Audio on/off multi page article

Hi,
A while ago when we first looked into DPS, we created a multi page article that had an audio file on that auto played on open. It played throughout the 5 or 6 pages withing that article. We manged to create buttons on each page to stop the music at any point without having to return to page 1. We now are nearly ready to go live with one of our publications, but for the life of me, I can't turn the audio off, on any page apart from the first one?!
I have done this before, but has something now changed for this to no longer work?
We are on the latest set of tools.

Dear Sir/Madam,
Using the Save Page As....from the drop down window of Firefox 4 I could not save moe than the first page of a multi-page article. I could not figure out, from the available options, what else to use to achieve it.

What do you mean by Tabs sub-menu is it right-clicking on a tab ?
I know that "ctrl-shift-D" still work.
I know that a right-click on a tab gives the "Bookmark all Tabs" function.
But I would like to see it back in the Bookmarks menu. (which is its logical place)
Because today the choice only disappeared from the menu as it is still reachable through keyboard shortcut or through mouse right-click on a tab
but tomorrow it will totally disappear and personally I don't want that as this is one of my favorite functionality.

Multi page flowed subforms - help/resources

Hi,
Im having trouble with "flow" and multi pages subforms.
I got a copy of JP Terry's book and also purchased the PDF bible - neither seem to have what i need.
My forms are about 6 pages long each, and i want them to expand a contract based on user interaction (ie they are asked to tick a checkbox to add another beneficiary etc on a number of occasions).
I can get the individual pages to expand and contract within themselves, but can not get subforms to flow properly over multiple pages.
This is really a problem for us, as we dont want big white spaces if the client does not tick yes for example.
Can anyone recommend a book, article or whatever on flowing multipage subforms
i am setting allow page breaks and expand to fit etc and still not working. im on ES 8.2 (acrobat 9 pro)..........
I tried to get the forms "finished off" by a contractor but they wanted 125 US (270 NEW Zealand dollars, or about 3 days average wages here) an hour which is a killer for a startup.....so any help or guidance much appreciated as were stuck... and have been for a month now......

Please see a working version of your form attached.
I used the following concepts to fix your issue:
"invisible" versus "hidden" - Setting a subform to invisible will hide all the subform's objects, but will preserve the whitespace. For a form to expand and contract you must set subform visibility to "hidden"
Positioned subforms have fixed height - Setting a positioned subform to "visible" will result in whitespace when some/all of its content is hidden
Flowed hierarchy - For a Flowed subform to collapse and expand correctly all of its parent subforms up the hierarchy to the root node must also be Flowed. A good test is to click on an object within the subform that is not flowing correctly and navigate up the hierarchy using the left arrow key whilst keeping an eye on the Subform pallet. Any content that is Positioned needs to be changed to Flowed
This resulted in the following changes in your form:
Change the initialise event on more_trustess from this.presence = "invisible"; to this.presence = "hidden";
Moved tee4-sub out of the positioned tee3-sub
Set p2 to Flowed

Creating Multi-Page PDF from a Layerd Illustrator file (script)

Often times when designing a logo I create different versions and variable options on layers. This can result in several layers in one Illustrator file. Is there an easy way or an existing script that will allow me to (with one click) create a multi-page PDF consisting of all the layers within my .ai file? The current method is turning on each layer, performing a save-as (PDF), then turning off said layer and turning on the next layer and repeating the task and so-on-and-so-forth, etc … It becomes tedious and quite often I save over the previous version, forgetting to re-name it or forget to perform a save on a certain layer. Can anyone help with some advice? I have never written my own script before but am not opposed to trying, where do I begin?

You don't say what OS you are using and which scripting language you are thinking of doing this in…
This is a sample that may get you started done in JavaScript so it's platform independent with the exception of my 'mac style' file paths.
If your on a PC it may just be a typo to set to C drive or whatever you call them things…
If you are on the mac OS then it should just dump a load of PDF's on your desktop.
You say about a multi-page PDF but don't think Illustrator can do this unless its been added with multi-artboards in CS4?
Others would have to let you know that…

How to Design Multi Page Report in SSRS 2008

Hi All,
I have managed to create a multi page report. When I am preview mode i can see that the report has 2 pages.
But when I am in design view I cannot view the second page. How can I view the second page. Reason being I am trying to create a template where the table for certain data needs to be at the top of the page and some data at the middle and so on.

According to your description, the behavior of cannot view the second page in design view is expected, in another way, there is only one page in design view.
Report Designer supports two views: Design to define the report data and report layout, and
Preview to display a rendered view of the report. If you would like to show a table on the first page, and show the other table on the second page, you can add a page break on the first table like followings:
1. Click the gray handle in the first table, select “Tablix Properties”
2. Click “Add a page break after” check box under Page break options in General Tab
After do above, you can see the first table in the first page, and the other table in the second page.

Duplicate form fields across multi-page forms

Hello!
I have some multi-page forms which include a few identically laid out pages; pages which take a long time to manually set up (nearly 100 fields per page, of varying sizes and positions)...
I tried to duplicate the fields from one page to the others, which worked; but they are identical fields, meaning text input into one will likewise be seen in the other pages. I need the other pages to be unique, even though they look identical (field-wise they look identical, the background images for my form distinguish the actual contents of each field).
Copy/Paste is the same as duplicate.
I can just do that and then manually rename a few hundred fields; but at that point I am not much better off than manually placing the fields. Some, but not much.
Is there any way to do this?

