Audio problems nvidia
MSI K7N2G
ATHLON XP 2000 10x200 2004 by wcpuid
2X 256 MB PC 2700
I have a audio problem !!!!
I got the optional S-brachetdigital audio out for my MSI K7N2G motherboard and it works. The problem is that I can not get the Nvidia audio controles to work. I have updated the drivers and i still only have the standard windows audio controls.
Is this a motherboard problem or a driver?
I need some info on how to attack this problem.
With out this audio control i will not be able to set the controls for digital out.
P.S. I need digital sound
:O
Thanks
Hİ
ı solwed this problem with some help.

Unable to Use Onboard Audio with Nvidia GPU since Linux 3.4
I am currently stuck using linux 3.3.8-1 along with nvidia 295.49-1, because I don't know how to workaround the kernel disabling MSI for snd-hda-intel. This module is used by both the Nvidia HDMI audio and the ALC880 onboard audio. Previously, I have been able to disable HDMI audio to be able to use the onboard audio, but now I don't know what to do. I have attempted to use "options snd-hda-intel enable_msi=1" when modprobing on boot, which gets rid of the "hda_intel: Disabling MSI" message but it hasn't given me a working onboard audio output.
I have also used the following command along with enable_msi=1 (found here: http://www.mjmwired.net/kernel/Document … HOWTO.txt) in my rc.local
echo 1 > /sys/bus/pci/devices/0000\:00\:1b.0/msi_bus
Of course, it is my assumption that the kernel disabling MSI is the cause of the problem, but it might be something else. Please let me know if any additional logs would be helpful.

Audio problem with Pavilion dv5-1240EW
Hi all!!
I'm here to find help with my audio problem.
My laptop is HP Pavilion dv5-1240EW and i had download the audio form the HP side some time ago and also get new Nvidia drivers. My problem is that i can use the 5.1 sound on my Logitech X-530 because i can set in on my audio setting. I insert the screen (sorry but i have polish version of windows 7)
As you can see i can only one option but i should have also the other like: mono, 2.1 , and 5.1. It's funny but i have the option 5.1 but it disappear. And it looks like this drivers give me only 2 option spekers and headphones and nothing more.... I don't know what to do if the drivers form the original side "crush" my audio setting. The funny thing is that the subufer is working and 4 of 5 speakers work but you know is only right and left the middle is not work. I try to reinstall drivers but it doesn't help i can't find solution to this problem and i lost many hair so if you know how to fix it It was a great relieve to me.I get here the screen i don't know how my message get over 50,000 signs O.o. Here it is:

OMG two little pictures and "Message cannot exceed 50,000 characters. " -
Just bought this laptop and have audio problems. Volume is so low that I have to have it at 50% just to hear system sounds, 100% to listen to music or the Windows 7 videos. Sound is very tinny and crackly. Called HP support, and after first being told that my 3 day old laptop is out of warranty, I was put on hold. They came back and told me this is a known issue with this model, they don't have a fix, and they will email when they know more! Anyone else having this issue?
My old HP had Altec Lansing speakers and they were great! Unfortunately, it also had the known hardware issue bad motherboard, which died 2 weeks after the extended warranty, and they wouldn't fix it. So, I'm very leery about how HP stands behind "known hardware issues." Guess HP doesn't believe in recalls!Better ask for refund.

