Audio Messages and Video

I was excited to see that you could finally send audio messages and videos.....but when I realized that you can only use this feature when you are talking to someone else who has an iPhone...it peeved me. I was trying to understand why I was not seeing the microphone feature to the right, as in the "Tips" app. Hope this is not the case. Anyone noticing the same?

Well, I just checked on my device, and it appears that the mic does not appear if I try a contact that does not have an iPhone. You could check the user guide here http://manuals.info.apple.com/MANUALS/1000/MA1565/en_US/iphone_user_guide.pdf and see if it provides any further information.

How to synchronize audio track and video when transmitting by RTP

since the audio stream and video stream are transmitted separately on the network even if in a merged data, how to synchronize the audio stream and video stream at the receiving end ?

I'm using a custom AVReceive3 to receive rtp-streams and then I create processors for the incoming stream's datasource's, and they are ALL PushBufferDataSource's.
Does this mean I can't synchronize these. If so is there any way I can change them into Pull...DataSources ?The RTP packets are timestamped when they leave, and they are played in order. You can't change the timebase on an RTP stream because, for all intensive purposes, it's "live" data. It plays at the speed the transmitting RTP server wants it to play, and it never gets behind because it drops out of order and old data packets.
If your RTP streams aren't synced correctly on the receiving end, it means they aren't being synced on the transmitting end...so you should look into the other side of the equation.

Multimedia Audio Controller, and Video Controller(VGA compatible) are missing on Windows XP(32Bit) SP3

My Desktop Computer(Intel P 4, 512MB of RAM, and Graphics Card with 256MB of RAM)
Also, My Desktop Computer with P 4 doesn't have any access internet since there is no network adapter is installed. As a result, I would not be able to run the pc scan utility, or Reader a web-based applet that identifies my GPU or Audio controller
and finds the latest graphics driver for my GPU, and Audio.
I have two Windows XP installations:
Windows XP SP2(32Bit) which is old and it seems it infected by some viruses.
I have installed another fresh clean Windows XP(32Bit) SP3. However, I have two devices not detected well by Windows XP.
First of all, when saying that I have multi-operationgs systems, I mean there are two operating systems installed on my PC(SP2, SP3) both are 32Bit. The first Windows SP2(NOT installed by me) has all multimedia audio card installed well,
and has SCSI and RAID Host Controller shown the device manager. However, only the VGA is not installed on Windows SP2. However, the second one Windows SP3(Installed by me) has VGA not installed, Multimedia audio NOT installed, and there is no SCSI and RAID
Host Controller in device manager.
First: Yes, my motherboard has integrated video, and integrated audio card

I AM EXPECTING THAT KNOWING THE VENDOR ID AND THE DEVICE ID WILL LET ME QUICKLY FIND THE APPROPRIATE DRIVER. HOWEVER, I COULDN'T FIND THE APPROPRIATE DRIVER.
Thus, could you please help me to find them?

Screen Share, Audio Chat and Video Chat not working

Hey everyone.
I recently started having issues with using some of the iChat protocols over AIM with a friend of mine.
I can send IMs and files perfectly, but I can't get Audio Chat, Video Chat or even Screen Sharing (both ways) to work. After a while I get: "Failed to start Screen Sharing because: Screen Sharing could not be established." I also get the exact same message when trying to Audio chat or Video chat.
If anyone knows the answer to this problem please help us...

IMovie to iDVD-audio, slides and videos stuff up

Possess a Powerbook G4, DVD burner.
Did a project using clips and video clips. Share it with iDVD. Tried previewing it.
Audio plays and stops intermittently. Clips do not move and show sequentially. Audio keeps playing and stopping intermittently but clips and videos did not play as sequenced in iMovie.

If you are able to burn the disc, you surely had the project open.

Getting back text messages and videos

My iphone was freezing up, so I restored it. I was able to sync and get everything back except my old text messages and a few videos is there anyway I can get them back?

