Audio Playing before Waveforms? CS6

I'm not exactly sure how to search for this exact problem.
If you take a look at my screen capture, my audio is playing 4 frames before the waveforms start. Here is how I got to this point...
1) Recorded 2 system audio
2) Started a sequence for my interview with the RED R3D 1080p 16x9 23.976 preset
3) Synced Zoom h4n audio (recorded at 48Hz) with scratch track from Red Epic
4) Edited the interview down to just selects
5) Started a second sequence with the same preset to build my final output.
6) Copied and pasted interview selects into new timeline.
Once I copied and pasted synced footage from the first timeline into my new one everything was out of sync by 4 frames. Once I moved the audio 4 frames forward it was in sync again. However, now the waveforms don't match what is happening in the audio track. The audio starts 4 frames before the waveform actually begins. Does anyone have any idea what's going on?
System specs:
27" iMac
3.4 GHz Intel Core i7
32GB RAM
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680MX
OSX 10.8.4
Software Version:
Premiere Pro CS6 - 6.0.5

Did you ever find what your issue was with this or a fix for it? I know it was a while ago but maybe you remember? My waveform and audio don't match and it's so bizarre/frustrating!

  • Audio Playing before the lips are moving on iMovie

    I just finished making a movie on iMovie HD 6 and as I was watching it, I noticed that around 9 min. through the 15 min. long movie, the voices of the actors are coming before their lips are moving. This doesn't happen when I watch the clip individually, it only happens when I start watching the movie from at least 1 min. before the clip that has the problem. I don't know why it's doing this...would compressing it into a Quicktime video help???? Please help!! Thanks soo much!

    This often occurs if you have imported the audio as 12 bit/sec instead o 16 bit/sec. You set this on your camera.

    Thanks Gary, I think I should have mentioned that I have wired my other speakers and it works fine.
    I just wanted to go wireless when presenting in front of class, simply to avoid trailing wires from the macbook which I position in front of me on a desk next to the projector and the speakers are behind me next to the screen.
    I have struggled to find a solution, and reading through other discussions it is a problem that perhaps only Apple can solve.
    I hope the new 'Yosemite' will resolve the problem.
    Thank you once again for your reply.

  • 5.1 ac3 audio plays and exports as stereo in CS6

    I am using the trial version of Premiere Pro CS6 at the moment. I am trying to create a short video that uses an 5.1 ac3 file that I created. I know the file is 5.1 because it plays through all the speakers on my WD TV HD Live media player, as well as through VLC Player on my computer. When I import the audio into Premiere Pro CS6, it plays as stereo. The same is true for audio from the video I imported. The video (from a Panasonic TM700 camcorder) also has 5.1 surround, but plays in stereo.
    I went to Edit > Preferences > Audio and set the default audio tracks to 5.1. Under Audio Hardware, the only thing in the dropdown is Premiere Pro WDM Sound. I do not know what that is. My onboard sound card is Realtek High Definition Audio (on an Asus P9X79 Pro motherboard) and it works correctly as far as I can hear from all of my speakers.
    Under Audio Output Mapping, there are only two channels listed. Again, Premiere Pro WDM Sound is the only option, and only the left and right speakers are in the list under that.
    Does PrP CS6 not support my Realtek onboard sound? Why is it not listing all six channels?
    Thanks in advance!

    This has been an argument, discussed since at least PrPro 2.0.
    Going back to about that point (when Minnetonka Audio offered a discount for PrPro users), Minnetonka Audio basically opened up their books to me, when I inquired about volume licensing. I do not recall the exact prices, or even the discount, but the Dolby Labs' charge was most of the cost, and Minnetonka Audio only made about US $50 per SurCode plug-in.
    Now, with the Minnetonka Audio SurCode, one CAN use the DD logo, when certain criteria have been met. With most other 5.1 SS Encoders, they are NOT certified DD, so cannot legally display that logo. Sony, with their Vegas NLE's, seems to be an exception to that restriction. I am not sure what the legal issues are, but Sony does (or did) create DD 5.1 SS, with some of their programs. Perhaps some sort of "brother-in-law deal" with Dolby Labs?
    To some editors, having fully legal DD logos is not important to them, or to their clients. In those cases, there are a few other methods (though somewhat convoluted), to Export 5.1 SS AC3's, just not DD-certified.
    I used the DD 5.1 SS enough, that I bought a license for each computer, and felt that my $ was well-spent. As you, and others mention, paying the licensing fee to Dolby and Minnetonka Audio, if one never uses the SurCode plug-in alters the price-point of the program, and all users will be paying more, whether they derive any value, or not. To me, it has more than paid for itself.
    It would akin to Adobe including the full Red Giant Magic Bullet Looks suite in their program. Price would go up, and many users would never need that, or want it.
    If asked, my vote would be to keep things, as they are, and those who want/need the SurCode plug-in can buy it.