N460GTX Hawk in 2way SLI HD audio problems
Hello everyone and thanks for letting me join. Please bear with me on this post its a little confusing.
Here is my setup,
I have and alienware aurora pc with the Realtek High Def audio onboard the MB. Check.
I have installed 2 MSI GTX 460 Hawks with SLI bridge and nvidia drivers 260.99 Check.
I allowed installation of the nvidia HD audio driver, 1.0.15.0, Check.
Here is my issue,
after installing and setting up sli options
When the HDMI cable is plugged into the top card(which by the way is called GTX460 number 2 in the NCP), I get the post screen and sound works the first time on boot up, after a restart or cold boot however, I have to reinstall the nvidia HD audio driver because the system resorts back to onboard audio even though no speakers are plugged in. You see i have the HDTV output going to a receiver so that the sound goes through the TV first.
Now it seems that the nvidia hd audio problem is fixed by attaching the HDMI cable to the bottom card, another words I can reboot without having to reinstall driver....however there is no post screen.....just a no signal message on HDTV until windows comes on.
Now the bottom card was purchased first and put in the second slot first so that installation of the top card would be easier once purchased. I had post screen on the bottom card when it was alone. Now with the new card on top slot I dont and the bottom card is still known as GTX460 number 1 by the Nvidia control panel.
Please tell me I dont have to uninstall the cards and boot with the top card alone first and then install the bottom card second.thanks for the tips people, as far as the spdif cable nvidia claims its not required, they say the audio is passed through the PCIx16 slot and btw msi didn't ship one with either card.
So, I uninstalled both cards and then this time, installed only one at a time this time starting with the top card first and when i booted i got sound on the top card and it recognized the nvidia audio driver. I rebooted to make sure i still had audio and i still did.
I then installed the bottom card and attached the bridge and rebooted and then windows auto installed the driver. I got no sound this time out of the top card, the system went back to the onboard audio device. So now im stuck with booting without a post screen, so i can have audio. Thankfully games seem to still function normally when the hdmi cable is connected to the bottom card. Im gonna check Dell for a Bios update for this machine, keep thinking guys and gals. -
Msi k8n neo plat and audio problem
got me a msi k8n neo plat, great board but have a few minor problems that i have noticed. one is the audio problem i have- when i listen to winamp, and surf, i will loose my winamp connection surfing, and then have to start winamp. is this a bios thing, or nvidia platform or chipset problem?
Hi
Thats the Nvidea board, this is the via board forum. You want forum below this one, as they will be able to help better.
good luck
jocko -
Of course, no one in this forum has had the audio problem that I have, so here I go.
I just installed the Neo2 Plat. Only card im using is the video card. I get no audio. I use the s/pdif ports only. I can use either the optical or coax, but i need to use one of those 2 only. The only way I can make my spkrs make a sound is by setting the spkr config to 7.1 and that only gets me sound out of the front 2 spkrs.
I have the Klipsch Pro Media 5.1 with their Dolby Digital Decoder. I have a 2nd computer hooked up to this, hence why I need to use a 1 cable audio solution. I know everything else works, b/c everything was working fine when I was on my Abit NF7-s, and the sound works fine from the other machine.
My audio source was not a 2ch source. I was using the auido test, and 3d demo test in the realtek software. If i choose the 5.1 setup, i get no sound at all from any spkr. but if i choose 7.1, when i run the tests, only the front left and front right spkrs get sound.
I havent tried the realtek drivers yet from their site, so far Ive only used the MSI provided drivers from live driver.
I have another problem, with the Gart driver freezing the system at the Win XP loading screen, but Ill save that for another post. But if u know what I'm talking about, and know a solution and/or forum link, feel free.Quote

Did I call you an idiot? No! I was informing you of why you can't get 6 channels down a single SPDIF WITHOUT dolby (or DTS) encoding. As far as I am concerned this is a well know fact everyone accepted PRIOR to the arrival of the soundstorm APU. Selecting 6 channels and testing them works with the analogue outputs, just because the test is there dosn't mean Dolby encoding is present and you can get 6 channels down the SPDIF!
Here is a link where a solution to losing soundstorm dolby encoding is discussed:-

Audio Problem since upgrading to Mountain Lion
Has anyone encountered audio problems with their iMac? I just upgraded to Mountain Lion on my i7 27" with 16GB of Ram and found that the Audio starts to get distorted and eventually cuts out after about an hour! It starts cutting in and out when I move the mouse and eventually there will be no sound at all!
Sometimes it can take over an hour of steady use, my last time was watching a movie on Netflix. I initially noticed this using a USB DAC Headphone Amp.
I never had any Audio problems before, my machine is over 1 year old.
I enjoy watching movies in iTunes and DVDs, but this is making it difficult! A full restart usually fixes the problem for a time but it will eventually come back
I'm seriously thinking of going back to Lion for the time being and seeing if it is a Hardware problem.i don't know if mine is the same issue, but i had no sound through any of my applications after upgrading to mountain lion. here is what i had to do to fix it:
-- applications > utilities > audio midi setup > UNmute all options under "built-in output" (they were mysteriously muted)
Also, I noticed that the options for "use this device for sound output" and "play alerts & sound effects through this device" were no longer assigned to my Built-in Output device. They were assigned to some other random sound driver. To fix, i right-clicked on Built-in Output and reassigned those items to my built in speakers. All fixed now!
very weird problem, though. -
Can Apple fix the 12 bit audio problem once and for all?
I have had persistent audio problems from I Life V3 all the way up to I Life 06. Sometimes it is synch issues. Sometimes it is audio dropping out. I have been through the various forums and applied the various remedies with some successs, some failure. The basic problem is that I have an extensive quantity of Mini DV tapes dating back to 1997, most recorded with 12 bit sound (prior to 2002). Apple's basic stance has been, you must use 16 bit sound or I Movie and/or I DVD won't work and . And proposes awkward workarounds. Basically placing the onus on it's own consumers. Why can't 12 bit sound support be included in I DVD 06 and these persistent audio issues put to rest once and for all? Is there some overwhelming technical reason why it cannot be done?
I don't know about overwhelming, but the DVD specification (which was not developed by Apple) calls for the audio to be sampled at 16-bit/48KHz (I think you might also be able to use 96KHz as well). This is what the software expects. If you choose to use another sample rate then the software may or may not be able to "fix" it in post. The real problem is that many camcorder manufactures set the audio to 12-bit by default.

