Audio problem-posted again

I have a MacBook Pro running OS 10.5.6, dual core intel chip, 4 G ram. We are working with AVCHD footage from a Panasonic AG-HMC150. We Log and Capture with ProRes material shot in 1080i.
It edits fine, but when I use the L key to search faster than sound speed I cannot understand the audio. It goes too fast to be intelligible. I use the faster than real time a lot to go through footage faster. I have tried shifting the program to Firewire 800 drives to see if the drive speed could affect it. No improvement. We have another Mac here that is a MacPro 2.8 GigHZ Dual Quad Core Xeon with 8 gigs of ram and it can search the audio faster and you can understand it.
What is the problem. Does it just not work on a laptop with 4 Gig.
Thanks.

My experience with HD content is that...even with audio playback quality adjusted in User Prefs, you would still experience the skitchy unintellibable audio playback.
BTW, I don't think your 'L' key is FF'ing as much as you think, it just sounds that way because FCP is struggling to provide RT playback. The step up in speed is the same as always.
FWIW, the closest I've ever been to getting intellibable audio playback with HD content, is to lower ALL of your RT settings to the lowest possible. It gets slightly better, but not intellibable enough to make it worth it.

  • Audio problems with Rezound, post software update

    Hi All,
I had my Rezound for about a month before the firmware upgrade and never experienced any issues with audio playback through my headphones.  However, since my phone was updated I'm getting consistent audio glitches.  There are two types that I've noticed.  The first is a high pitched whine that last for 2-10 seconds before fading out; this has happened consistently since the update.  The second is a wave of static that's gets louder and messier until I pull out my headphones and I noticed this yesterday for the first time.  I thought the firmware update was in part going to fix the Rezound's audio problem.
Has anyone else had these audio issues since the firmware update?
Is this currently a fixable problem?
    Thanks!

I also had no problems whatsoever prior to the update, including no audio issues. I have also recently noticed audio problems post update.  These problems seem to be very intermittent and I haven't been able to connect their appearance to anything specific.  I have noticed 2 problems, the wave of static problem and also a loud "click" that is very noticeable but kind of in the background.  I'm ready to pursue other avenues of resolution for all the problems with this phone which I originally loved!!  Verizon's answer is "you're stuck with it" or "we're working on it" or "we will send you a used phone" (so I can enjoy experiencing the same problems on a phone from who knows where with who knows what history after paying $300 dollars just 2 months ago)!!  I am so tired of having to deal with the boot-looping problem!!!  Why is it acceptable to sell or create a defective pricey electronic device with complete impunity?  This would not be acceptable and would result in immediate and consequential retaliation in my career!  Any one want to discuss what we might be able to do?

  • IMovie HD - Urgent Audio Problem!

I've been working on a video for my Chinese final and iMovie HD 5.0.2 has been working until now. No matter what I do, all of the audio is skipping. The audio I'm using is either embedded audio imported from my HD Video Camera, a music file, or a sound effect clip. The music and sounds are all .mp3.
The sound gradually started getting worse and now nothing I'm doing is making a difference. I can't find an update that will fix my problem. I've already ordered iLife 09 so I can use the newest version of iMovie, but I need this to work right now. This project is due tomorrow and it would have been done if not for the audio problems. Again, I have iMovie HD 5.0.2
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you again for your help.  I didn't realize I was so far behind on the iMovie series.  I downloaded the newest one and it worked great as far as importing the video without bars.  The video was from a Sony widescreen SD video camera and I used MPEG Streamclip to confirm the video was true 16:9 but for some reason iMovie HD just squished it to the right.  Anyway, I noticed on the new iMovie it only has the option for 4:3 or 16:9 aspect ratio.  So is it not as good as iMovie HD even thought it's newer?  Oh well, guess I'll cross that bridge when I get an HD camcorder.

