Audio inspector windows lost

I lost my inspector windows for all of the apps. like audio, color, voice over. Can someone help me. I have a dual monitor setup and sometime the stupid thing stay on the other monitor even if I'm not plug into it WIERD! so I have to plug into the other monitor and then drag them over to the macbook screen and now there gone. Any Help would be greatly appreciated.
I thing there like off of both the screens, but how can that be.

I am having the same issue with iMovie 7.1.1. I cannot see any of the editing palettes. When I switch to a different user account I can see the palettes so it is a vexing problem. I also use an external monitor with my 2.4 Ghz black Macbook and I thought the same as you in regard to the palette being on the external extended desktop, but for the life of me it will not appear. Frustrating.
Did you ever get the palettes back? I suppose I could reinstall iMovie but I wonder if there is a preference file somewhere that I could trash so the program could basically start over.

  • Can we specify Font size in the Inspector window?

I am a whiz at MS Word. I'm totally lost in Pages. My current dilemma is how to specify the size of my text in the inspector window. Is it possible?
Currently, the only way I can change the font size is by clicking Format > Font > Show Fonts > and making the change in the new window. Is that the only way?
Sigh. Here's hoping I can figure out Pages soon or I'll be stuck in limbo, juggling both a PC and a Mac.

You might want to explore the keyboard shortcuts.
⌘ +T will show your fonts. (Lot easier than using the menu.)
I also changed the increase font size shortcut from ⌘ + and - to ⌘ + > or <, just like Appleworks. You can change the shortcuts using the keyboard system preference.
    <ol type=>
Choose Apple menu > System Preferences and click Keyboard & Mouse.
    Click Keyboard Shortcuts.
To disable a shortcut, deselect the checkbox next to its description in the list.
To change the key combination for a shortcut, select the character in the Shortcut list. Type a new shortcut by holding down the key combination that you want to use instead.
Tip: You cannot use each type of key (for example, a letter key) more than once in a key combination.
Quit and restart any applications you are using for the new keyboard shortcut to take effect.

  • OT: looking for Logic Audio for Windows XP

Apologies for the crass request, but I'm looking a cheap copy of Logic Audio that will run on Windows XP. I just found some old Logic Audio recordings I did years ago, but I've lost my LAGW 4 CD, and in any case, I'm not sure if LAGW 4 even worked on Windows XP .... I've come to love Macs at work, but I haven't saved enough to make the move at home.
    Thanks,
    Kevin Murphy

I assume the key you refer to is analogous to the dongle I have for LAGW, and it sounds as if you are not willing to part with yours . I don't care much about stability, since my main interest at the moment is to do an audio track dump (with edits) and MIDI export so I can continue working in Cubase in the near term. Contact me at [email protected] if you are willing to help me out. Otherwise, I'll keep looking. It's frustrating ... there must be many thousands of people out there with unused copies of Logic Audio for Windows, especially since it was never very stable, even on Windows 95 .

  • Audio adjustment window disappeared

i have been working in imovie '08 and one day my audio adjustment window was there and the next it wasn't. Any ideas? i am a rookie and honestly don't know much about this computer, so any help would be great! thanks!

The only thing I had done right before this issue arose was this:
As this was clearly becoming  large project I bought a 2TB RAID drive to dedicate to it. The entire project was on a smaller, more congested drive. I hooked up the RAID and moved the entire project over to it. I changed no file names and FCP was not running when I did it. I put the original Events/Project folders in a new folder so as not to confuse FCP when I relaunched it. FCP itself and all its ancillary files remained in place on my system drive.
When I opened FCP everything was fine and I even did some work on the project. It wasn't until I stepped away from it and then returned that I lost first the audio meters, then the scrubbing buttons and now--new revelation--many clips in the Events library claim to be missing. It's as tho this project is slowly, incrementally dissolving!
An odd twist: I just switched back to the original version of this project thru the various folder swaps necessary and the job, its cilps and the audio functions are back in place. Can't understand this. The Project/Events folders of the respective versions have identical contents. (except for that small bit of work I did right after the move)
At present, the audio functions have returned in full but the clips remain reported as missing. As a side note, another major ongoing project, the folders/files of which were not touched, remain fully functional in FCP.
    I'm at a loss.

