Audio keeps playing after I navigate away from page?

Hi
When I play media, for example a YouTube video, when I navigate away from the page the audio keeps playing. This is unique to Safari. Firefox doesn't behave in this way. Any ideas how to fix this?

Audio keeps playing even when move away from slide

I am using Captivate 5 and have incorporated TTS voiceovers. I have an introduction slide where a voice gives the scenario, with back and next buttons. The Next button goes on to a demonstration (part of the same project) with a different voice narrating. The demo screens have a button to exit the demo at any time also. If a user is playing the scenario and selects the Back button, the second voice from the demo continues anyway, even though the demo hasn't displayed. By the same token, if you start working through the demo and exit from it using the button provided, the voice continues as if you play the rest of the demo, even if you have moved onto different slides. If you start a second demo, both voices play at the same time. I tried using the check box to turn off audio when button clicked, but that actually turns off the audio on the computer and either no audio is heard at all then, or it just turns off for that slide, then the next slide's audio plays, regardless of what screen is displayed. How do I make the audio stop if I exit the slide or slide sequence (project)?

If you navigate to slide 3 of 27. Answer the question. Then, as you read the success or failure caption, you will also hear audio associated with those captions. Now, navigate to the next page before the audio has completed playing and you will also hear the audio of slide 4 overlapping.
The audio from the success /failure captions do not stop playing when moving to the next slide. I hope there is a way around this, as I really want to have audio with the success/failure captions as well as the page audio.

Need to stop playback of an FLVPlayback component when navigate away from page!

I have an movieclip playing as auto start on the first page of my website. The component continues to play when I navigate away from the page. How can I stop the playback of the movie if it has not completed when navigation away from the page is invoked. I have search and am unable to find such an event using an FLVPlayback component. Presently there is no code in actionscript to display here.

Hi, this is the entire code that is placed on the timeline in frame 1 of the AS line. There is now an error and the FLVPlayer component, which is also begin in frame 1. At this point there is one method that I thought should work when the vTinesDayBtn is clicked. However, is not.
The error is:

Youtube audio keeps playing after I hit back button.

I've been having this issue on youtube when I hit the back button the audio from the video keeps playing, I've also noticed that it only seems to happen when the comment section gets stuck loading which is frequent even though I have a fast internet connection.

why do repliers keep suggesting to disable protected mode and harfware acceleration when that clearlyisnt a solution to this problem. are you robots?

Video and audio play just fine but when I backtrack or close tab the audio still plays. If i reload the tab the audio will stop but i've never had this issue before. I have the most current firefox downloaded and have even deleted and re-downloaded the browser twice.

First you have two Flash Player installed
*Shockwave Flash 12.0 r0
*Shockwave Flash 11.5 r502
Try disable the hardware acceleration:
Try disabling graphics hardware acceleration. Since this feature was added to Firefox, it has gradually improved, but there still are a few glitches.
You might need to restart Firefox in order for this to take effect, so save all work first (e.g., mail you are composing, online documents you're editing, etc.).
Then perform these steps:
*Click the orange Firefox button at the top left, then select the "Options" button, or, if there is no Firefox button at the top, go to Tools > Options.
*In the Firefox options window click the ''Advanced'' tab, then select "General".
*In the settings list, you should find the ''Use hardware acceleration when available'' checkbox. Uncheck this checkbox.
*Now, restart Firefox and see if the problems persist.
Additionally, please check for updates for your graphics driver by following the steps mentioned in the following Knowledge base articles:

Navigate away from page pop up keeps game play ie collecting gifts annoying. how do u stop it?

When playing Facebook when collecting gifts or trying to go to new game or clicking on comments or answering requests. Every click brings up this pop up becoming very annoying up dated but no help

The video picture is hang but audio keeps playing

We are using FMS3.5 for VOD streaming. It’s spotted that when we are using Flash Player Version = WIN 10.0.42.34/10,0,45,2, it is encountered that the video picture is hang but audio keeps playing after our commercial break point. we will first pause the video content and then use the same object to play the instream ad. After that, the video is resume when instream ad complete.