HOW TO FIX NO AUDIO PROBLEM IN FLASH (4 SOLUTIONS)
This solution is for WINDOWS ONLY!!! Unfortunately I believe
it is a bug in flash itself as I have read more than one instance
of this same no audio problem occuring on MAC'S and LINUX based
systems as well. IF YOU KNOW OF SOLUTIONS TO THE MAC OR LINUX BASED
PROBLEMS, PLEASE POST THEM IN THIS THREAD.
Description of the problem: Video sites such as YouTube,
VideoSift, Break, Google Videos, Yahoo, and a plethora of others do
not stream embedded audio. Viewing a YouTube video, for example, on
VideoSift.com results in the video playing back with no audio.
However, by going directly to YouTube and playing back the same
video, it appears to work.
THERE ARE SEVERAL POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS.
Problem: You may be missing your WAVEMAPPER driver.
Cause: Wavemapper driver was removed during installation or
updating of the Flash Player. It might not necessarily be Flash
that removes it but apparently something does.
Solution #1: Google "Flash No Audio WAVEMAPPER" for
directions, its been covered a bunch, but basically requires
running REGEDIT and readding the WAVEMAPPER key to the appropriate
location and value in the registry. Its not as difficult as it
sounds.
http://weyland.be/wrdprss/index.php/2006/08/22/no-sound-in-macromedia-flash-player-9/
if your wavemapper key is installed correctly...
Possible Cause: Corrupted or damaged flash content preventing
audio streaming from working correctly.
Soltuion #2: Run CC Cleaner and delete only cached Flash
content. It is a free program, again just google "download CC
Cleaner". This particular solution worked for me.
If CC Cleaner also does not work, the description of your
problem may differ slightly. In my case on several computers, one
day it worked, the next day it didnt. If it never worked, this
would be a logical solution for you. One variation of this that I
have found is to create a new Windows User Account and log into it.
The reason the CC Cleaner method may work better is that the User
Accounts have their own separate cache folders so a corrupted cache
preventing audio playback on one profile will not be available on
the other User Account to cause the same problem. I wont explain
how to do this as the CC Cleaner will work better but if you are
curious, yet again google "create new windows user accounts". I
have also seen this method work on one of my affected computers but
it did not fix the issue on the account I was having problems with.
http://www.ccleaner.com Install
and run it, use it only to remove Flash under the Applications Tab,
Multimedia, Adobe Flash Player. Check it and uncheck everything
else, then hit Analyze then Run Cleaner.
Possible Cause: Missing Codec
Solution #2: Download and install the K-Lite Codec pack.
Again, google it. A CODEC stands for COmpressor DECompressor and is
a way to make audio and video files small enough to be transferred
on the internet. There are a lot of different codecs and if you
want to play back a video that was compressed using a particular
codec, you will need that same corresponding codec to decompress
your media source and view its content. Basically if you dont have
a codec, you cant observe the content of the media. If you have a
VCR and want to play back a DVD, you are out of luck unless you get
a DVD Player. DivX and XVid Codecs are some of the very popular
codecs used on the net, but to get those, I still suggest getting
the K-Lite Codec Pack.
http://www.free-codecs.com/download/K_Lite_Codec_Pack.htm
Solution #4: Go back to Flash 7. If it aint broke dont fix
it. This Final alternative is only to be used as a last resort.
You'll have to get rid of Flash 9 and go back to Flash 7. The
really tricky part here is that you have to prevent Flash from auto
updating itself. If you install Flash 7, and hit up YouTube, you'll
immediately get Flash 9+ installed again with the same problems. So
AFTER you uninstall Flash 9 (use Macromedias / Adobes uninstaller,
yet again go google it) make a new text file and name it MMS.CFG,
in the file put this one line "AutoUpdateDisable=1" (without the
quotes) and put it in BOTH your c:\windows\system32 AND
c:\windows\system32\Macromed\Flash folders. This will prevent flash
from Auto Updating to 9+, then have to find some place to download
the old flash 7 installer. I found one here.
http://www.intercomm.com/downloads/Flash7.
Only problem is that most sites will try to make you install Flash
9 and Flash 7 does not work on all sites, but it does on some like
YouTube. DO NOT UPDATE TO FLASH 9+ IF YOU USE THIS METHOD.
You will probably want to IMMEDIATELY go to
http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/settings_manager05.htm l
after installing Flash 7 and UNCHECK the update feature
I've tried to write this quick little guide at 3AM so Im not
going to take more time to research other ways to fix this problem.
If you have other solutions, such as for MAC and LINUX, or feel
like adding on to something else that I've written here (links
would be useful to the downloads I suggested) or correcting any
mistakes I probably have made, please say so.
One of these solutions is bound to help you. Theres multiple
causes for this no audio problem so there is obviously multiple

