Audio, no Video please help

Hi,
I know that many people are having this problem but I have not been able to find a fix.
I have a 5th generation ipod (I am positive), i have tried two different "made for ipod" cables and then also the generic cable with the colors switched correctly. I have it set to tv out- on, set to NTSC. All of the cables are pushed in all the way.
I recently updated my ipod and that is when my problems started. I have 1.3 version now, I am not sure what version I had before. It used to work just perfectly before I updated.
I don't have apple care so I can't call them and ask for help. Does anyone know what the deal is? Is there anything I can do to solve this problem? Thanks!

I'm having a similar problem, only it's even stranger for me. Everything works perfectly at home, but when I try to hook to a TV at my mom's or at work or at my birthday party a month ago all I am able to do is hear my audio. No video is going through.

I am brand new to DVD authoring, I used compressor 2 to export 2 hours of video for DVDSP.
Compression went fine, but when I imported assets, it only had video.
Where is the audio? I checked the set-ups but did not see anything relevant to including audio.

When you compress you get two files - one for video (m2v) and one for audio (.aif) - have a look in your compressor settings to see where the .aif went, or if you asked it to produce both video and audio (you can get it to do just one). You can also export the audio separately from FCP (or QT, etc) and use that in DVDSP.

JVC GY-HM150 MP4 only audio no video - Please Help

Hi there. I am using Adobe Premiere Pro CS5.5 in Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit. I recently went to a convention with and got a ton of footage with my JVC GY HM150. Now I'm back and trying to edit but when I try to import the MP4 it only shows it as audio and is shows to be an audio file. I have updated Premiere, Media Encoder and quicktime but to no avail. Also for some reason quicktime can't open the file but I know the file good cause VLC can play it with no prob. I know from the instruction book that it encodes in a 35 Mbps (Max) MPEG2 Long GOP VBR. This really pisses me off cause one of the main things about this camera was the ease to import and edit footage.

You don't say what your version of Windows you have. Assuming XP, go to Start | Run, type DXDIAG and click OK. Click the Sound tab and run the tests to eliminate a hardware problem first of all. If you don't hear anything, check your cables first of all. Also make sure "Mute" isn't checkmarked in your sound setup. You'll find that in Windows Control Panel.
Which browser do you use? If you have Firefox 4, sign up to the HTML5 trial @ http://www.youtube.com/html5
HTML5 is the latest video standard and doesn't require Flash player. Google is in the process of converting all its files to work with the new format. It may solve you problem. If you don't have Firefox 4, you can get it from here: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/fx/
IE8 doesn't support HTML5.
To clean out your temp files, go to Start | Run, type: CLEANMGR and click OK. Click OK again to start the utility. Tick all the boxes except "Compress old files" because the latter takes too long, and then click OK. You can run this utility any time you wish by the way.
The above steps will hopefully fix your problem. If not, post here again please.

Thank you for the help. Every app on my phone was downloaded using my old I-tunes ID. I just hope that they will re-download under my new ID because I still can't change it on my phone. In order to change to the new ID it says I have to sign out from the old ID and change to the new one. My problem is that I don't remember my password to be able to sign out from my old ID. Then the phone says it can change my password through e-mail and I agree but I never get an e-mail at my old address or the new one.

IMovie Full Quality Export Video Stops As Audio Continues. PLEASE HELP

Im making a video of my camping trip, and I tried to export it using the Expert Settings. When I watched it, it stopped about 1.5 minutes in. The video freezes but the audio continues. I really need this video up soon! If you've experienced this and know how to fix it, please help! I used a Canon SD1000 to record, I have a macbook core duo with 1 GB memory, 60 Gig Hard Drive, and iMovie HD 6.0.3.

And no external hard disk that interferes.
Then I would try to delete the iMovie pref file
iMovie
-->/Users/YourName**/Library/Preferences/com.apple.iMovie.plist
and
-->/Users/YourName**/Library/Preferences/com.apple.iMovie3.plist
and see if a new export will work
(to make this easy one might just start a new account (log-in) and use this and re-try)
- other thoughts:
• versions: Mac OS X.4.9 and iMovie 6.0.3 AND QT ????? 7.1.6 ?
• Running (Apple Disk Util tool): Repair permissions and Repair hard disk
might help (second one needs start from CD/DVD or external hard disk)

SWF displaying as Black or Blank Screen only the video audio play. PLEASE HELP!!

Hello,
I have tried getting my videos to play and all I get is a black screen with audio only.
After I got a blank screen, I uploaded the .flv (2MB) and the swf files to the server as well (same folder as the .html file) but that didn’t help – same blank screen.
Can anyone help me understand why this .swf won’t play?

Problem with recording video, please HELP!!!

I am trying to record incoming video with audio saving into a quicktime file. After recording the session the Audio is always fine BUT the Video displays some part inthe beginning then turns all white the rest of the way at random times. I.E. the session is 4mins long the audio is 4 mins and video goes 2 mins then turns white the rest of the way. Below is what I do to record a video with audio (- try/catches). Please help me out... i am really lost. thanks!