  • Sluggish Performance & Audio Problems in Lenovo T520

I have experienced strange problems with my Lenovo T520 (specifications: i7, 6GB RAM, I can post detailed configuration). The problems are:
The audio quality is noisy. What I find strange is the audio quality for the same song worsens when play in VLC media player (more noise) v/s when played in Windows Media Player
The performance is sluggish and the system freezes when moved. What I mean is if I am watching a movie and lift the laptop from one place to another. The movie freezes while moving & audio stops. Once stable again the video and audio synch up again
Trackpad unresponsive: The trackpad get unresponsive at times, but the Trackpoint is working fine.
Could you post a solution to any of the problems?

    For the sluggishness....
    (1)  Make sure the power cord is plugged in.  I know...sounds dumb, but I had the same problem with my new T520 and I saw a thread on here stating that Lenovo thought it would be a great idea to make your new T-Series laptop run slow when on battery.
    (2)  Closely inspect the "Power Manager" profile you're using.  I noticed that even the "Maximum Performance" (or whatever it's called) profile was set to NOT best use the CPU.  In Power Manager, click "Advanced" at the top to go from "Basic mode" to "Advanced mode", then click the profile you want to use from the vertical list on the far left.  Then on the right side, expand the first drop-down category called "Performance" or something like that.  Now there will be two columns under that category...battery on the left and AC power on the right.  On the AC power column set the drop-down box to the "Maximum Turbo" setting.

  • How do I get my audio to work again on my iPad?

How do I get my audio to work again when I play video links on my iPad 2?  Think the problem might have started when I did the update to IOS 7.1.  I click on a video link when I'm in an app like Facebook.  The video plays, but no audio.  I used to be able to open the link in Safari and the be able to hear the audio.  But now that doesn't work either.  Apple support helped with a similar problem in10/3013.  They made me back up my iPad to ITunes through my laptop and think they wiped my iPad and re-loaded the software.  Is there any other fix?

I just saw an answer that "Demo" posted 9/30/2012.  Said to re-boot the iPad system by holding Down to the sleep and home buttons at the same time until the apple logo screen popped up.  It worked.  I I've got audio again on my video links!

  • HOW TO FIX NO AUDIO PROBLEM IN FLASH (4 SOLUTIONS)

