Audio in timline, please simplify for me...
Hey guys, Steve from England, I am used to premeiere elements 10 and when my film is on the timeline and i want to adjust the audio as i go along, i simply move the sliders and adjust and it stays like that without any further adjustments. Now in cs6 prem pro new to it? i have 4 audio tracks and three video tracks, during vows and speeches i am adding music and want to reduce at certain points with the sliders, but the thing is i have to watch the whole dam movie again to change track 1, then watch again for track 2 and so on, its driving me nuts. There must be a dam simpler way like elemnts 10 that uses just one slider, cmon guys this is supposed to be easier than elements or am i stupid...Help
I've also never used Elements. Also never use the "Audio Mixer" in Premiere - I just use keyframes in the audio clips to adjust volume levels right in the timeline.
On each audio track, hit the twirly to open up the audio track to see the waveform, and there is a yellow line running across and that is the volume. Click and drag up or down with mouse to affect volume. Use Ctrl-click to add a keyframe (node) to the yellow line. Add two of these close together and then drag the second one down to "ramp down the volume", two more later to "ramp up" again. That is how I control levels for multiple audio tracks on weddings and stage events using 3 or more mics.
I do believe in the audio mixer that you can "latch" the audio so that you can adjust on the fly while playing video and your changes will be added to the timeline, but probably kind of hard to manage in realtime with multiple tracks. Like I said, I just don't use the mixer at all, never have. I just work my way along the timeline previewing and adjusting as I go.
Another little trick for audio - rather than ramping the sound up and down with keyframes, maybe you want the audio ON, then OFF, such as when switching mics in a wedding edit. You can just use the Razor to put a cut where you want to fade out a mic, then drag volume all the way down on clip segment following the cut, and drop an audio dissolve onto the cut to fade it smoothly, and you can adjust length of that transition as needed. So more than one way to do things.
Note that if you use the "MultiCam" feature to edit the video, you only get one track of audio and still need to go back later and rework all of that, so I don't even use MC and just do it all in my timeline. There's not really a right or wrong way, just whatever methods you are comfortable using.

My audio/sound has been erratic for a while, both output and input, sometimes one would worked but not the other and sometimes both would be none excitant.
System preference does not show what I have connected aka external speakers or headset and the sound output in menu is grayed plus the output on system preferences output as well, sound input looks ok now.
Had Tiger, so I upgraded to Leopard to see if that would helped, Output use to come back after a while, however now input works but output hasn't worked for days, I can hear sound when I am rebooting or starting the computer, but its gone right after.
Since the Mac its fame for their audio stability, no ones seem to know how to solve the problem, so I am kinda desperate.
I have tried the following; ran repair permissions, looked for fluff lol!....still cannot fix the glitch. Any new ideas please!!
Thanks in advance!Since the problem existed before installing Leopard, it is clearly a hardware problem. Updating a broken system does not fix it, in fact many times it makes it worse or at least harder to diagnose.

I just reinstall Window XP on my compaq presario r4000 notebook, and I download
all the drivers from HpCompaq offical website. But the audio driver
does't work for my "Conexant AC-Link Audio

Once installed, do a right click on the file sp30578.exe, select 7-Zip/extract the files and then click OK.
Force the installation of the driver manually:
In the device manager, right click on the audio controller, and select Update driver.
Select install from a list or specific location Do not search. I will choose the driver to install.
Click on next, Have Disk, and browse.
Select the cpl3085a.inf file in the uncompressed folder sp30578, and then click Open.
Click on OK, next and finish.
Restart the computer.

Can you suggest me that what should i do in this case.
Actually i am having one table that is a MasterTable.I am referring this table in more than 300 tables that means i am having foreign key of this primary key in 300+ tables.
due to this i am getting following error during deleting any row,
doesn't matter that data is existing in reference table or not.

3. Is it right to create Foreign key on each table where i am saving data of this master. if no then how to manage integrity.
4. What people do in huge database when they wants to create foreign key for any primary key.
5. Can you suggest me that how DBA's are handling this in big database,where they are having huge no. of tables.The most common reason of getting such error is having more than 253 foreign key constraints on a table.

optimizer to process. If you are on 32 bit, then you might want to move to 64 bit to get little bigger stack space but eventually having 300 FK is not something which would work in long run.

I did similar recently, when my wife was nominated in the "Top 100 People in Healthcare." I fired up every computer that I had around here, and cast my vote. Had to install a browser onto two. Did not think about sticking more browsers on all of them. I used to have a box with about a dozen different ones, to test Web page design. Unfortunately, that box is long gone, and so are most of those archaic browsers.

