Audio linking

Hello! i have a small problem, i've been searching for a way to link my audio on  my server computer...
I have my TV connected to my server on line-in and my server connected to 5.1 speakers (using it for MPD and other stuff aswell). Now i would like to find a way to link line-in, so that whatever sound comes in to line-in automaticly plays on the speakers. make sens?

Modify>Stereo Pair
This will toggle the link between two tracks of audio.
If mono> will make stereo
If stereo> will make mono.

  • How do I convert an audio link into a wav file?

how do I convert an audio link into a wav file with my Imac?
A PC user showed me to right click an audio link where it asked if it wanted to save the link as a Wav file?
I saw this done in front of me. How do I do it with my Mac ?

This is how to do it in itunes http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1550
If I view the song in finder, all that i have to do is press command-i and it opens a window. In the section where you view the name and extension I took off the extension (.mp3 in my case) and replaced it with .wav

  • Audio Links Broken in IE

    Hi,
My band web site is functioning perfectly on Firefox and Safari, but when browsing with IE, the audio links just display a broken link. I'm thinking it has something to do with quicktime, because when you click on a song in Firefox, it opens a new page and plays the song in a quicktime player. Using the same computer, clicking a song in IE... no such luck. Any suggestions? The issue can be viewed at www.facethesunband.com

I got some of them to work in Safari using Snow Leopard. Seems there's a problem with files created in iTunes, uploaded to MobileMe and viewed in Safari in OS X 10.6
Here's the link to Gary's blog where he summed up the problem....

  • My Imovie audio links did not work, found a fix you may need

    Guys and girls,
Just to make it easy to find.
My Imovie lost most of its audio links after one of the audio songs had a yellow exclamation mark after it.
After lots of searching, someone suggested that after you delete the "corrupt" link they all fix themselves.
This worked for me.  After I deleted it and replaced it with a "fresh" copy, they all worked.
After wiping the sweat from a nervous brow, I made a "copy" on my firewire and HDD.
just thought I'd pass on this tip.

    Hello Wade,
the problem seems to be the audio. Give us a little more info on what audio you used in the iMovie project (original audio, music, MP3, Aiff...).
Also: what audio setting does your camcorder have? Should be 16-bit, 12-bit is a big no-no with iDVD, see this thread:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=494268&tstart=0&start=45
12 hours seem a long time to encode 45 min of video ... your mac should be able to do that in 4-5 hours max. I would suggest you convert all MP3 audio to AIFF before importing to iM.
If your original audio is 12-bit you can try to export the whole audio (original & music) via QT using the audio only option with 24-bit Integer, then re-import into iM.
Get the latest QT update, if you haven't done so already.
Also do some basic iDVD troubleshooting:
    1. free some space on the startup drive (15-20GB recommended)
    2. Trash preferences (com.apple.iDVD.plist) and empty trash
    3. Repair Disk Permissions using Disk Utility
    4. Clear Cache Files (Tools: CacheOutX, Onyx)
Have a look at what John Beatty says in this thread about iDVD trouble shooting:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=508221&tstart=0
Third attempt burn to disc image. end up with two folders AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS. the audio folder is empty. no image
the AUDIO_TS folder being empty is perfectly normal for Video DVDs, only music DVDs have audio in that folder
    hope this helps
    mish

  • Audio Link Stops

My PE4 program suddenly stopped linking the video and audio clips together.  When I import the video it shows up in the file list ok but when I drag it to a timeline, only the video shows up.  Nothing for the audio.  When I right click I don't even get the "Delete Audio/Video" option.  It seems to only affect .mpg files and not .mov files. (these work fine).  The files do play in Windows mnedia player fine as well.  This just started today.  Any ideas?

