Audio issues and finalized swf pauses on it's own...

I downloaded a trial version of captivate to see if it would meet our eLearning needs. I've had nothing but trouble.
I'm using a Samson USB mic, whenever I record audio, I can see the audio file and waveforms, but during playback and publishing all I get is a "whammy" sound (for lack of a better word). I was able to work around by recording the audio in Audacity then importing into Captivate. However, if I recorded any more screen shots, I was back to the whammy sound and had to close out Captivate and reopen it to get to a working version.
Also, I exported a test file, and when it gets to slide 4, it pauses, you can view the rest of the demo by clicking through the table of contents, but I can't get it to play automatically like the first 3 slides. You can view the exported swf here:
http://www.cmhvideos.com/patientPortal/proxyDemo_demo.swf
Any help is greatly appreciated. I started my CP project as a demo. Not sure if that would have anything to do with it.

Have you tried restarting or resetting your iPad?
Restart iPad: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the red slider appears. Slide your finger across the slider to turn off iPad. To turn iPad back on, press and hold the Sleep/Wake until the Apple logo appears.
Reset iPad: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Ignore the "Slide to power off".

  • Iphone 4s audio issues and ringer screen stuck (picture included)

Earlier today I realized that when I made calls I couldn't hear anything unless I put it on speaker. If I get phone calls it also needs to be on speaker in order for me to hear anything. Earlier today I couldn't hear music on speaker but currently I can. About two months ago I was having a similar problem but people couldn't hear me unless I put it on speaker (I tried to reset it and restored it but nothing changed) so I took it in to apple and they connected it to something and it started working. on a side note about an hour ago  the ringer screen got locked and it is switching from "ringer headphones" to "ringer" and if I lower the volume it goes up by itself (this has never happened to me before. it hasn't had water damage, and I haven't dropped it in a long time.
    - I already tried to reset and restore it
    - I tried cleaning it
(I know other people have had similar problems so I just might have to take it to apple again )

i should also mention that the headphones audio works perfect whilst in a phone call and, no issues at all.

  • Audio issues and glitches using either Logic Pro 9 and iTunes library from OS 10.9

Since the new update to OS 10.9 have been experiencing some unwanted glitches with beach ball pop ups when working in logic pro 9.1.8 and itunes 11.1.3.
Can anyone tell me if this a troublesome Maverick OS 10.9 bug that needs fixing or am I just having trouble with logic pro 9, audio interface Apogee, or internal hard drive issues???
Your reply would be gratefully appreciated.

    Hi Guys
Thanks for your help, i've managed to solve the problem by myself
    Solution
    1. Start Logic in 64bit mode - see here for more info
    2. Open the crashing file
    3. The file will crash but this time you'll see a message on the pop dialog saying "32 Bit audio unitbridge quit unexpectedly while using the Massive plugin"
    4. Confirm the plugin name cousing problems in the error/crash report - look for this line; Plugin identifier:Massive.MusicDevice.componet - in this case, the Native Instrument Massive caoused the problem and had to bounce a short audio loop, I am lucky couse the AU wan on looping melodies. Try to reload the application in 32bit mode or use alternative.
    5. Problem solved

  • Audio Issues in Final Cut Pro 6

Recently working on a project, re-opened it the other day, to have the audio playing at a slowed rate if at all. Speed still says 100% and the problem occurs regardless the song or project I use. Any Ideas?

Make sure you don't have multiple cameras/decks (anything other than drives) connected to your computer.

  • Please help!!  I have an audio issue and am creating a slide show for a funeral.  I need a quick answer...

I have created an itunes playlist to use with a slideshow in iDVD.  However, there s an instrumental that is being inserted that I did not put there.  Why is that and how do I get it to stop?

    Hi
Have no idea on WHY but what I would do.
    • in iTunes - Burn out PlayList as an Audio-CD .aiff (no .mp3)
    • Use the files on this CD in Your SlideShow projects
I create my SlideShows in iMovie HD6 or FinalCut - never iMovie'08 or 09 or 11 as result is less than I accepts (they discard every second line when exporting to iDVD)

  • Bootcamp 3.1 and imac windows 7 64bit update not installing. Audio issues!