  • Audio meters window disappeared

Subject line pretty much states it. I launched FCPX this morning to and suddenly the audio meters window was blank; like the space for it was in the window layout but it was blank gray. I went to the Windows menu and the selection was Hide Audio Meters. Were I to select it the blank area would slide away just as it should. Select Show Audio Meters and the blank window reappears.
I've restarted the app several times; restarted the computer. Didn't help.
    Thoughts?

  • Where is the inspector window in the new pages 5.0?

I am having a serious problem trying to manage this new version of Pages. Something that I simply loved in the old version was the Inspector Window that just vanished. How can I have it back or how can I return to the old version? Is that possible?

It's gone- one of many features stripped out in this new version.  Best bet is to continue to use Pages 09 from a previous save of your Doc- I hope you kept a backup becuase not everyone's having great luck "exportings as 4.3" to get the old version of a document back.
FYI, the old Pages remains in the iWork Folder in your Applications Folder.

  • Pages '09: The inspector window doesn't open any more - no idea why

Don't know what and when something went wrong. But I can't open the inspector window anylonger. Any idea?

Usually the problem is that the Inspector window is hiding under something else, such as a Help window.

  • Video effects (none button) does not exist in inspector window

New to iMovie 09.  Only issue I am having so far is finding the video effects.  I select a clip and then open the inspector window.   But when I click on "Clip", there is no "None" button to open the effects window.  It only shows some info on "Stabilizatoin".  Nothing else.  Under the "Video" button are the exposure and color adjustments, etc.
I am sure I am overlooking something simple, but I have read through all documentation and this forum and nothing seems to be working.  I have set "Show Advanced Options" from preferences.
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated !

If you select the clip then hit Letter "i" for Inspector, you'll get a window that roughly looks like this (bottom half is missing because clipped it off). What you are most interested in clicking on is the Video Effect: pulldown menu. When you click on it, the Inspector flips around and gives you thumbnail images of all the video fx you can apply. I have iMovie '11, not '09 so your version might look slightly different.

There are many possible causes for this issue. Take each of the following steps that you haven't already tried. Some may not apply to your model. Back up all data before making any changes.
    1. Start with the steps recommended in this support article. Don't skip any of the steps. It's the starting point for further efforts to solve the problem.
    2. Run Software Update and make sure you have a fully up-to-date installation of OS X.
    3. If you've installed an application called "Memory Clean" or any other third-party software that is supposed to "clean" or "purge" memory automatically, remove it according to the developer's instructions and restart. You should do that even if the software is not causing the problem, because it's useless.
    4. Other third-party software that has been reported to interfere with sound output includes "Boom" and "Samsung Kies." If applicable, uninstall according to the developer's instructions (not by dragging something to the Trash.)
    5. If an AirPlay device is selected for sound output from iTunes (or from other applications via third-party software such as "Airfoil"), deselect it.
    6. Launch the application "Audio MIDI Setup" by entering the first few letters of its name in a Spotlight search and selecting it in the results (it should be at the top.) Select Built-in Output from the list on the left. If the Mute boxes are checked, uncheck them.
    7. If a red light is visible in the audio-out port when sound should be playing, the internal switch is stuck in the position for digital output. You may be able to free it by inserting and removing a mini-stereo jack of the proper size. Inserting any kind of tool in the port may cause damage that won't be covered by your warranty.
If there's no red light, the switch may still be stuck in the headphone position. Try to free it the same way.
    8. Disconnect all wired peripherals except keyboard and mouse, if applicable. If more than one display is connected, disconnect all extra ones. Restart and test.
    9. If you have a MacBook Air, turn off Bluetooth and restart.
    10. Start up in safe mode. Don't log in; just restart as usual when the login screen appears. When you do, make sure the words "Safe Boot" do not appear in the login screen. If they do, the system is still in safe mode and sound won't work.
    11. Reset the NVRAM.
    12. Reset the SMC.
    13. Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
    /Library/Preferences/Audio
Right-click or control-click the highlighted line and select
Services ▹ Reveal in Finder (or just Reveal)
from the contextual menu.* A folder should open with an item selected. Move the selected item to the Trash. You may be prompted for your administrator login password. Restart the computer and empty the Trash. Recreate your settings in the Sound preference pane.
*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination  command-C. In the Finder, select
              Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar and paste into the box that opens by pressing command-V. You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.
    14. Reinstall OS X after backing up all data.
    15. Make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store.
