Audio going 10x faster than video

That is probably a pretty horrible title, and it may be inaccurate.  I am using Adobe Premiere Elements 11, and I opened a 3minute and 12 second video and audio clip of me playing drums.  When I place it on the timeline, the audio in the audio track is all jumbled within the first 20 seconds.  When I play it, it sounds like the audio is going at a super high rate of speed. (i.e 10x faster, probably more, actually)  The video then continues to play for the remainder of it's duration, without any audio.  I'm not sure what other information you might need.  Any help would be appreciated.
Oh yeah, I'm using an Acer laptop with Windows 7 64-bit,  a Dual core 2.2 GHz processor, 3gb RAM, 5400RPM 320gb hard drive.  I realize those specs are pretty weak, but I don't feel like that would be causing my problem, but who knows.
Also, the file is a .mov file from a ZoomQ3HD.

Could you please post the Tree version of the MediaInfo readout? To get at it you can click on the arrow at the end of the message at the middle right side of the readout that you posted? I am particularly interested in the audio codec and if it is twos. I have found that to be a very problematic audio codec in at least one instance where I had to deal with it with a user.
Your video codec represented as AVC is probably H.264. And, it looks like the file has the .mov file extension. To me, the rest of those video properties appear atypical, that is, 848 x 480 16:9 @ 59.94 frames per second (probably progressive).
As a consideration for your troubleshooting, I would offer a manually set Premiere Elements project preset of:
NTSC
AVCHD
AVCHD 1080p60
But before all that, you might want to read about my prior encounter with twos audio and decide if the issues in the following apply to your situation as well. If they do, you may want to check out my suggestion to the user in that case. (See Post 8 in the thread cited)

  • Audio plays back faster than video in Quicktime formats on Mac

On both my iMac and MacBook Pro, both running Mavericks, 90% of videos dependant on the Quicktime codecs / engine have an issue where the video plays fine, but audio is almost always too fast. This results in the audio being of a higher pitch and drifting further and further out of sync. It affects videos played in Quicktime, the Quick Preview in Finder and even web-based video such as in HTML5 players. It's really weird that I can't find anyone else that is having this problem, and yet it is affecting both my machines! It's really frustrating as I work with video all day, and have to preview and review everything in VLC, which plays everything fine. Any ideas at all? I'm finding so many weird bugs and quirks in Mavericks I am strongly considering downgrading back to Mountain Lion, but I am dreading having to do two complete re-installs again.

Which version of AME do you use on which OS version?
If you are using VLC to playback, please update to the latest version.  I remember the older version had the MXF audio playback issue.  It seems this issue was fixed on the latest version.
If this is not the case, could you try playing back this file on Adobe app such as Premiere Pro?  Do you see the same problem?

  • Audio is much faster than video streaming to AppleTV 3

Trying to watch some music videos that play just fine in iTunes on the pc where they reside.  But when streamed to ATV 3 via homesharing the audio speeds up quite a bit.  Video is playing at the correct pace.

  • Why does audio run faster than video after burning my iMovie project in iDVD?

I created a project in iMovie HD and shared it to iDVD 6. When I played the finished disc, I noticed that the audio ran much faster than the video. I rechecked my movie and audio clips in iMovie to make sure they were matched correctly, and I saw no problem there. I burned the disc again through iDVD and got the same problem when I played it in a DVD player.
I have never had this problem before and I've been working on dvd projects all week. I think the only difference with this movie project is that I had movie clip audio and background audio playing at the same time at some parts of the movie, but I don't know if that's the issue.
    Any suggestions?

