Audio just stops

Hi, has anyone else had this...? Playing a virtual instrument suddenly stops passing audio. Processor and Disk i/o meters go to nil, and no audio sounds.
Happens rarely but when it does its a pain, cos I'm using Logic live playing audio instruments?
I can generally poke it back to life again, although not quite sure what exactly starts it again, so I usually reboot.
Thoughts?
Philip

ahhhh my favorite subject. look up thread "vanishing sound" or something like that. and the really cool thing about this bug, is apple throws it in for free with every upgrade. just so we can waste more time opening and closing sessions all day.
can't wait to run out and buy another upgrade "THAT FIXES NOTHING!!!!!"
thats all ,goodnight, i'm goin to bed.....

  • IMovie audio just stops playing in the middle of creating a project.

I have several photo slideshows to which I'm adding music. Several times during the creation of a project my audio selections stop playing back with the slideshow.     I am shortening and/or lengthen the music selections through the Clip Trimmer.  It seems, however, if I do this many times trying to get just the right selection of the music, all audio stops playing back.  It's almost as if I overload the program with too many changes before finalizing the project. Eventually, the project seems to reload and the music is back but then photos and music don't sync. Also, the music will only play in full screen mode and not in the project window.   Has anyone else had this problem? Is there a solution?

Try creatint a new project in iDVD and drag the QT movie into the menu being careful to avoid any drop zones. Then follow this workflow to help ensure the best quality final product:
Once you have the project as you want it save it as a disk image via the  File ➙ Save as Disk Image  menu option.  This will separate the encoding process from the burn process.
To check the encoding mount the disk image and launch DVD Player and play it.  If it plays OK with DVD Player the encoding was good.
Then burn to disk with Disk Utility or Toast at the slowest speed available (2x-4x) to assure the best burn quality.  Always use top quality media:  Verbatim, Maxell or Taiyo Yuden DVD-R are the most recommended in these forums.

  • TS1631 Audio just stopped functioning.

All of a sudden the audio for music, videos, txt mess everything but the ringer stopped working. When I try to adjust the volume on the side it does not work either. Usually you see a small bar under the speaker on display no bar indicating volume status at all.. Or the volume starts working then cuts out again. I reseted the phone.. Anybody else having a similiar issue??? I am going to try one more thing!! Restoring.. Hopefully this will work.. So upset right now

    Hey @missjacie ,
    Welcome to the HP forums.
I understand the audio has stopped working on your Stream 7 tablet.
Start with a hard reset. Hold the power button on the tablet for 8+ seconds to force shut down. Wait 10 seconds and turn it back on.
It would also help to know if you have the same issues with headphones. Check under "Audio inputs and outputs" in Device Manager to see if the speakers are listed and we'll go from there.
    Thanks.

  • Satellite L755 - audio just stops working after running any program

    Hello,
been updating drivers two weeks ago. bios mostly, the rest just refused to be installed, and after a while any software i been running , just shuts down the audio after 1-4 minutes. i am not sure if it has any connection but the usb , any of them, wont supply power to my cell phone and that happen along side to the audio issue.
I tried removing drivers and installing again but it didnt help. did the same with the software that related to the issue as well, but ... Nada !
Been investigating on google for hours and saw tons of this exact problem.
    Any solutions?

Did you ever try to reset the notebook back to factory settings using the Toshiba recovery disk?
If driver update or reinstallation did not help in the past and you have no idea how to fix the an particular problem, its advisable to run perform system recovery.
However, I think you should also try this workaround:
First of all uninstall the sound driver.
You can do that in device manager. Expand the area Audio, Video, Game Controller and uninstall /delete the sound driver (Conexant).
Delete also the High Definition Audio Controller entry (Intel and probably nVidia)
    Then reboot the system.
After the reboot, the deleted / uninstalled devices should be recognized automatically by Windows system. After that you could test the sound again

  • Audio suddenly stops working with my voice over although I can see the track there is no sound?

So I'm doing a project and recording voice, in several parts, over with no problems. I go to play back and it all works just fine for a few minutes then the audio suddenly cuts out. I can see all the clips with the associated graphs and can't see any issues, the audio just stops???

If it will not connect to your computer, and it will not connect to the Internet, either via WiFi or cellular data, then there is no practical way to extract the information. There are no magic words that will fix the broken hardware.
You could try a 3rd party data recovery service, but doing so will forfeit your right to a discounted out of warranty replacement. Only you can decide it it's worth that.

