Audio ok on computer, bad on stereo

I downloaded songs off itunes to go with my slideshow. I created it in iphoto then exported to idvd to burn. On the computer, the songs sound fine, but some of the songs do not sound good when i played it on my dvd/tv (sound coming from stereo). How can sound quality be fixed to sound better when not played on computer?

but some of the songs do not sound good when i played it on my dvd/tv (sound coming from stereo)
What does "do not sound good" mean? Scratchy, noisy, poor low freqs, poor high freqs?

the old apps are on my computer but they have had upgrades since they were put on the ipod originally.  you think you would get a warning about this when you restored. I was not worried about losing the progress of the apps but i would have been worried about the app it self!!!!!

  • How can I get synched audio through the computer rather than camera in FCE?

There does not seem to be an easy way to listen to FCE audio through the computer's setup for internal or external speakers. I have for years used Detour to route all of my audio through an M-Audio Firewire 410 interface, and then on to my home stereo system. I then route all systems sounds and sounds in apps like iMail through the internal speaker. This works great. Except with Final Cut Express. For quite a while I could not do anything except play through a firewire connected to an attached Sony PC100 digital video camera, plugging headphones into it's jack.
After many hours and reading many strings on this and other discussion boards, and even reading the product manual, I tried sending FCE through the computer speaker and sure enough it works. By that reasoning, I had Sound Prefs send all audio through the m-Audio setup and that works. Except now I must listen to all of the system sounds that way as well.
OK, I could live with that for my editing sessions, except that now I am experiencing a sound synch delay of around one second. It's all fine when I switch back to the camera as the monitor, but not when routed through, what should be the better sound setup, having the comouter send the soud via the m-audio and stereo.

In final cut, you want the audio to be following the same path as the video - otherwise, as you have experienced, there are processing delays.
If you are sending your video out firewire to an external monitor, the audio should follow. Take the audio off of the A/DV converter and route it to your speakers (or amp & speakers) from there.
    good luck.

  • How to play music or voice audio from my computer though my sterio system.

How can I play music or voice audio from my iMac G5 computer though my sterio system. I have tried everything I can think of. I just can not get the audio from my computer to play though my sterio system. I want to take the audio from my computer and record it back to audio cassett. Please tell me there is a easy way to go about this LOL. Thanks.

I wanted to give a big thanks to all that gave me great and very needed help. I wanted to let everyone know that. I did fix my problom with get music out of my computer and into my stereo. Here is how I did it. If you already have a stereo with a RCA line in you are good to go. All you need is a hifi-link I got one from circuit city. With it you can take the music from your computer be PC or Mac and play it though your stereo but again your stereo must have a audio in for you to get music to come though your stereo or at least it was the only way I could get it to work for me. Oh and you will need a free USB port on your computer for the hifi-link to hook to see it dose not us your computers audio card. Instead it go's though your USB. It work just great. But you should read on the back of the box or when you are looking for iy on the net make shour it will work with your computer some older systems it will not work with.
I have been needing a new stereo for sometime now. I really like shelf stereo systems. So I got me a Sony MHC-GX570XM. Now it sells for $249.95. Now I did a search for this system and the only plays I could find that sells it was Sony. Now here is the kicker I went to Sams with my Dad. We had stoped to look a the flat screen TVs. As we were walking away from the electronics. I saw it as plain has day there it was in all it glory. Now the crazy thing is this system was not on there web site though it could be now. But when I was looking for this cool system they did not have it on there web site. I got this system for get this $199 thats like I think $50 off the asking price. Now I would have been more then happy to pay the $249.95. I liked to have had a fit right there in the store LOL. I thought I was going to have to order it online. If I had did that I would had haved to pay even more with s/h...
Now two of the big reasons I got this system was for the PC/line in or you can hook up a MP3 player and play it though the system very cool. Sec reason It has to cassettes decks 1 plays and the other recordes. The really cool thing is it is XM radio ready. Though you will need a XM membership and a XM antina. But from what I have read thats all you need. It also has a 3 CD changer that swivals. It has so many cool thing I can not name them all. Now this system my not be for everyone. But it dose all that I need and more. Also it really helps to have a hifi-link so you can hook it to your computer the easy way and not have to go though your sound card. Thanks again for everyones time and help.

