Audio not sync'ed on DVD

I created a project with a diaporama conataining 400+ images and 4 small videos from my DSC. I added some music from iTunes. When replaying, everything is OK, as expected. When I create the DVD image and play with Mac DVD player, images are stopped after 3rd one and music stops a bit later. If I burn the DVD, images are OK on home DVD player but music is de-sync'ed after the very first images and even sometimes is stopped for a second or two. Very frustrating after investing in the iLife'08 for better performance !
I changes parameters like 3 s per image, aso , no impact...
Any idea is welcome.

Welcome to iDVD Discussions.
You have 400 images in one slideshow??? Are the videos within the slideshow or as separate videos?
+When I create the DVD image and play with Mac DVD player, images are stopped after 3rd one and music stops a bit later.+
You only get through two images before trouble starts?
I don't recall ever seeing that things "improved" by burning a DVD...
+sometimes is stopped for a second or two.+
I've seen (heard) that during image transitions using a Toshiba DVD player.

  • Teleconferencing app - Video/Audio not synced

I have a Flex based application which is using Flash Media Server (FMS) server (version 4.0)  for live video streaming between two users (i.e. a one to one teleconferencing service). This streaming is one-to-one, as defined by business rules, so that no third person can join a teleconference. Either person can start the video stream via a browser-based Flex client and communication gets established once the second user joins. Validation for connecting the streams of the two users is implemented on the FMS server (as server side scripting defined in main.asc).
Almost every teleconference has video/audio sync issue of anywhere between 2-10 seconds (i.e. the audio and video feeds are not synchronized).
Question - any suggestions on how this can be corrected, either client or server side?
    Thanks for the ideas...

Re: Video/Audio not synced when viewing on computerT I'm using the HD+ mode and it is in synch. After more playing around I noticed that I sometimes experience the stop motion but then it quickly returns. It only happens when I have other programs open. If I close all programs and just have open the video, it works well. Again, this is a limitation of my computer power.
Try this... Open up the Task Manager and then play a video. See how much of the computers power you are utilizing when the video plays. Look at the processes that are open and close anything you don't need. Most people have too much stuff running in the background on their computers that slows it down. They usually come preloaded from the manufactor that way. I have set up my computer so that nothing runs automatically when you start-up. It makes the computer much faster.
Also, are you running Vista? Vista is a memory hog. Try messing around with Vista's settings. Vista can limit your computer power. With your computer power, you shouldn't be having such a problem. Maybe switch back to XP.

  • Apple's DVD Player: audio in-sync. External DVD Player: audio out of sync

I exported my Sequence from FCP to QT, used compressor to make m2v and ac3 (Dolby) files, then used DVD SP to burn a DVD.
When I play the DVD on my Mac Pro using Apple's DVD Player, MPEG Streamclip or VLC, the audio is in sync with respect to the images, FCP's Canvas and FCP's QT export.
But when I play the DVD using any of three different external DVD players, the audio momentarily drifts out of sync by 30 to 40 frames, near the end of my 30-minute program, but is back in sync after about a minute, when the shot at hand ends and the next shot begins.
More specifically, it's as if the video lags by about 30 to 40 frames, but there is no stuttering or other obvious visual sign that this is happening.
Why would Apple's DVD Player, MPEG Streamclip or VLC play the audio in sync while these external DVD Players play it out of sync?
I should add that in order to verify that the TVs to which the external DVD players are attached are not the source of the problem, I monitored the audio using headphones connected directly to the audio outputs of the DVD Players as well as connected to the headphone jacks of the TVs, and there was no difference, i.e. in both cases, the audio drifts out of sync momentarily, as I describe above.
I can only think that DVD SP is muxing the m2v and ac3 file in such a way that software DVD players can demux it without difficulty, but hardware DVD players cannot.
Does anyone know how to fix this problem?
    Thanks.

Please tell us what was wrong.

  • Audio not synced correctly

My audio recordings do not sync up with the correct sub-beat.  What setting do I need to change in order for the recording to be in the correct place?  It's usually off by a 16th note and I always have to drag it into the correct place, which is a drag, pun intended.

    Hi Steve,
Sorry about not getting back sooner but I had to take care of some family business. I looked at the FAQ's like you suggested and luckily I am using the ADS Pyro Audio Link which I purched several years age. It is working very well and I have never had a problem with it. I am in the process of digitizing almost 100 two hour home movie s-vhs tape which go back in some cases 25 years so I can archive them. The tapes are in great shape and look like they were shot yesterday. The project is going well. I have almost 80 of them digitized. I have started the second phase of the project which is to do a very quick edit of each one just cutting out the dead spots. I will then burn that edit to DVD and make several safety copies of each one to send to friends and family. Luckily so far I am only having audio sync problems with this one tape. I brought several others into the Premiere Elements 11 program just to check if they were ok audio sync wise and they were. Do you think it would be worth a try to digitize this problem tape again? Perhaps something happened just to this tape during the digitizing. This tape just happens to be the very first tape I shot back in July/August 1988 when my oldest son was born so it is quite important to us. I thank you in advance for you help and advice. Robert

  • MPEG Streamclip export. Audio not synced.

I have a ReplayTV (similar to Tivo), and use mReplay to download TV shows to my mac. I downloaded a show, and want to edit it. It downloads as quicktime file, but I can't edit the file when I open it in Quicktime. The little edit arrows are not there. So I import it into MPEG Streamclip, edit the clip, and then export it. But the audio is not synced with the video. I've played around with it quite a bit and can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. On the export, the settings I am using are: Export to MPEG-4, Compression is Apple MPEG4 Compressor, frame size is 720 x 480 (DV-NTSC). I've tried limiting the Frame Rate and Data Rate but that doesn't solve the problem. Any ideas on why it's doing this, and how I can solve this problem. Please help. Thanks for your consideration. Davi

The reason I have to different computers is because I use one to import and one to edit...I recently switched the import computer to FCX. I am importing 50 minute sermons captured in HD1080i60. When I use FC6, I would import it as HDV. The file would be a .mov When I use FCX, I just figured to do it the same way. Once its done importing, I try to quit FCX and it asks to quit background processes??? Never had this going on in FC 6...so I just stopped the rendering and quit FCX...then when I move the imported file into a project on FC6 everything goes fine until the export when the file fails to sync the audio...the audio is fine at the beginning but after a few special effects...the audio drags....I can alone think it has to do with my importing process...

  • Audio not sync with video using photo booth since os moutain lion was installed

Since OS Moutain Lion was installed my photo booth no longer function well, audio is not sync with video, the sound delay is obvious with the video outut wha can I do to correct this?

I've seen that problem in several threads, both here and in the Mountain Lion forum. I tried to replicate the problem but was unable to do so... so it's not a problem effecting all Macs. Try posting here - in the Mountain Lion forum - and see what you get as a search. There's one specific "More Like This" to the right on this thread but there doesn't seem to have been a solution posted.

  • Audio not synced with video on movie downloads

The audio is not synced with video on movie downloads from the ITunes store.  I have downloaded many movies in the past from the same PC with no problem.

    Hi Jimmyjoefl,
I understand that you are having playback issues with videos you have purchased from the iTunes Store. After doing some research, I found the following resource that describes your exact symptoms:
Troubleshooting iTunes for Windows Vista or Windows 7 video playback performance issues
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1718
Here are some things to check if, when viewing a movie in iTunes for Windows Vista or Windows 7, you notice that a video appears distorted, intermittently pauses, or has audio that is out of sync with the image on-screen.
    Thanks,
    Matt M.

  • Video and Audio not synced on .mov file in final cut, but perfect in QT!

I recently just captured a miniDV tape onto final cut. I captured it in 23.98fps. After I captured it and opened it up in final cut's sequence, the video and audio was not synced at all. it's way off and even when i try to move the audio around on the timeline and get one voice synced up, about a minute into the video it's off again.
i tried opening the video in quick time under the captured scratch folder, and when it plays in quick time, it's perfect. there is no sync problem at all. only when i open it in final cut is there a problem.
does anyone know how to fix this or what is going wrong?!
    HELP ME

well i mean we recorded it in 24PA, which is what we've been doing for this project of ours. And when we go to capture in final cut we choose the Advanced Pull Down setting. So in the end, our video is in 23.98 fps.
I just thought I'd mention that just to give more details. idk if it's helpful or not

  • Audio not syncing with Video when live streaming.

Hello, i was wondering if i could get a possible fix for a problem that's been keeping my streaming back. I am using a Dazzle capture card to stream video games, and Flash Media Live Encoder 3.2 to send out the feed. My video source is of course the capture card and i use a MAC program called "Audio Midi Setup" to create an aggregate device of both the dazzle audio and my microphone as an audio source for FMLE. This way, the viewers could hear both my voice and the game audio.
Everything works really well, except for one problem. The audio always occurs 6 seconds before the actions in the game that correspond to it, and my voice will mention something first before it happens, again off by 6 seconds. I've played around with a couple of the settings for audio and video, but no matter what, it's always a 6 second delay. I've had this problem for a while and am unsure if the problem stems to FMLE at this point, but would appreciate any possible help. Thank you

This is common for separately recorded audio.  Sync the start of both clips. then go to the end and adjust the speed of the audio clip until it get's back in sync at the end.  It should then be in sync throughout.  You'll have to experiment to get just the right adjustment.  My device's clips had to be adjusted to 100.4% speed to keep sync.

  • Video and audio not sync when i play all forms of video. from music videos, to tv shows. but they play perfect on my iPod. and tv shows display out of order on iPod, but in correct order on iTunes/computer. I even ran a virus check just to make sure.

audio and video do not syncronize.  all forms of videos. music videos to tv shows.  what do i need to do the syncronize them again
they are in sync on iPod, but not on computer.
another issue that might be from the same cause is, the order of episodes of the tv shows i have downloaded,   they appear in order on computer, but on iPod they show out of order.
any tips on how to fix this would very much help.
    thank you.