This solution is for WINDOWS ONLY!!! Unfortunately I believe
it is a bug in flash itself as I have read more than one instance
of this same no audio problem occuring on MAC'S and LINUX based
systems as well. IF YOU KNOW OF SOLUTIONS TO THE MAC OR LINUX BASED
PROBLEMS, PLEASE POST THEM IN THIS THREAD.
Description of the problem: Video sites such as YouTube,
VideoSift, Break, Google Videos, Yahoo, and a plethora of others do
not stream embedded audio. Viewing a YouTube video, for example, on
VideoSift.com results in the video playing back with no audio.
However, by going directly to YouTube and playing back the same
    video, it appears to work.
    THERE ARE SEVERAL POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS.
Problem: You may be missing your WAVEMAPPER driver.
Cause: Wavemapper driver was removed during installation or
updating of the Flash Player. It might not necessarily be Flash
that removes it but apparently something does.
Solution #1: Google "Flash No Audio WAVEMAPPER" for
directions, its been covered a bunch, but basically requires
running REGEDIT and readding the WAVEMAPPER key to the appropriate
location and value in the registry. Its not as difficult as it
    sounds.
    http://weyland.be/wrdprss/index.php/2006/08/22/no-sound-in-macromedia-flash-player-9/
if your wavemapper key is installed correctly...
Possible Cause: Corrupted or damaged flash content preventing
    audio streaming from working correctly.
Soltuion #2: Run CC Cleaner and delete only cached Flash
content. It is a free program, again just google "download CC
Cleaner". This particular solution worked for me.
If CC Cleaner also does not work, the description of your
problem may differ slightly. In my case on several computers, one
day it worked, the next day it didnt. If it never worked, this
would be a logical solution for you. One variation of this that I
have found is to create a new Windows User Account and log into it.
The reason the CC Cleaner method may work better is that the User
Accounts have their own separate cache folders so a corrupted cache
preventing audio playback on one profile will not be available on
the other User Account to cause the same problem. I wont explain
how to do this as the CC Cleaner will work better but if you are
curious, yet again google "create new windows user accounts". I
have also seen this method work on one of my affected computers but
it did not fix the issue on the account I was having problems with.
    http://www.ccleaner.com Install
and run it, use it only to remove Flash under the Applications Tab,
Multimedia, Adobe Flash Player. Check it and uncheck everything
else, then hit Analyze then Run Cleaner.
    Possible Cause: Missing Codec
Solution #2: Download and install the K-Lite Codec pack.
Again, google it. A CODEC stands for COmpressor DECompressor and is
a way to make audio and video files small enough to be transferred
on the internet. There are a lot of different codecs and if you
want to play back a video that was compressed using a particular
codec, you will need that same corresponding codec to decompress
your media source and view its content. Basically if you dont have
a codec, you cant observe the content of the media. If you have a
VCR and want to play back a DVD, you are out of luck unless you get
a DVD Player. DivX and XVid Codecs are some of the very popular
codecs used on the net, but to get those, I still suggest getting
    the K-Lite Codec Pack.
    http://www.free-codecs.com/download/K_Lite_Codec_Pack.htm
Solution #4: Go back to Flash 7. If it aint broke dont fix
it. This Final alternative is only to be used as a last resort.
You'll have to get rid of Flash 9 and go back to Flash 7. The
really tricky part here is that you have to prevent Flash from auto
updating itself. If you install Flash 7, and hit up YouTube, you'll
immediately get Flash 9+ installed again with the same problems. So
AFTER you uninstall Flash 9 (use Macromedias / Adobes uninstaller,
yet again go google it) make a new text file and name it MMS.CFG,
in the file put this one line "AutoUpdateDisable=1" (without the
quotes) and put it in BOTH your c:\windows\system32 AND
c:\windows\system32\Macromed\Flash folders. This will prevent flash
from Auto Updating to 9+, then have to find some place to download
the old flash 7 installer. I found one here.
    http://www.intercomm.com/downloads/Flash7.
Only problem is that most sites will try to make you install Flash
9 and Flash 7 does not work on all sites, but it does on some like
YouTube. DO NOT UPDATE TO FLASH 9+ IF YOU USE THIS METHOD.
You will probably want to IMMEDIATELY go to
    http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/settings_manager05.htm l
after installing Flash 7 and UNCHECK the update feature
I've tried to write this quick little guide at 3AM so Im not
going to take more time to research other ways to fix this problem.
If you have other solutions, such as for MAC and LINUX, or feel
like adding on to something else that I've written here (links
would be useful to the downloads I suggested) or correcting any
mistakes I probably have made, please say so.
One of these solutions is bound to help you. Theres multiple
causes for this no audio problem so there is obviously multiple
    fixes.

  • Complaint regarding the Audio problem in handset

    Dear Sir / Madam
I am having BlackBerry 8520 Curve and purchased it on May'10. After buying this BB handset I am facing the problem in audio and not able to listen the voice clearly. I had submitted my handset for 4th time at Redington India Limited Ahmedabad for the same issue, but the problem is yet not rectified.
I have submitted my handset again at Redington on 26th July 2012 and they have given me the estimate of Rs. 4200 to change the housing of the handset. Before that I have given my handset at Redington for the same audio problem on 14th Mar 2012, 16th Jan 2011 & also give while the handset was in warranty period, but the problem is still same.
Now my question is that, I have give mobile 4 times for same issue and still I am facing same problem than why should I pay for housing, as it is manufacturing fault of handset. Still my mobile is at Redington and I want the permanent resolution for the audio problem, and if you are not able to solve the problem than please keep the handset with you, as I don't want the defective handset.
I have purchased the Blackberry as it is the brand name and for the service but I am really disappointed by such kind of worst service.

Further, RIM provides zero front line support to end users, including warranty...all support starts with the carriers, authorized resellers, and authorized service centers, all who can escalate cases into RIM at no charge to the end user.

