Audio glitches every 11 min. 42 sec. in iDVD 6

i burned a slideshow in iDVD and added music but every 11 minutes 42 sec. it goes to a new "title" and the audio glitches right there. What am I doing to create this "title"......I'm very new at this and am sure its something I must have to turn off....?????

Check to see if the problem is happening at the 99th slide. iDVD slideshows can hang up there. If so, reduce to 98.
I make my slideshows in iPhoto instead of iDVD, then File/Export to my desktop and drag the resulting Quicktime movie into the edge of the iDVD project's main window. You won't have the glitch at No. 99, if that's the problem.

I have bought a new airport express and using it with my macbook (iTunes 10.2.2). I have joined an existing wireless network for internet in my home and with that i am trying to play the music via itunes but there is audio dropouts every 60 secs or so. I am using a set of speakers from kenwood connected to the airport express. The operating system on my macbook is mac os X 10.5.8. i am sure it is not a problem of streaming music online because i have even tried playing music which are stored in my macbook.
Is there any problem with the setting in itunes or quicktime ? Kindly reply...... I am waiting for your valuable suggestion.
Thank you a lot in advance.

I am shocked to have found this same AX audio dropout problem starting TODAY, every few seconds the audio just drops for a couple seconds and then resumes:  Latest software versions of everything.  No iPad, iPhone or Touch.  Internet hardwired to D-Link DES1105 (1000baseT Switch) hardwired to new 80211N AX, AX optical to stereo, AX Wi-Fi internet to basic 1st-gen MacBook operating at 80211G, and an older 'G' AX extender at the far end of the house, away from all this.  The MacBook streaming iTunes is usually 12 feet from AX.  I've used this setup for years of trouble-free AirTunes / Airplay until today.  Today I also found 2 very reliable fixes and 1 way to force a dropout, but first, I read some posts and tried ALL following settings one-at-a-time and restored them ALL because NONE of them helped:  Turned off IPV6.  Streamed to multiple speakers 'Computer' and 'AX' (restored to just AX).  Turned off 'Ask to Join new (WiFi) Networks'.  Turned off Bluetooth (can't live without Magic Trackpad, so glad that wasn't it).  Here's my discoveries:  Lo and behold, each time I click the Airport icon in the Menu (you know it shows you've got 4 bars from AX) when the status switches to 'Looking for Networks' for a second it CAUSES the AX audio to drop out for a couple seconds (it never did that before today.)  iTunes still playing, streaming, AX laser still lit, but the 'PCM' light on stereo and the sound GOES OUT EVERY time I click the Airport icon in the menubar, just like the regular, annoying dropouts.  So, to reduce traffic I quit Safari (3 tabs, no streaming, just Gmail, Google, and Netflix browsing).  Lo and behold, the dropouts stopped altogether.  No other Web apps going (not iTunes Store, Genius, Ping, nothing), so I launched Chrome to the same 3 tabs and the dropouts HAVE NOT RETURNED.  That's right, not only did simply QUITTING SAFARI cure it, and Chrome doesn't contribute to it, but I can demonstrate it just by forcing my Airport to re-scan.  Works for me, written using Chrome.  The other reliable fix is to hardwire MacBook to the Switch.  This is obviously not ideal, but Airplay audio doesn't drop out over Ethernet.  Also, in all my tests, it made no difference whether iTunes did the streaming, or Airfoil did.

  • Movies played in DivX player audio glitching every few seconds?

I have an MBP & I've noticed that everytime I watch a video/movie w/ DivX Player the movie will glitch every few seconds. DivX Player is my preferred program to watch movies/videos, so I haven't checked to see if it's also doing it w/ Quicktime etc.
    Any ideas?

If this were happening to me, I would try to narrow down the source of the problem by seeing if the problem persists by (1) logging in as a different user (e.g., Guest) and (2) starting up in Safe Mode.  (1) Helps identify problems specific to your account, e.g., login items, preference files, etc.,  (2) helps identify third-party system-level conflicts.
If you can get to it, you might try trashing Finder preferences at ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.finder.plist.  You could do this with Terminal. Also, try dumping Sophos.

  • Audio Glitching On Mew Mac Mini

I've got a brand new mini. Spec below. I had to upgrade...
Using L9.1.8  with Apogee Ensemble with latest Maverick drivers.....
The audio stutters evry 10 or so minutes. No crashes but frustrating....
I did a clean install from my original Logic 9 Disks
I'm using a Lacie Thunderbolt 2 Big Ext Drive
MY WHOLE RIG WAS STABLE ON MY MBP RUNNING LION.
    Anyone??

    Update CCTM
Just spoke to Apogee. Audio Glitching is a known issue with Macs with Fusion Drive.
10.9.2 Fixes this AND the grphics lag.

  • My Mac Mini Pauses and I get the wheel every 15 sec or so.