For instance when i am on FB and i want to view a picture i am asked the question, also if i go to hotmail and want to go to the inbox the same question is asked. All i want to do is navigate away from pages without being asked EVERY single time. How can i switch it off

SWF in PDF stops playing after navigating away from page

I have a PDF ebook with SWF movies embedded each movie is a music track controller that plays a track from a soundtrack to the book.
I want readers to be able to play the tracks while they read the book.
This works fine in Acrobat. But in Digital Editions, as soon as I navigate away from the page showing the track controllers/SWF movies, the movie/track stops playing.
Is there any way around this? Perhaps there are technical limitations to a Flash-based app. at play here.

There's a feedback form on that page (we don't currently do any ebook dev support on this forum.. there might be a forum unique to that at some point in the future). It's not very clear, but if you send a dev question to that feedback form you should get an answer from engineering. Firefox keeps asking me if im sure I want to navigate away from a page

I keep getting a message everytime I click on a link especially in Facebook asking me if I am sure I want to navigate away from the current page. Firefox never used to do this and I was wondering if there is some way I can turn it off

* "Clear the Cache": Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"
* "Remove the Cookies" from sites that cause problems: Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
* Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

Dvd player not working after Instaling OS X 10.8.4 Video freezes while audio keeps playing

After installing OS X 10.8.4 I tried to play a DVD and the video starts to freeze up while audio keeps playing. Video eventually stops completely while audio continues to play. Is anyone else having this issue? Does anyone know how to fix this issue??

Try booting into the Safe Mode to see if the same problem occurs. Shut down the computer and then power it back up. Immediately after hearing the startup chime, hold down the shift key and continue to hold it until the gray Apple icon and a progress bar appear. The boot up is significantly slower than normal. This will reset some caches, forces a directory check, and disables all startup and login items, among other things. If the system operates normally, there may be 3rd party applications which are causing a problem. Try deleting/disabling the third party applications after a restart by using the application unistaller. For each disable/delete, you will need to restart if you don't do them all at once.

PPro14CC - Playback freeze, audio keeps playing (OS X, iMac)

I think this is might be a similar issue to what others are experiencing, but the symptoms are unique so I'm hoping someone has found a possible solution by now?
One of our editors has been working on a large project (10 HD promo spots, at least 100GB of raw footage from Canon C300) and experiencing at least 4 crashes per day. And by "crash" I mean that CC14 stops playback -- the Program monitor freezes -- while the audio keeps playing. In some cases he can switch out to the Finder and then back to CC14 to stop the playback, and while he is able to hit "Save" and "Quit" the Program monitor never unfreezes. Some times though he gets the Beachball of Death and has to force quit everything, and curiously the timeline audio still plays out of the speakers after CC14 has quit and the machine is waiting to restart. On at least one occasion he got a major error and PPro created a new project file after closing down. VERY frustrating.
From what he's told me (I haven't been working alongside him that closely), the freeze ONLY happens when the playhead hits a clip that has filters or effects applied. Right now he's mostly doing a picture-in-picture effect with a beveled edge filter applied to the smaller window, and 3-way color correction on other clips.
For troubleshooting I focused on the graphics card first. The iMac has a Geforce 780 and was originally running with OpenCL so I downloaded the latest CUDA driver and switched to that but it made no difference. Turning OFF the hardware acceleration just made everything sluggish. I also repaired permissions on the drive. I'm hesitant to do anything too major while he's still working so please let me know if trashing prefs and/or reinstalling will wreck anything in the project or if you would recommend importing everything into a new one.
Brand new 27" iMac (non-Retina), 32GB ram, latest Yosemite (10.10) and CC14 versions, no plugins installed, no fancy system extensions or antivirus software. OWC Thunderbay RAID, M-Audio speakers, 2nd monitor is 42" Plasma TV via mini-Displayport-to-HMDI adapter in 2nd Thunderbolt port.

