Audio missing in FCP after export

Hi
So I have an audio track in FCP which I sent to STP and added a limiter and reduce noise filter to. Saving it and going back to FCP I notice that 2 seconds are missing from the end of the audio.
I sent the referenced clip with no handles.
Now my sound is out of sync.
Thanks
Joe

Did you do a Send to a Multitrack Project?
STP expects to see 48k audio coming from FCP and send aiff 48k back as an exported file.

  • Audio out of sync after export!

I've exported this video I've been working on several times under different conditions, no effects, no transitions, no additional media, different formats between AVI, MPEG, H.264, I've uninstalled and re-installed premier, running as administrator.  I have done everything in my known knowledge of troubleshooting to figure out why after exporting this video my audio sync is off by two seconds, nothing I've done has worked.
    Video Source
    AVI
    1920x1080
    60 fps
I'm matching the source as export other times I've not, again I've tried multiple combinations.

  • Export videos to YouTube but audio isn't there after exporting

I exported my video to YouTube via Quicktime but audio isn't there after I go to the YouTube link. I turned up my volume all the way but no sound comes out. I JUST upgraded to Mac OS X 10.6.8 TODAY ON JUNE 23RD! Has anyone else experienced this AFTER upgrading to 10.6.8? With 10.6.7 I could export videos perfectly. AND AFTER upgrading to 10.6.8, it takes FOREVER for the video to export to YouTube. It takes hours!

OK so I tried a few more videos. The first had the problem but the several more I tried a few more and they worked fine. Then I went back to the first and it started working fine again. So the problem seems to have gone away.

  • Audio sounding Dull & low - After export

    Hi there,
I'm editing in Premiere Pro CS4. If you see the images below, it will tell you a bit more about the system and settings I'm using. I gave my customer a DVD and she complained about the audio. I asked her to email me the description of what she wasn't happy about, and she wrote this: 'with the audio the sound quality was lost it wasn't crisp and clear. And the base and beats were very low. Came out as very dull sound'. Now I agree with her. One of my fellow editors who uses another system produced a video, and imediately I noticed how wonderful the sound was. I could feel the base and hear more of the instruments.
My original audio peaked like this:
I asked someone what was the best level to put it at and they said let it peak at -6. So now my audio peaks like this:
After the complaint, I asked a few more people, and they said that the green level of the audio should be reaching level 6. So now my audio peaks like this:
Now I'm not sure if the above settings have fixed the problem, but at least on the computer it sounds better.
This is the version of Premiere I'm using:
This is some info about my computer:
    File properties before export:
    File properties after export:
    Project settings:
    These are my export settings:
I hope this is enough information and I appreciate any help. Let me know if you need me to gather more info.

    haha very funny.
Certainly not. :-) I've actually noticed it even before she mentioned something to me. Maybe I'm mistaken. You sound as though nothing should be wrong with my audio. Is that right? Judging from my settings.

  • Audio problems in iMovie11 after exporting

    Hey everyone!
I have been suffering from a problem that I have no clue how to fix. So I created my video 9min long with all sorts of stuff (logos, various songs, voicerovers, detached audio, attached audio haha, cutaway picture, etc etc) and everything is fine with the sound while its still in the library. The movie is made and ready to export. BUT when I export and create a .mov file (HD 780 or 1080) the sound gets messed up and sudden gaps of silence appear out of nowhere. Usually those gaps appear at the end of the clip. Also the more I export the movie the more problems it appears to have..... So now besides the silence gaps, in 2 scenes the sound goes like you're under water for a second or so, and then goes back to normal. AGAIN this happens ONLY after exporting. Before rendering everything is fine on my imovie, sound is in tact and whatnot. But after exporting I face these issues that I have to solve somehow..
    Please help someone, it's urgent!
    Thank you in advance.

Extract, or detach, the audio and make sure the audio is in sync.

  • Slideshow audio timing is off after export to QT movie

I created a slideshow in iPhoto and put one song with it. I times all the slide durations so that the music would fade out exactly at the end. After exporting to a QuickTime movie, however, the slideshow is finished before the song is... the song is off by at least ten seconds.
I believe I get better image quality if I do the show in iPhoto as opposed to iMovie, which is why I used iPhoto to begin with. But if the show will not synch, what other choice do I have?
    Any suggestions?

