Hi,
Try the following.
Download the IDT Audio installer on the link below and save it to your Downloads folder.
http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp56501-57000/sp56717.exe
When done, open windows Control Panel, open Device Manager and open up Sound, Video and Game Controllers.  Right click the IDT device and select Uninstall - you should also get a prompt to remove the current driver, tick the box to allow this and then proceed with the uninstall.
When complete, restart the notebook and let Windows fully load.  Open your Downloads folder, right click on the IDT installer and select 'Run as Administrator' to start the installation.  When this has completed, restart the notebook again.

  • HP Probook 455 G1 dts+ audio software & mute button light change missing on Windows 10

Dear Support! I upgraded my probook from win 8.1 to win 10 home and i have a few problems in relation with the audio. 1. In win 8.1 the audio driver has a dts+ software (if i remember good for the name) which can optimize the sound with effects and eq etc. The notebook sounds good with this but in windows 10 i can get this and the quality of the sound is much worse. In addition in the device manager on win 8.1 the audio card names as IDT High Definiton audio but in win 10 it is "High Definition Audio Device". I don't know whethet that matters. (also has an amd high definition audio device, but if i know good its the hdmi audio) So I want to ask how can i get this to win10. 2. The audio mute button in win 10 doesnt change color -the wifi button does it- from white to orange if there is a change. The funcionality is working so it mutes the sound. So i would like to get some solutions about that, i tried to download drivers from hp support but i didnt see anything for this. Thank you for your answers, Akos ConfigHP Probook 455 G1 with AMD A10-5750M APU

Everything i need is the driver from the win 8.1, i can't believe nobody from HP can help me in this.......

  • Problem with audio shortcut buttons (windows 7), especially mute

I some severe issues and had to do a clean install of windows 7. I lost all the preloaded lenovo applications. I cannot get the short cut mute button to work. The up/down volume buttons work, but they don't show the change in volume (green bars on the screen) that they used to show. Mute does not work at all. Can someone please help me? I assume I need to install a driver to get this working again.
the drivers I have installed are power manager, audio, bios, and hotkey. I thought the hotkey driver would fix it, but I haven't had any luck.
    thanks

Same problem here after clean install of W7-64 on a T500.   None of the green screen indicators (screen brightness, ThinkLight, volume, and mute) show up.   All functions except mute work, but without indicators.
    Can somebody help?
    Thanks.

  • I don't have any volume. When I push the mute button or try to increase the volume up or down nothing happens. The volume shows up as if it were at full volume but no sound. I am so frustrated.

I need some help with the volume on my macbook pro. I am getting absolutely no sound no matter if I push the volume increase or decrease button. Nothing changes. The volume bar shows up as if it were at full volume but no sound and the mute button doesn't do anything either.
    Please help.

Go step by step and test.
    1. System Preference > Sound > Output > Internal Speakers
        Highlight  Internal Speakers.
Make sure that Mute is not enabled.
2.Plug in and  remove the headphone.
If you see red light in the headphone port or not, plug the headphone
in and out of the port 5 or 6 times to flip the microswitch inside.
Sound output may be stuck in the digital mode.
Try this even if you don’t see the red light.

  • Mute Button on a Midi controller. How do I set this up?

I want to setup a button on my midi controller keyboard, as a mute button for a certain track.
I select the track, hit 'Mute' with the mouse, and then 'learn controller assignment'. I then proceed by pushing the button on the midi controller.
The Parameter is "Learned", but doesn't work as a toggle button: I have to press the button two times for it to work.