I think this is probably a sign that your network could be better than it is.
Intermittent problems are often a result of interference. Interference can be caused by other networks in the neighbourhood or from household electrical items.
You can download and install iStumbler (NetStumbler for windows users) to help you see which channels are used by neighbouring networks so that you can avoid them, but iStumbler will not see household items.
Refer to your router manual for instructions on changing your wifi channel or adjusting your multicast rate.
There are other types of problems that can affect networks, but this is by far the most common, hence worth mentioning first.

  • Why Does FCE capture DV audio as dual mono instead of stereo?

FCE captures DV audio as dual mono audio files instead of a single stereo audio file. You can see this if you "Show Movie Properties" in Quicktime. Files I captured in Premiere 6 years ago have a single stereo file. The problem is that the new dual mono format for DV won't play on the Final Cut Pro 3.04 installed on my wife's G4 (OS 10.4.11, Quicktime 7.6.2). FCP 3.04 doesn't see any audio for these dual mono files though it will play the video. It won't even create an audio waveform. But FCP 3.04 plays the older stereo audio clips captured in Premiere just fine. And if I export the dual mono files out of QT as a stereo file, then FCP 3.04 will play them just fine.
This lack of backward compatibility is quite frustrating. I can't seem to find a setting in FCE that will capture audio as a single stereo file. Why isn't NTSC DV always stereo? I guess maybe they had to go dual mono to facilitate surround sound panning in 5:1 or something. If nobody knows how to do this in FCE, I guess I'll just capture in FCP 3.04. I spent the better part of a day figuring out this hidden little tidbit. The lesson is don't try to go back!! We must always accelerate forward into newer versions and formats.

The problem is in your wife's machine. She is using a version of the OS and QuickTime that are much too new for the version of the software she's using. She really not not be using an OS newer than 10.4.10 and QT should 7.2 or earlier.
Yes. I was beginning to suspect that this was at the root cause of my issue. Thanks for the info. Frankly, my wife needs to buy a new Intel iMac so we'll both be able to work on the video I'm dumping. I had FCP 3 lying around from years ago and it's the only thing that might have worked on her old G4 AGP, so I thought I'd give it a try.

  • When i export a audio mono channel it turns into stereo

    hello
something went wrong somewhere along the way, now every time i export an audio channel it forms as a stereo channel.
by the way, how can i split a stereo channel on logic 9 into two seperate mono's?

    Hi,
1st: There's a little circle below the channelstrip's level meter indication mono or stereo. If it's a single circle, it's mono. If it's a double circle, it's stereo. You'll also see the level meter single or double. Look for the single or double level meter!!
2nd: Be sure you've created a mono audio track. If the track yo try to export is stereo (look at the level meters if they are doubled or not!), the resulting audio file will be stereo. That's because the export function puts the audio data through the circuitry of the track's channelstrip. If you put any Audio file, be it stereo or mono, into a mono track, the resulting export file will be mono. If you put any Audio file, mono or stereo, into a stereo track, the export's result will be stereo.
Experiment - there seem so be a little inconsistency when or when not logic switches a track from mono to stereo and back!
3rd: If you want to avoid the channelstrip alltogether, use the sample editor or the bin to convert the stereo file into split files (one for L, one for R)

  • After HP auto update to my computer on 10/31/12, audio on my computer is not working,

Auto HP update applied on 10/31/12.  Audio on my computer is no longer working.

My Envy is with out sound also...so much for the great beats audio.  If you use a HDMI monitor that has sound it will give you sound through the HDMI.  A little quality control at HP would really be appreciated.

how do you play it on the car stereo?
because if it's using the 3.5mm headset connector or even the analog out from the pin30 then it's
100% the same sound output from the phone as it provide a headset

  • Why is video/audio jerky when computer played through Apple TV?