PS if you ever do a re-edit of that, you might want to think about putting in an ambience track, between the scenes that have so much ambient noise - just something in the background so you don't from full ambient (like the pool) to the nearly silent passages on either side.
If you ever need any ambience tracks, let me know (you know how to reach me), as I have tons and we're bound to find a few that would be just perfect. Some are still in WAV, but I did convert many to MP3 (not my favorite format), because storage of these was becoming a bit of a problem. I usually strip out Audio from much of my general travel footage, so we have things like traffic in Picadilly Square going L to R, R to L, busses, scooters, high-powered motorcycles, quiet parks, oars in a quiet lake, etc., etc. There are some amusement parks and fairs too. -

Then, also in the first class, create your StringBuffer BEFORE the loop and "delete(0,result.length());" within the loop. This speeds it up and makes for a better comparison.
Next, increase your loop size to something that will produce more consistent results (I used half a million).
Lastly (or approximately so, at least) change the first part of your first class - using String - to the following:

i opened up a radio site that i used to listen to on my old computer, but when i opened the site up, it said it needed a plugin, then it couldn't find the plugin and said unknown plugin (audio/x-mpegurl) please help!

Thank you for the help. Every app on my phone was downloaded using my old I-tunes ID. I just hope that they will re-download under my new ID because I still can't change it on my phone. In order to change to the new ID it says I have to sign out from the old ID and change to the new one. My problem is that I don't remember my password to be able to sign out from my old ID. Then the phone says it can change my password through e-mail and I agree but I never get an e-mail at my old address or the new one.

How do I export detached audio files as separate files, for Pro Tools processing?
My project is a live band performance. I have every song as a separate Event with associated audio. I have detachd all the audio from all the video Events. I now want to Export the audio files to Pro Tools for editing, then Import the edited audio back into FCP X and snap the edited audio to the associated video Events.
My problem is this: FCP X keeps exporting the audio as a single large WAV file, rather than as separate WAV files. In fact, the video events are separate, and so the audio associated with the video Events are separate.
I first renamed the Role of every audio file as "Music", then did a Share --> Export Media of all "Music" audio Roles. After exporting, I found it was one large WAV file, rather than separate files of different sizes.
As a 2nd try, I created Sub-Roles for each audio clip, and named each one with a distinct Sub-Role name. I then Exported all these Sub-Roles (yes, tedious). The result was that every exported WAV file was the same size, the same as the file size in my first try. The only audio that could be heard in each file was the audio in that particular song, but FCP X still created the very large file with silence in all the rest of the file. Since the file lengths don't match the original audio fil lengths, there will be a problem when I Import the edited files back into FCP X and want to Snap them into place.
Question:
How can I export the individual detached audio clips as separate files, the length of each file equaling the length of the original audio file in FCP X?
Do I need to separate the detached audio into separate Layers visually in the Project Timeline, so they are not touching? Or does this matter?

You need to explore Compound Clips. This workflow may or may not be of help.
Select an Event with clips in it and press Option+G to make a (blank) compound clip.
Select the Event Browser, create a new Event and call it 'Effects'.
Drag the Compound Clip into this Event.
Right-click the clip and select 'Open in Timeline'.
Select the timeline and press Option+W. This will add a Gap Clip to the timeline.
Select the gap clip and press Ctrl+D then type in the duration you want the clip to be.
Now open a project and select and copy one of the clips with effects etc.
Open the Compound Clip in the Timeline again, select the gap clip and press Option+Cmd+V to paste the effects into your Compound Clip.
This clip is now saved in your Browser and will remain there for you to copy and then paste the effects into any clip in any project.
It's a bit clunky, but it works - and once you learn about Compound Clips, you can work wonders with them. As an example, if you want to add more effects without overwriting the effects in the Compound Clip, simply make the Compound Clip into a Compound Clip (again) and add the effects. They will be added to the original effects.

Feature Request - Please allow for a "classic" view option.
Please allow for a "classic" view option like you have in Mail. Miss the sidebar that had a list of all the calendars using. The pop up list is not nearly as functional. iCal in Lion may be great for touch screen users but is a step back on the intuitive scale for Mac users.
Also, the delete / revert button are too close to the done button. Too easy to hit on accident.This is a good feature request and should be submitted here: Adobe - Feature Request/Bug Report Form

Hi I was in the procces of uploading photos from my phone three days ago as i have an important art project to finish today. I have tried to restart my computer log off come back on but every time i put my phone to the computer and press up load photos its comes up with "Photos are baeing import to photo library- please wait for import to complete".
There are 90 photos and this came after it uploaded a few - can you help me - i have tried to quit iphone but this keeps coming up and i need these pics imported from my phone to my computer.

I recently looked at this question with a customer who has been running 8.2 and needs to get some features in newer code. We decided that it made more sense to go to 8.4 than to 8.3.