fotofono, depending on the kind of result you're after, you may want to consider a sidechain. I'm pasting text from a previous post I did where someone wanted to be able to create a stutter effect (with mute) on a vocal track. It may apply to what you're trying to do.
    Here's how:
On the vocal track you want to create the stutter effect, insert a noise gate.
On the noise gate plug-in window, look for the sidechain input (top right).
Pick 'Bus 32' for example, or a bus that you don't have in the environment window.
Pick an empty midi track in the arrange window, insert an EXS piano or any other Audio Instrument (something with good attack works best). Assign it's output to Bus 32.
Since bus 32 is not in the environment window (make sure it isn't), it won't output any sound to the main outs, and you won't hear that Audio Instrument you've just inserted. Nevertheless the audio is still being routed within Logic, and will affect the SideChain of the noise gate, which is what you want to create the stutter.
Sequence the rhythm for the stutter into the midi track (you won't hear the Audio Instrument, but you should hear the vocal track stuttering to your midi track playing), do any quantizing you want, etc, and the noise gate will follow the notes.
You can also tweak the Noise Gate of course, to ease the threshold of the stutter, etc.
Even if it's not what you're after, you may find it's a really useful tool for many kinds of results.

  • Mute button wont become unchecked

Hi. my mute button on my mac mini will not become unchecked. so the sound is not working:(! please help!

I have a mid 2007 2 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo that has suffered the same problem. For the longest time it was intermittant, and usually would return after a reboot. Now it seems to be a hardware issue, as System Profiler reports "No Built-in Audio."
Any advice on the ease of repair for this problem? If I crack the case, is there some wire to wiggle or connector to push on?

I would like to create my own mute button in as3. I have created a video object which plays my video fine. I'm having trouble finding information on how to create a mute button that mutes the audio but the video continues to play. All documentation that I've read relates to controlling sound from an loaded .mp3 file. Does anyone know how I can do this? The gotoandlearn.com site explains it using as2 only.
    Thanks

    I figured it out:
    sound_mc.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, soundOFF);
    function soundOFF(e:MouseEvent) {
         var transform:SoundTransform = new SoundTransform();
         transform.volume = 0;
         stream.soundTransform = transform;
Thanks for all your help on this. You'll probably see more of my post as I struggle with AS3 and my flash project.

  • IPad 2 Mute button does not mute youTube videos or games

I noticed iPad mute button does not mute youTube videos or games. When the button is set to mute, videos or games have their own sound so I have to adjust it manually only after I can hear the sound.
Any suggestions on how to mute all sounds at once?

Muting is meant to mute the system sounds like the phone ring and text message notification, it won't mute music or video or games. Use the volume control to turn the audio down.

  • HP Probook 4520s: sound card doesn't work (no sound, red mute button)

    Нello!
I have an issue with my HP Probook 4520s. Its internal speakers  and microphone doesn't work. I've tried to install and reinstall drivers from here, tried to rollback driver to older version but I always have the same result: installed the IDT sound codec, and after a restart, the mute button  turned red and I cannot switch it.
    Soundcard device ID: HDAUDIO\FUNK_01&VEN_111&DEV_7605
    OS: Windows 7 Professional x86
    How can I fix it?

Hi, just registered to post my solution. I got HP ProBook 4330s in for repair. Problem: some sticky liquid spilled all over and no sound. Also discovered that no microphone as well, but webcam did work just fine.
    What I tried:
    1) Installed fresh Win 7 Ultimate 32-bit and all official drivers (audio driver did not want to install), still no sound. Sound icon shows red cross. Message: No audio output device installed.
    1) Installed the newest version of BIOS, in my case F.40, still no sound.
    2) Pluged in headphones, still no sound.
    3) Took apart, unpluged and firmly inserted every possbile cable, still no sound.
    4) Found in BIOS everything that relates to Audio. Made sure Audio device is enable, still no sound.
    5) Install XP and installed XP sound driver, still no sound. In fact, that driver did not install correctly, showed some kind of error.
What did work, in consecutive order:
    1) Took apart again and took out the coin battery that retains the BIOS data, date, clock etc.
    2) Put everything back together, switched on, entered the correct date in BIOS settings, and started Win 7 Ultimate. Still no sound. But I noticed that Win 7 Ultimate has found some devices and was installing drivers for it. Though did not check exactly which ones.
    3) If I could not get the sound working I was determined to buy some speakers with USB connection. Then, I remembered that I already had a set of speakers for another laptop. These speakers had USB connection to draw power from and a grean standard headphone connection/plug to draw audio signal. I plugged in these speakers into HP 4330s and the sound started coming from these external speakers. The sound icon next to the clock in bottom right corner switched to normal mode and I could control volume with my mouse. Then I unpluged external USB speakers and the sound started coming from the HP's built in speakers.
Checked with Device Manager that correct sound drivers are installed and microhpone appeared to be installed as well. Though did not check with Skype if microhpone was working.
I was soooo happy!!! I struggled with this problem for three long days, searched many forums (none gave solution), tried everything with drivers, took apart the laptop some three or four times (now I learned to do it with my eyes closed, so to speak).
I started to think that taking out the BIOS/date coin battery did the trick. There must be some glitch in BIOS to motherboard connection in these HP ProBook laptops, and all BIOS settings need to be reset.
I'll be happy if this helps someone.