Audio Problems in Adobe Presenter: Help Needed Urgently!!
I am using trial versions of Adobe Presenter 7 and Adobe Connect 8.
I created a presentation in in Powerpoint 2002 and published through Adobe Presenter to Adobe Connect Pro. This presentation has voice over recorded through the Adobe Presenter "record audio" option.
In Adobe Connect Pro, I created a meeting and shared the above mentioned presentation through the "Share Document" option in Connect Pro.
Now, when I play the presentation in this Adobe Connect Meeting, I am not getting any audio that was recorded in Adobe Presenter. Whereas if I play the published presentation directly it plays the recorded audio.
Can anyone help me on this?
1. Are there any settings to be done in Powerpoint or Adobe Presenter or Connect pro?
2. Is it the problem of Trial Account or something like that?
Please let me know the solution. Need to work on this ASAP!!!
Thanks in Advance,
YoginiThis is a weird one. If you created a prezo with audio and published it to AC (Adobe Connect) and everything worked fine on your desktop then it should work fine in AC i.e. there are no other settings required on AC's side, it should just play.
As I am typing this I thought of similar audio problems that we have experienced in the past. A big one would be where another user created a PPT on their laptops and handed it to us. When testing the audio did not work. Reason being is that not all the files were coppied over BUT I must accept that this is not your problem as it definately worked on your PC before you published it to AC.
Wait there is one setting in the publish settings. In the output options tick "Upload source presentation with assests", then tick audio.
I cannot think of anything else. There is a man called Heyward Drummond on the Adobe Connect General forum, who is a real master at answering queries like this. Why not post your query there and see if he comes up with an answer? -
I have tried making disc image, burning disc and the audio will pause for second several times in the play back. It does not do it when playing back in iDVD.
The slide show was started in iPhoto and sent to iDVD. I have started over several times and still same issue. Makes a bad impression and is really not useable for presentation.
I have 30 gigs free space, changed settings to Professional encoding and still same issue. I have no open apps, changed all energy settings and screen saver to never.
Any ideas, I am fresh out, never had this problem with previous version.
FrustratedAndy,
This question is really in the wrong place - this is the iDVD '08 forum and not the iDVD 5 forum.
From the description of your problem using Toast, it sounds like you didn't actually export a DV video movie out of iMovie.
Export a DV video movie out of iMovie (it will run 13 GB per hour) and play it back with the QuickTime Player to see if the audio settings you made are really there. If this movie plays OK, you can bring IT into iDVD or Toast for turning it into a DVD.
If the DV video movie you created STILL has audio problems in the QuickTime Player, ask you question about THAT issue in the correct iMovie forum.

IMovie audio problems when burning in Toast 6
Hi,
i've tried to burn an imovie project in idvd 5 but i get 'the error #-1 was reported' like most people have been and i've tried loads of things suggested to fix it with no joy.
I then sent the imovie project to toast titanium 6 where it burned fine. However, when i watched it i noticed that although toast had picked up all the audio (both dv audio and aiff), it did not pick up all the volume adjustments during the movie. how annoying! for example: i have an aiff clip that fades into a movie clip with the sound gradually going down but Toast picks up the sound staying at the same level. this also happens with volume adjustments in a DV file.
Any suggestions why this happens / how i can fix it?
Cheers,
AndyAndy,

Any Bluetooth audio problems since upgrading to ICS?
Hi.
Was wondering if anyone has had any Bluetooth audio problems since upgrading to ICS? In particular, have you had any stuttering and/or pauses in streaming since the upgrade?
I use a MW600 with my phone and I get stuttering and pauses every few minutes between the phone and the MW600 which is very annoying - to the point where I can't reliably use the phone for audio any more.
Thanks
SavcomSorry but it seems to be a problem some users are experiencing. It's already been reported so hopefully there will be a fix for this soon.