  • Strange audio problem playback

I have what's probably an easy problem but can't find an
answer anywhere here. When using "Play" or using the return key to
preview my project in Flash 8 on OS X, I can't stop the audio. The
audio is an MP3 voice over.
Pressing "Stop" or using the return key again stops the
playhead, but the audio continues no matter what I do. I can go
back to the beginning and play it again, and now I'll have two VOs
going on at once. The only way I can get the audio to stop is by
    closing out the project.
This is making timing my animation to match what the VO is
    saying very difficult. Any ideas?

I am having the same problem, but only after reinstalling XP
and all my software on a new hard drive. My previous hard drive
hadn't had a fresh install of XP in three years and was giving me
intermittent problems. However my swf's work properly on the old
drive but not the new one. I'm guessing it's one of my updates of
Firefox, flash player (was using 9,0,28,0 but now am 9,0,45,0). My
scenario is complicated because I'm using Flash Media Server, but
again it works on one drive and not the other. The odd thing for me
is that if I create my swf on the new drive with 9,0,45,0 and then
play it back when I boot from the old drive, it still has the same
double audio problem that plays similar to you. My play/pause
button has no effect and the audio just keeps going. If I do pause
the audio and wait for my audio to finish and then hit play again,
my scrubber bar moves but nothing plays until it gets to the end
and starts over. I was also getting double audio at times as well.
Could this be the new player??? Have you figured anything out since
you posted last? I'm using XP, flash 8, Firefox 2.0.0.4.

  • Premier Elements 8 Audio Problem

I just got a new Dell laptop last week that came with the Adobe Photoshop Elements 8 and Premier Elements 8 bundle pre-installed.   I’ve never worked with Premier Elements before and thought I’d try my luck with it yesterday. I edited several movie clips that were taken with my Sony camera in MP4 format, joined the clips into one movie with transitions between them, and rendered the finished product in .mpg format.
The video plays fine in all programs, but the audio is a different story.  It is silent in Windows Media Player and Real Player, yet plays well in Windows Media Center and Windows Movie Maker.  It also plays on my Dell PC in Windows Media Player (the same program that silences it on my Dell laptop).
I'm a senior citizen and have worked a little bit with Windows Movie Maker but that is all - nothing more intricate than that program.  I’d like to burn my new movie file to DVD but would first like to know what is causing the audio problem.  I'm hoping it's something simple and that this aged brain can understand the "fix".   Any suggestions?
Thank you for any help you can offer me.
    Anne

Hello Hunt, and thank you for helping me.
Yes, you have described the problem correctly.  In PrElements, all was
well with video and audio - and still is OK in two of the  video players I have
on this new laptop.   However, there  is no audio in the other two programs
    - but only on  this Dell laptop in Windows Media Player.  There IS audio in
Windows Media Player on my Dell PC.  That's what really confuses me.
Yes, the original file from the camera was mp4 and was exported as mpg
(MPEG).  I don't remember the settings I used; I think the only thing I
changed was a quality setting.  Is there a way of going back and looking at  the
original settings to jot down what they were?
I think that the free version of Real Player has improved over the  years
and has a few more "goodies" now than it did in previous editions.   For one,
I was able to capture an internet video in its entirety last year, and
very easily.  I wanted this video (a show trailer) for a slideshow I  was
creating and couldn't figure out how to get it with any other  application.
That's the main reason I installed Real Player last  week on this new laptop  -
"just in case" I want to do this  again.
I will take your advice and look into the two free players...
And, in response to your second post, WMM has given me a good start but,
unless I'm missing something, it does not have the capability of burning a
DVD.  I will check out the resources link and the Training  Series that you
describe, and thank you so much for your help!
    Cordially,
    Anne