After many days of work getting the windows 7 working in bootcamp in my imac 27 (still with audio issues) I eagerly awaited the bootcamp update and imac updates.
    Neither will install.
Then I find that according to tech support as of now I have to reinstall Windows 7 again for the updates to work!
It took me 5 full 8 hours days to get all my scientific programs installed and working, now I find I can't even simply update the drivers I need. I don't want to reinstall.
    My only issues are audio.
    Here they are:
    1) The headset jack works fine on the Mac side, but in Windows 7, it causes the i7 intel CPU to go crazy. There is no CPU spike on the mac side.
    2) The headset jack in the imac is a trrs jack. The same as in the iphone, a tri-band jack that has three bands, two audio out channels and one mic in channel. A trrs headset works fine on the mac side with using the headset mic (as in iphone) rather than the built in mic. (this provides much better quality for sound recording). I don't want to use a usb mike.
In Windows 7 the mic part of the trrs headset does not work.
    3) In Windows 7 when going into audio devices recording, no audio mixer shows up, so when I do video or audio screen capture the only way to capture the sound is through the speakers and then back through the imac built in mic, rather than directly through the unit. (terrible sound quality) On the mac side the mixer element works fine.
Now I find from other imac users that even the new updates for the imac on windows 7 don't address and fix the audio issues. I am sure not going to go through 5 more days work only to find the audio issues still don't work.
I need these audio aspects to work properly though!
I have tried to get drivers for the cirrus logic audio card, but guess what there are none available and cirrus logic doesn't even recognize the board or offer drivers.
I have many windows programs I must have for my scientific research!I bought the top of the line Imac with all the bells and whistles because Apple promised that the machine could run Windows 7 in bootcamp natively!
It doesn't. This has been a nightmare of problems.
Is Apple going to step up to the plate and make good on their promises?
Does any one have a fix for any of the audio issues, or know how to install the new drivers without a complete reinstall of Windows?
Installing a few sound drivers and software should not require a complete reinstall. Getting the proper drivers for the headset jack audio in and audio out jack should be the most basic of fixes. Making the audio mixer work should be elementary.
If you are an Apple tech person or an Apple user that can help on these issues, please do!
    Thanks, Dr. Duke
    An American profesor in Europe.
PS I will post this under Imac windows 7 updates without a reinstall and under
    imac Sound issues.

On another thread a few people have responded saying that their imac has the same situation, the cpu is going crazy and the imac gets hot with headphones or speakers plugged in. But this doesn't happen in the mac side.
If you have an late 2009 imac and don't have these audio issues, let us hear from you. If you don't, lay out the problem here.
Here is my last two cents in to the inquiry.
Not only does the cpu run crazy but the imac 27 gets very, very hot. Since I unplugged the headphones, it runs much, much cooler.
Certainly, some Mac engineers should take care of this problem, it seems it is universal on all the imac 27's and from what I gather, the smaller screened cousins too.
Also, we certainly want a stereo mix option for audio in or out, or what is called "what you hear" or wave out. Imac is supposed to be much geared to multimedia apps.
Finally, the mic jack part of the trrs set up MUST be fixed! A lot of manufacturers are going to headset combo jacks as they call them, mic in and stereo out on the same tribanded plug. But, the old single jack for mic in and single jack for stereo out are two tiny parts of the hardware and super inexpensive for the manufacturer. Why in the **** to go to the "advanced" triplug if the **** thing doesn't work.
Mac has a great reputation. I hope they remedy these problems right away.
Anyone whose imac 27 or 24 whose headset plug is working correctly. Let us know! I don't think anyone's is, but I think that few people understand that their cpu is running so much faster with the plug in, plus few even understand the combo jack and the triband, or trrs audio jack! Out of 4 audio technicians I talked to, not one of them knew what a trrs jack was or that you even have a mic in jack as part of the headset jack!
When I told one senior that it worked on the Mac side, he didn't believe for a while, thought my sound might be recorded from the onboard mic, but I proved it to him by tapping iaudibly on my iphone mic headset and and it showing up in garage band clearly and listening to big difference in audio.
As for a usb audio adapter, I am in a neon light environment and find that those adapters are more sensitive to electrical interference. Besides I want to use the headset jack as it was meant to be used!
    Thats it.
Again, if anyone using an imac 27 and windows 7 64 or 32 doesnt have these problems, let us know! We are all anxious for a fix!
    Best to all!

