Audio is Muted after Cancelling Print to Video

I was in the process of Printing to Video, and then cancelled it. After doing so, now when I check my project on the timeline, there is no audio. I checked to see if the mute button was checked and it wasn't.
Any help on restoring audio would be appreciated.

Change the View>Video>Firewire to Real Time or Canvas playback.
Or close FCE remove the camera and re-open FCE.

  • No audio after I Print to Video...help!

After I have printed to video there is no audio attached to my edited sequences, even though during playback in the timeline there is obviously audio. When I print to video how do I make sure the audio goes along with it?

Monitor audio from the deck you are outputting to. Make SURE audio is being sent to the deck...if via firewire, make sure in the Audio/Video settings you have audio out set to firewire.

  • Printing to video

so i've been working on this project in final cut express hd and i'm trying to print to video, but no matter what i do it will not go back to the tape. i've watched the tutorial dvd that came with it and have done everything it says but it won't record back to my camera. everything is connected and when i hit print to vid it begins recording(turns my camera to record, but nothing appears on the screen. it just records blue.) the movie continues to play but wont export. please help!

I have a brand new 24 inch iMac with 4 gigs of RAM. I'm using a Sony HDR-HC3 high def mini DV camera. The setting for the media is Apple Intermediate Codec 1080i60. I have been able (though I'm not sure why) to get a picture recorded to the tape - I found an obscure setting buried in the camera's menus that should have been set to "no HDV iLink connection". But the picture I get is very small except for titles which are just the right size. I shot the video in High Def. I am connected to the computer via a firewire (400). I have a dedicated 250 gig LaCie hard drive. I am running FCE 3.5.1. After a print to video, the video on my timeline has changed to the smaller size and the titles are the right size. So when preparing for the download, the project is changed. I can't seem to change it back.
    Thanks!

  • Having trouble with audio edit to tape, print to video ok

Hi all, please go easy on me, this is my first post.
I am having difficulty getting audio on to tape via 'edit to tape'.
The hardware is blackmagic decklink extreme, feeding component video and analoge audio to a UVW-1800P.
I can do a print to video on a crash record and the audio works that way, but edit to tape does not.
I have tried both deck link and built in audio in the audio settings and the FCP a/v settings, seperate and ganged output settings, I have set the insert settings to 2 channel Sony, reloaded the decklink drivers.
The irritating thing is the audio is there whilst cutting, but as soon as I try edit to tape there is complete silence. The important thing is that it worked a few weeks back but does not now, it must be a setting?
Thanks in advance for your help.
This machine I am working with this week is an Intel MacPro running FCP 5.1.2 and Mac OS 10.4.8

I had this same problem and this resolved it for me:
-Go to your "Settings" icon and click on the "General" tab.
-About 2/3 way down the page you will see "Use side switch to:" - make sure "mute" is checked rather than "lock rotation."
-Then make sure the side switch, located next to the volume toggle switch on the side of your ipad, is moved to the right (no red dot showing).
My audio worked fine in embedded videos after I did those two things.  Hope it works for you.

  • Audio issues -- Print to Video

Audio is good as print to video starts, but either drops out all together, or goes out of sync after 30 minutes or so.
Thanks for your time in advance.

    Have you tried goat sacrifice?
The results for you may vary - but not for the goat.
If that does not help, we can progress to the Graduate solution. As Dustin Hoffman learns as the Graduate, " one word for you - audio mixdown".
Ok, so its two words and that isn't what they said anyway ... still, try to compress down the number of audio tracks (audio mixdown) to ease the computing demands on output. Also, make sure all areas where there is audio are covered by video - for example - put a black slug in the video track if you fade to black in an area where there is still audio running under.
If these don't work for you, it would help us enormously if you gave some basic info about your project. FCP version? Media type? VTR? compexity of edits? you know the stuff...
    cheers

  • Print to Video - Audio Level

We just sent a Commercial out to the Cable Company.
In FCP our timeline/project audio levels were carefully watched so they did not peak at more than -12db.
When we did a Print to Video so we could Master it to DV Tape for delivery (per their standards), we set the Bars & Tone at :30 seconds & -12db.
When we re-captured the video to test it out... the Bars & Tone played at -24db and the program played at -12db. Naturally, this concerned us because we were scared that our program's Audio Levels would not be up to par.
-Normally (in Avid) I would have Bars & Tone on my timeline set to :30secs & -12db... then capture from my timeline with all levels peaking at -12db.
What should our levels be set at during a Print to Video operation in FCP if our timeline/project is set at -12db?

I suspect I would not even peak at -3 dBFS. If I am using 24 bit, you have a long way to the noise floor, which means after the fact it is easy to raise the levels if required without adverse consequences.
If I am in the Analog domain, with a decent mixer with headroom, coming near 0dB I believe is harmless, as 0dB will translate out to -18 ot 20 dBFS ( I am sure this varies from mixer to mixer ) - harmless if your mixer does not clip and has headroom above 0dB. I use a Mackie 1640, which has +18 dB of headroom.

Basics from the User Guide are restart, reset, restore from backup, restore as NEW.  Unless you've tried ALL of these, you're not done troubleshooting.

  • Weird audio issue when printing to video

I am attempting to dub a couple of old projects to tape using the Print to Video command (firewire connection to Panasonic DVX-100A MiniDV camera). I have used this method many times in the past with success. However, I have now tried two different projects tonight and had the same strange issue: The project plays back perfectly normally in the timeline, through the computer speakers, but when I Print to Video, there will be one part where a small audio "blip" can be heard. It sounds like either a snippet of tone or the sound of un-rendered audio... except it's all rendered.
Anybody have any suggestions? It's really weird that it plays back something different in Print to Video than it does in regular playback... Any help is appreciated.