Did you take into account the transition times. That has thrown me off a number of times. Do you have the Fit Slideshow to music option selected?
Another application that creates, IMO, terrific slideshows is PhotoPresenter. It has 25 or more themes and can save the slideshow, with Fit slideshow to music, to a variety of formats, QT, for iPod, HD, etc. This is one of their many themes.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • Audio out of sync after exporting into Quicktime using current settings.

Quicktime file has audio out of sync when I export to quicktime movie using current settings.
Ok for about the first few minutes then, out of sync after about 10 minutes.
I shot the footage on tape with my Sony HVR-Z7u.
My Sequence setting is the same as the format of the footage as shown below.
    Pixel Aspect Ratio: HD 1440x1080
    Editing Time base: 23.98
Quicktime video settings: Compressor: HDV 1080p24
    Audio Settings: Rate 48 KHz
    Depth: 16bit
    Clip format:
    Pixel Aspect Ratio: HD 1440x1080
    Vid Rate: 23.98
    Compressor: HDV 1080p24
    Audio Rate 48 KHz
    Audio Format: 16bit

I recently moved and both of my editing machines were unplugged for a couple of days until I could get them set up. After turning them back on, the problem had disappeared. Perhaps leaving the system unplugged had allowed some of the internal components to reset? That's the only thing I can think of. At any rate, the issue is gone.

  • DVD & Blu-Ray audio out of sync after export

When I use FCP X's built in DVD or Blu-ray export option, about halfway through the video, the audio becomes out of sync and becomes ahead of the video.
    How can I fix this?

    Freddy,
You will see that I am experiencing the same issue with my DVDs and BDs per my question 3 hours prior to yours.  It never was an issue until very recently.  I may have a solution.  Realizing that my audio was acting as if I had "Drop Frame" audio attached to "Non-Drop Frame" video, I went back to my source material to verify my acquisition settings.  All elements of the production were recorded appropriately as "Drop Frame."  Playback on the "Timeline" (Passé now) was perfect.  No audio sync issues there.  So I felt it must be some rendering setting within Compressor and the render engine.  When you go to Compessor (Send to Compressor), you will gain access to the audio render settings for both DVD & BD.  Typically, the "Retiming" under the "General" tab of the Audio Inspector is set to "100% of source."  I Went ahead and checked off the radio button below that to render the audio at the exact duration of my program (nearly 3 hrs long).  I did this for the DVD version of the program and placed it into DVD Studio Pro to replace the bad sync audio.  Well wudda ya know....it worked.  I haven't burned the DVD yet, but that is next.  I suspect that if this works for the DVD, it may work for the BD render as well.  Wish me luck.  I hope this helps.
On a side note:  If all else fails, render a MASSIVE master file and use that in Toast to make a BD.  Not the best option, but it will get you out the door.

  • Video and audio out of synch after export

    Hello guys,
I have 5 minutes long video on timeline.
1 audio and 3 video layers.
All looks good, but once I export it as QuickTime self contained movie (current settings) to my desktop, video and audio is out of synch.
Any ideas what it might be wrong?
    Thank you for any advise.

    Hi
Did You Render All - first - before Export
Did You Mixdown Audio - Render Only - last line
    What material was used
    • Video Codec and fps
    • Audio file formats and bit-depth and frequency e.g. .aiff 48kHz 16-bit
    • What kind of Project Set-Up did You use e.g. Easy Set-Up - PAL-48kHz

  • Can't import audio files in FCP after snow leopard update

i've recently updated to snow leopard. and i'm running Final Cut Pro 6.0.6
i opened a .fcp project i created a long time ago. i tried to import a .aif file and final cut crashes. i converted the .aif file to a .mp3 file. tried to import it, and final cut crashed.
i then went and deleted the preference files for final cut pro, reopened final cut, tried importing both files again, it still crashes.
does anyone have a legitimate answer for why this is happening?

