Audio not recording using built-in i-sight camera.

Hey!
I'm trying to record a few clips using my built-in camera. However, the audio is not recording!
It does record a voice-over and my settings in System Preferences are as follows:

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I'm assuming you are running iMovie '09 with the latest software updates, right?
If so, give this a try:
_ Disconnect all USB and FireWire devices, except for the keyboard and mouse.
_ Shut down your computer
_ Turn it on again and immediately hold down the Command-Option-P-R keys.
(When you hear the startup sound for the second time, release the keys.)
Then launch iMovie '09 and try to record a video using the Built-in iSight.

Unfortunately, it seems to be the case that Garageband is no longer compatible with Audiobus once you moved on to IOS7 . You can load it in as an output , the control bar shows and it looks fine but it does not work. I hope Apple sorts it out quickly . You can have a look at the Audiobus forum where there is a discussion on the subject.

Create table field (not record) using ADDT software

Hi,
I wondered if anyone can give me detailed help on how to create a table field on-the-fly instead of creating records, using ADDT software.
For Example:
I have two tables.
One table holds language names and codes, ie Australia and AU for the shortened code.
The other table holds country descriptions, but each table field is the shortened country code (in this case AU)
So what I want to do, is when I add a new language in the admin (ie, France) then it will create france in table 1, and also create the table field FR in table 2.
I am not up on programming, so if anyone can detail as much as possible, you will be saving my bacon here.

Hi.
Sounds like what you need is a "foreign key" in the detail table that points to the id of the country in the country table.
ADDT is perfect for this even if the documetation (and this klunky forum) is now third class.

Make special note of Step 2, item 5, second bullet point.
(Note item 4 demonstrates the point about pathetic documentation)
This would be applicable to your Detail Table that needs to have its foreign key pointing to the id of the country table.
For example, consider two tables with these fields:
Countries:
id_cou (the record ID)
name_cou (the name of the country)
isocode_cou (the ISO code for the country eg: AU for OZ)
Details:
id_det (the record ID)
idcou_det (the foreign key which is the ID in the Countries table - so this is an interger field - not a text field)
detailfield1_det (some detail info)
detailfield2_det (some more detail info)
etc
etc
So in the Dynamic LIst Wizard for the Details list you make sure that the foreign key points to the primary key of the Countries record.
Now, here is the neat thing: When you get to creating the form for the Details table the foreign key gets displayed as a menu showing the actual names of the countries listed in the countries table.
Experiment with that and see how you go.

Built In I Sight Camera No Working

I just finish installing my new I Mac 20 " and to my dismay I get a dialog box informing me that I don't have I Sight Camera connected to this computer when I try to use IChat or Photo Booth. I've installed all the patches and the firmware update to no avail, Any Suggestions?
iMac (intel) 20" Mac OS X (10.4.7) 2 GB or RAM

I phoned applecare and they went through everything. They've pronounced it (DOA) dead on arrival. the box does have a dent on the corner, maybe thats screwed the camera up!! Shame, cos the rest of the machine works perfectly and I love it. The applecare guy has arranged for a company to come to my house and swap it though. The company is gonna ring within 24 hrs to arrange appointment, cant ask more than that really! Just hassle. Just hope they bring one with the same spec, cos this one has extra vram as i bought it online. It seems a few are like this, and until apple work out what it is, they're gonna replace them. Just sounds like a loose cable inside or something, but apple aren't going to let you open it up and have a look!

I can;t get firefox to use my usb web cam. It always uses the built in i sight cam

fire fox uses the built in cam and does not recognize my USB webcam. Independent programs such as Skype, yahoo messenger and I chat have no problem with the USB cam.

No Audio when recording with built -in mic

i have used imovie HD for a while no and when i record with my macbook, it makes perfect video with sound. i have just done my first recording with imovie '08 and there is no sound at all. my setting are set to internal mic. is there something special i have to do to make it record both sound and audio?
please help. i have recorded about an hour of work for future keynote presentations and would be destroyed if i had to remember everything i came up with.

how do you do it?
1. Create a New Basic Track
2. Click the record button
3. There is no step 3.