  • Audio just cuts off suddenly

I was working on a particular project last week and all was fine. I worked on others in the meantime and now this morning when I opened the project the main soundtrack (Audio 3) has half disappeared - please see attached.
This is not the first time this has happened. OK, with a bit of work I can replace it but if this is a known phenonmena then for the future I'd like to avoid doing whatever it is I'm doing wrong.
I have the very latest version of PrePro, all files are on an external Caldigit AV Drive with masses of free space and I'm using either an up-to-date iMac or this year's MacBook Pro depending on availability.
Thanks in advance for any guidance etc.

The clip (which is both audio and video) is:
    File Path: /Volumes/CalDigit2/AvenueQ/AveQfootage/AvQTM300NewCAM_MEM/AVCHD/BDMV/STREAM/00000.MTS
    Type: MPEG Movie
    File Size: 4.0 GB
    Image Size: 1920 x 1080
    Frame Rate: 25.00
Source Audio Format: 48000 Hz - compressed - Stereo
Project Audio Format: 48000 Hz - 32 bit floating point - Stereo
    Total Duration: 01:00:20:04
Average Data Rate: 1.1 MB / second
    Pixel Aspect Ratio: 1.0
As I mentioned, the clip was fine last week during the many hours I was editing it, first using multicam and later when adding chapter points etc. Conforming, as I understand it, would have been done at the beginning, yes?
Maybe there a file which contains 'conforming' information which perhaps I could delete so that Premiere is forced to Conform again or doesn't it work like that?
The problem shows up in exactly the same way whether the clip is Imported or Opened in the Source Monitor. The video clip is about an hour but the audio part simply stops at around 28 minutes.
I did a Render and Replace for that part of the clip (I chopped it down to a minute before the point when the audio just stops and a minute after) but the ouput of the process has exactly the same problem.
Match Frame doesn't appear to have any effect. The clip plays in the Source Monitor in exactly the same way with the audio cutting out in the same place.
I have trashed the preferences (in Finder I went down the path: me, Documents, Adobe, Premiere Pro and under that I moved the entire directory "5.5" to trash).
I went back into Premiere, Premiere Pro, Preferences, Media, pressed the Clean button, OK. I exited Premiere Pro and rebooted the machine, I created a new project and using the Media Browser I Imported the file, right click, New Sequence from Clip, but the audio stops in exactly the same place.
In desperation I started up Final Cut Pro and did a Log and Transfer and once that had finished the full created clip is just fine with audio all the way through. So it has to be some other pointer in Premiere that I need to delete/reset (or whatever) which has become screwed up for this particular clip. I have three other clips (from three other camcorders used at the same show) and they are just fine. Please, any more ideas? Anything else I could try?

  • I will try to watch a movie, and the audio will just stop playing!?

I purchased a physical copy of Frozen, and I went to the Disney online store to type in the free code to get it on my computer and sync with iTunes, after i did that I played it and the audio just quit after 6 minutes, please help.

Do you get an "iTunes has stopped working" message?
If so, perhaps try the following user tip:

  • The audio out (headphone jack) stereo just stopped working.

The audio out (headphone jack) stereo just stopped working. On all my head phones (which work fine on other devices), macbbok pro sound is only coming through the left speaker. Anything I can do about this, aside just bringing it in to the shop? btw: audio output is set to middle.

Before taking to the shop, try Reset PRAM.
Some sound settings are stored in PRAM.
Even though the article title says 10.7  it is applicable to 10.4.

  • Audio streaming in Safari just stops.Anybody explain to me why?

I listen to a radio station and it plays fine for about 3-5mins....then it just stops and then I have to refresh via the 30s button in Safari.
It is not a bandwidth issue,as I stream the same station from my Notebook and have no problems.
    Thanks

Are you attempting to continue listening to it in the background?
If so, I don't believe Safari supports background audio. It would be far better to use a dedicated radio app (such as Tune-In Radio) which can play background audio for as long as you want.