    BenB wrote:
1st, FCP does not officially support MP3 audio files, so don't even use them. I'm running FCP 7 on Snow Leopard, no problems with audio files.
1- How are you encoding them? What software is creating these files?
2- Are you running on an external FW800 drive?
3- How much RAM are you running?
And as my final observation is, NEVER run Final Cut Pro 6 on Snow Leopard! Huge no-no! If you upgrade to Snow Leopard, only use FCS3. I've updated lots of systems for my students and clients, and I've seen lots of FCP6 on SL problems.
    Message was edited by: BenB
I agree that you shouldn't use MP3 files with FCP, the manual tells you that somewhere If I recall properly, but it shouldn't cause Final Cut to crash, at least that has never been my experience, it has just caused a skipping problem, or not playing the complete song.
I don't really understand wht a FW800 drive or the amount of RAM have to do with it, it would sure be interesting to hear your comments on that.
However, in all due respect, to make the statement that one should NEVER run Final Cut Pro 6 on Snow Leopard seems pretty "out there" would you be so kind as to provide your rationale for such a drastic statement as that. Has there been anything official from Apple along those lines?

  • Audio/Video sync issues after exporting

    Two quick issues:
    1. I've recently exported a project from FCE4 to quicktime and am finding that the audio is slightly out of sync with the video everytime.
Is there an ideal format or setting I need to export at to avoid this?
    2. Also, I've edited two projects using the same clips and keep finding that the second one I make seems to make the video very narrow when I export it. Is there a setting I need to use to avoid this, or does the problem lay in the setup?
    Cheers!
    John

From what I see in your info, the clips don't match the Sequeunce.
Furthermore, the clips are not FCE freindly. Probably required rendering?
I'd suggest using Streamclip to convert the H.264 clips to the exact specs of one of the FCE>Easy Setups, audio and video properties, then start over.
    http://www.squared5.com/
BTW: Whatever you convert the clips to must match the Easy Setup, so that you work with Clips and Sequence being the same. The best way to acheive this is to start a NEW Project, set the Easy Setup first, then bring in the the matching clips.
Using Item Properties in Browser>Seqeunce/Clip is one way to confirm matching specs for both.

  • I've lost my audio in the project, after exporting

I exported my project, and then wanted to modify the project still further- which I did. Only to find that all of my own audio has disappeared- that is, the green tabs are still there in the timelines, but they don't play anymore. Only the Apple jingles and sound effects are still audible. Did exporting it close it down somehow definitively?
    Any help gratefully appreciated.

  • Audio tracks are clipped after export to Quicktime

I have a small (16 slides) keynote file that runs perfectly in Keynote.
I have individual voice audio files for each slide as well as a seperate "master" soundtrack running in the background.
When I export to QT the individual voice audio track is clipped off at various times on each slide. The slide's other transitions continue to run with the background music playing just fine. The next slide begins as expected, playing all sound files, until the individual voice audio file is cut off again.
Exporting at different resolutions seems to produce the same frustrating results.
The background music is a QT movie file. The voice-over is an Mp3.
    Thanks for your help.

Doesnt solve the problem. the soundtrack is synced at first but then is progressively, increasingly out of sync. A couple of seconds late on a 7-minute film.

  • Why is my audio out of sync after exporting?

I am using Final Cut Pro X 10.1.
My footage plays fine and it's all in sync with the external audio when played all the way through on the timeline.
When I export the project the audio suddenly becomes out of sync around half way through playback.

  • Missing original filename after export to photoshop

    Hi
using the export function to edit a file in photoshop (german "bearbeiten in Photoshop") generates a new file, but without the original filename.
    Example:
Export "my picture 234.nef" as a tiff to photoshop generates a file called "-bearbeitet_1.tif" (german "bearbeitet" = "edited") . "my picture 234" is gone.
I tried to manipulate a token in "Lightroom 2 Preferences.agprefs" which looks odd, but afterwords lightroom 2 would not start anymore saying something like i have a bad lightroom catalog.
    Any thoughts?
    Cheers, dietmar

In LR "Preferences, External Editing", how is the file naming template at the bottom of the dialog set up? This determines how the edited files are named. Sounds like yours might be set to something that doesn't include the original filename.