The suggestion of converting your .mpeg to DV AVI does sound like a suggestion you can't refuse, but I am reluctant to resort to that at this point since (a) you say that the .mpeg from this camcorder have worked before in your current version of Premiere Elements.
From what I have read, your camcorder is recording MPEG-2 to it's hard drive. You say that you have been using the software that came with the camcorder to bring the video from the camcorder hard drive to the computer hard drive. The resulting file has a file extension of .mpeg or .mpg. Have you downloaded the gspot software to confirm the video and audio codecs for the file(s) now in question have the same codecs as those that worked in the past.
    Thoughts:
    1. Do you have video from past shootings with this camcorder (ones that successfully got to the Premiere Elements Timeline with video and audio linked)? If so, are they now behaving the way that this current shooting is with regard to audio missing on video transfer from Media to Timeline?
    2. If those past videos still are editable (video/audio) in Premiere Elements, try shooting some new short footage from the camcorder. Then copy it to the computer hard drive
    a. with the software that came with the camcorder
    b. via USB without the camcorder software
And, then see what has happened to the problem in Premiere Elements.
Through all of this I am assuming the all your computer drivers are updated and your computer is optimized, has enough resources to get the job done, etc. No recent updates of video or audio cards and other programs? No new programs or plugins installed?
I will be looking forward to learning how gspot defines this video from your Sony. I know that you are working with .mpg, not .mov, but do you have the latest version of Quicktime installed?
Those are my thoughts for now. If it worked once before and for an extended period of time, I would continue the troubleshooting for the elusive Why abd Why Now in this case?

  • Stereo Audio Linking issue

I have recently moved to FCP from FCE...I am having a problem linking a stereo audio file, I want to edit audio without effecting video in timeline. When I unlink, the audio file acts as two mono files, so I have two do repeat edits. If I link, then the video is in the edit. I want unlink audio/video, but treat stereo audio file as one edit...does this make sense to anyone?
This was easy in FCE, by default it acted the way I want. I'm sure I have a setting incorrect...IDEAS?

You don't have to Unlimk your dual mono clips.
If you want to cut or ripple or slide or whatever, just hold the Option Key and then drag the head or tail of the video part of the clip. It will then only move the videopart...
Or press that button on the top-right corner of the timeline (or Shift L). It toggles the usage of linking on and off (by default there are 2 buttons there. The other one is 'snapping' ('n' on your keyboard))

  • Audio - Link Microphone and playback into one device?

Is it possible to merge two audiosources togeather in any nifty way?
Mainly interested in the default recording device (or otherwise specified) with the playback device.
I'm using JACK which i thought was able to do so but never got it working in any practical way al tho i enjoy playing around with it.
Why i want to do it is because i want ffmpeg to easily pick up two sources from one channel, and being able to switch around in say JACK would be awesome in real time not affecting the ffmpeg stream, considering i might be streaming something for a bit and want to switch audio source mid-stream to erm i dunno say a radiostation while i go off doing something else.
Linux is versatile so i bet it's possible, i just don't know how yet

    I've got this partially solved:
    #!/bin/bash
    KEY=`cat key.db`
    ffmpeg \
    -i http://pub1.di.fm:80/di_vocaltrance \
    -f alsa -ac 2 -i hw:0 -acodec mp3 -aq 1 -ab 128k \
    -f x11grab -s 1920x1080 -r 25 -i :0.0 \
    -c:v libx264 -preset fast -pix_fmt yuv420p -s 1280x800 \
    -c:a mp3 -ab 96k -ar 22050 \
    -threads 0 \
    -map 0:0 -map 1:0 -map 2:0 \
    -f flv "rtmp://live.twitch.tv/app/$KEY"
But now for the tricky part..
Everything sounds like i'm inside a tin-can for some reason (probably to do with the mixing, ffmpeg probably don't like that for the format?).
So i thought i'd give ffmpeg-full a go with jack support.
Giving me the option to link several inputs into one single channel making it a single-audio track in the video, also giving me the option to patch this by muxers and what not.. But it gives me this:
    -f alsa -ac 2 -i jack \
    Produces:
[alsa @ 0x1399280] cannot set sample format 0x10000 2 (Invalid argument) jack: Input/output error

  • Video and audio linking problem, and others?