  • Theme audio plays for first few seconds of menu before dropped audio

    I created my first iDVD movie, and added a .wav file to the main menu. I also used a theme from iDVD4 (montage). When I preview the movie, however (and after burning, this is also on the final DVD), the theme audio plays very loudly for a few seconds while the main menu is booting up, before kicking over to the added audio. Is there any way to make this themed audio clip (which does not appear anywhere, all the audio wells have my added audio clip) disappear, so that I don't have to hear blindingly loud music for 5 second while the DVD boots up the main menu?

    Having an exceptionally annoying issue - the audio drops out after approx 2 seconds, the clip itself fine, pausing and continuing makes the audio play for an additional two seconds before dropping out. • Quicktime screen is white, but audio plays

    This is not a universal problem. All my videos that played before still play. I use QTPro v. 7.1.3 on both my G4 & my MacPro.
    I was handed an audio for video clean-up project, but the QT videos provided will not play - the screen is white, the timeline indicator moves, and the audio plays as it should. Through browsing, I have gleaned that I am missing the proper codec. How do I know which one? The video guy who handed me the project says that the videos were rendered by Apple Intermediate Codec. All I can find are upgrades for this, not initial installs. Is this even, in fact, what I am missing?
    Secondarily, once I figure out the codec mess, I will need to export a compressed version for import into ProTools. Any suggestions there?

    I have tried opening in iMovie. Same thing there. The AI codec version that is showing up as the blank paper icon in System Drive>Library>QuickTime is v1.1. The only other video components that accompany that one in that location are the 3rd party FlipForMac WMV components I installed seperately quite a while ago. It looks like all other video components are located in the other folder...
    ...In the other folder, (System Drive>System>Library>QuickTime), it seems that all kinds of video components are there, and their icons look like little grayish-black video screens. No AIC exists there though.
    I sure appreciate your help

  • How come when I view flash videos my videos stop, but the audio plays  and I see rainbow colored lines up and down the video.

    How come when I view flash videos my videos stop, but the audio plays  and I see rainbow colored lines up and down the video. I attached a image below.

    ATR, just to make sure you understand me, all my video clips in my folders appear as the first frame of the video clip when I view my folders as (small, medium, large)icons instead of lists, when saved as .avi files but when saved as .mp4 files, those icons display as a graphic icon of filmstrip with a musical note on it. I do have various other methods to open with (quick time, windows media, winamp or real player) but prefer real player because I like it's quick and easy trimmer that comes along with it, since so many of my videos are just pet antics where you need to clip off the boring beginning and ends of the video.
    I did go on a few of the icons and right clicked, Open With, and tried quick time and also Windows Media and it did nothing as far as how the file was saved for display, and they opened the same no matter which player I used...the actual video opens and plays right at it's first frame... but it's the way it is visually displayed in STORAGE that bugs me because it isn't immediately apparent to me what it is a video of (weddings, outside the house, pet antics)... it makes me have to actually title things and read titles where before I let it just be dates because I had the visual of that first frame as a reference. Obviously, this is a problem for unedited videos only, as anything I actually work with, I do give a title along with the date of the video.
    I also just realized this seems to be the way ALL videos that are wrapped in .mp4 are displayed, as my bloggie camera's videos appear the same way. Now I know why! My other videos display as .avi's so I see the frame. Puzzle solved. Guess I'll just have to learn to live with it, as it seems to be how things display with the various formats.
    Now I need to watch some tutorials to learn how this Premiere program works! It's all new to me, since this is the first time I've been able load any of my videos onto it. I haven't even been able to figure out how to trim on it yet!

  • Why does all of my Encore timeline audio play except for one section?

    I am authoring a bluray that contains 8 different (approx) 15 minute video files.  All of the audio plays except for one of the 15 minute files, which falls 7th in the sequence.  I am importing the sequence into Encore CS6 from Premiere CS6.  The audio plays fine in Premiere CS6, but when imported into Encore CS6, it is completely silent, only for that one 15 minute portion. All other audio in the sequence plays fine. I have tried re-importing the sequence under a different name, no success.  The video plays fine in Encore, just not the audio.
    Premiere CS6
    Encore CS6
    Windows 7

    Here's an odd note- I went through Premiere Elements 11 and turned all 8 clips into one big m2t file, whose audio played fine in Elements and Windows Media Player, and when I imported it into Encore, the audio failed in the exact same spot, even though Clip 7's Audio plays just fine when imported solo as an Asset into Encore.
    I have worked around this by importing everything as individual Assets/Timelines, but now I am for some reason not able to fit as much footage onto my disc.  This is all very aggravating and I am making it work for now but would like to figure out the root of this problem or determine if it is some unconquerable design flaw by Adobe.