I have issues with shutting down machines. When machine is connected to company's LAN everything works fine. However, if machine is connected to VPN - Juniper NC - 1 hour or more it always hangs when it is shutting down. When I shut down the machine
(verbose mode on), first stage is:
Please wait for the system Event Notification service.
This ends exactly
after 3 minutes. Next stage:
Please wait for the group policy client windows 7
...is never timed out (even after few hours). Machine never shuts down.
In Application logs there are always these 4 events when machine is unsuccessfully shutting down:
6005: The winlogon notification subscriber <Sens> is taking long time to handle the notification event (Logoff).
4627: The COM+ Event System timed out attempting to fire the Logoff method on event class {D5978650-5B9F-11D1-8DD2-00AA004ABD5E} for publisher and subscriber . The subscriber failed to respond within 180 seconds.
The display name of the subscription is "ISensLogon2". The HRESULT was 80010002.
6006: The winlogon notification subscriber <Sens> took 180 second(s) to handle the notification event (Logoff).
6005: The winlogon notification subscriber <GPClient> is taking long time to handle the notification event (Logoff).
Sens is timed out after 3 minutes while there is no 6006 event for GPClient and machine is stuck there for ages (Please wait for the group policy client
stage). I noticed in System logs that machine always hangs if there is this error
5783: The session setup to the Windows NT or Windows 2000 Domain Controller \\server for the domain X is not responsive. The current RPC call from Netlogon on \\machine to \\server has been cancelled.

I tried with signing out from VPN before shutting down machine, I even switched off WiFi but machine still hung. If i tried to get GP results before shutting down machine it takes ages and it is stuck in "Getting the user name" stage.
Gpupdate /force never updates policy (It stops at Updating Policy...). I tired with installing different hotfixes which did not resolve the issue. I never have any
issues with logging in, no GP scripts are applied when user is logging off or on, no roaming profiles. The only issue is when machine needs to be shut down.
I excluded 1 machine from GP and left it on VPN for a few hours, several times. It always shuts down successfully. I applied GP back one by one and the one which is presumably causing an issue is Avecto which adds admin rights when VPN application
starts (event 100):

I guess there is a DNS issues when machine is on VPN which leads that GP cannot be applied / updated. Not sure if or why Avecto would have an impact on this. When machine is trying to shut down it still somehow thinks it is connected to DC. What
I also noticed are several explorer crashes while machine is on VPN.
Does anyone have same issues? All machines are Dell with Juniper NC (VPN).

According to event log, Winlogon process takes a long time to handle logoff event. That's to say winlogon process is waiting for response to logoff.
According to your description after, this problem is most probably caused by Avecto. You can try to disable or uninstall it temporarily for test.
To make further troubleshoot with this problem, you can try to use WPT (Windows Performance Tool) to make troubleshoot.

All my Windows operating Systems are set to use the UI Culture: German
With Update-Help or Save-Help you can download PowerShell help in different (any) language by use of the –UICulture parameter.
Update-Help –UICulture en-US
Because my Windows OS is set to use the German UI Culture and the Cmdlet Get-Help depends on it, I cannot access PowerShell help in a different Language (English) with Get-Help.
There is still no translated German PowerShell help and even if I have installed the en-US verbose Help files I cannot use it (easily)!
I made a suggestion on Microsoft Connect to add the –UICulture Parameter to the Get-Help Cmdlet, to make it possible to call Help in a different language then the Windows Ui Culture.
As a workaround until then you can use the .NET Class [System.Threading.Thread]::CurrentThread.CurrentUICulture to set the UI Culture and get Help in a different language.

Iv just introduced midi into my studio im running logic9 and have brought Midiman Aniversary 4in 4 out to my set up midi is running well but i cannot seem to mute or solo midi regions an isolate them from the audio can someone please help me Murray.

You don't say what your version of Windows you have. Assuming XP, go to Start | Run, type DXDIAG and click OK. Click the Sound tab and run the tests to eliminate a hardware problem first of all. If you don't hear anything, check your cables first of all. Also make sure "Mute" isn't checkmarked in your sound setup. You'll find that in Windows Control Panel.
Which browser do you use? If you have Firefox 4, sign up to the HTML5 trial @ http://www.youtube.com/html5
HTML5 is the latest video standard and doesn't require Flash player. Google is in the process of converting all its files to work with the new format. It may solve you problem. If you don't have Firefox 4, you can get it from here: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/fx/
IE8 doesn't support HTML5.
To clean out your temp files, go to Start | Run, type: CLEANMGR and click OK. Click OK again to start the utility. Tick all the boxes except "Compress old files" because the latter takes too long, and then click OK. You can run this utility any time you wish by the way.
The above steps will hopefully fix your problem. If not, post here again please.

Eep! shut down by itself and won't turn back on.
i just tried to wake my computer, but when i pressed the space bar it turned off immediatly. now when i try to turn it on nothing happens. no lights. no noise. there is definatly power coming from the outlet and power strip. i dont know what else to