So, I am having 2 main problems. When I first started using FCE everything was great. Then, I changed some settings, and for some reason, it doesn't work like I want it to. So, my first problem is linking. When I import, it is automatically unlinked, but I think FCE thinks that it is! When I do press Apple L (shortcut to link video and audio) it still isn't linked! How can I get it to link?
My 2nd problem may be linked to the first. When I want to make a cut right on the playhead, it is really hard to get it on the playhead. Previously, it would just snap on the playhead if I got close, and now it doesn't! How can I get it to snap better?
    Thanks for all the help!

    1) Make sure linking (Shift-L) is turned on before you add your clip to the timeline. To manually link audio tracks to your video tracks select the two and go to +Modify > Link+ (Command-L).
    2) Make sure snapping is turned on in the timeline. Hit the "N" key to toggle it on or off.

  • Strange problem with audio (link inside)

    Hello Community, please help me!
So I started this project where I film everything I do in the year 2014 and stuff.
Well, this week I began with doing the work in AE, so far so good.
I'm not finished yet, but I just wanted to try to render and upload it, for testing reasons. (with bad quality though) here's the link: https://vimeo.com/113597439
So... apparently there's every 11 seconds this clacking sound, I don't know how to get rid of it, it looks like it's a problem I have with AE rendering, because I tried to screencapture it and then convert it with the same software as I did with the AE outcome, it was fine. (but I obviously can't get a HD outcome by screencapturing my RAM-Preview). So it's not my converting tool!
And I don't know what it is and additionally, the sound is getting delayed, I'm not sure if it's because of the same reason the clacking sound is, because in my RAM-Preview everything is perfectly fine.
I'm using lossless with Audio checked on.
I would be super thankful if anybody could help!
    Thanks in advance.

So I'm not hearing anything funky on my phone when watching the video. I do have one question though, this looks like a bunch of clips strung together with nothing special added to the clips so I'm wondering why you are using AE to EDIT when AE is a compositing and motion graphics application specifically designed to create short shots or sequences. I would do something like this in Premiere Pro. It will take you about 1/10 the time and it will render much faster.

  • A very unique Video & Audio Link Prob

Hi, i've been thru a lot of the Q&A to try to resolve my prob but gave up. This might be a 'newbee'.
One , lone clip on my timeline won't link. I've tried to link the vid & audio via the 'Shift+L" shortcut key and nudda. I've also tried via the edit/modify menu but the link options are not available (greyed out).
I've noticed that the Vid track is not underlined where as both audio tracks are?. This may be a big clue to solving the mystery?
    Weird & frustrating!!!

Shift+L is for toggeling Linked Selection (the button left for the snapping button in the top right corner of the timeline window)
Keep that Linked Selection button toggeled (green). Then make sure your clips are linked. If you still have problems, it might help to trash your FCP Preferences. That can be done manually (/Users/Library/Preferences/Final Cut Pro User Data/), or you could use an application like FCP Attic or FCP Rescue. Remember to quit FCP before you trash the preferences.

  • How do i make my audio link to my video when I drop it down

When I drop my video down from the viewer into the sequence the audio isn't coming with it. When i play the video in the viewer I can hear the audio and it is there but they seem to not be connected. Anyone know how to link the two? I am using final cut express also.

The Link/Unlink toggle button is located near the upper right-hand corner of the Timeline window.  If the clips are already in the Timeline, select the Video and Audio clips that you want to link and hit Command l (lowercase L).

  • Audio links to MP4 files not working

    hi,
    i'm publishing a website I designed using Dreamweaver. I
uploaded everything to the server using Fetch, but none of my audio
file links work. I've checked 100 times, and the files are there,
in the folder specified when I created the links. I've tried
recreating them - checking the location, etc and nothing works.
is this a problem with mp4 files or is it something else?
please let me know if anyone has any ideas as to what might
    be wrong.
    thanks!

If you are on *nix hosting, doublecheck for upper & lower
    case mismatches.