That did it, thanks! I feel kind of dumb, I've never used that function before. Is that something I should have been doing all along? Anyway, thanks again. It's nice to get a response and have it work on the first try. So refreshing.

  • Loosing audio when printing to video

    I'm working with FCE HD 3.0. I use a Powermac G5-2x1.8. Memory: 3 GB.
    Systemdrive: 150 GB.
    Internal scratchdrive: 280 GB.
System: Mac OSX 10.3.9. My camera is a Sony HDR-HC3.
My scratchdisk is filled with 188 GB.
I edited a 40 min. movie. When I play the timeline everything is fine.
When I print to tape I lose some parts of teh musictracks (track 5 and 6), Sometimes I even loose little parts of the clipsound (track 1 and 2).
Befor I print to video I render video and audio, use 'mixdown' and refresh videodevice.
How to get a good result?
    G5-2x1.8   Mac OS X (10.3.9)

    Hi(Bonjour)!
If there is a song bought on iTune Music Store, you can't use this track.
Did you render an audio mixdown before export ?
Try a test version with just one minute of movie. (set in and out point in timeline and do the print to tape operation).
Try a print to tape from a cold start mac.
Drag your playhead around your sequence before printing (it's seem that this process load the cahe memory, at least in my own experience)
If the problem is still there, you can also do an audio track mix quicktime conversion export (aiff 16 bit) from your sequence, import it into a new sequence, open your previous edited one in editor (option clik), do uncheck audio A1 and A2 target, and drag the video content on V1 in the new sequence. Drag your exported audio on A1 A2.
Do a check for the synch of your movie.
Do not forget to do an audio mixdown before print to tape.
Does your hard drive is fragmented or full at more than 80% level?

  • After Effects rendering the video with the audio out of sync

so, the thing is, i did the animation on flash, exported it, put it on after to edit audio and what not, everything looks fine, previews are good, so, lets render!... every time i render the final video have the audio out of sync, specially the audio that is already on the first video. the video its originally on 12 fps, if i change the interpretation to 24fps, everything get worse. any help?

ok, both Flash and After effect are CS6, i have a Lenovo Ideapad, can handle 64 bits
first i exported the video on .MOV from Flash CS6, without any problems
Then i finished the edition on After Effects, everything look good.
i have tried to render it on MOV, AVI, MP4 and the audio for the video that was exported from flash always get out of sync. i dont really move anything else

  • Audio during Call is muted after Switch-off of Pho...

    1. Pair with Car infotainment system,
    2. Connect as BT Audio & as a BT handsfree kit,
    3. Switch off bluetooth without disconnecting (or unpairing) with Car's Audio Infotainment System.
    4. make an incoming or outgoing call after phone's BT switch off.
    Expected: Call should be normal.
Actual: Call is in progress but audio is muted from phone's speaker because Nokia 5230 is still assuming BT paired device presence.
    Recovery: Phone switch OFF-ON

This is not how bluetooth is suppose to work and especially with such an awesome phone MBalmer. What bluetooth device do you have? Did you purchase your bluetooth device from? Let's try removing the connection with your bluetooth and phone completely and then reconnect them. Does the disconnection occur in certain spots? Are you using a special application for bluetooth? I look forward to hearing from you so we can get ths resolved.

  • Print-To-Video audio beeps

I'm printing a sequence to tape and all is going fine until, at one spot, I hear a few seconds of audio beeps. It's similiar to when audio tracks aren't rendered.
I went back to my sequence, but there's nothing there to be rendered. I play through the sequence and there're no audio beeps.
Any idea why this would occur when I do a print-to-video?
    Thanks.

How many audio playback real-time tracks are set in User Preferences, and how many tracks are there at that point in the sequence?
Try adding a couple or four tracks in User Preferecnes and see if that squares it away.

  • I've tried 2 different screen capture devices, and in both cases, audio stops recording after 20 or 30 seconds, but video is fine.  The audio disappears

I've tried 2 different screen capture devices, and in both cases, audio stops recording after 20 or 30 seconds, but video is fine.  The audio disappears with both programs.  Does anyone know what is happening with my audio capture?

Update, I took the webcam home over the weekend and tried on my home network and the outcome was the same video fine - audio delayed, is this a Skype for desktop issue?

  • Print to Video - No Video, but Have Audio

I have a Sony DSR-45A Deck and having issues.
I'm able to log and capture fine and able to print to video. However, when I go to print to video, it starts recording and I get the audio, but no video signal. I don't even have signal when I turn the external video on.
I used it earlier this week and was working fine. It has happened before and I've just restarted and it was fine. Any ideas? The video I printed to Video this week doesn't work, so know it isn't a frame rate issues.
Thanks for any help or suggestions. I've been reading all morning and can't find any one with this problem.
    Kris

If you're getting audio but no video, make sure the deck is set to accept the proper video format (DV-CAM?) in.
Also, you may have to reset things by shutting everything down, plugging your firewire cable in first, then turning on the deck, and then starting up the mac and launching fcp.

  • No audio when I print to video

Video is fine, in AV settings I have Firewire audio selected. Audio sounds fine from timeline but when I print to video i get nothing not even a tone with bars at beginning of print down. I've tried different cameras so I'm thinking it is a setting in FCP that I don't have right... Any suggestions? could something like this be the cable I'm using or a weird Firewire problem like not enough power because too many devices are plugged in? I know that the "official" word is (with puffed out chest) Firewire can handle up to blah blah blah devices, But my experience with Firewire is that it is finicky. So, just wondering if it could be something like that. Off to do some experimenting...
Ive tried unplugging all other firewire devices and works fine on my powerbook with what seems to be the same settings...?

    Hi,
It appears from what I found online that there are some A/V settings you should check before exporting your video.