    Anne,
    Welcome to the forum.
Just to make  sure that I am following you, I will restate what I think you
are  experiencing, and then please correct me. Along the way will be a few
    questions too.
You have created a Project in PrElements, and have  Imported Video (with
Audio) into the PrE Project. The files from your Sony are  in MP4 format.
In PrE you have your Audio,  correct?
You have then Exported/Shared that Project to an AV file  as an MPEG. Do
you recall the settings chosen for that MPEG?
That  Exported/Shared file plays with Audio in some players, but in others
it only  plays the Video, but not the Audio. Is that correct?
Knowing the  settings used to create that MPEG file might explain why some
player software  does a good job, where other players have an issue.
This is an  aside comment - I find that WMP, especially the later versions,
is not a good  choice for a player. It seems that MicroSooft has done as
much as possible to  strip it of most capabilities. Instead, I recommend two
    free players,
    http://gofree.com/download/Video/Media-Players/vlcmediaplayer.php?gclid=CLW6soS44KkCFQoBbA odO3L2Xg  and
http://mpc-hc.sourceforge.net/. Both are excellent, and will play files,  that some other players struggle
with. Again, both are free. Because all  players are not created equal, I
just go with what works. If you were  distributing these files to a client,
that was locked into WMP, especially the  newer versions, then addressing the
issue would be worth the detective work.  If that was the case, then I
would explore Exporting/Sharing to WMV format,  rather than the MPEG.
I have not used RealPlayer in about a  decade. I found it to be nearly
useless then, and rather ill-behaved. I will  not let it near my computers,
though it has possibly been improved over the  years. If you have any RealMedia,
MediaPlayer Classic HC, can be modified with  a free plug-in, to allow
that. If you do not have RealMedia files (usually  designated by .RM), then I
would not worry about taht. Only install what you  need, when you need it. I
would just ignore RealPlayer, since it is  installed.
Good luck, and hope that this was helpful. Let us know  a bit more about
    the MPEG settings,  please.

  • MXF export with audio problems

    Hi!
At the brodcast station that I work we recently upgrade to premiere CC. Our workflow are almost XDCAM files (MXF) and whe an edition is finished we export to MXF to play out or copy to XDCAM disc.
Recently I have a multi camera project and everything works perfect but when I export to an MXF file the sound as a "blank frame" in sound. The concert as an hour and twenty minutes and at the fisrt second
theres is that little "cut" in sound that doesn't exist in timeline.
I tryed various ways to export and everytime I got this frame in the same place. I also export timelines with 2 minutes from other projects, more simple, and always I got a "blank frame" somewhere in audio.
Tryed to export with 2 channels, 8 channels, stereo timeline multichannel timeline and everything result in a MXF in this audio issue.
Anyone already detect this exporting to MXFs, any sugestion to resolve this problem?

Thank you norok65 for replying this post.
I searched for some post with my problem and I didn't find so I post this one. I'm "glad" that I'm not the only one having this Kind of problem.
Like you said the problem cames with some updates. We used Premiere CS5 and no problem with MXF. We tryed the CS6 to possible update and
at the begining no problem but after some updates this problem appears and we abandoned the CS6 and we tested the CC. No problem with CC
and we did the migration. So, CC export MXFs with no problem but after some updates the audio problems came up again.
I think the problem is the updates and Adobe must fix this.
Jim, I already did some tests and exported only audio to WAV and no problem. Other formats like quictime no problem too.
This kind of problem only appears with MXF.
Like I said our workflow are almost everything in MXF (XDCAM) and we wish this issue can be solved.

  • Audio problems frustrating newbie!

As a newbie to Apple products I find myself frustrated with audio problems on my new iMac. In the project browser the video is fine, audio in sync, no video hesitation, but when I view the finished product in full screen mode I get audio out of sync, periods of no audio at all and freezing frames. I burned the project onto a dvd and again, although the project is perfect the dvd download is the same as the full screen preview, scenes freeze, and hesitates and there are lengthy periods of no sound. I've rechecked all aspects of voice overs, music etc, nothing seems out of whack and the movie runs perfectly in project mode. Any ideas? I've read on other forums that this is a problem with imovie11. This is not a happy introduction to Apple!

