Audio gone bad for no reason!!

I made a complete movie, its played fine for over 3 months, then one day there is no audio and the video skips all over the place. The audio and video play fperfect when a single clip is being played, but when the whole movie is played, nothing works. I have no idea why this happened. ANy help would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

Me too! I even started to my project from scratch and was comforted that it seemed fine. Then when I extracted the audio, the video and audio portions got garbled.
Using iMovie 3.0.3 with Mac OS 10.3.9 and QuickTime 7.0.3 on both a PowerMac G4-400mhz (Gigabit Ethernet) and iBook G3-600mhz (Oct 2001).
I'll have to downgrade QT to get my project done.
I'd like to think that Apple will provide a fix. . . but I suppose they don't really have much incentive to support iMovie 3 when they're on iMovie HD 5 or whatever now. I suppose I need to weigh buying iLife '05 or a new Mac mini with iLife bundled.

Would 100% width on a Fluid Grid Layout be bad for any reason?

I was thinking of setting 100% width on my Fluid Grid Layout (for all media queries) so I wouldn't have to go outside the fluid container for my header and footer bar. Would this be bad for any reason? I feel like they probably preset sizes below 100% for a reason.

If you are talking about desktop version then NO provided you assign margins, paddings and borders to html tags rather than the Divs. This is because borders, margins and paddings are all part of the box model and so the overall width could possibly exceed 100%.

There is no iCloud icon. The only place you will see iCloud is in Settings, and that's where you have to go to sign in to create your account.
Are you trying to create an iCloud account?

WMA audio files can only placed in audio track 8 for some reason

Using CS3. The only other audio tracks that have any files in them are tracks 1 through 3 . The WMA files in track 8 were recorded from a small digital recorder.
Every other audio file..... mp3 and the captured mpeg's audio portion.... can go in any audio track.
Why are these WMA files not able to be placed in the other tracks?

Per Harm's comment, you can look at the Audio Track Header for the little "speaker" icons for each Track: one speaker = mono, two speakers = stereo, and "5.1" = a 5.1 Audio Track.
If you set up your Project/Sequence with the required Audio Track types for your Assets, you can have your mono, or 5.1 Audio Tracks almost anywhere you want, and can also change the name, from say "Audio 1" to "SFX_Mono_01."
Also, if you have a bunch of unused Audio (or Video) Tracks, you can Delete those, or can create new ones, about wherever you wish. If you do not have the proper type of Audio Track created, PrPro will create a new one, of the proper type, for you. Just drag your Asset to below the Master, and boom! a new proper Track will appear, with the Clip in it.

Senderbase Reputation Bad for no reason?

Does anyone know of any way I can find out WHY some of our IP's poor senderbase reputation score even though the rest that send the same mail do not?
It seems to only be this range of IP's affected as they were a group of 30 that we received...184.107.24.161-190
I like the concept of what Cisco is doing with senderbase - but without telling system administrators WHY they are listed poorly, how can we fix the problem? And why is there no mechanism to contact people to request the reasoning behind the change in status?
If anyone can help, please let me know - as we don't know who to contact and I suspect the previous owner of these is the reason for it!

Did it connect at one point? Does it connect to other wifi hotspots? Did you actually reboot the phone (Hold home button and sleep/wake button together for 10 seconds then let go)? Printer has gone offline for no reason! I have downloaded HP diagnostics, restarted computer, etc.

Help! My Officejet 6480 goes offline whenever it gets in the mood. It's a wireless hookup. Everything looks fine--wireless light is on, printer is on, etc. I've downloaded the HP Diagnostics which seems to think everything is fine, judgin by all the green checks. I have to reboot my router for the problem to be resolved. I have assigned a static IP in the router for the printer as some suggested. But as soon as the printer goes into sleep mode I seem to lose connectivity between the router and printer. The router reboot sloves my problem, but it's a pain. The HP diagnostics does nothing for me except to suggest I have to run setup which is crazy in my opinion.

Voice-over audio goes offline for no reason. Is there a way to prevent this from happening?

This is happening on both my editors. I will add a voice-over track to the storyline and if I close out that project or close out FCPX, sometimes my voiceover track is offline. NO, I DID NOT MOVE THE FILE OR ERASE ANYTHING. I appreciate any input.

My display has gone funny for no reason.

Everything viewed on my computer has increased in size. Every application I open is too large for my screen, the font and window. I have tried changing view specifications but it not helping with all the problems at the moment. Is there anyone who can help me with this?

Hi, act222. Welcome to the Discussions.
1. Try starting up in Safe Mode, then resetting your Display preferences (System Preferences > Displays). Then restart normally.
2. Reset PRAM and NVRAM. Then reset your Display preferences if required.
3. Run the Apple Hardware Test that came with your Mac. It will test the video subsystem. See my "Apple Hardware Test" FAQ for comprehensive advice on using the Apple Hardware Test in troubleshooting, including running the test in Loop Mode.
4. What changes did you make to your Mac before this problem arose?

Still photos go bad for no reason

I am working in FCP 6.0.5 on a MacPro computer. I imported five photos into a new project for a 30 sec. commercial. The size of the photos prior to importing are: 88 kb; 196 kb, 2.6 mb , 3.2 mb and 5.1 mg
In my project, I placed one photo (2.6 mb) and dragged it out to 13 seconds duration or so. It starts out beautiful: crisp and clear. Then, after scrubbing through it, seems to become out of focus! It has now happened with each of the photos.
I tried the de-interlace photo (both upper and even) and it only made it worse. In fact, the more I try to fix this issue, the worse the photos seem to get. They seem to degrade more and more (it seems).
Also, I exported via QTime and the resulting file plays poorly. The QT file is as follows:

I can certainly go into Photoshop and resize the photos,and then re-import, some are vertical and it will be difficult to crop. (Client supplied photos.)
Nevertheless, as I mentioned, I outputted the original file using QT and then played the :30 mov on a TV monitor and the result was equally unclear and out of focus -- same as in the Timeline. Note that in the BROWZER, the STILL pictures are crisp while the STILL pictures in the canvas become unclear.
Also, I did animate the photos (vertical from top to bottom) alternating in the opposite direction for the next photo. However, as I mentioned, the still photos in the canvas appear unclear prior to animating them. When I play the dvd, the straight lines on all the objects that I have animated, look like ants crawling.

I was working on numerous songs in Logic Pro 9, and for some reason 2 of the songs would not bounce. I get an error message: Error in parameter list / Not an existing volume, and no default volume / Bad positioning information / Bad drive number

I was doing some minor editing in Logic Pro 9.1.8, like adding some plug-ins to audio and midi tracks on numerous songs. Most of the songs I had no problem bouncing. For some reason 2 of the songs I tried to bounce kept showing me this error message:
"Error in parameter list / Not an existing volume, and no default volume / Bad positioning information / Bad drive number" result code=-50.
The songs open and play fine, but won't let me bounce. I've worked with Logic for a few years and this has never happened. Any suggestions?

Fixed! Ran disk utilities and repaired my external HD.

What format is your problem clip? Are there wave forms visible in the section without sound?
Right click on the clip in the event broswer and choose Reveal in Finder; open the clip in Quick Time to confirm that there is sound throughout at that stage of your workflow.