Audio not recording properly doing voice-overs CS5

I'm in Premiere Pro CS5, the Audio Mixer window.
I'm using an external Go Mic to record a voice-over audio track. It is hit or miss... one time it records audio properly ... then I clear that track and record again and the audio is blank. I notice in these instances that in the Project window the "speaker icon" isn't next to the audio track... instead there is a square white icon with "recycle arrows" instead.
Anyone encounter this? Suggestions?
Update: I found that if i close Premiere Pro and open it again the audio file is there and its complete... ideas as to what causes this???

for my artist and myself while doing live recording.
Does your sound card have a headphone output? If it does connect a female single to double jac adapter so you can attach 2 pairs of headphones.

Audio not recording

Hi, I am recording audio through an Emagic A26.
Recently Logic stopped recording any audio. I have reinstalled the drivers for the A26, but this does not solve the problem.
Only the recording function seems to be affected. The A26 still functions as a sound card.
Does anyone please have a suggestion about where the problem might be? many thanks,

First of all you do not need to import the recording from Presenter because the audio recording should work in Captivate.
Please let me know some information in order to fix the issue.
1) Which OS do you have?
2) Are you able to record with the microphone out of Captivate in computer?
3) Is this issue occurring in all the Captivate 6 projects?

Muvo N200 - Improving Voice Recording Using Built In Microph

I noticed that there is a transparent sticker over the N200 display.
It seems to cover the microphone.
Has anyone noticed any benefit by peeling this off and then making voice recordings.
I have tested it but can't hear any difference.
Anyone got any voice recording tips ?

The transparent plastic is meant to protect the display from scratches. Although the plastic is covering the mic input hole. I don't think it makes such a big different in the recording.

IPhone 4 video is too large to import ?(using built in HD video cam)

Hi.
I have (1) video stuck in my iPhone 4 Camera/Video. All photos and videos synced with the exception of ONE VIDEO, taken with the built in camera for iPhone4.
My videographer ran out of disk space on his video cam. So we used my iPhone 4 for videotaping. All were great.
The one that is stuck (won't transfer to MAC/iPhoto/iMovie... is 22 minutes long.
When I try to transfer/upload to MyDisk/Me- the error says it is too long.
But shouldn't it transfer/sync when directly connected directly to my MAC??
Eeek! This is a critical video for a work interview. And it is stuck in my iPhone4.
I've checked the settings in iPhone and MAC for size criteria, and am not finding any "limits", etc...
I don't store music and photos on my phone (except to take them WITH my phone--for sycing TO my hard drive/apps.
iTunes can be scary sometimes when syncing--I'm afraid of wiping out what's on my phone.
Any help would be great.

Using Built in MacBook Pro Camera as a Security Camera

This might not be the right place to ask this, but here goes:
Is there a program or widget out there that can turn my Macbook Pro's webcam into a security camera. The scenario would be something like me leaving my laptop out on my desk and either taking a video at fairly low resolution (so as to not take up a lot of space) or take a small picture every 3-5 seconds that would later be compiled into a slide show. All of this being done silently so that whoever is either breaking into my room or stealing things does not know that this is going on. Also, sound does not have to be recorded.

Install a deadbolt on your door. If someone is breaking into your room, have you notified the police?

Built in i sight camera

My camera shows up in system profiler but does not work ...i get the same message others have reported...it appears to be in use by another application..though i have nothing open.

I can't help you but I do suggest you post your issue in the MacBook Pro forum. You'll get more bites that way.

No real helpful answer.

If I am not wrong, you need data from SQL tables in form of
XML. Then you can get that straight from SQL by using FOR XML
clause. FOR XML modes can be of 3 types RAW, AUTO or EXPLICIT. You
can use the mode as per your need.