    Hi
And just to add to OT-s brilliant suggestions - really - Do a Save as a DiskImage ! IMPORTANT !
    • When free space goes down on the Start-Up hard disk to 5Gb or less - strange things occurs - Yes even audio out of sync - to not working DVD at all.
I secure a minimum of 25Gb free space when using SD-video to iDVD - if HD material I would guess 4-5 times more as it has to be re-calculated into SD and this needs space.
DVD - is as standard SD-Video (as old time CRT-TVs) - even if You use DVD-Studio Pro or iDVD or Roxio Toast™ - That's what it is and using HD material doesn't improve a bit (may be even give a lesser result)

  • The video sound faster than video ipad mini, this happen when I download the iOS 7.1 to my iPad mini, how can I fix that?

The video sound faster than video ipad mini, this happen when I download the iOS 7.1 to my iPad mini, how can I fix that? Or just wait till Mac release a new version update, also some game and apps doesn't open or when open they close, please help!!!

Start by closing all apps and resetting your iPad and see if that helps with any of your issues.
To close an app, drag the app up from the multitasking display. Double tap the home button and you will see apps lined up going left to right across the screen. Swipe to get to the app that you want to close and then swipe "up" on the app preview thumbnail to close it. Close all of the apps on the iPad this way.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

  • Audio recording/playback plays too fast, faster than Video

: Whenever I record sound from my computer, whether it's from my mic or just sounds playing on the computer, the recorded file always plays the audio faster than the video. I've checked the drivers and re-installed several times, even reformatted and it's still the same thing. I even played around with the hardware acceleration meter with trial and error and it end's up always the same.
    What could be the problem?

Try turning off automatic exposure in the settings. And adjust some of the other settings (gamma, brightness, exposure) until you get a picture which you're happy with. And try that. In the UK, films are made at 24fps (frames per second) PAL format, and in America it's 30fps NTSC format. So yes, 30fps is as good as it gets! It's as good as TV and better than a lot of other webcams.

  • Unlike others I'm hearing sound but not very well - faster than video play!

The topic is concerning audio and video adjustment with movies in Quicktime Pro.
I have an avi file that, at first, was not playing the movie (white screen). I quite properly (and proudly, for I'm not a smart one when it comes to technology) installed a 3ivx codec to fix that, now it's fabulous.
The problem that I have now (and it was ever present even before I fixed the white screen, I was just not paying attention) is that the audio and the video lengths do not line up (they should).
I checked the properties, and it confirmed my confusion: the length of the movie hits 2hours 2 minutes, while the audio (which plays at the same length (normally) on my Windows Media Player) is logged at 1Hour 38minutes.
I tried downloading more filters/codecs to fix this, but nothing has helped. The information tells me that the audio is fomatted with Mpeg Layer 3.
How on earth do I get my audio to match up with the video?
    Please help!
    Thanks!

Thanks so much to everyone. I am defiantly going to get one (I didn't need a lot of persuasion) just going to narrow it down between the 20" and the 24" now. I will for sure wait through MacWorld just to see if anything big comes out of it. I know about other displays but part of the iMac appeal is the sleekness of it all to me. Getting rid of my speakers, and thousands of cables seems almost too good to be true. I figure if I fall in love with the iMac I will pick up a 13" MacBook also.
Sims 2 I might play but knowing it will work in Bootcamp is fine. A few months ago the Apple store showed us that program. Orange box is way more of a game then I will ever play. My husband will but, he'll do that on a console. He has the giant end all end all PC's but says what he knows will happen is that he'll love the iMac and want a Mac too. Its exactly what happened with my iPhone. I got one he loved it and promptly sold his Treo for an iPhone.
I have owned a Apple in the past. I had an Apple IIc.

  • Sound faster than video problem

I just finished a movie in Flash Mx Pro 2004, and whenever i
play the movie, on the eight scene the sound starts moving faster,
and the video stays the same speed. I think the sound jumps ahead
like 10 seconds and then starts going the same speed.
I don't think it's a problem with my computer, it should be
    able to handle the movie.

I just did some tests with the movie, and now im sure that
the sound is moving faster, not just ahead by 10 second for the
    whole movie.

