Audio output seems lower than other sites

I created a couple videos and maxed my presenter's audio within the clip.  When played back, it forces the user to raise the volume of their speakers relative to the other sources they've listened to on YouTube, Pandora, etc.  Is there a way to benchmark the relative audio output other than through trial and error?

What version of Premiere Elements are you using and on what computer operating system is it running?
When you are in the editing workspace, do you open the Audio Meters to double check the volume of the sound?

  • Sound level out of audio output quite low

how to raise the volume of the output of my original Intel MBP ? its output is too quiet. I can swap out various different headphones, they are all just too low. My hearing is normal. Ive got the sound turned up all the way, and listening to music and movies its just annoyingly low.
Anybody know of a software up that can jack up the volume to "are you nuts" ?

adjusting via system prefs is no different then the menu bar. Try it - they move together in real time.
the problem isnt with "adjusting something". The default electrical signal just lacks the voltage.
With the Palm Treo for example, somebody wrote an app to actually change the hardware behavior.
On Macs this has been done many times, for example the applet "Fan Control".
I was hoping somebody has heard of an app that actually makes the sound louder than the (wimpy) "loudest" default setting that a Macbook Pro can deliver.
Many people have complained the speakers arent loud enough, and my gripe is with the audio line out (analog).
Once you become aware that people have actually written apps which tell the hardware to do something it normally doesnt do, you will become a BIG FAN of this type of thing.
On my Palm Treo - I loved this !!!!!! Where is the one for the Macbook Pro ?????

  • Audio outputting very low

I'm outputting to flv's and there is sound but very low. I converted three files the same exact way and only one came out the way it should have. The only difference I see is I used the real camera audio on the one that sounds like it should and wav files for the other two that came out low. The wav files are clean and at the same level as the original.
The thing that baffles me is that I exported all 3 to QT reference files and they all sound great.
I have converted to another format and still low. I have also created a new QT reference and still the same problem.
Anyone know why and how to fix this...why does it look and sound great in my QT reference but not outputting that way?

I'm just going to make a wild guess here.
Sometimes, if you have two audio tracks that are out of phase,
when you combine them, the result is very quiet or disappears.
If, for example, if the left and right channels are out of phase,
you will hear them OK in stereo, but if they are both panned center,
and there is a phase problem, you could be losing a lot of level.
If you just use one track and mute the other, is the problem still there?
Does the problem only happen when you're using both tracks?
That would be a phase problem.
In that case, you could try just use one track and pan it center.

I know on mackbooks I've seen firewire used as an input for a Weiss Dac if you're into two channel audio.  Do any reiceivers take firewire as an input for hometheater?  Has anyone tested Firewire outputs on their W series?  I'm told that firewire is sometimes preferable to USB, I'm not sure why this would be, can USB support passthrough of DTS encoded signals?
In the case that firewire works and you Do not have a firewire source, maybe something like this would be of value  It converts firewire to digital coaxial s/pdif and allows passthrough of DTS and AC3.

As I'm into audio the critical thing here (and what you're paying for when you purchase blue-ray, is maintaining the digital information from the disk in an unconverted form.  You want a direct bit pass through, and you want as little jitter introduced to the signal as possible.  You most certainly don't want the sound card getting in the way, Digtital to Analog converting and then reverse packaging it up and putting it out over the soundcard digital out.  My problem is I'm not familiar enough with computer audio to know how exactly the sounds is transmitted from your blue ray drive to the digital interface you've chosen.
Anyone know why USB digital out would not be a prefered method?

If you have Conexant sound card, then try to disable all enhancements. Open Windows Sound Control Panel -> Recording devices -> Properties -> Advanced.

  • HT202730 Macbook Pro Optical Audio Output Toggles On/Off

My Macbook Pro optical audio output seems to switch off with a loud click when sound is not playing for a few seconds.
Then, when sound resumes, there's a delay as it switches back on.
Is there a way to stop this toggling?
And please don't tell me to check the connections.
I've already tried different sample sizes and bit rates to no avail. It seems as if the system is switching something when there is no audio being played, then switching it on again. Even if the playback is only on pause.

How do I get the volume on my ipod classic to the same level for all songs?  Some songs are a lot lower than others.

Coverflow in iTunes is sorted by Album Artist whereas coverflow on the iPod classic is sorted by Artist. Unfortunately, there is no way to set this on your iPod. This is such a fumble on Apple's part that I'm beginning to think they're becoming another Microsloth with buggy firmware and products.

    IDT High Definition Audio CODEC v. 6.10.6395.0.  5/21/ 2012
Upon installation I have very low audio output!   Screen Shot    Screen Shot 2
        I have tried:
    un-installing and reinstalling the drivers.
Installed the original drivers via HP's website sp53222 for my particular model.  HP  Pavilion HPE  h8-1070t
Any suggestions? would be greatly appreciated.  It would appear IDT who I also emailed and they never responded is responsible for a codec pack that is not fully functional with this motherboard.
was wir lieben meistens nicht kriegen