I have a Mac Mini System 2.66 duo core and System 10.8.2. My Mini just pauses every 15 sec or so and this is very irritiating is there anything that can be done about this.

Use Disk Utility to fix permissions.
Open Font Utility. Check for duplicate or corrupted fonts. Reboot into single user mode (hold shift key at boot until Apple logo). Rebuilds font cache. Then reboot normally again.
Have 4GB or more of memory with two sticks same size. 8GB would be better if h/w supports it.
A full drive will hammer your system performance.
If Spotlight is indexing more than your boot disk, you may want to disable this in the Spotlight preferences (Privacy).
[optional]Purchase latest version of Disk Warrior (Alsoft) and let it find any issues and repair your disk. It will also rebuild your drive directory and from my experience, improve file system responsiveness.

  • Recorded Audio Glitching

Just recorded for a few hours and all the audio I recorded is glitching when I play it back. The input signal wasn't clipped nor was any channel within the Logic Interface. I recorded from 2 Pioneer CDJs into a Pioneer DJM-600, then through my M-Audio Firewire 410 Interface straight into Logic. 80 min recording and every 15 secs, or so there's a 2 second glitch. The buffer size is set to 512 and the range is on "Large". While recording, nothing was clipping within the Firewire Interface or the Logic Interface. Not sure what's going...please advise.

  • Audio glitches with each effect/title

I'm starting to actually work with iMovie now and my first real project is giving me fits. I made a slideshow in another program, including music. I exported it as DV and imported it into iMove. I added a few titles and one effect. iMovie, of course, splits the movie into clips with each of these operations. The movie plays perfectly in iMovie and also in Quicktime Player - the problem pops up when I burn the DVD in iDVD (maybe I need to post this in the iDVD forum, but see below). At every single split (beginning and end) there is an audible glitch - an interruption, if you like. The result is totally unusable, of course.
The slideshows I have done so far(I'm using Photo To Movie) all render perfectly in iDVD, even including this one. It was only after I put this one into iMovie and edited it that I got this problem.
Has anyone else experienced this? I can't believe everybody has this happen, because Apple would never have been able to release the program in this state. So I must be doing something wrong, but what?
I sure hope somebody has an answer for this one, as I'm in deep doo-doo otherwise.
    Thanks.

I doubt the audio problem you describe has to do with the number of audio tracks you use or how you've used them. In fact, I'm not even sure it has anything to do with iMovie. These things get complicated real fast, and this project has gotten complicated.
You've imported video clips created in a different application to iMovie to join them together, then passed the iMovie project along to iDVD. Apparently something in that process is affecting iDVD's ability to encode the audio. That's not too surprising, actually. If there's a tiny audio flaw anywhere, iDVD may not be able to encode the DVD properly, causing an audible defect. (iDVD's job is convert an iMovie project to the MPEG-2 format used by DVD players. If the material we hand it isn't perfect, we might hear a burp. Interestingly, the burp may be more obvious on some DVD players than others.)
You said Photo to Movie movies work fine sent straight to iDVD. But that never "joins" the clips in the same way as importing them to iMovie does. iDVD encoding each separately doesn't present the same challenge as joining them in one movie. Joining requires a perfect match.
The solution may be to export the iMovie project to a Full Quality movie that you import to iDVD. Exporting to Full Quality will export to a QuickTime movie that's a DV Stream. That will "flatten" the audio, making it far easier for iDVD to handle. If there's a "burp" where clips come together, exporting might eliminate it. Or a least change the burp into sweet silence.
That's where I'd start. Export the iMovie project to a Full Quality movie. Drag that movie into the window of a new iDVD project.
If that still doesn't work, there's one more thing to try. It sometimes helps to slow down the burn speed. Instead of using iDVD to burn the DVD — which doesn't let us slow it down — use iDVD to create a disk image of the encoded video. Use the File > Save as Disk Image command to create a disk images instead of burning a DVD. (Not available in older versions of iDVD.) Open that disk image in Disk Utility and use Disk Utility to burn the DVD, choosing the slowest burn rate possible.
    Keep us posted.

  • Audio Glitches on Timeline, but not when played in QT?

I had a client send me his project on a harddrive.
They exported a .mov file from FCP and it has no audio glitches when played with Quicktime.
But if i drag that file to a timeline and watch it through my DSR-25 to a NTSC monitor, it has audio glitches in certain spots.
Always at that spot though and if i watch the file in Quicktime, it plays fine.
All audio was exported originally out of FCP using Quicktime Movie with 48khz, 16 bit stereo so nothing needed to be rendered.
Seems like it has something to do with it going over via firewire through my DSR-25.
Has anyone else had this problem.
I can't make a Master DVCam tape for this master because of these audio glitches.
    Thanks for any help,
    Brian

I read a post about a user having this same sort of issue.
He said when he turns off his video layer, in my case just V1, the audio played fine.
    Same with mine.
So it seems to be an issue with the video track playing with the audio track.
If i export it and bring it back in, will it just create that same audio glitch?
Guess i will have to try.
Anyone have this issue or similiar?
    Thanks,
    Brian

  • Enter run time in hours / mins / secs on the front pannel

I am trying to get a pop up VI to run alongside my main program. While the measurment parts of my software run I want a VI to pop up and display the run time in hours / mins / secs. Once the main VI ends its sequence, I want the timer VI to close down again. It sounds easy and maybe it is, but can I get it to work ........... HELP !!

