Audio level output too low, even if set to maximum

OS: Windows XP Professional Service Pack 3-Build Lab: 2600.xpsp_sp3_gdr.080814-1236
Audio driver: SoundMAX Integrated Digital HD Audio - Analog Devices - Driver date: 08/02/2008, Driver version: 5.10.1.5520
The audio level output is too low, even if setting the output for all sources to the maximum level.
Does somebody have the same problem?
Need your help to see how to correct this and return to a normal operation!

Additional informations:
Tested with the audio driver found at Lenovo's website, without any success.
After this was done, the audio driver was updated also without success too.

Audio Level Way Too Low On Movie

I just downloaded my first movie 'Mamma Mia' from iTunes and the audio level is dramatically lower than the hundreds of songs I have purchased.
Furthermore, the preamp, equalizer, sound check and sound enhancer functions in iTunes 8.02.20 don't seem to work on movie audio although they are fine on music. Bottom line, there is not enough audio level from my iPod Touch to drive parallel headphones on an airplane.
Does anyone know if all iTunes movies have this problem, and if so, what can be done about it? I am used to the normal variations in songs but this is ridiculous. iTunes customer service either doesn't know or won't tell me what is going on.

Well, now it's right click on the file -> Get Info -> Options. And yes, both a volume adjustment and equalizer preset come up but neither is active in the window (not on songs either...) I tried changing several options under the iTunes preferences but wasn't able to activate these adjustments - probably not available on the iPod Touch.

Check the Audio settings in Captivate. You may need to increase the gain value.

Background volume too low even when turned up to 200%

I'm just making my first film with iMovie '08. I can't seem to get the volume of an audio clip to play louder. I purchased a specific song on iTunes. I then brought it into my movie as background music. I've turned up the volume to 200% and reduced all of the audio clips to 15%. This is driving me crazy! Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong? The background audio is just too low and I can't seem to increase it.

When you play music from iTunes can you play it at full volulme? If so, it is not the MBP it is either something to do with the MP4 player (what are you using for that) or the conversion.

All-in-one PC volume is too low even when maxed out

When playing web content with sounds like youtube videos, the sound is too low even when the volume in the cotrol panel is already maxed out. what do i do? My desktop is an hp 22 all-in-one touchsmart pc.

This should solve the problem
Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings
It will not erase any of your personal data, just reset the settings.

Wi-Fi connection levels are too low

Zen 4Gb output too low in vol

Hello forum, Just purchased a ZEN 4Gb but I must set the soundlevel to max 25 to get a reasenable volume. It's far too low to hear anything in an airplane. Helpdesk told me to download a version with no e extension behind the file. Did that but still shows e after the software version.Can anybody help to boost the volume to a higher level. Tried same music on several other players and that is OK. Restrict volume is off, smart volume is off.

I bought my ZEN in Finland, and it wasn't even pre-installed with a firmware marked with "e"! Upon next firmware update I did change to European firmware alternati've. I don't have a problem at all with the volume, with the volume churning out loudly through my Koss PortaPro, even though they are of old design and have a relati'vely high impedance (60 ohm). But of course, if you are using some enormous audiophile headphones which have 300 ohm impedance, the player might not be able to pump out music at a very high volume regardless of firmware.

Garageband exports my audio's volume too low

So occasionally Garageband decides to export my audio with an outcome that is too low to hear. The audio sounds perfect while it's recording in Garageband itself, but once it exports to an mp3 and try to play it in Itunes or Quicktime, it's way too low. Anyone know how to fix this?

What are your settings for "auto normalize" in Garageband's Preferences > Audio?
Try, if changing that setting helps.
And check the corresponding options in iTunes, to see, if you have options enabled, that change the sound of your GarageBand songs: Sound Enhancer, Soundcheck. If you enabled those options, turn them off.

Sound is low even i set for max volume

I have a T60p Think Pad, The problem i am facing is .. even i set the max volume in my TP in volume control icon in systray and
media player as well , I am hearing very low sound when compared to other TP's such as R52 ..are there any settings to be done so that i get volume more ..any help is really appreciated.

