Hello. I have a problem. I can no longer configure my audio li've, dts connect. It goes to the off position and says "The task requires exclusi've use of your device. Please stop playback and try again" I restarted the pc twice but it says the same thing. What can I do? Please help.

It would appear that there is already another software that is taking exclusi've use of your?audio device.

No entry is made on the cluster log of the destination node.
To me this means the nodes cannot talk to each other, but I don’t know why.
They are on the same domain. Their server names resolve properly and they can ping eachother both by name and IP.

First, for the forum view issue. Go to My Settings (on the right) and in General Settings change the Topic Page View to Flat. Click Save. Posts should show up in the order they were written.

Also, since you said that you've gone through the 5 Rs, I would assume that you used the iPod Updater to restore (since there is no other way of doing it and you don't "run" the 5 Rs).
When you restored, did you use the latest updater?
You may also want to try formatting the iPod through Windows. Connect it to the computer and when it appears in My Computer right click it and go to format. Does anything happen? Can you format the iPod through Windows?

Any Dolby Digital Live/DTS Connect support?

I'm just wondering if there were any products (USB/Firewire preferred, but PCI also) that support Dolby Digital Live and/or DTS Connect? Specifically, a product that will output bitstream AC3 or DTS to a home theater receiver via SPDIF?
(and I don't mean simply passing thru a DVD's AC3 or DTS, I mean outputting all system sound via transcoding to AC3/DTS bitstreams)
I've got a bgears b-enspirer for a PC, but I'd rather use a Mac for home theater and possibly World of Warcraft..

I have a Griffin FireWave. These are no longer made but may still be available if you search. It is a firewire device which give you 6 (5.1) channels of audio output. The outputs are direct speaker connections (L/R C/S LS/RS), so you need to be sure your home theatre system accepts these. It does NOT have optical outputs to a home theatre system and I think it's unlikely that you'll even find something which does.
The FireWave is a great device. It allows me to choose 5.1 audio output in Audio Midi Setup. It can then be driven in 5.1 mode by suitably written applications, and it also gives me full surround sound when I play a DVD.
I have seen some similar USB devices, but none of them claim to be Mac compatible - which seems rather odd to me!

DMP-4400 5.1 When Live stream drops the DMP requires reboot

We are using the Exterity TV Gateway to stream live TV to our DMP's when the Signal drops on the Exterity as it does several times a day the TV looses Audio and the screen goes blank for 5 seconds shows video and then blank again. This continues until we reboot the DMP. Has anybody come across this issue and does anybody have any ideas on a cure? The network connections are ok at the Exterity and DMP as far as speed and duplex are concerned with no errors seen. I am thinking its something to do with the multicast and the time its taking to re-join the stream but not sure how I can make any ajustments if it is.

I'm getting a similar issue running the DMP 4400 and DMM 5.1 except I have and issue where I could get 2 channels ok but could not get others and getting the blank screen repeatedly. Rebooting the DMP does not seem to provide any resolution temporarily or not. I have a DMM, DMP and DCM all attached to the same switch. Using UDP media per channel and a presentation per channel to push TV the DMPs.

It's quite stupid really. The US site is the only one offering the software. The US store only accepts American payment methods and Visa.
If I was to buy an X-Fi on the UK shop, I could pay via PayPal or my Mastercard. My Mastercard wouldn't work on the US store...
Creative must be losing business, simply because of the differences in Creative Stores' products and payment methods.

I have tried a clean start of Windows, reinstalled the software, ensured that my drivers are updated, and am definitely running SP.

- Click on the Supported Format tab page, select Dolby Digital and click Test.

What are the client requirements to use BI OnDemand?

What are the requirements on the client side for using the bi.ondemand.com site. I would like to know what RAM amount is neccessary as well as the Operating System version.

The bi.ondemand.com product is a off premise cloud based computing platform. Being browser based, the only requirements is that you are using a browser at a version level higher than IE6. IE7, IE8, and Firefox are the supported browsers.
When opening bi.ondemand.com with an unsupported browser such as Opera, you may see a dialog box explaining that it is not supported, but you will find that there will not be any problems. Some browsers just have not been fully tested yet.
There is no real requirements concerning the amount of ram as long as there is enough to support the running of the browser.

How do I physically connect the SCXI 1180 when using a 1520 and 1346 adapter?

Here's my current configuration:
SCXI 1000 chassis
x2 SCXI 1520 Bridge Modules (Slot 1, and Slot 2)
1180 Feedthrough panel.
I recently purchased a 1346 adapter so I can use the feedthrough to access AI channels on the DAQ card.
My question is, how do I physically connect the ribbon cable of the 1180? Does it plug into the BACK of the last module in the chassis (ie. bridge module2 in slot 2) or does it plug into the other 49pin connector on the 1346 adapter?

it seems the instruction contradict eachother. The 1180 manual says connect it to the back of the module
the note under Fig.2 on page 2 of the 1346 says you cannot have anything plugged into the module next to the one that has the 1346 plugged into it; in my case that's module 2...

But let me try and clairfy what you're saying...

"...it must be on the first card when using a 1520". By "it" are you referring to the 1346 (which is how it's currently configured) or the 1180 cable?
and lastly; why does the 1180 need to go into slot 2? I can currently fill both slots (1&2) with the 1520's and with the 1346 plugged into module1/slot1, I can pass the ribbon cable around back of module2 and into the 1346.
Is there some other reason beside potential space limitations that you'd use the feedthrough in slot2?

If you are using Windows 7, go to:
Control Panel>Programs>Programs and Features
Look for a program called 'Apple Mobile Device Support'
Right-click on it
Click 'repair'
Wait until the repair operation is complete, and voila, your problem should be solved, itunes will recognise your iphone/ipod once more. This worked for me.

My iPad 3rd Generation significantly drains the wifi when in use for other members/devices using the same wifi in the house. Does anyone know why? How it can be resolved? Or is it even an iPad problem or a router problem.

It it's only happening on one specific account, that means something about that account is causing the problem. Sounds obvious, right? But the implications and how to fix it aren't necessarily obvious.
It's not likely to be third-party kernel extensions causing the problem, since those will run for all user accounts. If it's a third-party software issue, it's going to be something that is running on just that account. First place to check is your login itmes (System Preferences -> Accounts). Remove items you don't need from that list, and if that doesn't help, remove ALL items from that list.
If that still doesn't help, there's one other thing to check. There are things called LaunchAgents that can be used to keep specific tasks running (possibly re-opening them if they crash or are made to quit by the user), run them at specific times, etc. In the Finder's Go menu, hold down the option key and choose Library. In that folder, find the LaunchAgents folder. What's in there? You can move all the items there temporarily to a folder on the desktop (or anywhere else), then log out and log back in. Does that fix the problem?
Of course, it sounds like the account you're using may be so badly messed up that you can't perform these checks. And the problem may not be third-party software anyway, it could be something that has gotten badly corrupted in your user account, and that can be difficult or impossible to pin down. If you have another admin account that you can use, it may be easiest to simply start using that account, and delete the one that's not working. For some help moving files from one account to the other, see:

Also, regardless of what the problem is and how you solve it, since one possibility is some kind of corruption, it wouldn't be a bad idea at all to repair your hard drive with Disk Utility.
