Audio problems in video imported fro iphone4

I imported some videos made on iphone on a windows XP - without using itunes.
Now the videos present audio problems in avidemux.
If I convert them using Handbrake in several formats (e.g. avi), I can't manage to make them readable by Windows MovieMaker

Is there a way to extract the audio so I can clean it up using Sound Soap
iMovie 06 has some good filters for that.
I also use Final Cut Express, so maybe it would be better to just export it to FCE and then extract the video from there?
Final Cut Express (or iMovie 06) will give you better quality but it won't solve the buzzing noise. I also suspect a grounding problem.

  • Reducing audio distortion on video imported into iMovie.

Hello, I am trying to clean up the audio on some videos that I imported from a friends cell phone. The video was taken at a concert up close. It seems that the cell phone's speakers were overwhelmed by the
volume at the concert and the audio on the video is quite distorted to say the least.
Is there anyway that the audio can be enhanced/cleaned up using the audio adjustments in the clip portion of iMovie, or I am I just doomed to have great video and hideous audio quality??? I have tried playing around with the audio adjustments on each clip, but I am new to iMovie and what I have been trying has not seemed to work to well.
I would appreciate any advice anyone may have on this matter.
          Thank you!!!

iMovie 11 is well worth the cost. Get it for $14.99 in the new App Store.
In iMovie 11, you need to get a free app called MPEG Streamclip. You need to have it anyway. It is like a Swiss Army Knife for people who make videos. Right-click on the clip in iMovie. Select Reveal in Finder. Drag this clip to MPEG Streamclip. Move the playhead to the frame you want, and click FILE/EXPORT FRAME. Pick Jpeg, TIFF, or PNG and you are done.
In iMovie 08, the above procedure works fine as well. However, there is another way, which I have documented [here|http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2255510]

  • Audio sync problem with videos imported from iPod Touch

I have an iPod Touch 4th Generation that I used to shoot video at a family birthday party. When I imported the footage into iMovie '11, the audio is not in sync with the video (video is about two seconds behind audio) and there is only the left channel of audio. I verified that the video on the iPod plays just fine--no audio sync problem, both left and right channels work. I just upgraded to iOS 5 on the iPod Touch. The iMac is running Snow Leopard 10.6.8.
As a workaround, I can import the video into iPhoto instead. When I play the video in iPhoto, there are no audio sync problems and both channels of audio can be heard. I have imported other iPod Touch videos successfully into iMovie '11 in the past few months, but this has been the first time these problems have occurred. Any help would be appreciated.

Premiere cannot handle clips with variable framerate.
Your converted clips need to have constant framerate.
Otherwise use a converter like Handbrake.

  • Audio quality in video imported from VHS tapes

    Hi All,
I am trying to import old videos on VHS tapes, using a Canopus converter. The video is importing into iMovie just fine, but the audio has a loud buzzing sound that covers up the actual audio and is very annoying. Is there a way to extract the audio so I can clean it up using Sound Soap, then return the cleaned up version to iMovie?
    I am using iMovie '09, version 8.0.5.
I also use Final Cut Express, so maybe it would be better to just export it to FCE and then extract the video from there?
Please give as much step by step detail as possible for both approaches. In the iMovie "Help" it said to extract audio using advanced tools, but I couldn't find a command in any of the advanced tools to do that.
    Thanks.

  • Two problems with video: Import and gamma

I downloaded and tried LR4 today and found the new adjustment features quite impressive. I was also very eager to try the new video facilities. Woudl have loved to...
Running on iMAC with Lion, pictures and video from a Pentax K5. Video is full HD @25fps. Never had any problems in LR3.6 with importing or cataloging my videos.
When I tried to import already downloaded photos and videos two things happend:
First, some of the videos are not in their "correct" position in grid view, while others are correct. In finder date and filename are correct.
Second and more complicated, videos are completely off in colors and play with interruptions. I attached of few screen shots of what it looks like in LR3.6 and LR4.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Joachim
p.s. just tried direct import from camera, with the same effect, at least regarding colors and slow video replay.

    Thanks,
did not get a PM yet. After trying with several other sources I finally found the "mistake" after installing and trying LR4 on my MBP. The reason for the color shift is that I switched on the development preset Auto tone, which for video gives this crazy results. Other presets work just fine, even giving a warning that some of the adjustments might not apply in video. Auto Tone and the video is off.
    Hope this helps.

  • Audio problems with video chat between Mac & PC

    Hello,
My parents and I both recently purchased web cams to use for video chats. I am on a Mac, using an iSight through iChat, while they have a PC and are using a Logitech Quickcam 5000 through AOL IM version 5.9. I have successfully video chatted with other mac/isight users. Almost everything works fine chatting with my parents - the video works, and they can hear me. I however, am unable to hear them. I thought this might be a problem on their end, but when they open a video chat with me, an error message pops up saying that I "do not support the talk feature, or am not accepting talk invitations." They have been able to get the audio to work when doing so between two PCs using AOL IM. Is there anything I can do on my end that will let their audio come through to me?
    1.6 GHz PowerPC G5   Mac OS X (10.4.5)

    Hi Raoul,
Welcome To The Apple Discussion Pages.
If you mean you are trying to do Audio only chats with a PC which is using AIM 5.9 or 5.5 then it will not work.
The AIM application has never been able to do Audio Only chats to iChat
One end needs to have a camera (preferably the Mac end).
The PC end stilll needs to do the "Tuning" after getting to the Porperties.
They may also need to enable the application through the XP firewall.
And it goes without saying they have to be on XP.