All I can say is this is by no means a bug free product. But the price is right. I've used imovie for a couple of years. When stuff happens, you can definitely post on this site because the help is very good. But at the end of the day, you have to burn cycles, step back and really analyze what the heck happened and could have cause this issue.
Video can be ******* complicated. The more complicated it gets, the more you should bite the bullet and hit the learning curve and get yourself a copy of final cut. It's a steep learning curve, but it's a serious app. I have no idea what's going on with your problem. Hope you solved it..?
    Anyhow, good luck.
BTW, Mac's are not perfect, but light years more enjoyable the Winblows and bloated operating systems of that variant. Don't throw it out the window yet.

  • Audio problem - This is UNBELIEVABLE!!!

Almost exactly a year ago I spent $3000 on a PowerBook G4 17. Today I spent about the same amount on a MacBook Pro.
A month after I bought the PB17 the hard drive failed completelly. I looked at the forums and voila!!! a bunch of people had the same problem. Deffective hard drives all over the place.
Today I powerup my brand new MBP, spend close to four hours transfering everything from music to work-related files and guess what... the f*ing computer has a heart beat!!! Every two seconds or so, "toc-toc". Something must be interfeering with something in there that is causing the soud to interrupt twice in less than a second every two seconds.
I feel like strangling Apple for doing this to me.
Last year I spent nearly two weeks "selling" the idea of getting an apple computer to my bosses and I looked like an as*hole after it broke down. This year it'll be the same. And the worse part is that I'm gonna call apple tomorrow and they are gonna tell me that I have to ship the computer or take it to the store where it'll have to stay for who knows how long. Well guess what???? I had to borrow a car to drive an hour away from here to get to the store and I did it today because I am TRAVELING TO TORONTO TO WORK ON MATERIAL THAT REQUIRES I HAVE A RELIABLE COMPUTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    THIS IS SIMPLY UNACCEPTABLE!!!
I love these computers, the os and everything apple. I do nothing but promote apple products and get really exited about it and this is how you repay me???? after I spend over $6000 in about a year on laptops and who knows how much in iTunes!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well... if you haven't gotten an apple computer yet or if you are thinking of buyin one, my advice to you is that you go to a store and making them open it, puwer it on and test it for as long as you can wait. Just sit there and use it... make sure nothing is wrong efore you go. Forget getting it over the web b/c if anything goes wrong you can count on being without a computer for a month... easily.
This *****. Twice in a row!!! TWICE!!!
CUSTOMER SUPPORT: You know my email address, you know how to contact me. I expect you to contact me and get this resolved. You have wasted enough of my time already. And do not insult me by calling me and pretending to walk me through restarting the computer like last year. Get someone with some authority to call me.
    Your very disapointed customer,

    MacBook Pro   Mac OS X (10.4.6)   2.0 Ghtz - 2 GB of RAM - F*ed up audio
    PowerBook G4