Moving from a BlackBerry to an Android, there is no "direct" backup file type that will accomplish this. I've used Verizon's Backup Assistant to transfer contacts from a BB Bold to an Android OS phone without any issues.
Text messages are something else. If you are using Verizon's Integrated messaging app, you can back up your texts and then restore them on the new device. There may be other third party texting apps that allow backups as well.

Flash player audio chirps and video delays

When playing recorded videos the audio "chirps" and sounds
like a tape deck with the speed varying. The video is anywhere from
1 to 3 seconds behind the audio.

Found this in Techsmith's Camtasia forum, dated 1-10-08,

"We've also been working with Adobe Flash Player TechSupport,
who has been very responsive and helpful. They have confirmed the

How to add Audio Formats and Video Formats in one movie?

Now that FCP X will not allow different settings how would I change the Audio Format and the Video Format to one movie in Compressor 4?
When I change the Audio to ACC I have a sound file and when I change the Video Format to HD 720 I get the movie but with the original sound.
Any help is always appreciated.

Audio buzz and video cut-out caused by volume shadow service errors during updates and other services that create shadow copies

I have this issue and see throughout the Internet that my problem is shared by large numbers of other Windows 7 users, and a few Windows 8 users.
I also see that Microsoft has not addressed the issue.
I've been troubleshooting the problem for 13 months and across 3 separate hard drives on 2 separate computers, with the help of tech escalation from both Carbonite and Dell (whom I wanted to eliminate as causes, and who have been kind enough to assist even
after being eliminated as causes because they evidently care about customer service).
Over 13 months we have run system diagnostics, reinstalls and repairs to no avail. We have been able to reproduce the event in the absence of every attached device, every installed program, every subscribed service, and every hardware type and configuration.
We have visited chat rooms showing that this is a widespread problem (e.g., http://superuser.com/questions/630033/audio-video-glitch-when-shadow-copy-service-starts), and that even professional server administrators simply consign themselves to VSS being "the
bane of backup software" (http://community.spiceworks.com/topic/229743-problem-with-vss-writer-system-writer-timed-out).
Yet regardless of the computer or the configuration, the problem persists. It causes characteristic and alarming disk write error and memory spikes on the Resource Monitor that can be traced to huge numbers on the System 4 and VSSVC.exe processes, occurring
every time the Volume Shadow Copy Service and Application Experience create a restore point during an automatic update of Adobe, antivirus, etc.; and one can even provoke an event simply by manually creating a restore point, which has the bonus of triggering
an 8220 notice that the Volume Shadow Service has run out of time while deleting files. And the only advice I've seen from MS is that this is a "normal condition."
It is not normal to be unable to enjoy audio and video. And it is certainly not normal for one's PC to continually degrade with every update until it becomes unable to update and must be replaced.
I am on my 3rd computer with this problem (different type and configuration each time), and Dell has offered me an upgrade to Windows 8 in the hopes that the problem will not recur there. But I see from Microsoft's tech chat that Windows 8 users are reporting

Above all I understand the frustration as a same issue persists for a very long time.
At first I'm thinking if it is directly related to the application CrashPlan some customers mentioned in one of the threads you provided. However I then noticed that you said it could be also reproduced by creating a System Restore point.
Currently I cannot find a Windows 7 system so I used a Windows 8.1 laptop (also Dell) for testing.
I tried to play an online video and also a local video with creating a restore point in the middle. However I failed to reproduce the same behavior.
The following screenshot was captured in second test (play a local video):
I cannot confirm if it is because we have a large physical memory (8GB), or Windows 8.1 resolved this issue. From the screenshot, memory is not spiked (actually it is almost not changed).
So in current situation you can test to enlarge the size of physical memory (and virtual memory) for test if available. And as Dell provided a Windows 8 system, you can try it before and after installing Windows 8.1.
As a support engineer I also hope to help fix the issue or at least find out the cause. Later I will try to find a Windows 7 system for testing as well.
In addition, please understand that as the issue occurs mostly in Windows 7, though it seems related to VSS, it is still a Windows client system issue. So you can post the question to Windows 7 forum for further information. Here is the link:

Any easier way to linking audio-a and video-v files?