  • DVD Player audio track plays slower than Video and at transposed pitch

I have a strange problem with DVD player. I have an opera DVD (not a commercial one - it is from a personal performance and is on a DVD-R disk)) which I put in my Mac Book Pro (OSX 10.5.6)and DVD Player played it fine. I wanted to try to convert the info on the DVD to extract a short section of the DVD. I went to Hand Brake and tried that, it told me I needed to install VLC which I did, Hand Brake then recoded the Files. Now when I insert the DVD though DVD Player starts automatically but plays the DVD audio at a slower speed and transposed lower. I have no idea why this is! Needless to say I do not want it playing slower. VLC also did not work very well with the audio so I have uninstalled the VLC program as it played the VOB files but the sound track was very wonky with the pitch shifting all over the place. How do I return to having DVD Player working properly?

okay, I can help you a little bit. your dvd player (standalone) plays mpeg-2, I think, so
in order for a disk to work in it, both the audio and video have to be combined into a whole package, which i think is video_ts.Using Toast, choose video, then dvd-video then drag n' drop, and it may work. As far as  i know, disk utility cannot make video dvd's, but  I may be wrong, and you may be right. I used iDVD, but there are probably other programs that may do as good a job of burning. Oh, and this is most important: Some blanks will work ok, and others won't. Verbatim, maxell ( I think) and Taiyo Yuden will work fine. the other ones are a gamble. I think what it's supposed to do is called muxing. I'm sure someone will correct me on this. You could try using "Burn" which is relatively cheap or Handbrake and see if that will do what you want to do. not that it's super important, but the amount of Ram in your machine is helpful too
    anyways, good luck

  • Audio export is faster than original

Does ny 1 has the same problem as I do? My exported aiff 48K 24bit is shorter than the original. I reimport it in & match the beginning & ending tones (beeps) & it is shorter.
I had exported before to give to sound editor & it was perfect. Just tonight, it gives me this problem. Had tried several times but still not working.
    Please help,
    JP

What was the source file's format? 48/24 bit? or 16 bit? Probably should keep the same format as the original... you won't improve it changing it anyway.

  • WDS remote 10x faster than WDS base?

I have a Time Capsule (802.11n) set up as a WDS base, and an Airport Express (802.11g).
    The setup is as follows:
DSL ]====[ Time Capsule )))((( Airport Express
My DSL modem serves as the router and DHCP host. Both the Time Capsule and the Airport Express are in bridge mode.
Now, if I hop on the wireless network with my PowerBook, I get downloads in the 500kbps range when it's going through the Time Capsule (looking at connected devices in Airport Utility). But I get upwards of 5000kbps when it goes through the Airport Express. What gives? Why would the Time Capsule, even running in compatibility mode, be an order of magnitude slower?

"1. Should I have set the AEX up as a WDS remote or a WDS relay? Which is the correct setting for what I am trying to do? Does it matter?"
It was correct to set up the AirPort Express Base Station (AX) as a Remote Base Station in the WDS. A Relay would be used between a Main and Remote to extend the wireless even farther. Typically, a Relay wouldn't have wireless clients.
"2. Secondly, with my AEX set up as a WDS remote, I see two networks with the exact same name as my AEBSn (main base station) according to istumbler. The AEBSn shows as 49%, while the AEX shows as 60%. But since they both have the exact same network name, which connection is my wireless client (macbook) receiving? The 49% or the 60%? I can't tell."
That's correct, because with the WDS you extended your original wireless network. To which base station your MacBook will connect to would be the one providing the stronger signal. Most likely the one it's closest to.

  • Audio doesn't sync with video.  Any suggestions?

When I watch a TV show or movie on iTunes the audio moves much faster than the video.  Very distracting.  Suggestions for fix?  I have the latest version of iTunes.

Try the tips in this Apple document -> iTunes and QuickTime for Windows: Audio does not play or plays incorrectly
If they don't work, try downloading something else from the Free On iTunes section of the iTunes Store.