  • Importing issues with Final Cut Pro X. Green flash and twitches while play back

Hello, I'm having some importing issues with Final Cut Pro X and I can't find any solution whatsoever. Perhaps my importing settings are wrong?
Anyways, I've done a lot of recordings on eye TV and HD PVR with some videos that are about 3 hours long. I exported them into H.264 files, which turns them into mpeg-4 files with AAC audio. Then I import them into final cut pro X and I notice it takes a long time for them to render the videos and I notice that there are some green screens and twitches while I play through the video.
Here is a screenshot of the green screen that I'm talking about:

Could it be my 2 video graphics card that is causing this kind of issues? Or is there any solution to fix this?
In the past, I've used iMovie 09 and it worked out perfectly. However, the new iMovie 11 is terrible because it automatically optimzie my 3 hour long videos into making the importing process to (144 hours long to import). Is there any way to get iMovie 09 back or am I stuck on dealing with this Final Cut Pro X issues?

  • My Ipad 2 external speakers does not work and headphones has popping sound. This all occured at the same time as my Iphone and Ipod headphones only played mono (no, the "mono" option is not on). How can there be audio issue for all these devices?

My IPad 2 external speaker does not work and the original headphones have popping sound when used. This all occurred at the same time as my IPhone and IPod headphones only plays mono (and no, the "mono" option is not on) with the original headphones, as well as, other headphones tested.  How can there be audio issue for all these devices at the same time?
As you may have noted from the list of Apple devices I own, I believed in the Apple and the products it was producing; but it is hard to believe from my experience and the other voices within the Apple Community that we are all experiencing the same hardware issues. Especially since I recently, I upgraded to an IPhone 4g (no, my faith in IPhone 5 series is very little) and is experiencing the same audio problem as described above. So now, I am off to the Apple store again to be told that it’s a hardware problem on new IPhone. Really? Apple, what happen to the pride in the product you were producing?

Everyone does things a little differently. I love to "jam " along with iTunes ( or old Lp's) . Always have. That's where/how I've learned to play .
I'm sure leonieDF is giving a proper way to jam along on a keyboard with an iTune. He blows my mind all the time with what he knows. Nuff respects to him !
What I do is make a GB project I call "Jam With". I'll make several new tracks that are blank. Just has a few instruments named in the blank tracks. You can change those per song ...
Because I'm not concerned about changing the pitch / key.... of the iTune or the tempo ... I can simply play along with it.

  • OS 10.4.10 Update Causing Audio Popping (AND HUM) Issues:

OS 10.4.10 Update Causing Audio Popping (AND HUM) Issues:
The problem on my Intel Mac mini with external Klipsch speakers (two mid-range/high and a subwoofer) is REAL obvious as the system emits a hum like a Spinal Tap amplifier turned up to #11 when 10.4.10 powers down the audio circuitry
Then, if I play a song in iTunes, it first pops and the hum disappears right before playing.
Quite annoying. I restored the mini from a recent backup to 10.4.9. Problem gone.
I'm glad I test updates on the mini before applying them to my Intel iMac 24. I guess I'll just hide & watch what happens before doing any more updates.
Here's what I sent to Apple tech support:
    Guys/Gals (OS X Engineers):
Concerning the Snap, Crackle Pop Audio problem in the 10.4.10 update:
Please. Just do the right thing and fix the audio.
There is no need to power cycle the audio subsystem to save .0005 amps on the laptop line.
And then to make your Mac mini/iMac/other desktop users have to put up with it when using AC power is ridiculous.
Put the audio subsystem back like it was in 10.4.9 and let the laptop battery freaks looking for mini-amp savings get a "work-a-round".

    Libby,
Backup is unable to make a restorable by Disk Utility backup. You can restore pieces of the software as outlined in my FAQ about backing up user data:
    http://www.macmaps.com/backup.html
But to be able to restore a backup with Disk Utility, you need a cloning utility to have made the backup.
I suggest starting a new thread here, where someone else could help you out better:
    http://discussions.apple.com/forum.jspa?forumID=752&start=0
First off, you'll get a wider audience who may be able to solve your problem. Secondly, responses to you won't confuse the original poster with solutions that don't apply to them. And thirdly, you'll know for certain whether or not a response applies to you.

I have upgraded my HP Slate 21 from JB to KK. Now the sound quality is very bad!
I came directly from xxx.11 kernel and made factory reset but didn't get a good result. Please how can I fix this tremendous issue?

    Hey @PauloTxR ,
    Welcome to the HP forums.
I understand you're experiencing issues with sound quality on your Slate 21 PC.
Please review the following thread: HP Slate 21 Kit Kat OTA Update Fix for Audio Quality and LAN Connectivity.
This fix will resolve audio issues of a software nature resulting in the KitKat update. If your issue persists after applying the specific update mentioned in this thread and have done a factory reset, the issue is likely hardware related and not the result of the KitKat update.

  • Motion and Final Cut timeline audio

Working on a long Motion/Final Cut project for the first time. Started off with a ten minute long screen recording of my narrator recording a keynote presentation. Brought that video into Final Cut and have been sending chunk after chunk into Motion to create the actual graphics, all of which are heavily matched up to the sound.
Now, (of course!) the narrator wants to rerecord almost all of his dialog. In tests, if I place a new audio in the Final Cut timeline (along with the Motion clips), there's no way for me to tell the Motion file to use the updated audio - if I link the Motion clip and new audio in the Timeline, then edit the Motion clip in Motion, it still references the original audio. Is there a simple way I can tell Motion to use the updated audio instead, or (what I fear is the case) am I stuck with having to manually dump each edit audio clip directly back into the individual motion file? Because my video is heavily audio-timed, I need to have the audio in the Motion file.
    Thanks!

this sort of thing happens all the time. Of course you really have to lock down the audio before spending too much time on the pictures, but even with the best intentions it happens.
You could try to edit the v/o in fcp against the preexisting pictures first, to try and get it to work better. But then your only option is to send audio to the motion projects.
Its too late now but it might be useful to think about in the future. Rather than sending clips to motion, i export it frrom fcp, could be audio, could be pictures, could be both. I bring that clip into a motion project and work on it. If it needs updating, I re-exeport from fcp and relink the media in the motion file.

  • DV Audio issue.  Two sources (DV Deck and ADVC_1394), one choice DV Audio

I recently purchased a ADVC-1394 for a webcasting project. It worked really well with Quicktime broadcaster and in a web embeded flash broadcaster I created. In Quicktime pro under preferences>recording it shows up as ADVC-1394 and my dv deck (Pluged via Firewire) shows up at 1394-DV. But in Final Cut Pro 5.1.4 all I get for input audio is DV-Audio which comes from the ADVC-1394 audio inputs. I attempted to create my own capture preset but the same happens. I also re-installed FCP with no luck. When I take the card out everything works fine, but with the card in I get no audio from a firewire source.
The project was over and I decided to wipe the computer to try to solve this problem and some others that I started getting when I upgraded to leo. After the re-install all my other problems are solved except this one.
I know the ADVC-1394 is not on the compatible hardware list for FCP, but both Canopus and some other research indicate the ADVC-1394 as the same chipset as the ADVC-100 which is on the list.
    So my question...
How can I get the advc audio to work correctly as a capture source independent of the Firewire DV Deck?
So far my work around is to plug the rca audio from the deck into the audio inputs on the card, but I feel this could work better. I have tryed the card in a g4 as well with similar outcome.

weird. I will try at work later. apparently it does support multiple dv source video connections, because I can pick and choose which video I import, just not the audio. And why would QTpro support this and no Final Cut?!?!
BTW my onboard firewire port is cooked so I'm using a pci card for firewire. very strange, but I switched the cards and now i get full control of the timecode and I can hear the sound from the firewire deck, but no video. seems like the position of the pci cards on the bridge actually matters.
I never had this kind of problem with my miglia alchemy card. alas, miglia still doesnt support leo. The only reason I'm still using the card is because my deck has a menu that can only be accessed thru the rca ports. also I like to play playstation when there is nothing to do at work.
still trying, thanks for the tip.

Thank you Russ! Seems as though the timestamp on my audio files was completely incorrect so it placed the files far away from the corresponding video. I've modified the timestamp information and this has helped. The hour/minute information is incorrect but at least now I'm in the ballpark. Thank you!