  • So my iPhone 3GS just stopped playing anything related to audio. How do I get that fixed

  • Mac mini bluetooth audio connection stops when paused

    Hello!
I have a Mac mini late 2012, i5 Version, 2.5Ghz as my home Desktop. The OS is 10.9.5 Mavericks.
It's connected to a Logilink Bluetooth to 30 pin dock connector adapter, standing on an Apple Dock, connected to my Home Stereo. My Problem is, that everytime i pause the audio on my mini, the bluetooth connection just stops, and if i press play again, it plays through my internal speaker again.
I temporarily fixed this by playing a 10hour version of a song with 0 volume on itunes, but this shouldn't be a long-time solution.
I tried it with another bluetooth adapter, another dock, another home stereo. The issue probably is Mavericks, with it's awesome bluetooth settings, connect or don't connect.
Is there any program out there which sets the connection to permanent? Or is there an other solution?
Thank you very much in advance!
(Sorry for poor english. If you don't understand something, i could explain it in german!)

Ah, no joy, as suspected...I'm using Boot Camp version 4 and all i got was a flash drive full of boot camp version 3.1 - 3.3?  A few firmware upgrades that says it isn't compatible...
IS THERE ANYONE AT APPLE THAT CAN HELP!!!
Jesus! I bought this a week ago and I can't even get audio!  If this is the kind of service coming from Apple then I don't know...

  • Both itunes and quicktime just stopped running

Just recently, my itunes just stopped working. At first it was perfectly fine, then it couldn't read anything from my ipod, then it just wouldn't start up. I kept receiving a message "Itunes cannot run because it has detected a problem with your audio configuration". So I went first to the itune discussion forum to try and reset the audio, but there was no quicktime audio tab. so I tried to run quicktime and i recieved this message " Runtime Error!
    Program: C:\Program Files\Quicktime\QuicktimePlayer.exe
This application had requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please Contact the application's support team for more information.

I kept receiving a message "Itunes cannot run because it has detected a problem with your audio configuration"
Okay. That one is most commonly caused by a problem with your QuickTime. (iTunes uses QuickTime for audio and video playback.) So that's consistent with the error that you're getting when you try to launch QuickTime.
So let's try swapping out your QuickTime, as per the following document:
iTunes 7 for Windows: iTunes has detected an audio configuration problem

  • My media player just stopped working.

My media player on my Q10 just stopped working. When I try to pla an audio or video file it will play for at most 7 seconds and stop and next the following error msg will be displayed "the file can't be played due to an unexpected error". I have wiped my phone but it is still the same

I don't know. Quick searching did not turn up a sure fire fix. Maybe you have searched as well. There is a long thread on CrackBerry where several users report trying different things. Is wiping the device the only thing you have tried?
If you have another card (or can borrow one) that is what I would want to try. In that one thread, that was the one reported fix: a new card.
If playing files from device memory works, and reformatting the card doesn't fix the problem, seems to me next step is try another card that you know is good.

  • My iPhone 5s sounds stop working.i did not do anything it just stop working when I tried to turn on my music player all the sounds is not working I already check the volume and it is not also muted :( what happened can anyone solve my prob

Hello everyone my iPhone 5s sounds stop working.i did not do anything it just stop working when I tried to turn on my music player all the sounds is not working I already check the volume and it is not also muted :( what happened can anyone solve my problem please

    Hey Kirby17,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
If you are not getting any sound from the speaker, follow this article.
iPhone: No sound or distorted sound from speaker
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts5180
Ensure that there is nothing plugged in to the headset jack or the dock connector.
If the iPhone is in a protective case, make sure that the speaker port isn't blocked by the case.
Make sure that the speaker and dock port aren't clogged with debris. If necessary, clean it with a clean, small, dry, soft-bristled brush. Carefully and gently brush away any debris.
If an audio issue occurs when using a specific application, try testing other applications to see if the issue persists.
If the iPhone is paired with a Bluetooth headset or car kit:
    Try turning off Bluetooth.
If you experience difficulties with the Bluetooth feature, follow these troubleshooting steps.
    Restart the iPhone.
If restarting doesn't fix the issue, ensure that your iPhone is updated to the latest version of iOS.
If the issue is not resolved, please contact Apple Support.
    Have a nice day,
    Mario

  • Videos start to play, then just stop.

When I try to play videos at Youtube or anywhere on the web it will begin to play and then after 10 seconds to a minute they just stop. They don't pause, they stop. Permanently. I can't get them to restart.
No problem watching them on Chrome, my fall back browser for when Firefox malfunctions, which seems to be a regular thing the last few updates )<:
