Audio offset from video after capturing

another issue i am having is at random when i capture, the audio is off by about .23 secs. i can fix it by cutting the audio and shifting it over, but is there a way to prevent this?

Do you have "abort capture on dropped frames" and "create new clip on timecode break" preferences enabled? If not, you may have synch problems and you will probably not be able to recapture accurately.

Thanks for the advice given by Shooternz, Colin and Jim. Your help is much appreciated for a beginner like me... Jim's idea was also good..It worked for me and also safe if I need to use the original audio. Following method also found good...but previous audio clip cannot be extracted after deleting it. ... 1. Hold down "ALT" key first then select the first audio clip in the chain of video clips to Delete. 2. Hold down " Shift + Alt " keys together and click right mouse button on all audio clips to be deleted one by one. Make sure only audio clips are selected. 3. Then release ALT+Shift keys and then click right mouse button and select "Clear" from pull down menu to Delete all selected audio clips on the time line. This method works very well for me. Without knowing any details about your comp or render settings, this is going nowhere. This could be anything from Quicktime acting up to having set the work area.... We don't even know what version of AE you use on what OS.

LR 5.5 - Cannot export/publish to HDD or Flickr from video frame capture - "An internal error has occurred: assertion failed"

Basically as the title states, I cannot publish a set of photos that originated as video frame captures, whether to my hard drive or using a service plugin for Flickr. I have tried multiple publish service plugins for Flickr and everything fails precisely the same way. This only happens when I add photos to the collection that are JPG's derived from video, and it only started doing this recently. I have other frame captures that I uploaded just fine, but it appears that nothing from the set I worked on the other day wants to upload. Other NEF-derived photos from the same set work just fine.
All I get is a Warning dialog stating that an error has occurred while the main dialog stops on "Preparing to export...", then it kicks me back with no action taken when I click OK. The status in the upper left says "Updating Published Collections". If I remove the new frame capture photo, it works fine, but as soon as I add one to the collection, it fails to publish.
I updated from 5.4 to 5.5, tried new publish plugins, completely removed and recreated my local profile, reimported my catalog, all to no avail. Everything worked fine two days ago, then when I went to upload my latest edits yesterday, I started receiving the error and have had no luck fixing it.
I used debugView to capture a log as the error occurred, so I can provide that for a developer or support contact if required.
EDIT: I just tried choosing some different photos in the set, and most appear to work, so it is just some particular images that it does not like. I will try to narrow it down.

I narrowed it down to one photo in particular that it does not like. It's not a deal-breaker, but I am still curious what is going on that is causing that one photo being in a set to break the publish process

Audio not accompanying video in capture

Suddenly my system stopped capturing the audio associated with video clips. I'm using PP CS4 on a Mac (Leopard) and have used this configuration including this camcorder for more than a year (and have used Premiere since 2002). The exact setup successfully imports audio with video into QuickTime and iMovie but not Premiere PCS4. I've tried every setting I can think of --not that I'd altered any since it last worked--but cannot find the problem. Of course this has brought editing to a halt so any help leading to a solution will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

No waveform display on captured clips--definitely flatline.
No changes were made by me (intentionally) on settings between the time it was working and the time it wasn't. I did use another sound program in between and it was launched at the time of launching Premiere but I've sinced rebooted the computer a number of times, ensuring that that sound program (Soudsaver) was not launched and doing all the usual things of checking connections and with the camcorder, etc, everything as normal except that audio signal capture of video clips still fails.
Capture settings for video: abort for dropped frames unchecked; the other three are checked.
Capture settings for audio:
          automatch 1.0 secs.,
          Mixdown type Front+Rear;
          Play audio while scrubbing;
          default track format: use file
          linear keyframe thinning
          (two other boxes unchecked)

FCP told me I needed to change my settings in order to use the .mov with my current timeline. I said OK, fine. Now, when I capture from my XDCAM some of the audio is in sync but it goes out fairly quickly. Any Ideas? I noticed in the bin the clips which are out of sync have a different data rate then the good ones. HELP!

Video and Audio not in sync after capture

Hi there,
This is probably a common problem, I have trawled the site but can't seem to find and explanation for it.
I'm capturing vide/audio into final cut pro from my SONY DVR. The video i have streaming into the sony DVR is from a small covert video device which records video/audio onto an SD card. SO I'm running that into the DVR and then DVR is outputting that as DV PAL firewire (uncontrollable device).
I'm capturing the 40 minutes of video as one clip, and when i drag it into the timeline the audio and video are WAY out of sync. Is there a simple reason for why this is happening?
It's almost as if not capturing it right.

It is interesting that you are having this problem. I recently purchased a brand new Mac Pro (a week ago) and I am using Premiere Pro and it is doing the exact same thing. I mean this video and audio is REALLy out of sync. I tried capturing an hour at a time, and 30 minutes at a time. Still, no luck. I was debating on getting Final Cut, but after reading this post I am rethinking not only Final Cut, but using Apple all together. Part of me thinks that it is not a Premiere or Final Cut problem but a Mac OS problem. But hey, what do I know. I only edit for a living.

Audio missing from Video Podcasts after upgrade to ITunes 6.02

This seems to be a common problem with no answers from Apple. All my videos have had the sound track rendered silent after downloading 6.02 upgrade. The new downloads are silent as well. Tried reinstalling Quicktime and ITunes to no avail. Program is acting pretty chunky now responding to commands when in video mode also.

Same problem with me and it seems a lot more users. Audio and Video are playing fine in other players and other types of video, everything is connected as it should. You would think that something major like this would not get past quality control before it's being released. I'm getting more and more agitated as there has been absolutely no mention of this from Apple, yet this seems to be a wide spread and major problem. I bought Season 1 of The Office tonight and it is rendered useless because audio won't play, and the DRM limits how you can view your videos.

Fast video after capture

I have looked but have not found out how to resolve this problem.
I am capturing video from a JVC CyberCam (1800's model) Any way, through fire wire. I have been capturing video just fine but now after I capture the video and play it it is running super fast. So I captured it again with a timecode printed on it and sure enough it will capture 3 to 4 frames (I think) and then skip two.
Any thoughts?

Here are some properties for the test clip I just captured. I reset the Easy Setup to see if i could default back for my capture, still nothing and it still skipps three frames. It plays fast like this if I play the captured video in just quicktime too. The camera is an old one, JCV GR-DVF10. I have composites coming out of it to a Formac Capture box thing. It comes out of that box through a fire to go to my computer. Any that has all stayed the same to my knowledge but I will play with that too.

Converting Audio track from video

My niece has been singing in a choir for the last few years and my brother will post her performances/solos on youtube.com for the rest of the family to see. It has been a great way for us all stay together. I recently saw where you can download videos from youtube into itunes as movies, which I have done on a couple of his posts. What I wanted to know, is if there is a way for me to convert those video files (I think they are mpeg-4) into regular audio or songs? I would like to do this for two reasons, first, I thought it would be a nice way to allow my brother to put some of his daughters songs on his iPod (when I try this on my iPhone the videos are placed in the music folder and they don't mix with my other music), and second I was going to make a CD for our father who doesn't have an iPod.
Does anyone know if there is a way capture the audio from a video file?

Good to know. Thanks. Sometimes I get confused on what works in which version. Glad that I do not have to deal with Avid and FCP in the course of the day. I still try to do things in AE, that I do int PrPro, and still get lost with the little differences in the GUI.

Lost audio and slowed video after changing to WIN 8

Apparently there were drivers to correct this issue from conexant high defintion audio 220. Is there any chance that drivers will be updated? And video has slowed down by 4 times.

Did you use the Microsoft Compatibility Center for Windows 8 . before you upgraded to Win 8?

Basically it says
HP provides upgrade instructions and drivers for most computers sold after October 1st , 2011.

You may have to go back to Win 7, on the other hand you can try to load Win 7 drivers on Win 8, does not always work though.

I have a few songs from concerts, am I able to take just the audio from the video and convert it into an mp3 file?

please add som infos about your set-up in 'My Profile', it makes it easier to give the right answers...
iMHD allows in its Quicktime/Expert Settings the selection of .aiff, which is the audio-only of your project.
in a second step, you can add that aiff file into iTunes, which converts it in mp3, if you did choose that in iT's prefs ...

The only solution to remove this data from your phone is to go nuclear: Restore your phone as a "new" device in itunes, followed by syncing your content back to your phone. ALL data on your phone will be erased, including these "phantom" email addresses. There is no other way to remove this data from your phone.

Premiere CS6: Mutlicam audio "unlocked" from video

Hi all, I'm new to Premiere CS6 after working with Liquid for years, so apologies if this is a stupid question. I tried to scan the forums for an answer but didn't find anything, so here goes:
I am syncing three separate video files using Multicam with the same Marker point. (No timecode) The resulting Multicam file syncs up perfectly, video AND audio, in the left-hand window. But when I select new Mark In and Mark Out points on the file to add footage to the Timeline, the audio track no longer syncs up. It's almost like I've changed the video Mark In spot, but not the audio one... Which makes no sense, since the Multicam file should be its own separate entity?
The flipside: When I add that piece of footage to the Timeline, the audio (in the Timeline) is re-synced once more. So my end result has video and audio perfectly in sync... but when I'm auditioning footage in the upper left-hand window, the audio doesn't line up.
Like I said, I'm sure there's some simple solution I'm missing here. Thanks in advance for your help.

Hmmm. Well, I imported each video clip into the Media Bin, then screened them one-by-one in the Source Monitor. At the appropriate mark-in spot, I set a Mark In on each clip.
Next, I highlight all three clips simultaneously in the Media Bin, then right-click to choose "Create Multi-Cam Sequence." And I select "Marker Point." Premiere then creates a new clip in the Media Bin, renamed "Clip1MutliCam" (for example). I click on THAT clip and all 3 angles appear in the Source Window.
My problem arises when I start adding Mark In & Mark Out to the Multicam Clip so I can add footage to the Timeline. The audio goes out of sync in the Source Monitor... But the same footage, when placed on the Timeline, has synced audio once again. So the issue is in the Source Window only.
Sorry for not explaining that one better. I haven't tried syncing clips in a sequence. Again, I'm just a novice at this... My method seemed very similar to how Liquid does MultiCam, so I assumed it would work in similar fashion.

Audio unsynced with video when capturing analog HD with Kona LHe card!

This is kind of an emergency because i am in the process of logging a feature film. I am using the Kona LHe card to capture analog audio and video with the JVC BR-HD50 HDV deck. It is 720p24 HDV footage converted to analog DVCProHD 720p59.94 footage through the Kona. My issue is that the audio is about 4 or 5 seconds unsycned with the video...I am also getting some audio popping. The audio sounds fine when listening through the line mixer but it pops when i play back though FCP. I already contacted AJA (the makers of Kona) and they its a FCP problem...Any prompt help would be greatly appreciated...

What version of FCP are you running? If you can, get to the most current version as this solves a lot of issues with the DVCPRO HD codec.