UPDATE:
We switched the Sequence Settings Preview to Quicktime>ProRes from I-frame MPEG, and it seems to be running better. Will update again if it fails to produce consistent results. Hope this helps somebody else!

Navigate away from site with flash under Firefox4 + OSX, very slow. Bug?

I have problem to navigate away from a page with flash under Firefox4 + OSX. Very slow (takes 30-60 seconds after clicking on a link). No problem in Win/Ubuntu with Firefox4. No problem with Firefox 3.6 or other browsers under Win/Ubuntu/OSX.

When you say you play it, in either Captivate or Flash, do
you mean
locally or that you upload it somewhere and play it back
through a web
browser from that website location?
If the former, then I'm not sure. If the latter, sounds like
the images
are Very Large and it's taking a while for them to download
in order to
play...but once they're downloaded and 'cached', the file
plays quickly.
How large are your published SWFs? What format are your
images? What DPI?

Premiere Pro CC freezes on a frame during playback, but audio keeps playing?

Hi,
First time poster, long time visitor to the boards. Running a new Mac "Pony Keg" (I think calling it a "trash can" invites bad performance ) with OSX 10.9.5. Here's a recurring issue: I am playing back a sequence and then it will freeze on a frame (different everytime) and the audio keeps playing. I can stop the playback and it will continue to play, but the frame is locked in. Next, I'll quit out of the app, and try to reopen, but nothing happens because Premiere never actually quit. I'll pull up Force Quit window and it reads as "not responding." I'll Force Quit, relaunch the project and things will work again for a while, and then I need to do a whole reboot. Any thoughts on what might be causing this freeze frame issue or why Premiere won't actually quit? I've seen these posts in some various threads, but not these two issues in the same thread. Thanks in advance for any help and insights offered!

I would suggest these things:
Do this first: Premiere Pro CC, CC 2014, or 2014.1 freezing on startup or crashing while working (Mac OS X 10.9, and later)
If that doesn't help, Change the Video Renderer to Mercury Playback Engine software only under File > Project settings > General. Delete previews after clicking on OK.
If nothing helps, try this:
Go to the following locations:
Location 1: When in Finder, click on Go > Go to Folder > ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe
Location 2: Go > Go to Folder > ~/Library/Preferences/Adobe
Location 3: Documents > Adobe
In all the locations, rename the 'Adobe' folders to 'OldAdobe'
Launch Premiere, accept the License Agreement and see if it works.
Note: You will lose your customized workspaces, keyboard shortcuts and media cache.

How do I stop "Are you sure you want to navigate away from this page? Press OK to continue, or Cancel to stay on the current page." from comeing up. It is new. Just started doing it yesterday morning.

I have used FireFox to play the Game Kingdoms Of Camelot, a facebook game. I also have Grease Monkey and a 3rd party add on. I leave it running 24/7 to gather food in the game for my army. It has run smoothly for 6 mo. Yesterday 2/04/11 in the morning it started asking for conformation when the page refreshed. i want to know how to stop this Box from comeing up it will not continue without refreshing and will not refresh untill th question is answered. It says "Are you sure you want to navigate away from this page? Press OK to continue, or Cancel to stay on the current page."

You're not going to stop it, and out here, what's illegal?
What it boils down to is a matter of ethics, and it's wrong. But the web
techies build this feature into their sites because they know somebody
is going to fly in off an engine like Google or MSN. And take something,
like a picture. Without stopping in and signing up or something else.
But what if I or you is out collecting stamps or avatars or wallpapers,
and have already taken a quiz, or signed up for a product? I've already
done that...but the site developers who use this ingenious(hijacking)
software don't see it that way, and don't care if you just got a computer
and want to pick up something here or there. Those sites don't get
anything when you visit and don't leave your number. I don't what
these 19 tracking cookies are for, do you?
