Audio problems on export to QT - FCP HD 4.5

I've seen some posts about audio trouble when exporting a sequence to create a Quicktime file--but the solution, re-render and run Audio Mixdown, isn't working for me. Actually I don't even see an Audio Mixdown option, but I know there used to be, maybe in FCP 3.
What happens is that in one area, just the music tracks cut out--although it plays just fine in the sequence. Any ideas for FCP HD 4.5? Thanks!
PowerBook G4 15   Mac OS X (10.3.9)   FCP HD 4.5

It is located here: SEQUENCE>RENDER ONLY>MIXDOWN.
That usually solves it.

  • Audio problems when exporting files from Premiere Pro CS5

I try to post in English.
I have audio problems in Premiere Pro CS5 when exporting a film.
I cut an interview. The sound seems not to be synchronized when exporting a file. It doesn´t matter what file format I export. On cutting points the sound is different to the sound I hear in premiere. In premiere the audio sounds very good but in exported file I hear cracks on cutting points.
When I reimport the audio file an put it in the timeline the synch point is correct but the interview differs about 2 frames to the original audio in premiere.
The material was filmed on Sony ex3. The files are XDCam HD. I have updated the production suite.
    Thanks for answers

Also, make sure that you check the box marked "Export Audio" if you want a MP4 extension.

  • Audio problems after exporting out of iMovie

    Aloha!
I have a 48 minute movie created in imovie with lots of audio, clips and transitions. It works perfectly when I preview or play it in iMovie. When I try to share it to iDvd, export to iDvd, or to save it as a Quicktime movie, it looks great for several minutes, then the audio tracks get messed up. The correct audio is there, but overlayed on it is snippets from farther into the project, or whole tracks from later in the project, or places where the audio drops out completely. I spent about 70 hours creating this movie and really want to burn it to DVD so I can play it on the big screen. I did burn one version to dvd, and it looked and sounded great - until the audio problems began... any help would be greatly appreciated.
In Garage Band there is a feature where you can consolidate your bits into one track - should I be doing something in iMovie after I finish it before I export it?

what kind of speed changes do you mean? If you mean using some clips in slo-mo (with the sound dropped out) then yes I used a LOT of them... but they are also working fine for the first several minutes...

  • Audio problems when exporting

    Hi there.
I'm having trouble exporting my video file. The resulting .mp4 has audio that is screeching. See video below, password 'audio55'.
    Private Video on Vimeo
The problem arose when I updated from Leopard to Yosemite on my imac. The audio was messed up upon export whether I used CS5 or CC. So I used Time Machine to jump back to a date before I upgraded to Yosemite and now I'm exporting from CS5 again, using OS X 10.6.8 (Leopard) and the same issue still happens, as shown in the video.
I have been using this footage (AVCHD) with the same sequence settings for years. There is one error that pops up before I open the project, that the Scratch disks are write protected or unavailable and that they need to be set to my documents folder, which I 'ok'.
    Please help!
    Thanks,
    David

    Hi there
I've seen others report that it's helpful to adjust the audio so that each slide doesn't begin playing audio until .2 or .3 seconds into the slide.
Perhaps try that and see how you fare.

  • Audio problems after exporting

I have created a 43 minute iMovie with very, very heavy editing.
I love my movie, and until recently, it would play back fine within the application.
(but now, not even this works for me anymore.)
When I export the movie in any format, My audio gets all mixed up.. Random audio clips from other parts of the movie are heard with, or substituted during other parts. It is so frustrating after so much hard work.
Is there any way to resolve this problem without having to start from scratch?

Dito! I just worked for months on 45 min movie and the same problem. And the answer is WHAT?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! whats the piont of beat markers and the ability to use all these things and now i have to WHAT??????? go back and try to re edit the speeds? Great I switched to an Apple only to find out BIG mistake. I cannot believe this has not been fixed. Whata joke! I have to get this DVD in the hands of someone by the end of the weekend that might be able to change my life and i have made a GRAVE mistake in intrusting it in a MAC

  • AUDIO PROBLEMS when exporting to tape

    Hi!
    ADOBE PRO CS4 on VISTA.
    a)  Produced my film on timeline and there everything is perfect. Audio and video are fully synchronised.
However: when I export to tape, playing the exportresult, audio comes about 10 seconds later then the corresponding video! Already from the very first clip!
I rerenderd audio and Work area a few times and also tried Clip -> Audio Options-> Render and Replace but nothing seems to work out.
This is the second time I have this problem.
    b)  When there is no solution for this problem ( an awfull idea!!) I think I have to Unlink Video and Audio for all my clips (about a thousand of them) and then shift the audiopart about 10 seconds to the left.
I found out that "group-unlink" with the help of the ALT knob (an advice I read about here) doesn't function with me !!
Is there a solution for these problems? Thanks a lot!