    Hello All,
It is sad that my first post on these boards has to be one that voices my discontent with Apple products. I have been with Apple from the moment I was able to type.
That said, like many others on this forum I have been through recent experiences that have tested my faith in Apple products and have caused frustration and anger in many of the mac faithful who have purchased MBPs.
For starters, the MBP I am writing this on has the full host of issues plaguing the rev.1 machines: Whining (doing it now), Mooing, overheating, WiFi dropping. Just to top off the list I also have a bright red pixel in the top left of my screen that just wont budge, shows up real nice on the black background of Lightroom while I work on editing my photos.
This is the second MBP I have in my hands, the first being a replacement for my previous computer, a PB G4 15" which went through numerous major repairs. The first one I received after a process much akin with pulling teeth, was a condition unfit for even wintel laptops. Shift key didn't work, whole keyboard was angled about a degree and a half, terrible fit and finish.
As iGomez has been an evangelist, so have I and both of us and many others are finding that we are getting burned. Our recommendations (I do hardware and software purchasing for my office) are coming back to haunt us. Anyway, it should be pretty obvious that I am quite disillusioned.
So what do I do now? I have opened cases with Apple care and my local retail store, but have waited on returning the machine as I have spent the last several months dealing with the employees there as well as the whole management staff. Anyone who uses their laptop for a living knows that the efficiency of the return process is far too slow to be tolerated, especially not time and time again.
A bit of advice for anyone going through this, DO not let them tell you the problem exists or it is "within spec" continue up the line until you get the answer you deserve and the respect that is due to all of us loyal customers. Remember that without our support they could not have come this far. Many times you will be told that the problem is characteristic or common or whatever and you need not worry about it as it wont hurt the operation of the unit, that just is not true, the operation of the computer is compromised by these flaws as they detract from the user experience that apple is so quick to tout, and that is just the audible problems, the HD clicking and overheating are another story.
Oh another thing (yes I realize I am ranting) just some food for thought when dealing with unresponsive geniuses. The reason we demand the tolerances, or at least the reason I do is because Apple has brought us in as customers who expect more from our computers (otherwise we would be on windows) in terms of quality, service and a host of other reasons, so do not for one instant let them tell you certain noises and operational flaws are acceptable, they have never been before so why now? Is it because they are rolling in cash and don't mind if a few people slip through the cracks within their newfound corporate bureaucracy? i personally won't take it, and neither should any other mac user. The reason apple has made excellent products in the past is because we demand the very highest level of equipment as did Steve Jobs, I feel it is a service to the company to let them know they are slipping before they alienate their user base.
I am finally done writing, it is now time to head to the Apple store and get this taken care of.
I will post again to let you know how things went.

  • SkypeMACMate for USB phone Audio problems

    Hi,
Not sure where to post this.
A friend of mine has a Voip cordless phone (Senda SE-W1D) he no longer uses with Windows driver. I'm interesting in buying it off him if I can get it to work. i downloaded SkyeMACMate and managed to get the phone connected to Skype. I could see me contacts, dial numbers etc. on the phone, only that I couldn't hear anything. I turned on the USB device option in Skye, but still nothing. Then I turned on the USB device in the system preferences and managed to hear the dialing tone it makes as it dials the number, but as soon as it finished dialing everything went silent again..
has anyone any ideas what it could be?
And surely there must be a way of using the phone without turning off the inbuilt speakers of the iMac
    Cheers
    Manuel

I found the answer on Skype form. Apparently there is an audio problem with the latest version of Skype. I downloaded the previous version (2.5.0.85) and it now works fine.

  • Audio problems with Adobe Presenter

    Hi
I recently had Adobe presenter installed on my windows XP machine.  Adobe presenter is set up to run through powerpoint 2003.
I recorded all of the audio as mp3 files straight onto my machine (although there were a few issues such as intermittent sound).  When I have accessed the quiz manager section to record some audio there, it crashed my machine and removed all of the audio from the whole presentation (luckily I had the audio files saved somewhere else!!).  I then went back into the presentation and tried re-importing all of the audio back in.  again, when I accessed the quiz manager the same thing happened again....
Has anyone else experienced the same problems?  I have spoken to Adobe and they said that it is down to the compatibiliy of Adobe Presenter/powerpoint and that I should find a workaround so was wondering if any one had any hints..
    Thanks
    Jessica

This is a weird one. If you created a prezo with audio and published it to AC (Adobe Connect) and everything worked fine on your desktop then it should work fine in AC i.e. there are no other settings required on AC's side, it should just play.
As I am typing this I thought of similar audio problems that we have experienced in the past. A big one would be where another user created a PPT on their laptops and handed it to us. When testing the audio did not work. Reason being is that not all the files were coppied over BUT I must accept that this is not your problem as it definately worked on your PC before you published it to AC.
Wait there is one setting in the publish settings. In the output options tick "Upload source presentation with assests", then tick audio.
I cannot think of anything else. There is a man called Heyward Drummond on the Adobe Connect General forum, who is a real master at answering queries like this. Why not post your query there and see if he comes up with an answer?
