Audio interface not working with Mavericks

I know this has been asked before, but I only just got Mavericks and it won't recognise my M-Audio MobilePre as an output source. I've tried installing new drivers but it didn't work. Now I have $800+ of equipment that I can't use. Is there anything else I can try to fix it? Or can I downgrade my OS?

I think it's something you need to take up with Avid.
Firstly, do Avid support the hardware on Mavericks? If they do, then that means it's a unique problem which hopefully can be fixed.
Secondly, are any relevant messages being logged when you access System Preferences > Sound or Audio MIDI Setup? Open Console utility, and have a look. You can filter for particular search terms, but start by looking at the time you do it.

Audio interfaces not working in mavericks ?

Interfaces are recognized and output signal just fine but the input signal breaks up after an undetermined amount of time. Tried it with year old scratlett interface, and now with an apogee duet and the same glitch occurs. Thus it is not a flaw in the audio interfaces. The glitch must be fixed. Immediately. For a new system to not support a basic interface is totally unnacceptable. Fix it. Fix it now.

The fact that you're getting results with that interface is reassuring.
For $30 it would be worth it for me to pick one up just to see if it works with my mac.
I'm starting to suspect driver/firmware issues with the pro-audio stuff, since Apogee, Focusrite, Roland, Tascam and others are all issuing "Mavericks" patches, with varied results.
As far as powered hubs, passive hubs, etc. as discussed in the 2 threads you indicated, I've been through it all for about a month.
Can you tell me what clock source is the UCA222 using? (default or external)
You can find this in Audio MIDI Setup utility.
Also, did you install any drivers/firmware as found on this page?

Try uninstalling all the software and driver(s) from the interface manufacturer and restart your mac. Then plug your interface in and see if it will work.
I have a (different manufacturer) audio USB interface which never worked with any of the drivers from the manufacturer, with either Mountain Lion or Mavericks. Support at the manufacturer kept sending me beta drivers, none would work. I uninstalled everything and my Mac's generic audio capablilties were enough to "see" the interface and use it.

I have been using an M-AUDIO usb interface for garageband for the last year,i recently installed logic express 8 and i just can't get any sound whilst trying to record,logic displays a signal in the channel strip but no sound comes from my monitors,only when i plug the ear phones into the interface can i hear what i'm recording.I've tried every trouble shooting option in my apple pro training book like monitoring and audio preferences.I've contacted M-AUDIO but they just put me on hold as if there really busy!!!
in the end M-audio emailed me and blamed logic,they told me to contact apple,W@**ERS!!
I'm new to this apple discussions business and hope someone can help!!

Welcome to the wonderful world of M-Audio!!! Now, what you are doing is perfectly NORMAL. You need to hook up speakers to your audio interface. Where the little diagram says so:

See? The reason this is so, is because when you are using this interface, you are BOTH using the inputs AND outputs. Logic always works like this, it is a requirement to use "a full-duplex sound card" which means a sound card that has inputs and outputs.

I'm surprised you get no message when you attempt opening the Excel document in Numbers.
I'm assuming Numbers 3.1, since you are running Mavericks.
Does the Numbers file that opens show any content?
Does it contain a table?
How large?
Does it contain more than one tab (indicating more than one sheet)?
Do those other tabs contain a table?
Have you checked those tables for data content?
There have been cases in the past of imported documents opening with white text on a white background, giving the appearance of containing nothing. Check for this by selecting a block of cells, then applying a Fill colour or a Text colour using the Format button (paintbrush).
I'd also suggest attempting to open the Excel files using LibreOffice, which can be downloaded from the linked website.

How do I stop the download of Maverick on my MacBookPro? I started downloading then discovered that 2008 Word and Excel do not work with Maverick. I have too many files in the 2008 version to upgrade them at this time. I just need instructions in non technical terms to stop the Maverick download.

I did the same as Tapmr and have paused the "upgrade". So am I to understand that the upgrade only downloads and will not automatically install it? I am an extreme novice here, and cannot afford any issues after I upgrade/download. I don't know how to make a clone copy as you suggested either.
I need assurance that if the upgrade is allowed to continue that I will be able to delete the upgrade downloaded and continue on as before with my regular system.

The Mac running Snow Leopard should be able to configure virtually any version of the AirPort Express.

ESATA express card does not work with Mavericks. Any suggestions?