  • Audio problem when exporting

Everytime I'm exporting something with FCPX, the audio is really weird, kind of laggy. Here's an example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AkLNLKfZVxs
It does that on every one of my projects. They all use songs from the iTunes Store and no matter what presets I choose, it does the same bug.
What should I do about it? How to fix it?
    Thanks

I see you are on Lion. There have been reports that Lion has problems with compressed audio, which would include songs from iTunes. I'd try converting your audio to uncompressed (AIFF) and using the uncompressed version.
There are many tools that can do this, but you can use FCPX if you wish. Create a new project, place your song on the timeline, and then Share->Export Audio. Select "AIFF File" in the dropdown. After it is exported, import the resulting file (it will have an .aiff file extension) into your Event, and use that file instead of the original. See if that helps.

  • Audio problems when exporting to avi

I'm attempting to publish a Captivate 4 project to an avi file for upload to a video sharing site.
The file pubishes just fine except that the audio gets progressively out of sync. It starts out fine but as the video plays the audio gets further and further behind. By the end of an 8 and half minute movie, audio is about 20 seconds behind video.
I've tried doing the export on multiple machines (all Win XP) and using various video codecs including Cinepak, Indeo and Xvid. I've also tried changing the video frame rate but the results are always the same.
Anybody else run into this problem? Any workarounds?
    Thanks

  • Audio problem after exporting videos from imovie.

When I export videos I've made in imovie, the audio becomes distorted. Clips that I have silenced, start to play during clips that they don't belong to. Any fixes?

    Hi
How did You Export videos ? To what and into what format ?
    If to iDVD then
    • First I would trash iMovie pref files and iDVDs likevice
    • Then in iMovie - Share to Media Browser and as Large (Not HD or other res.)
    • Then in iDVD from Media button Movies import it.
    • Then test play in iDVD Preview
    • If OK then - Save as a DiskImage
    • Test this with DVD-player tool
    • Still OK
    • Then burn it to DVD either via iDVD or if You don't wat to re-calculate - use Disk Util tool.
(set down burn speed to x4)

  • Audio problem once exported to Quicktime

  • Solve my corrupted audio problem for $$ and eternal gratitude

My video project has corrupted audio suddenly. I've read about other audio problems when exporting, but all I did was save the project while editing, no export. I have the prefs set to extract audio at pasteover, which I've done a lot of for this 2-camera wedding shoot. I also have the second audio track occasionally used for background music. All three tracks (video, audio 1, audio 2) on the timeline have corrupted audio for the entire length of the project. It sounds like a helicopter whirr was added, it's very choppy. Also, both cpus are maxxed out and the process monitor shows iMovie utilizing 180%+ consistently. When iMovie isn't running, it's in the single digits. As soon as I load iMovie the cpus max out. This hasn't happened the whole project, just recently. So what changed? I don't know. I've been doing the same thing the whole time, the pasteovers, the add titles, the add background track, saving the project every couple of minutes. Each time I've saved, it looks like it's listing off different files or clips, not just the changed clips. I've tried deleting the QT movie it created in the cache and let it recreate to see if that would help, but it didn't. Would deleting the files in the waveform cache help? I've got about 30 hours into this project already and would love to resurrect this audio if possible. Either that or it's Jim Beam and call it a day. I thought this was non-destructive editing, but apparently that's just the originals? That doesn't help much when the whole project audio goes in the toilet and I'm looking at redoing this whole project. Anyone who can fix this is getting a big ol' sloppy kiss on the mouth and an iTunes gift certificate.

I've never personally seen the audio problems you describe, but there's some things I'd try before giving up. As you've probably read, it's not unusual to have playback problems in projects containing complex audio. The odds for it seem to increased in QuickTime 7.
    1. Try opening the "TimeLine Movie.mov" that's inside the Cache folder of the project in QuickTime Player. If the audio plays okay there, the audio data is intact and you're seeing a playback anomaly in iMovie. (QuickTime Player may choke too, but don't conclude anything from that.)
To access the movie, Control-click on the project icon and choose "Show Package Contents".
    2. Try exporting ONLY the project audio to an AIFF file, then import THAT back into the project and replace the audio you have. That will "flatten" the audio and make it much easier to play. (To be safe, on a copy of the project.)
Or if you have QuickTime Pro, you might try extracting all the audio from the Timeline movie.
To export to an AIFF file, choose File > Export, click on QuickTime, set the popUp menu to "Expert Settings", press Share, then from the top popUp menu, choose "Sound to AIFF". Choose the level of quality you want from the bottom popUp menu, then Save.
What may be going on here is that extracting audio has created MANY audio files in the project, some possibly very large. (Each time we extract audio from a clip that is part of a Media file shared with other clips, iMovie extracts ALL the audio from that Media file, not just the audio of the selected clip.) To see what audio files the project contains, look in the Media folder of the project.
If you get this solved, please say how.
Oh, and if you haven't updated to iMovie 7.1, you might try that. There were improvements in handling multiple audio tracks, I read somewhere.
BTW, it's usually not a good idea to change things inside the project package. iMovie can get pretty confused. The Timeline movie is replaced each time we save, so that's not a big deal.