(flash8) and everything works like a charm.. I can scrub around
either by clicking or dragging, the volume only responds to clicks

Adobe desktop audio question. Please help.

I have been having issues all day recording audio into a project with a usb mic. After watching tutorials, I noticed an issue. In every video when the person go's to audio hardware preferences they have "Premier pro WDM sound" selected in the Adobe desktop audio menu. For whatever reason I don't have the WDM sound option in my window. (Please see pictures below) Is there a way to get that option? Please help.The first piccture is from a video. The second picture is my computer. I am using a macbook. Thanks

'Premiere Pro WDM' will only appear on Windows as it is referring to 'Windows Driver Model'. This will not show up on you're Mac. It might prove easier using other software for recording (Audition for example) as it's a bit easier to process the audio afterwards, it has a larger waveform preview and it's a bit easier to chop bits out etc.

Audio Sync issues - PLEASE help

I have created many videos in iMovie '09. I have used the HD setting for them, 1280x720 even though they were shot in SD format. I have uploaded them to YouTube and they all view just fine. They all viewed just fine in Quicktime version 7.6.6, as well.
I have been doing this for years now, since at least 2009, and all video/audio has worked flawlessly together.
My most recent problem (past few months) has been that I am now running Mac OS X version 10.6.8. My iTunes is 10.4 and my Quicktime is now 10.0
And now my audio and video WILL NOT SYNC.
I need help very badly because I have a presentation on Saturday and I need to load a bunch of videos (in the same viewer window) and have those videos play in a loop, one right after the other, while I'm talking to prospective clients.
I put these same movies into Quicktime Player 7 version 7.6.6 and they play just fine, still - I just tested this on my imac and my macbook.
I need these videos to play in my iTunes, but the audio/video sync issues have ruined my video play.
Can someone PLEASE help me remedy this situation. I would be forever grateful. I have casually searched for an answer, repeatedly but I need to remedy this by Friday night.

What format are you using in iTunes to play them back? Are these the exact same files as the one, you are playing back in Quicktime 7?

Ok, I did'nt get any answers the last time i posted this message, so I'll try again. It would be thankful if anyone answered me.
I have the latest Itunes and an Ipod 30Gb MKII. On my computer I have some music videos and some movies too in the formats .Avi, .Mov and perhaps more. The problem is that when I try to add them into my library in Itunes some won't just add?! And the little bunch of videos that after all do make it into the library won't fit into my Ipod even though I convert them into the proper format with my Itunes. The converted ones says "wrong format" or something. When I choose the setting to manually load my Ipod with videos, the converted videos work on my Ipod, but there's no sound. Why? Please help!

Some MPEG files don't seem to take the audio when you do an export from Quicktime player I've noticed, so i have to extract the audio and video seperately and re-mux them using a program call mpeg works, (all on a mac i'm afraid though).
the best way to make sure you get them iPod ready is to use quicktime to export the files using the iPod export setting. I think you need quicktime pro activated ($19 well spent for loads of video stuff). also you might need whatever the PC version of 'flip for mac' which allows avi and other non quicktime content to be played and edited/exported.....
doubt that helps too much though hey!

There is no set limit for length.
iMovie renders everything at the end, so the longer and more complicated your video is, the less likely it is to render. A standard def simple movie may be fine at an hour. A 1080P movie with multiple audio tracks and lots of FX may only go 20 minutes. It also depends on the speed of your processor and the amount of memory installed.
The rule of thumb is that iMovie is designed for simple consumer videos.
Final Cut Pro is designed for complex and long videos. FCP will render as you go so there is not this huge multi-thread render at the end.

Another DV audio sync thread - PLEASE HELP!!!

I've been using APP v2 for a number of years now and have never had this problem. I'm capturing footage from mini DV using a panasonic camcorder and today my audio is slowly drifting out of sync over my 1 hour tape. AHHHHHHHHHH!
I tried recapturing using the Canon XL1 it was shot on and same thing.
What is causing this, and why out of the blue did it start? In 3 years I've never had this happen and haven't changed computers, cameras, cables, anything?!
Please help. I'm going crazy

Actually, for Premiere Pro CS2 this is not uncommon. The Canon XL1 and GL1 cameras in particular had this problem. If you check the properties of the captured clip, you'll see that the clip frame rate is being reported as 29.96 FPS instead of the correct 29.97 FPS. Theis means the audio will get progressively out of sync with the video. It becomes really noticable after about 11 minutes. The problem is related to a non-standard audio sample rate created by the camera. Instead of being 48000 Hz, it is actually 48048Hz. This was a known problem with some older Canon cameras. Your best solution is to upgrade to CS4. Adobe corrects for this problem by creating conformed audio files. This essentially resamples the audio at the correct 48000Hz and eliminates the problem. If you search the Adobe knowledge base for "29.96" you should find a tech doc on this.
...Or, you could just buy a new camera.