I have created an example program for you (in LV 6.0). Basically a time window will popup at the start and show the runtime (calculated, so starts at 0 hours), and when you stop the Main vi the time window will close. The time is updated at every loop of the Main vi. All of this is achieved through VI server as you will see.
    I hope this helps you.

  • Movie audio becomes corrupted when exported to iDVD

    Hi,
I have created a movie that is 53" long in iMovie, added various transitions, text screens, music tracks and photos but also kept a lot of the camcorder audio as well. The movie plays perfect in preview on iMovie but when I have shared it with iDVD some of the audio and voices are out of sync and there are also some random loud noises, a quarter/half a second long, that appear at certain points in the iDVD version - they sound like bits of the actual iMovie audio but from completely different part of the movie.
So, the problem is that the movie is perfect in iMovie but when shared with either iDVD or Media Browser, there is some loss of syncing and these random noise bursts.....
This is the same when I have burned the movie to a DVD and played back through the DVD player - the out of sync and noises still appear.
Any thoughts on how I can get around this to have a perfect DVD as well - dont really want to get everyone around the Mac to watch the movie later this month!!!!
    Thanks

There is a known audio glitch in iMovie '09 that appears in exported movies when custom speed settings have been used in the project.
It's important when making speed changes to use only the preset speed percentages shown on the speed slider. These are: 12.5%, 25%, 50%, 100%, 200%, 400% and 800%. Don't manually type in your own custom speeds that differ from the presets.
The glitch that you describe appears only in the exported movie, and as you have noted, is not evident in preview (before sharing). The fix is to revisit your project and adjust any custom speeds to the presets. This can be a pain of course, as you may have to resynchronise the project elements.

  • Audio glitches at the start of video

    Hello,
i have a few audio glitches at the start of the video.
This happens only at the start of the video, at the first 30-40 sec, where there is a music soundtrack.
I am using encore 2.0 and a portable HP Pavilion dv4000.
The video was coming from a dv tape that was captured with windows movie maker as avi and imported as avi to encore.
But the sound was changed to 48 khz, at the edit (Avid).
    Please i need your help.

    Neil,
Thanks for the response. I started looking for Audioblack in the New Asset list, the Transitions and Effects, all through Audition, manuals, Internet, everything, and about all that I found was reference to an indie band - "Audioblack," or comments attributed to you. I have a lot of material from Dolby, from when I first began using 5.1 Surround in DVDs, but did not see this term there. It was probably in some of their more technical papers, and not the "primer" course ones, that I already had. You very clearly pointed out *what* the problem was likely to be, but I wanted clarification as to the exact solution. You cleared that up beautifully.
Based on one of your earlier replies along these lines, I instituted a 2 sec. gap in my Audio Tracks at the beginning of all Timelines, as part of my workflow - 2 sec. Black Video, Dip to Black to 1st Title, and silence on my Audio Track, but was becoming worried, that I needed to create an actual Audio Clip with certain properties. I see that my interpretation of Audioblack works.
I had not encountered the problems, that some others had, but then my test DVD players are all higher-end Marantz units, and who knows what a client is likely to try and play the DVDs on? I wanted to establish a workflow, that would give me the greatest chance of success, regardless of the hardware. Thanks to you, and to others, I am honing my workflow, as well as I can.
I think, based on some other responses, that involve hardware, that I will dig up a very old, and cheap Panasonic DVD from my gym, to use as a test machine - doesn't get much older, or cheaper, than that.
    Greatly appreciated,
    Hunt
PS I still use an older Cambridge as the rear-channel amp out of my Carver C-400 pre. Great unit and still going strong!

  • Fix found: Broadcom drivers, Firewire audio and audio glitches

    Hi,
I've been working with MOTU (Mark of the Unicorn) trying to get my 828mk3 firewire audio device to work properly under Vista 64-bit in Boot camp (note I had same problems with 32-bit version).
The problem was that I would get audio glitches in the form of beeps from my audio device every 30s-1:30s. Each glitch would last about 1s (@10000Hz). After many tests, I discovered when I disabled the Broadcom driver (latest MacBookPro5,1 distributed version), the problem went away.
Does anyone know why a Wifi adapter could affect a Firewire 400 device? Note I had the same problem with my old MacBook3,1.. so the problem is not related to the new MBP.
Anyways, I hope someone fixes the Broadcom driver; never-the-less, if you have this problem, this is your solution
    Thank you,