I have my MacBook Air connected to my TV through Apple TV and Airplay.  When I am watching movies or TV shows from my computer through Apple TV, the sound and picture on my TV is often jerky, with sound going in and out and video freezing then starting up again.  When I disconnect from Airplay, the movie plays perfectly on my TV screen.  Why is the sound and picture so bad when playing through Apple TV?  I use a brand new Airport Extreme as my router.
    Thank you,
    Ian

Dear Vazandrew, many thanks for your advice. The issue was non-existent with OS Maverciks and appeared after upgrading to Yosemite on iMac 2013. In addition to the stutter of image and audio on airplayed content in regular intervals, it is virtually impossible to disconnect the airplay from the Apple TV by selecting "disconnect airplay display" - one needs to restart the machine to disconnect. The configuration includes the latest release of Apple TV, with latest software, the latest Airport Extreme, with latest software, and the 2013  iMac with the latest OS - Yosemite. I would like to reiterate there was no stutter issue with Macericks and a google serach of the stutter issue shows this issue was reported by other users as well - following upgrade with the official Yosemite and a number of report during the beta testing of Yosemite.
I would be happy if someone could please advise how this issue could be escalated so that a proper attention is paid by Apple.

  • Satellite A100: audio stream recorder requires something called stereo mix

Trying to use an audio stream recorder/convertor program but it requires something called "stereo mix". The toshiba A100 does not appear to have this?? Help?
Tried downloading latest drivers from Tosh site for Realtek sound card but this has not made a difference.

Here's how to fix the problem.
    1. You need a new driver in order to control the input signal given by any hardware (CD) or virtual source (WinAmp, streaming radio etc.). The driver you need is called Virtual Audio Cable that's able to connect and loop back any audio signal between any devices on your computer. You can check it out in a demo version before you buy it (price $30). Get more information and download it here: http://nrcde.ru/music/software/eng/vac.html
    2. After instalation read and follow the "Simple cable usage" part of the manual very carefully and you're ready to record on your virtual recorder from any source you want. Please notice you have to have the "Audio repeater" open (and started) in order to hear the output on your computer speakers. If you have set up the Virtual Cable 1 to control your audio input, it should be chosen as Wave in in the Audio Repeater and Realtek HD Audio output should be chosen as Wave out. This is set automatically if you In control panel/sounds and devices/devices chose Virtual Cable 1 as standard device for record of sounds instead of Realtek HD Audio input and Realtek HD Audio output as standard device for playing sound.
    3. Virtual Audio Cable mix any audio input including the Windows sounds. Select no sounds in Control panel/Sound and devices/sounds if you don't want to mix Windows sounds with your recording.
    4. Advanced functions: You can manipulate and optimize the sound quality in the cable and audio repeater setup.
    That's all - have fun
    Sincerely Cornelius
PS. I have proved that my Satelite A100 can do the same as any other Windows computer with the Realtek driver instaled. It's the first time I have purchased third party software in order to get basic Windows sound functions to work.

  • I captured from mini-dv camcorder to FCP7 using control from my computer and firewire. I cannot find the file or clips I transferred anywhere except for in Finder. How do I get the clips from Finder to FCP7. Also I did not see audio on the computer meters

I captured from mini-dv camcorder to FCP7 using control from my computer. I only find the capture clip in Finder. How do I get the clip in Finder to FCP7.
Also my audio in the capture was not showing up on my audio meters on my computer-is this normal. Thanks

you will not see the audio meters from within fcp move while capturing.
If you only see the captured clip in the finder, not within fcp, there's something wrong.  You might try deleting your fcp preferences

  • Trying to capture audio from the computer output.

I'm trying to figure out how to capture the sound output, and either record it as a .wav, .mp3, or garage band track.
    The end goal(s):
    1. Full screen video and audio capture -- for example, capture a window as a video, and any sound effects generated by that program. Note that capturing the full screen is just as good for me as capturing a single window.
    2. Recording audio/voip calls. I know that if I run garage band and iChat, then the two will talk to each other, and record each person in a seperate GB sound channel. But other audio chat programs (skype, teamspeak, ventrillo) don't have that.
Garage band will record what I say into the microphone. However, what the computer generates over the speakers/headphones -- what the other people in the conversation say -- does not record.
Skype is the one I'm most interested in (this weekend).
Any advice/ideas? None of my searches turned up anything.
    Mac Mini 1.42 1G   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

    It records skype.
Outside of skype, I can't figure out how to record both sound out and sound in. It records either one, but not both.
And I still can't find anything like the Camstudio program for microsoft windows -- record either full screen, or fixed area of the screen, or a window, over time, along with the audio (either a single program, or the whole system).
Note that with this recording audio, a seperate program for recording video, and some way to synchronize a video and audio track that don't like up perfectly, that would do it. Any ideas?