Have you tried pushing the volume buttons near the top of the keyboard to adjust volume?
Also check your device manager to make sure there are no issues with your sound driver.

Hello. My crew and I recently completed post-production on an independent film. We used Adobe Premiere Pro 5.0 for video and audio editing. We had a very low budget for production, so we didn't have the best audio equipment to record sound with. So in editing, we had to do quite a bit of sound mixing to minimize background/ambient noise and interferences/distortions caused by large electrical appliances in some indoor scenes, such as taverns and cafes. We managed to clean up the audio, and the audio ultimately sounded great. However, when we exported the film to YouTube, the entire audio track sounded low. To hear the film at an adequate level on YouTube, the volume has to be turned all the way up. I'm wondering what can be done to export the film to YouTube and maintain strong, optimal audio volume/quality. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you and take care.

As Jeff of Safeharbor noted, you really need to check the audio meters in Prpro with your "final" project. I found that I could have a sound level that played fine on my computer, but ... on exporting to a DVD ... was way low and required a very high setting on any other computer or a tv to be able to hear. I hadn't actually looked at the audio meters. On checking them ... yeah, the peak was down about -18, the main content of the talking-heads was below that. After raising it with PrPro's audio tools, the sound was fine.
I'd bet your sound is showing low on the meters ...

Audio level way too high after disc burn

Hello!
I just burned my first test disc of a project and have come across a strange problem. The audio on all of my tracks has jumped to an extremely high (and unacceptable) level. It is well above the level set in FCP and even what plays when simulating the disc from within DVDSP. The ac3 files out of compressor seem to be fine. In fact, everything seems okay until the actual burn. When playing the disc in DVD Player, it's so loud that in many places there is actual peaking. Is there a setting I'm missing, maybe? I tried searching, but didn't find anything like this.
Any ideas?

Gotcha, I just realized it must be fixing something with markers. I haven't had a problem with that yet though, fortunately. I've been exporting directly out of FCP using Compressor, so there's no intermediate file. Like I said, the encoded ac3 sounds perfect, so it seems like it's something happening in DVDSP. Do you know of anything in that program that might have caused this? If it makes any difference, I burned the disc by simply hitting the "burn" button rather than building. Could that cause this sort of thing?

Windows 7 boot camp audio...too loud, even after fix

I've just recently upgraded to Windows 7 (32-bit) and also updated to Boot Camp 4.0 as well.
Once the Boot Camp update finished, the audio was scratchy and distorted. Fortunately I've installed the most recent version of Realtek HD Audio drivers.
The sound just gets clearer and however it gets too darn loud even it's on the middle volume. I've looked upon the sound manager from Realtek drivers but there isn't any advanced sound controls to keep the sound low and balanced.
Does anybody happened to this before and give me some good solution so to make the sound as balanced as possible?
By the way, it happened to me before when I was running Windows XP SP3 under the previous Boot Camp version. Then I've discovered the advanced controls to get the sound low and balanced and it worked like a charm! I wonder if I could do the same thing on Windows 7?

I have a strange problem when I try to use glxgears to see how much fps I have... Because I only have around 60 fps, with the free ati drivers and a radeon mobility x600 with 64 MB of vram.

As I said, I still have exactly 59.816 fps... There are any option of the xorg.conf that mean something like "I don't wanna an fps limit"? This is too strange. I think to that maybe it's a simple bug...

Recording level is too low when burning CD from playlist

When burning a CD from playlist, the resulting CD has a lower recording level than in the original recordings. How can I adjust this?

It sounds like you are having a similar problem to the one I was having when I was downloading my cds to itunes. The whole album would download but some of the songs would be on a different thumbnail instead of in the same album. Although the albums had the "artist" listed already it would still go to a separate thumbnail. It took me a while to search and figure it out through trial and error but if you right click on the album and when the tab pops up you go to "get info" and select "yes" you want to "edit information for multiple items" you must input the "album artist" and it will automatically import it into the correct album it originally came from. Some of them you have to input the information manually through the "get info". Hope this helps!!!