  • How to make audio.play() wait

    Hi,
    I use audio.play() in a program that will randomly play the (wav) files in a directory.
    It all works works - except audio.play() doesn't wait for one song to finish before it goes on to the next.
    Should a spawn a thread with audio.play() in it?
    If so, is there a simple way?
    Or, is there another way to tell/force audio.play() to wait till the song is finished?
    Here is the portion of the code:
           //--- Shuffle by exchanging each element randomly
           for (int i=0; i<nFiles.length; i++) {
               int randomPosition = rgen.nextInt(nFiles.length);
               int temp = nFiles;
    nFiles[i] = nFiles[randomPosition];
    nFiles[randomPosition] = temp;
    //System.out.println(nFiles[randomPosition]);
    //System.out.println(path_chld[temp]);
    try {
    Uaudiofile = new URL("file:" + path_chld[temp]);
    audio = Applet.newAudioClip(Uaudiofile);
    //audio.wait();
    audio.play();
    Thread.sleep(2000);
    catch (Exception e) {
    //WriteError WEbadcommand=new WriteError("playrand failed trying to get the song file URL");
    System.out.println("playrand Error creating URL, see log for more detail: " + e);

    Hope this helps.No, it does not really help the bigger scheme of things to have such poor strategies listed as a solution.
    You have already been given a pointer to the API that would enable this ability in a sand-boxed applet. Even better than waiting a defined time for the sound to end, the Java Sound API offers listeners that will be informed when a sound has finished playing.

  • Crash if I hit "Play" before save is complete

    Does anyone experience this behavior?
    If I save a project, but jump the gun and hit "play" before the project is completely saved, Logic will hang and require a force quit. I'm running 9.1.1 in 32bit mode. Any feedback appreciated.

    Doctor "So don't move your arm like that..."
    I don't think it's an unrealistic thing to expect to happen. After all, a file is being written to your hard drive, which is calling on the program and the OS to interact. And while it's doing that, your telling it to go read some audio files from this part of the drive, and perhaps play these CPU intensive software instruments.
    Just don't do it. Hit save, take a sip of coffee... hit play. That's my mantra...

  • Prevent android app audio playing when minimised

    My android app has some looping background audio. When I minimise the app by selecting the "home" button on my Nexus 7 - the app disappears but I can still hear the audio playing. I assume the app must be still active in the background. The same app on the iPad doesn't exhibit this behaviour so I guess something different in how Android deals with apps that are not in the foreground.
    Would appreciate advice on best way to prevent this audio playing. Ideally I don't want to completely shut down the app when minimised.
    All advice much appreciated
    My app was compiled with Flash CS6 and Air 3.5.

    I listen for Event.DEACTIVATE

    When the app is minimized and that event fires, I just stop or mute the audio the same way i normally would

  • Audio ends before the video - PPro CS4

    I am using PPro CS4 on windows 7 Home Premium 64bits (i7 - 6Gb - NVIDIA Quadro FX 580 - SATA hd's ...).
    AVCHD Video format were recorded with a Panasonic TM700 (audio is 5.1) and downloaded to the HD using Panasonic HD Writer software.
    I am able to play the video along the audio of each clip using the Windows Media Player, for instance.
    But when I import the clip to PPro CS4, "most of the time" the audio ends well before the video for each clip. The audio lenght will vary from 1/3rd to 2/3rd of the total lenght of the clip. And sometimes it plays all the way. I just can't figure out what is happening. At first I thought I should give more time for the audio to be processed even after the encoding bar (lower left of the PPro screen) had finished, but it didn't help.
    Anybody?

    Thank you Hunt for your fast reply.
    Unfortunately I won't be able to answer most of your question due to lack of knowledge.
    Files are as they were recorded, AVCH and 5.1 audio downloaded directly from the SD card and camera memory (Panasonic TM700). No convertion made.
    No file size limitation whatsoever.
    I do give plenty of time for the files to conform - at first I thought it could be the problem (in my GUI is a yellow bar on lower right)
    When I play the files on Media Player, the audio plays without any problem for the whole lenght of the video. So I assume the file is not corrupted.
    Any clue about this issue?  Tks again

  • Add background audio playing in v.26?

    I think it'll be great if the new folio version could support background audio playing. Since many publications integrate audio in the book, some books are even purely audio books with texts, if the user could turn off the screen while listen to the text, that'll be really cool. So I am suggesting add this function in the update of the folio version. What do you guys think?

    This is one of the most incomprensibile things that happen in DPS.
    This is not a Bug because if it was bug would mean that this options doesn't work properly.
    In this case this options dosen't work at all.
    This options was released in version 23 and now we are at version 25...
    No one at the developer team test it before delivering?
    Is it really possible?
    I can't belive.
    I work every day with DPS, and I was one of the first in Italy, I love this solution but sometimes is very difficult to justify.
    Tomorrow I have to register some video-tutorial on new features in DPS... what should I say?
