Audio goes quiet after watching a while
This is happening far too frequently. We have been connected about a month.
After watching a channel for a while, it goes completely quiet. It's happened with NHL Network, Golf Channel and CNN. No specific pattern.
I go to LAST channel and sound is there, LAST back and quiet.
I've even tried powering off the STB and back on. No luck. Eventually it comes back.
Is this audio issue only happening on that one channel or other channels as well? Do you lose sound like that when watching a DVD or using a different source on your TV? To run a self diagnostic, press MENU, then goto CUSTOMER SUPPORT, then IN HOME AGENT, then SET TOP BOX AUTO CORRECTION. If that does not fix it, try from the same menu REBOOT STB. Audio goes missing after advanced pulldown removal
Anybody come across this? I can't find anything in the forum about it.
I shot 24pAdvanced on my DVX-100A. Captured everything as 29.97 NTSC DV in 20 min segments. I do a DV Start/Stop Detect to get markers placed, then do an advanced pulldown removal and edit on 23.98 timeline. I've got about 100 hours of footage, and have been going along quite smoothly on about 80 of those hours.
Recently however, some clips mysteriously lose their audio after the pulldown removal! Both audio tracks are still there, but they are flatlined. All except for the first 4 or 5 seconds actually. That much audio is present. Then the waveforms show it just flatline. Recapturing the tape replaces the audio, but then it disappears after the pulldown again!
Any thoughts would be welcome

I just don't want to fix problems in the online because it'll take time therefore MONEY. I was thinking on recapturing the master sequence in my machines at advanced pulldown removal, fix any problems and then export the EDL to go to the online.

Audio goes out after retiming clip..
I'm working on a project in FCPx and I'm retiming a clip to 89%, but everytime I change it there's no audio whatsoever. It just stops working.
Tried it with detaching the audio first and retiming them separately and the same thing happened. There aren't any soundwaves visable after I retime either.
Help, this is driving me crazy!!OK
I'm a soft head. Now I understands what You want to do.
OK there is a smart way to exchange video for a photo but keeping the audio. BUT
I use a much more raw way of doing this.
I import my photo. Set a duration for it eg. 4 sec => 00:00:04:00 exactly
then I select the video clip
Extract sound - so that I don't affect this when doing the brain surgery
Cut in the video part away exactly 00:00:04:00
Select the photo clip - drop this before the un-needed video clip
Select the un-needed video clip and delete this.
Now I've replaced a pice of the video with a photo but the sound flows as it
was un-tuched.
I always work this way - think it has to do with super-8 film editings during
the stone-ages.
There is a function in iMovie that does this - replace action but I've never used it.

Audio is quieter after flex-ing?
Anyone else experience this or know how to fix it?
I'm not talking about the inherent degradation of audio quality caused by any timestretching algorithm, this is something else.
Even just a tiny flex of a long audio region makes the file a lot quieter, and you can see the waveform is noticably smaller on the graphical overview in the region itself.
maybe there is a setting somewhere which says 'drop the volume by xdB when using flex'? but i cant find it??
system = snow leopard, logic 9.1.5, 32bit, i7 iMac, bear amounts of RAM etc.This is normal. Multicam by default only uses Audio 1 of the source sequence.

You tube audio goes silent after I use itunes
Browsers including firefox 3.5+ lose you tube audio. I noticed this happens after I visit itunes it seems. My OS is Vista home premium on a Dell inspirion 1525 with good audio usually. To fix it I have to exit firefox and restart.
Try the 'report a problem' link from your purchase history : log into your account on your computer's iTunes via Store > View My Account and you should then see a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it ; click on that and you should see a list of your purchases ; find that audiobook and use the 'Report a Problem' link.

T41 screen goes dark after one second while powering up
T41 2379-DKU running XP Pro. I power on the machine, the screen lights up with the logo for a second and goes totally dark, but I can still very dimly see the logo on the screen with room lighting.
I replaced the motherboard a year ago for the "flex" failure. Was working fine prior to this, no pink in whites, clear, accurate color rendition. What is broken? Inverter? Backlight?, none of the above?The inverter that powers your display backlight is failing and needs to be replaced.

