Audio lost from Keynote 09 import to iPad

I thought the recent Keynote for iPad software update was supposed to allow importing audio from Keynote 09 files. I still have no audio with these files on the iPad. Suggestions?

Hi Sean - welcome to the forum!
MPG files have to be converted to DV for the audio to be heard in iMovie. iMovie is designed for that format, not MPEG. Have a look here:

I had purchased an audio book from itunes on my iPad and when I synced my iPad with my computer, my audiobook disappeared. I have already purchased this audiobook, so now I just need to know how to get it back because it is not on iPad anymore. I don't think the audiobook was backed up to icloud but I have the receipt to prove I purchased it. Is there anyway I can get it back?

"If I purchase an audio book in iTunes on my iPad why can't I listen to it on my Mac? "
You can.  Why do you think you cannot?
If you purchased it on your ipad, then you would have to transfer it to your computer. File>Devices>Transfer Purchases.
You can then listen to it on your computer.

Swipe your Home page to the far right and do a Search of your audio book.

  • The audio on my keynote presentations on iPad does not work

The audio on my keynote slides using my iPad now do not work. (I used the same presentation before with no problems--now no audio). No transitions have been changed, and all slides have been checked in Inspector. All audio is turned all the way up. All other iPad audio--music, videos, etc. work fine. Playing the slideshow on my Mac audio works just fine too. Help--why wont audio work on Keynote on my iPad?

I have the same issue exactly. I have followed the pairing instructions very carefully with no results, no volume control, I wish I could help you out but you were the only post I ran into in discussions here's hoping someone hears our cry for help!

  • Audio distortion from camcorder import

Hi! After importing from my camcorder, the audio has a static distortion sound running through it along with the normal audio (although the distortion sound is louder than the talking). The movie sounds find on the camcorder and also on the DVD's I transfered them to with my DVD recorder. The odd thing in imovie is that in this 3 minute movie I'm transferring (which was made in Adobe Premiere), whenever I did a video drop in over the video of someone talking (while keeping the audio still being the person talking), the distortion stops????
BTW, is it possible to import into imovie from that DVD via the Apple drive?
    Thanks.

The DV converter is locked for 16-bit, 48kHz. I have the option to move it to "unlocked audio"....have no idea what the coverter would do to the bit rate then. Might be something for a trial. Thanks for the advice.
As a temporary workaround (but a big hassle), I extract the audio from my imported clip in iMovie. I then take that extracted audio .AIFF and import it into Audacity. The first three or so seconds of the video is just the hum....perfect for Audacity to recognize it for it's noise filter. I then apply the noise filter to the entire .AIFF file, then move it back to the iMovie media folder.
The resulting movie still stays in synch between audio/video, but now the hum is greatly reduced due to Audacity's noise filter. I notice a small loss in fidelity, but it's worth the tradeoff to (almost) reduce the hum.
Thanks again for the post, and for trading ideas! Adam

  • Audio lost from dragging MPG file?

I have some MPG files, 10 second or less clips from our Sony digital camera, and I can't figure out how to get the sound into iMovie. All I want to do is rotate the mpg 90 degrees, and I figured out how to do that with Simple Rotate from cfx, but now there is no audio. If I go to "Import" from iMovie, the raw MPG files are dimmed out so I can't open them. If I drag and drop the clips, they are there but there is no sound. And if I try "Extract Audio" iMovie crashes. This is iMovie 3.0.3 on a laptop running 10.4.5

  • Audio lost on all imported clips

I've been importing video for the past week. The video has played back with no issues. Upon my latest reopen, I've been unable to get any sound out of my videos. The video indicator under the preview screen (upper left) does not reflect sounds. I hear all other audio on my PC with no issue.
What happened to my audio on my tracks?!

Is there a grey screen as well as no sound? If so, I have the same problem and ended up going to another program...there was no fixing it : (
Grey screen and no sound would likely be a corrupted Project or Event thumbnail file(s). (I.e. frame indices no long point to valid source audio/video frames.) Some users have reported success at forcing a "re-generation" of such files by deleting or removing the bad thumbnail files. Have not tried it myself.

  • TS1741 can you use the remote app on the iphone to control keynote on an iPad?

can the remote app on an iphone be used to do/control presentations from keynote on an ipad?

The remote app is used to control the iTunes library on your computer - not to control other iOS devices. That will not work.

  • I can not import to iPad from iTunes some of my presentations.

I cannot import to iPad from iTunes some of my presentations. I get this message:"Presentation couldn’t be imported. An error occurred." That's it? I am blank off at Steve. Why cannot I simply drag and drop like any other decent software can from my saved presentations on my HD to appropriate directory in iPad? I have spent countless hours preparing those presentations. OK, let me think. I am going to do them over, spent so more countless hours just to find out that I cannot import them. Funny thing is that I never seen error doing something useless like playing game. Iam steaming.
I am looking in to Samsung products; maybe this error will help me to make the right decision. They are using open source Android, nothing like this secretive bull, oh my Got someone will try to steal my billions.

Wow, because you have created presentations that obviously have an error in them and so they cannot be used by the iPad, it is Steve's fault.
Sell your iPad to someone more deserving of its magic and get a Samsung imitation. That is if you can still find one to buy. If you had jumped the HP tablets were marked down just before HP threw in the towel on them.
    But if instead of being a pendejo, you want some actual help, try the Keynote forum, perhaps they can help you discover your mistakes;

  • I can't see from my PC the .pps files stored into Keynote in my iPad

Hi all, i would want to know if it's possible to see from my PC the .pps files stored into Keynote in my iPad 2. When i am syncronyzing the iPad with the PC, in the iTunes tab called Applications, in its end part there's a double panel (Share files): on the left side, under 'Applications', a list of the Apps. installed on the iPad; on the right side, under 'Documents', a list of the documents that the selected app. on the left has in the iPad.
No problem for Quicknote or Documents to go Premium: i can see the docs these apps. have in the iPad, and thus i can use the  'Save in' option to copy them to my PC, and also i can use the 'Add' option to transfer docs from my PC to the selected app.
The problem is with Keynote application: while i have two docs in this app. in my iPad, i can't see them from iTunes; and also, i can't see in the iPad the docs i transfer to the Keynote app. with the 'Add' button.
I have uninstalled and re-installed the Keynote app. on the iPad (without rebooting the device between the two things) without result.
Any help on this matter would be appreciated. Regards.

I have seen the solution: i have to explicitly share the files from Keynote options:
    - IPad --> iTunes: with the presentation open,  Configuration > Share and print > Send to iTunes.
    - iTunes --> iPad: '+' > Copy from: iTunes.