    Welcome to Apple Discussions!
An old version of iTunes will cause this and mess up the videos on your iPod. Always make sure you always use an up-to-date version of iTunes.
Make sure all the software on your computer is up to date...
    iTunes
    iPod Updater
    Updating iPod's Software
You will then need to restore the iPod and then let iTunes update your iPod and put your music, videos, etc. back onto your iPod...

  • Audio Not Syncing After Offline Conversion/Batch Capture from OfflineRT-DV

    WORKFLOW:
    1. Shooting HDV on a Sony HDR-V1U (DF/NDF Timecode setting is AUTO on the camera)
    2. Using the camera to downconvert to DV as I import into FCP 7 (final product will be NTSC DVD).
    3. I first capture and log using the OfflineRT NTSC (Photo JPEG) preset
    4. I make my Edits, and then use Media Manager to create new project and create offline media referenced by duplicated items. (Set sequences to: DV NTSC 48 kHz)
    5. The clips I need are then batch captured using Capture Preset: DV NTSC 48 kHz
    PROBLEMS:
    A. As I'm initiating my batch capture in step #5 above, the following warning is generated:
WARNING: You are about to capture Drop Frame media from a device currently detecting or configured for Non-Drop Frame media. If you proceed, you may experience changes in logged in and out points, problems relinking media, or removal of master clip relationships.
    B. When I playback my sequence, the in/out points are off by several seconds. (like the media within the clip slid ahead several seconds--to fix it, I would have to slide each clip back)
    QUESTIONS:
Q1: How can I properly execute my workflow while avoiding the WARNING above and the problem with the in/out points?
NOTE: The OfflineRT clips in the original project (#3 above) are shown as DF (semicolon in timecode), but the duplicated clips in the DV project (#4 above) are NDF (colon in timecode). I have already tried changing my capture preset to Firewire NTSC NDF, recapturing the clips, and the result is the same.
Q2: Should the capture preset be the same or different when logging the first (OfflineRT) and second (DV NTSC 48kHz) times?

Wish I had a simple answer for you, stay tuned, some folks who actually use those cameras will drop by sooner or later.

so neither camera captures properly? that's odd. We know the Canon is going to give you trouble but the Pani should work.
Try searching the forum for your camera models, see what comes up. Many different cameras shoot their own versions of various image, frame, and pulldown formats.

  • Imported Reason audio not syncing with GB metronome

I'm working on a project in GarageBand that is built around a piano part that was exported from Reason. The Reason audio track is 128 BPM, so I created a GarageBand project that was the same tempo. The piano slows down at the very end of the song, so I set up the automator to adjust the GB tempo at the end. When I started recording other instruments, I noticed that the metronome was slightly off -- it starts out in sync, but the further along I get into the song the more out of sync it becomes (way before the tempo change at the end). I made the mistake of simply turning off the metronome and playing along with the piano track. Now I'm trying to add in some drum loops and the result has been disastrous.
So, what gives? Why aren't they in sync? Is there anything I can do about it? I'd rather not have to go back and re-record all of my instruments if that's possible to avoid.
    Thanks.

After importing the GarageBand file into Logic I found that GarageBand for some reason had the the time signature changing slowly over time rather than instantly at the correct measure.

  • Audio not sync with Video

I am using a Sony DVMC-DA1 to convert VHS tapes into Final Cut Express. After I finish capturing is says,
"The audio sample rate of one or more of your captured media files does not match the sample rate on your source tape. This may cause the video and audio of these media files to be out of sync. Make sure the audio sample rate of your capture preset matches the sample rate of your tape."
I have looked in books and feel that I have tried everything. The audio is still not in sync with the video. I am out of ideas. Does anyone know how to fix this?

What is the audio settings of your sequence? It has to match that of the video you're importing
I'm not familiar with the unit you're using to import but basically, if your video is 16 Bit 48K then your sequence, your timeline, as to be the same, say NTSC (or PAL) DV. If the video is being captured at 12 Bit, your sequence should be NTSC (or PAL) 32K.
Having mismatched audio rates in your timeline will usually lead to out of sync audio

  • Audio Not Syncing with video

When I go to test my video the audio and video are playing at different playback speeds. I'm trying to
create a video using Flash that requires events based on the song itself. Any idea how to make the audio and video play at the
same speed during Timeline playback and testing?

Syncing sound with animation in Flash is not an easy thing to do. First, understand that there are three ways of playing sound in your movie:
Placing sound directly in the timeline
Placing sound in the library and accessing it via ActionScript
Placing a sound file on the hard drive (locally or on a web server) and accessing it via ActionScript
Sound that's in the timeline can be synced precisely, but you can't use a sound clip that's very long. It's meant for beeps and such, not for an entire song. But if you use sound like this, set it to Stream for best results.
Sound in the library has a chance of syncing if you load it as a SoundChannel. Remember to import flash.media.SoundChannel at the beginning of your ActionScript.
AFAIK, there is no reliable way of syncing an external sound file.