Clip audio gets quieter after enabling multi-cam.
I have a sequence with two video tracks and one stereo audio track (recorded separtely and synced), and placed it into my "main" sequence for editting. Before enabling multi-cam, the audio levels are noticibly higher, and once setting multi-cam to enable, the volume levels drop about 2-3db. I then have to raise the volume to compensate for that. Is this a bug or something particular about the way multi-cam clips are handled?
SteveThis is normal. Multicam by default only uses Audio 1 of the source sequence.

Audio cuts out after 2 minutes
I'm having a bizzare trouble with the Audio cutting out after 2 minutes while watching TV. It comes back for exactly 2 minutes only after I change the chanel, and with every subsequent chanel change after.
I have the Audio out on the @anywhere card connected to the line-in on my Audigy 2 sound card via a stero cable (which I've changed) and I've verrified that my sound card is ok by running other devices into the computer through the line-in.
I've also had alot of trouble with the MSIPVS software crashing and causing my system to hang. I've only had the card and software for a short time and am still working out the bugs but any help will be appreciated.Did you look at the top of THIS forum? In the Announcements and Important threads? I know there is a sticky thread about sound cutting out, it may, or may not be related to the one problem you have.

Mac pro turns on but screen goes black after a while what could be wrong please help!!!
Hello mac community, I am new,
I updated a program today everything was working fine yesterday and now today I was updating PLAY a music engine program it seems to have caused the mac to go crazy. I also updated VE PRO 5 another music program. Everything has gone crazy. It turns on but then then the screen goes black after a while 5-10mins. I managed to get the crash report.
Why is the graphics card all of a sudden effected by program updates.

Yesterday upon startup for the first time the screen went black. Had to do a force shutdown. Unplugged all external devices. Reset everything as well. Slowly checked everything was on the phone with Apple even during the process. Seemed to correct the issue. Then of course I get off the phone, restarted my computer and it goes black randomly again.
Rebooted fine. Checked all my hard disks internal and external, verified and repaired permissions on main drive and clone. Since then nothing yet...But I still feel its either the Video Card or the Monitor as everything else is fully operational.
I plan on taking it in to look at as my applecare is up in November but I cant point my finger on it. And really am trying to avoid lugging the mac pro and monitor in at the same time...(Not the easiest thing with lack of parking in nyc..)
If the display was dying I feel like it would have konked out already.
The funny thing is I have had to replace video cards and monitors in the past but this time I cant quite figure out what the **** is going on.
I am leaning towards the video card as I noticed it flickered a little when opening plug in windows in pro tools or multiple windows in sfari but it doesnt make sense.
Worst part is I cant do a hardware test cause for some reason this computer doesnt have the software installed. It does nothing when I hold down the D button...

Video playback stops while audio goes on
After several month of not making any movies, I am trying a new project. Right of the start something is wrong, freshly imported unedited line of clips is not being played correctly in iMovie preview window - video stops in about 30sec or so, while audio goes on. If I switch to full screen, it gives me another 10sec of video, then it stops there, too, and nothing brings frozen video back to life. After restarting the app, everything repeats.
Needless to say it's impossible to edit.
It also does it with the older projects, which used to work just fine.
Here is what I've done so far:
1. Repaired permissions on startup disk and checked it for errors.
2. Repaired external disk, where the project resides (even tried to move the project to internal disk with no avail - same results), and where I have 80GB of free space.
3. Replaced external disk's directory, using DiskWarrior.
4. Deleted iMovie preferences file.
5. Removed all third-party plug-ins I had.
Nothing works.
QuickTime Player seems to play imported clips fine, so I am guessing, it's an iMovie bug. Any practical suggestions would be highly aprecciated (by practical I mean, not "reformat your hard drive and reinstall everything" or "buy a faster computer" or "invest in FinalCut instead")
I've been a loyal iLife user since the very beginning, and I swear, iMovie in it's buginnes is only challenged by iDVD.It is a common problem for G4 800 machines and I've been told Apple is investigating the issue.
Try putting your Mac to "sleep" for a minute and then try the file again. -