I would look at using the template object within for this task.

Creating an multi-page, variable diptych package?

My goal is to be able to have a set of diptych/triptych templates that allow me to create and preview multiple layout configurations in a single custom package.
I started by creating 4 user templates, 600x447px diptych, 600x447 triptych, 447x600 diptych, and 447x600 triptych.I quickly realized these templates aren't good for much more than a single page preview. I can swap photos by dragging from the preview thumbnails, but I can't seem to copy the template onto multiple pages to test different photo combinations and placements and compare all in the same package. Additionally, there doesn't seem to be a way to easily bounce between templates- by clicking on a different template all my work is reset.
I thought I could avoid this issue, by creating another custom package at a specific size and create different layouts on each page. The only problem with that is, there also doesn't seem to be a way to duplicate a page, I would have to set up the individual cells for each new page, which is a bit awkward if I want to play around with many different photo combinations.
Is there a better way to do this, or am I stuck just creating one template at a time, exporting and then comparing all my variations as jpegs?

Sound overlay in multi-page pdf possible?

i didn’t find an answer for my following question in the forum yet, so here my question:
How can i put sound overlay in my multi-page presentation? I would like to get the music started when opening the pdf, playing still on when turning the pages in my document. At the moment i can place a audiofile at a page, but turning the page stops audio (logic...)
My workflow: Layout in Indesign CS4/5 (photos, videos, text) > export pdf > Acrobat > Multimedia, audio (to place a sound).

From my experimentation, "Disable when: 'Disable Content' is selected from the context menu" does not work when you turn the page. The music stops immediately when you turn the page if the sound is not visible.
However, choosing the property "Playback style: Play in Floating window" does work. Then make the floating window small. Like 5 pixels by 5 pixels.

Multi-Page Printing in Adobe AIR

I developed a commercial application for a client in Adobe
AIR about 3 months ago. Now my client wants to add a printing
feature. The problem is it requires multi-page printing based on
the number of rows in a SQLite table.
BUT I FOUND OUT TO MY AMAZEMENT that I'm limited to less than
3K vertical pixels (or about less than 3 or 4 pages of printout,
depending on the vertical size of the page in the set)!
I was really dumbfounded (AND EMBARRASSED WITH MY CLIENT) to
see this rather fundamental shortcoming in Adobe AIR. It is
supposed to revolutionize desktop application development, but
AIR's lack of such an important printing support as multi-page
printing is really very disappointing.
Most desktop applications require and are expected to provide
multi-page printing. I hope the members of the AIR development team
are listening to this well-justified criticism and will roll up
their sleeves and work on it!

DPS for iPad, linking pages to/from a multi-page file

Hi Everyone!
I've been building an InDesign CS6 file for an iPad presentation, it contains video files, Edge Animate files, and more basic text and photos; there's 16 pages total so far. It is horizontal format only.
Now, there's a new page with 10 links, each is a link to a multi-page PDF article. I don't want the user to leave Adobe Content Viewer to view these documents. One solution I have is to convert each page to a JPEG, use the overlay feature to pan the image up and down to read it. A mini navigation will be built to jump from page to page or return to the originating link page. The problem is the user has to tap the image first to enable panning, not a big issue, but is not intuitive.
Is there another way I can display these pages while staying in the Content Viewer, keeping the iPad horizontal, and offering a "return" button to jump back to the originating page?

Thanks Bob, everything is in one folio, I'm going to give that a try. I've seen that solution in a video before but the whole folio/article definition and relationship is shaky in my head.

Firefox cuts off the URL in your printout, if it's really long, and you also have on the same line (header or footer), the Date and Pages

To fix, do a custom setting, for the Header and Footer as follows:

Firefox leaves no room around the text in the Header and Footer at the edge. To fix:

CS6 Encore Multi-Page Button & Background Issues

I'm building a blu-ray project for a client using a multi-page motion menu.
The menu has a minute long video clip with audio looping behind it, and has four button options; Play movie, Languages, Bonus Material, and Scene Selection.
The Language, Bonus, and Scenes buttons each use a seperate page with highlighted text as buttons for aditional content. Each of these pages also has a light, brown background image which I've turned into a button as a workaround for them to be visible along with the buttons. No matter what I do, only the first page works properly.
I've tried turning each of the pages seperately into Page 1, (#1) Page 1, to make sure I have my settings correct, and they all work fine as long as they're the first page. However, every other page after page one, (#2), (#3), etc, turns the buttons into a highlighted block unless I remove the brown backgrounds. Is there another work around this? Is this a limitation of blu-ray; to only allow one page to work with a background image at a time, or is this a limitation of Encore?

The thing the client is doing is using separate backgrounds for each option, which are spread out across the screen.
I took a look at the Dark Knight Rises, the Indiana Jones blu-ray set, and those discs kinda show what this client is aiming for; a main menu with play movie, languages, bonus material, and scene options with individual sub menus with separate backgrounds for each option.
If you happen to have those disc available, give them a look. Is Encore capable of creating blu-ray menus that work similar to those?
I've been researching this multi-page thing for a week now, and there just isn't a lot of info out there past creating one page. It seems I can create as many pages as I want without a background and it works fine. It's when I add a background to each page is when things start to become problematic. Buttons that were once color highlighted text become ugly solid color blocks.