Did you access the Catalyst Control Center in programs and look at the latest updates for your graphics card and make sure you didn't download the audio drivers they self install and are checked automatically each time you attempt an update for the card.
Did you right click on the speaker in the system tray and go into recodring devices make sure everything is setup propper there sometimes they too can change.
I'm familiar with cakewalk but never used it on Win7 its been many years since I played around with that. If you are using the onboard audio card and it has worked before and not now if I were in your situtation I would attempt to reisntall the dirvers via device manager they do sometimes become corrupt especially if you picked up any malware that was removed by your antivirus software due to the drivers and malware both reside inwindows\system32.
After the reisntall of the drivers if the issue is not resolved I would upgrade the audio card with a  PCIe x1 component such as:
Creative Labs SB1040 PCI Express Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio Sound Card
     http://www.amazon.com/Creative-Labs-SB1040-Express-Blaster/dp/B000W7PNZI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1357...
After I paid for a real soundcard with Recording: 24-bit/96kHz and Sound Output Mode - 7.1 and bypassed my onboard audiocard I never had any issues again. My onbaord worked too in the begining for certain things than stopped mysteryously and the reinstallation became ineffective after a while so I decided the money for the tower was invested mainly in the CPU i7 the RAM and HDD.
*** Note if you did install the audio drivers for the graphics card you will have to change the onboard audio in the BIOS from automattic to enabled. Otherwise you will have no sound at all. So never take the audio drivers for the graphics card unless you need them for DVR recording or something. The PCIe audio cards are never effected by this however only the onboard audio. Another reason onboard is a cheap way to go and HP bundles it as cheap as it can my friend.
    Good Luck again!

  • Audio Inserted In Multitrack Is 3db Lower Than Source

Why is it that when I insert an audio file into multitrack, it automatically plays 3db lower than the source file?
I can double-click on the clip in multitrack and it's full volume in edit view.
    JJ

This is the default multitrack Panning Law option, changeable under Preferences > Multitrack > Panning Mode.
Briefly, when a mono signal is sent to the left and right channels, the perceived volume will be higher when panned center than the source.  The dB reduction on the Master corrects this imbalance and prevents clipping in this scenario.  Changing the preference to "Left/Right Cut (Logarthimic)" should behave as you might expect, where the output level is the same as the source level, though you'll need to manually accomodate any clipping or issues that might occur.

  • Nokia 5235 low audio output

I purchased nokia 5235 two weeks back. The ringtone volume is very very low and most of the time I missed the calls due to it. Also audio output of songs is very low. Is this the problem with all nokia 5235 or probably with my handset. Kindly suggest the solution.

    Hello Freinds,
I am also facing the same problem with my nokia 5235 which was purchased by me one month back, ThIS is Not oNLY ABOUT RINGTONE VOLUME PROBLEM ITS TOTAL AUDIO PROBLEM MEANS WHEN I CONNECT THE HEADPHONE FOR MUSIC THE VOLUME IS VERY LOW AT HIGHEST LEVEL. I WAS VISIT NOKIA CARE FOR THIS PROBLEM, THEY SIMPLY FORMAT THE SOFTWARE AND REINSTALL IT AND SAY THEY CANT DO MORE THAN THIS. I AM ALSO USING NOKIA 5130 XMUSIC AND DIFFRENCE BETWEEN AUDIO QUALITY IS LIKE HELL AND HAVEN.I WAS PURCHAING THIS 5235 FOR UNLIMITED MUSIC AND I AM UNABLE TO USING THIS.
Now problem is when i inform the [email protected] they reply me :
This e-mail is in reference to the post service functionality of Nokia 5235. We understand your displeasure over the post service functionality and we sincerely regret the inconvenience caused.

  • Low audio output.

I just got my L355-S7825 and while watching any DVD with any player, the audio output is very low.  I have to crank it all the way up to hear anything and I lose a lot of dialogue.  My old P25 would blow me into the next room with the volume cranked.
    Playing mp3s isn't much better.
Any ideas?  Everything else checks out - seems like the audio driver maybe?
    Solved!

Thank you Jerry - actually, it was the power setting.  It came on Power Saver, so I bumped it up to Balanced.  World of difference!

  • Low audio output - Speakers advice

    Hi,
I am a proud owner of Lenovo A600. The only drawback seems to be the low audio output. Though the sound quality is fabulous, I cant hear a lot of videos on the internet them from a reasonable distance.
I m assuming that supplementing the audio with speakers is the solution. I have no idea of the type of speakers to buy. Researching on the internet makes me more and more bewildered of the choices, so I decided to ask in the lenovo forums as the people here might have a better idea.
    Here are my goals :
A reasonably portable speaker system that increases the sound output so I can hear it from a distance, in a big room. I have a few dumb questions :
    1) Is it possible to connect speakers that supplement the speakers of Lenovo?
    2) Is it possible to connect a 2.0 system but still use the built-in bass?
    3) Is a 2.1 system the minimum needed to maintain the same clarity?
    4) Is it a bad idea to consider USB speakers like Logitech Z-5?
Apparently, I have no idea about sound systems and this is my first exposure to these and I m thoroughly confused by a lot of terminology like bass, woofer, sub woofer, tweeter etc.. and dont really have the resources to cut thru the jargon. So guys, can anybody please help/advise?
    Thanks in advance.

    1. Most likey the audio out connection will sense the input of headphones/external speakers and it will turn off the internal speaker.  If the opposite was correct, using headphones to not disturb people around you would be useless.
    2.  Read above.
    3. Most decent external speakers will outperform any internal speakers.  Internals speakers are cheap and bought from the lowest bidder.  Right now you are using ta .1 system.  2 meaning the number of speakers and 1 meaning the subwoofer.
    4.  I cant give you info about USB speakers, but it might be possible to use both the USB speakers and the internal speakers together.  USB speakers will also allow you to use 5.1, or even 7.1 speakers systems.  More speakers the better.
Just remember to get amplified speakers.  The more watts the speakers can handle, the louder they will be.  Logitech is one company that I know have good quality speakers.  I am sure there are more.   i hope this helps.  Goodluck.