This is an Apiotek II 300 Express Adapter. I went out to Apiotek.com and it appears the domain is for sale. Is there any way to get a software update or do I have to buy a new Express Card that allows eSATA drives to work with Mavericks. I did a backup before I upgraded using X 10.7.5 and everything worked fine. The eSATA drive is not seen using Disk Utility either.

The driver has to come from the manufacturer of the card, so your two options are to get another card or to use your full backup to go back to 10.7.5. That assumes it's a clone backup and not Time Machine.

Mics and audio interfaces that work with Camera Connector

FYI: After playing with the Camera Connector I have been able to connect USB recording gear for use with MultiTrack DAW app on the iPad. The Blue Yeti, Samson's GTrack and Roland's Cakewalk Audio Interface all work for inputting audio. All three have internal headphone jacks which work for monitoring both the input and multitrack recordings.
One caveat with the Yeti: it appears to be almost at the limit of the power that the iPad's USB Camera Connnector can supply. Some headphones and earbuds shut down the mic. Sennheiser HD280 phones work fine, but some of the Sennheiser buds don't.

Photoshop CS4 not working with Maverick?

I downloaded Maverick last night after using Photoshop CS4 all day. This morning when i tried to launch it, i got a message saying i needed to download Java SE 6 runtime. I said ok, it tries to install, but i keep getting the same error "Can not download software due to network error". I called Apple Support and they said if the software worked with Mountian Lion then it will work with Maverick I was told to call Acrobat. I did and they told me it was Apple's issue. After searching online it seems that it is Apple's issue. I tried downloading the SE 7 runtime that didn't work. Not sure what to do at this point. Any help would be apperciated.

Compressor not working with mavericks

My Compressor is not working with FCP get error code, and will not open, gives message can't use with OSX I have and have Compressor 4.0. Of course, Mavericks was free and now have to spend money to get new version of Compressor. No updates are showing in Apple Store. Anyone have a resolution or am I going to have to buy new Compressor?

Focusrite Saffire interface not working with FCP 4?

I can't seem to get my focusrite saffire audio interface to work properly with FCP? It works fine with all other apps (itunes, QT, Logic etc) and all the other Studio apps (Motion, DVD Pro and Soundtrack Pro) - but in Final Cut the sound is 'distorted' and 'jumpy'? All focusrite and FCP software is upto date.
Has anybody else had this sort of problem? Is anybody happily using the saffire with fcp? (I can't seem to find any on the search!)
it seems strange that it wont work with fcp but work with the other apps of the package? I can't see any sort of settings in fcp to solve this issue? Any help?!

I am actually only using it to play back audio 'syncd' with picture straight off camera or importing clips from quicktime/DVD's etc. in FCP - it is this that I can't hear correctly? (all the clips are fine by the way played in other aps etc)
Yes, editing is done in Soundtrack Pro or Logic Pro (used to have pro-tools mbox - but decided to ditch it and go down the Logic route with another interface!) - but I expect to be able to hear basic audio with picture in FCP?

USB Audio Interface not working anymore

I have a Presonus Audiobox USB Audio Interface. Worked perfectly until I updated to Mavericks, now I get a screeching noise when used and the sound switches to the built in Mac sound.
So then I reboot and it does it again. The Audio box doesnt have any software since its a plug and play. Any help?

Unable to get Saffire Pro 26 audio interface to work with Windows 8.1

Can anybody help with compatibility issues between Windows 8.1 (64 bit) and Focusrite Saffire PRO 26 audio interface? I'm using a Firewire PCIe Card. Focusrite registration page pointed me to an installer called saffire-pro-2.61.exe. This installer times
out on a page called 'Installing device driver (1 of 2) waiting for the Saffire PRO to be connected to the computer (The Saffire Pro device is connected and a powered up and appears in the Device Manager as a device called Focusrite SAFFIRE_PRO26 which is
listed under the Other devices section of Device Manager with a yellow exclamation mark which appears to be a catch 22 (after all I'm trying to install the drivers). No answer from Focusrite support (due to holidays). Many thanks for any help you can give

Brilliant. This has moved me on. I wasn't impressed when Focusrite registration presented me with drivers from 2011. You'll probably tell me finding the latest drivers is easy but somehow I failed to find anything in my panic. I have a second issue
now (Pro Tools 11.2.2 could not initialize the Saffire) but your response seems to have solved the first issue. Thanks!