    Hi,
The functionality of the mute button is provided by the IDT Audio software so the problem may be that Windows 8 has installed a reference driver that does not contain this.  Often, the Windows 7 version works Ok, so I'd try downloading and installing the following IDT driver.
    http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp48501-49000/sp48830.exe
After the installation has completed, restart the notebook.

  • Re: MUTE button stuck on blue in hp pavilion tx 2500 ( model tx2531au )

Is there anyone who has a solution to the audio output problem in hp tx 2531au ?
The audio meters in software shows fine and displays that audio is being played, even the mute-unmute is displayed as working fine but the mute button above the function keys is always stuck on blue, along with the volume up and volume down keys. The worst part of all this is that I do not have any audio output, from the speakers or from the headphone jack.
I have tried system restore, BIOS update, uninstalling and re-installing audio drivers, both the original drivers via recovery manager and latest ones via hp support, uninstalled QLB and also tried to install the latest drivers via audio's driver details.
Windows Home Premium is installed in hp tx 2531. Whenever I uninstall the Realtek HD Audio drivers, I am not able to update the drivers via installation through sp******.exe that I download from hp support. The installation of the exe files goes fine but the drivers are not listed in the device manager for the Audio. Instead, after restarting windows, Vista automatically installs the original drivers, which does not help. There is no audio output though all the software shows that its all fine.
This is very annoying as I am not being able to get any sound from this Entertainment PC, rendering music and video play useless.

  • Certain mute buttons don't work in 7.1.1

    Hi All,
For the first time today I noticed something strange. Any advice would be helpful...
Anyways, on my arrange page I also have my busses listed, but if I mute the bus on the list, it doesn't mute even though the button is highlighted, but if I press mute on the left corner channelstrip, then it will actually mute.
I have 3 other engineers in my studio and we were all confused about this. Is it a bug, or something we overlooked?
    Bet regards,
    Dream

The mute button you see in the arrange is an older type of mute and works at the midi or note data level.
The mute button on the channel strip works on the audio engine level. Not all mutes work the same way depepnding on the page you're using.
Tracks in the arrange page will mute the way you want (as per a recent upgrade) but busses, folders and some other objects won't mute. We've begged. We all wait.
The track mixer page (cmd-M) will have the mute buttons you need. Suggest you use this display as a current workaround and not use or view the mute buttons in the arrange page.
    Welcome.

  • How to add a mute button without using the default skin?

I want to use a mute/unmute button for my current project which does not use the default skin.  I searched the web and found the following solution.
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/163/2ed9f163.html
I followed the instruction and it works fine on single slide. The problem is that it does not carry through the whole project.  If I mute the first slide, the audio is on again on the next slide. My mute/unmute setting doesn't go to the next slide.
Any one have a solution to this problem? Any help or tips are greatly appreciated.

    Hi there
Did you pay close attention to step 4?

Addtionally, your post reads as if you feel the mute button is only avaliable with the Default playback control set. Note that there are all sorts of options with the supplied playback controls that offer enabling a mute button.