Hi everyone
I've received some DV-Clips from a friend of mine who captures his videomaterial into split audio and video files. Now I don't like working with these split files and would like to relink these into one file with audio and video integrated. And if possible do this in some kind of batch function.
I could export the corresponding audio and video files from final cut into one file. But seeing that there are quite alot of clips to manage, that's seems a bit of a boring task. Any ideas? I've tried looking through my manuals and asking help, but haven't found anything yet.

You could nest or add the audio to the video at the QT level via QT player and re-import.
I work with them split almost always, remember hit bb to bring up the razor all. This will chop both at the same time.

Audio Tracks and Video Out of Sync!!

I am having a problem with not only the video and audio being out of sync, but the audio tracks, left and right, are out of sync with each other. I know it isn't the camera or tape because I watch the footage while it's capturing and it is fine, plus it happens all the time, with different tapes and different cameras. What would cause this and how do I fix it? Also, how do I set my preferences to automatically start the camera when I click capture? I have it set on my iMac but I can't find it on my G5.

Why is Audio screeching and video choppy?

Greetings. I have recently formated my toshiba latop with windows xp and have no problems playing audio or video from non-flash sources, I installed version 10.1.85.3 of flash. And even tried a couple of older versions. I have used firefox, chrome and IE, all with no success. All i get is a choppy video with high pitched sceeching for audio. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks. The Windows Firewall would not cause any issue. AVG can, but it would not be the main anti-virus engine which is the Resident Shield. That could block an Install of Flash Player, but evidently it didn't. What can cause problems are the following which I'll post in a minute.
Malwarebytes that you use, is it the Free version that is on your Desktop and you run it on demand? If so that is not a problem either. Now if it is the full version and Installed and runs in realtime, it may conflict with AVG.
These are the AVG add ons and the LinkScanner that you may try to Disable and see if there is any improvement.

Audio Books and Videos..

I am not sure if this is the right area to post this, but here it goes..
I have on my computer some Music videos that came with some CD's Ive purchased.. I had to convert them to MP4s so that they would play on my iPod, I've done that and I have them in my iPod Library, However, when I change their type from "Move" To "Music Video", They not longer appear on the movie list, they are moved to my Music Play list, and on the iPod, can not be found under the "Movies" Or "Music Videos" listings..
Also having a similar problem with a Audio Book that I have, they show up as Music and not an Audio Book on my iPod,
Is it possible for me to fix these so they work right?

Any help on this one?

It seems that flash assumes that the Sound volume controls

Audio Location and Video Size

I have two questions:
1. I can't place audio in "audio 1,2 or 3. However, when I drop the video in 1, it works. But it won't drop the audio into one?!? Please help.
2. In the preview window at the top right of the screen, my video I have imported is really small. When I try to make it bigger, it distorts the image. Please help!

PrPro requires that you have the correct channel-count on the existing Audio Track to match your source files. If you do not have such an Audio Track, PrPro will create one for you, if you drag that Clip to the lower portion of the Master Track.
Now, let's say that your Sequence has one 1-channel Audio Track in the default layout (mono), that will be your Audio Track 1, with the 2-channel (stereo) Tracks of the correct number below, and possibly 5.1 Audio Tracks, if you set the default Sequence settings.
On the Track Headers for Audio Tracks, there are little icons, one "speaker" = 1-channel (mono), two "speakers" = 2-channel (stereo) and "5.1" = 6-channel (5.1) Tracks. You can ONLY place an Auido file onto the matching channel-count.
Here is a look at the icons in the Audio Track Headers:
If you wish to move the Audio Tracks around, you can do so via Create Tracks, and locate them, as needed. There is currently no way to click-drag Audio, or Video Tracks, like in many DAW programs.
If you use, say a lot of 1-channel material, you might want to change your default Sequence Tracks setup.
Also note, you can change the name of any Audio, or Video Track, but with Audio, you cannot change the channel-count, once the Track has been creatad - only Delete it.