Cannot hear anything in normal speaker even though the call Is going through and has been re ieved on the other end, I have to enable speaker and then disable it to route audio to normal speakersI think that it is something wrong with kernel and graphic drivers but i'm not able to solve it from the beginning of using of Arch by me.
I'm not so sure this issue is software-related only because in my case it seems the laptop screen enters power-saving mode (10-min timeout) on its own without any events logged (as shown by dmesg) so my next thought was OK, I'm going to get rid of this issue disabling the screen power-saving timeout in the BIOS and set it to never power down or something like that and from then on managing power mode manually; ie: when I want to power down I will just use systemctl suspend/hibernate which work fine ... problem is: there are no related options in my BIOS for such timeout.
The only timeouts I have are in /etc/systemd/logind.conf set to 30min (#IdleActionSec) (commented) by default so these are not in effect because the screens goes blank after 10m which is less than the (default) 30m in logind. Maybe setting loggind to 9m (un-commented) to catch the event before the machine-default one ?

Hello. I recently pieced together a late 2008 MacBook Pro 15". Everything works fine except the battery constantly goes between "not charging" and "calculating" or, rarely "charging". It does charge after a long while and will report that it is charged.
I have reset the NVRAM and the SMC a couple of time but that didn't work so I ran an Apple Hardware Test and while testing the logic board it gives the following error:

I've done some research and found this is a temperature sensor related to the battery, but cannot find where the sensor is located in the computer. Would you know how I can find the sensor to test it? Could my battery problem be related to something else? Would a fresh install of Lion help?

HELP! Audio goes out of sync after export!
OK, folks. I need your help. I have a looming deadline of THIS FRIDAY to hand this in.
I have a finished multicam edit of a show that runs 1 hr 20 min. It plays back perfectly in the timeline, all video and audio perfectly in sync. Looks and sounds exactly like what I need.
When I export the video as an H.264 file, the audio gets out of sync with the video by 13 frames! But that's not all... It doesn't happen to the entire audio track. There's about 50 minutes in the middle of the video where the audio goes out of sync. The audio at the beginning and ending of the video is lined up perfectly in sync. It's just the middle section that gets screwy.
What do I do?!
This has never happened before, and I've worked a lot with multicam in Premiere Pro CC before this. Never been an issue. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Premiere, and also deleting all media cache files, but still no dice. I also tried copying the clips into a new sequence in the same project, copying the clips into a new sequence in a NEW project, nesting the sequence... nothing works.
My setup:
MacBook Pro Retina (Rev. A)
Premiere Pro CC (latest version)
Panasonic GH3 footage in 1080p 24p AVCHD timeline
3 cameras & 1 audio WAV file in Multicam
Any help would be greatly appreciated!OK, I figured out how to fix it:
In Premiere Pro CC, click on SEQUENCE > DELETE RENDER FILES.
Try exporting the movie again.
It worked! I exported the same sequence, and it took a long while to re-render the audio files, but when it was finished exporting the audio and video were in perfect sync. I'm not sure what caused it, but this fixed it, so hopefully anyone else having this issue can save a lot of time by reading this.

Although this article specifically mentions the iPhone, many of the steps apply for the iPad as well.
iPhone: No sound or distorted sound from speaker
Verify that the volume is set to a level you would normally be able to hear.
Ensure that there is nothing plugged in to the headset jack or the dock connector.
If the iPhone is in a protective case, make sure that the speaker port isn't blocked by the case.
Make sure that the speaker and dock port aren't clogged with debris. If necessary, clean it with a clean, small, dry, soft-bristled brush. Carefully and gently brush away any debris.
If an audio issue occurs when using a specific application, try testing other applications to see if the issue persists.
If the iPhone is paired with a Bluetooth headset or car kit:Restart the iPhone.Restart the iPhone.
Try turning off Bluetooth.
If you experience difficulties with the Bluetooth feature, follow these troubleshooting steps.
Restart the iPhone.
If restarting doesn't fix the issue, ensure that your iPhone is updated to the latest version of iOS.