  • Presenter 9 problem while video importing

I have a problem with Presenter 9 and I don't know if it is my misunderstanding or I understood something wrong.
I work with videos so I need to import videos/animations with Presenter.
    - When I insert a .swf I have no problems and all works properly.
    - If I try to insert any other video I can´t (.flv. H.264, MPG.....) As far as I understood, not having Quicktime could be only problematic in case of being necessary a preview. I don't set "preview" and when I try to insert the video it appears always the same fail problem about QuickTime.
Is there no way to insert a video (any format different to .swf animations) without having QuickTime? Is there the same problem with Presenter 10?
Thanks a lot for your support once more

I can import FLV videos but once that I try to see the presentation, none video is reproduced in the slide (image attached). However, I have no chance to import videos like .mpeg or h.264. It appears the message about the necessity of having Quicktime.
It seems that the video is not load so the only way that I have to import videos is using a .swf file with video bar.
Thanks in advance for your support.

  • 60GB 5g iPod Audio Problems on VIDEOS only

I've been looking all over the web for a solution but haven't found anything acceptable.
I'm using the latest version of iTunes, G5 iMac, 1 GIG RAM, System 10.4.5.
While my Music sounds great, my videos do not. Volume on Videos is adequate but not loud enough to block outside noises (if a subway passes by, I can't hear my Videos at all).
I've tried the option tab in iTunes and raised the volume slider all the way to the right (100%); I've tried "iPod Volume Booster" and "gopod". None of these utilities help.
While extracting DVDs in Handbrake I also use the higher audio settings: 48000 Sample Rate, 160 Bitrate. Results are still as I describe above.
Any other suggestions? Any way I can increase volume as I'm extracting videos (I don't see any such option in Handbrake)
Thanks in advance for any help.

    Not answered, just removing.

  • Audio Problem With Videos

Recently, I loaded into iTunes two episodes of the Simpsons. They're in iTunes and work when I play them, but to get them on my ipod I right clicked "convert to ipod", which after converting gave me a new video that played on my ipod, but there was no sound. Does anyone know why this might be and how I could fix it?

  • Heat issues with video import

Ive had my Macbook pro for about 3 weeks now and as far as I can tell its getting hotter (idont know how to find the exact temp but I know hot and my Macbook is!)
The heat has not been an issue until recently. And then when I was using the machine last night to import some video from a mimiDV camera and the heat was simply unacceptable the vent under the screen was so hot it was almost untoucable and also the hard drive was throwing out heat.
Now Im not sure if this has anything to do with the 7200rpm HDD I have installed in the machine but I was just wondering if anyone else has had this problem with video importing.

It has nothing to do with video editing per se. It has everything to do with heat generated from constant hard drive activity and higher CPU utilization. Check temps with CoreDuoTemp both under load and also idle.
    http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/29854
You can simulate loads also to get various temp readings.
    http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/24941
You can check your hard drive temp with Temperature Monitor.
    http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/19994
In fact if you start CoreDuoTemp first, shut it off, then run CoreDuoTemp you can see both your CPU and Harddrive temps in your dock or menubar with Temperature Monitor.

  • Audio problem when importing video files.

    Hello everyone,
I just started using FCP X a few days ago for a university project and I seem to encounter an audio problem when importing videos in .mp4, .mov format or via the import from camera option.
Indeed I need to import videos in .mp4 and .mov format into FCP X. The import in itself is normal I can see my videos into the events/clips library and if I play them from the library I can hear the sound quite perfectly.
However, when I want to edit my videos and put it in the timeline, there is no audio. As a result I started to think that my videos could be the problem so I tried the option "import from camera" option using the Isight camera of my macbook pro but the same things happened. I could hear the sound from the events/clips library but not from the timeline (I can't see any audiowaves in the timeline).
I found a solution using quicktime and extracting the audio of the video in .m4a then importing the videos files and the audi files corresponding but it's a long process and a waste of time  as FCP X should be able to import the audio of my video into the timeline directly. Especially if it can read it from events/clips library.
I hope I explained myself clearly and you could help me resolve my problem.
    Cheers
    Christophe
    PS: I'm using FCP X version 10.0

    Update to 10.0.5.
You have an incorrect setting when you edit. Try trashing your preferences. Post screen shots of your timeline and toolbar.

  • Macbook Video Importing Problem with Audio

I am trying to import videos to my macbook from my video camera in .mpg format (which i have done hundreds of times) and for some reason the audio will not play on the videos. The video imports fine except for no sound. I have no idea why this is doing this. It worked previously today but now it will not play any sound in the videos i import.

  • In Premiere Pro CS5.5 AVI file imports audio only - no video.

I've got a file (one of 3) I've been given to create a smaller file (320x480) from.
The file is an avi file and plays (video and audio) just fine in the native Windows media player. (I'm on Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit) There are no issues of memory or HDisc space.
    Video:
The file is 2:21:29 in length.
    720x480
    Data rate 1489kbps
    Total bitrate 1617kbps
    29 frames/second
    Audio:
    Bit rate 128kbps
    Channels 2 (stereo)
    Audio sample rate 48 kHz
    The file is about 1.6Gb
This is one of 3 I recieved. The other two were of comparable specs and similar length (not exactly but one was longer, the other shorter.)
The problem is that this particular file (the other two import perfectly), when imported, only comes in as an audio file. No video imports. The other files import as audio and video. No error message either.
I've imported all kinds of video files in the past with different frame sizes, rates, and aspect ratios, and codecs, yet I've never had one that only imports the audio without the video.
    Suggestions?!
