Audio in .mp4 file cuts off

The audio in the mp4 file I am trying to use gets cut off. It plays 95% of it, but for some reason cuts the audio off towards the end. I have checked the file on both a PC and Mac and on both the audio shows fine, but when I open it on my computer (Mac) it is cut off. I have tried a clean install of AE CC 14 and that did not help.

MP4's and compressed audio may or may not play well with different machines. It's the nature of a format that is CPU intensive and decodes the file in blocks.
If you start with a frame based source that has a standard uncompressed audio track the changes of having a successful render of your mp4 is much higher, but still not 100% guaranteed.

First, back up all data and then uninstall "DivX" according to the developer's instructions.
    Then try this:

  • Illustrator file cut off?

converted a CC trial file to open in other versions of illustrator, but the file does not contain all my work/images and is instead cut off. what do i do?

what do you mean "converted" did you save down to your current version?
sounds like you didn't and what you opened was a pdf version of your work.
select all and unmask it (cmd+option+7). the cutoff work might show up. effects and maybe gradients will be expanded.
otherwise you need to get your hands on cc and make sure you downsave correctly.

  • No audio in MP4 file ?

    I was export timeline xdcam 35 mbs, 720p 50 fps to MP4 720p 50 fps.
When looking video on Mac everything is ok, but, when I copy MP4 file to USB and put directly to LCD there is only video, no audio? Before on G5 I was use matrox compress card, and always MP4 file was ok on LCD. Where is problem? tnx.

I do not know maybe it's a coincidence. Because I was made before in the AAC audio format, so one video has audio on LCD, second NO,  although there is same preset from Compresor. Before with Matrox Compress HD on G5  has never been a problem.
In this MP4 I haven't audio on LCD, AAC,  44.1 khz,
And Why is original height/widht not same like encoded video? I did not touch the video settings, such Crop

  • Audio Player in Mail Cut Off

For a few months now I have noticed that the audio player for WAV attachments in mail doesn't display the entire audio bar. Instead, it appears to be cut off in the middle, only showing the play button, and the first part of the audio progress bar. Any thoughts on what might be causing this?

I know this isn't an answer or work-around (because you have to pay for the upgrade), but it seems to be resolved in 10.8 Mountain Lion. I can see the entire bar again in the new mail app.

  • Import of MXF files cuts off at 30 seconds.

I am having trouble importing MXF files, the import cuts off at 30sec. I cannot import clips that are longer than 30sec. because FCPX cuts them off after 30sec. What am I doing wrong?

What kind of MXF?  What camera shot the footage?

  • Incompatible audio from MP4 file

I have several business partners that are supplying me with .mp4 files from Adobe live flash media encoder, using the h.264 codec, but the only audio choice is for an MP3  codec. this combination displays/plays no audio in Premiere Pro CS5. Only after I use handbrake to convert the audio to the  AAC codec with it play in the Timeline. The upgrade to the main concept plug-in for AFMLE will allow for this, but the business partners are reluctant to spend the $
Question: is CS6 compatible with the default of FMLE with h.264 and the .mp3 audio? if so I will upgrade.
anyone else see this issue when using .MP4 files?

You can always install the trial and see for yourself.

  • Exported files cut off early

    Hi
Im exporting several files from Final Cut Pro HD, in DV format 48KHz PAL (although this problem occurs on any file type I export). When the exported files are viewed in Quicktime the look and run fine. However, if I am viewing the files in any other media player, such as VLC or Windows Media Player, then the ends of the file get cut off short.
Is this a common problem, is there a solution or something I'm doing wrong?
    Thanks

Sounds like either the WAB is not set to the full Duration of the Timeline, or there has been an accidental Out Point set on the Timeline.
For the first, hit the \ (Backslash key) to zoom the Timeline to min. and then Dbl-click the little square in the middle of the WAB (Work Area Bar) to expand it to the max.
For the second, look at the Timeline ruler, near the end, and let us know if it is a different shade of gray, in that last 10 sec.
    Good luck,

  • Files cutting off

My computer sometimes shows a window that says "Please Locate" and then gives a long file directory to a specific file its loking for. Problem is, these files are so deep in the file hierarchy that my window cannot show the entire file hierarchy, and I can't see the file it's looking for, 'cause it gets cut off. How do I fix this?

I have never seen any mention of the type of message that you are describing. I am also quite curious about the cause.
One thing that you might try the next time you get such a message is to look in your system.log and console.log files. There might be a message issued in one of those files at the time that you get the message on the screen. These two files are available via the Console app in the Utilities menu. Click the logs icon at the upper left and you will be able to select one log or the other.

  • Bounced Files cut off at beginnings and endings.

    Hello,
I am having trouble with bouncing files from Logic. This is a simple cut and bounce from Logic to create track IDs on CD. The problem is, after the bounce, the beginnings and endings are truncated with the result of awful clicks between tracks. The regions are meant to run continuously, and they do, in Logic. When I line them up in the burner program, though, they are not the same region length.
I have already tried increasing the division and adjusting the tempo and meter settings in the transport. As far as I can tell, the regions are exactly as they should be. I also checked the beginning and end times of the selected region in the bounce dialog.
    What am I missing?

  • Captivate 5: Audio is cut-off at the end of the published file

    Hi,
I'm using Captivate 5. I published my projects to Flash 10 (SWF/HTM) format and the audio is always cut-off at the end. For example, if my last slide has this audio "Thank you for time and have a good day.", what you will hear is only "Thank you for your ti" or "Thank you for your time and have". This only happens on the published file. The audio is not cut-off when you preview the project.
    Here are additional observations:
-> If I published with playback controls, the audio is cut-off the first time i view the output; however, the second time I view the output or if I drag the playhead, the audio is no longer cut-off. The timing of the elements (mouse, highlights, audio, etc.) is also way better when I view it the second time versus the first time.
-> If I published without playback controls, the audio is always cut-off no matter how many times I view the flash file.
-> I have tested publishing to Flash with different # of slides (10 slides, 50 slides, 100 slides) and the result is the same. So I don't think it has something to do with the number of slides.
    > Note also that the last slide has enough audio to match the slide's length. So I don't know why it's cut-off.
Thank you in advance for your assistance.
    Regards,
    Rose

  • Icon previews - mp4 files

Leopard can show icon previews for mp4 files now. But most of my mp4 files start off with a few frames of blank screen - so my icons (when I choose to display them) are just an ugly little black square.
Anyone know if you can specify a frame of the mp4 movie that you want to use as the icon??
    Thanks.

Actually, I've just answered my own question!
    A bit long-winded...
Start to play the mp4 in Quicktime.
Pause at a suitably artistic moment in the action.
Shift-cmd-4 to take a selection of the screen and grab it as a file (I have my system set so it grabs it as a jpg.)
    Open that jpg in Preview.
Select some of the image and cmd-C to copy it
Cmd-I to open the 'info' on the file in question.
Highlight the icon in the top left corner.
Cmd-V to 'overwrite' that with the image you have just put on your clipboard.
It works! But like I said, it does seem a VERY circuitous route.
Also seems to highlight the fact that you can use any size of jpg image as an icon. Is this something new in Leopard?
Anyway, I'm sure there's a clever person out there who knows how to do this 'properly'...?