  • Weird audio problems with Motion when exporting quicktime videos

I have a Motion project with 2 video clips of people talking. When I create a RAM preview everything plays back fine. When I export a quicktime, the first second or so of each video clip (within the quicktime) have no audio. I've adjusted the in and out of each clip in Motion but I don't think that would make the audio disappear on export. Thinking it was just a bad export, I tried just exporting the audio and the same thing happens.
    Here's what i'm using:
    Mac Pro dual 3.0 Xeon
    10 gigs of RAM
    Motion 2.1.2

    hi,
motion 2 had some odd audio problems that surfaced now and then. The only way round it was to bring the clip into FCP and edit the audio in there, and then export from fcp.
Motion 3 might have fixed this. Not sure havent had the problem for some time, since I make sure all finnishing is done in FCP.
    hope this helps

  • Major "BUG" in Imovie 9 - Audio Sync Problem on Export  !

Well I'm a hard-core Apple user from day one, but unfortunately today I'm not to proud about the latest version of Imovie 9.
It seems there has been a "MAJOR audio sync problem on export" in Imovie 9, since July 2009. Apple knows about this bug for a long time now, but didn't release any bugfix yet!
    Here's what it's all about:
It seems if you use the (custom /manual) speed-adjustments and not the preset slider speeds, you will experience (after exporting your movie) annoying bursts of audio from clips that had been set to mude. The strange thing is that you will only experience this audio-bug after exporting, you will NOT experience it in the project playback mode!
    Here's what you can do:
Find ALL the clips in your Project that are Speed Adjusted.
Instead of using a "Custom Speed" percentage, use any of the "Preset Speeds"
    Preset Speeds on the Slider = 12.5%, 25%, 50%, 100%, 200%, 400%, 800%
Then, export your project as usual.
    No more sync issues.
Really hope That Apple will come up with a real BUGFIX soon.
It's a shame that a major bug in a otherwise GREAT PRODUCT, hasen't been fixed yet!
What's wrong with Apple?...this is not one of their finest hours.
Still A BIG fan from Imovie HD,...I'll chance to Imovie 9 when the bugs are finaly fixed!

This is TERRIBLE! I have spent so much time working on this project, and I really don't want to adjust the speed settings to the preset levels, BECAUSE I need to motion of the video to match certain musical points. I can't re-film my video, and I needed this project done TODAY. I made a music video with some kids at summer camp, and today is the last day- the day we were supposed to all watch it together, and now, I've got NOTHING!!!! (Because I can't export it without all those glitches!)
I am MAJORLY DISAPPOINTED on this one. I've made movies in windows movie maker before, and purposely used imovie, because you know, everything on macs is supposed to be better. Well, I guess I was wrong.

  • Audio dissolve problems after export

    Hello there.
I have a problem with audio dissolves. If I export the mastermixed file, the is strange and the mixing isn't right. Where I put a audio dissolve in fading in or out the music sometimes is doubled.
In Premiere, everything sounds fine. When I export in ProRes I get these audio problems. Before the update to 8.1 everything went well.
    Any ideas?
    Best regards,
    Florian.
    OSX 10.8.5
    premiere CC 2014.1

I got it. It's the AME export! If I export the file directly with Premiere I have no strange audio probs but if I export the soundfiles or the program file with Media Encoder 2014.1 the dissolves are really bad...

  • MXF export with audio problems

    Hi!
At the brodcast station that I work we recently upgrade to premiere CC. Our workflow are almost XDCAM files (MXF) and whe an edition is finished we export to MXF to play out or copy to XDCAM disc.
Recently I have a multi camera project and everything works perfect but when I export to an MXF file the sound as a "blank frame" in sound. The concert as an hour and twenty minutes and at the fisrt second
theres is that little "cut" in sound that doesn't exist in timeline.
I tryed various ways to export and everytime I got this frame in the same place. I also export timelines with 2 minutes from other projects, more simple, and always I got a "blank frame" somewhere in audio.
Tryed to export with 2 channels, 8 channels, stereo timeline multichannel timeline and everything result in a MXF in this audio issue.
Anyone already detect this exporting to MXFs, any sugestion to resolve this problem?

Thank you norok65 for replying this post.
I searched for some post with my problem and I didn't find so I post this one. I'm "glad" that I'm not the only one having this Kind of problem.
Like you said the problem cames with some updates. We used Premiere CS5 and no problem with MXF. We tryed the CS6 to possible update and
at the begining no problem but after some updates this problem appears and we abandoned the CS6 and we tested the CC. No problem with CC
and we did the migration. So, CC export MXFs with no problem but after some updates the audio problems came up again.
I think the problem is the updates and Adobe must fix this.
Jim, I already did some tests and exported only audio to WAV and no problem. Other formats like quictime no problem too.
This kind of problem only appears with MXF.
Like I said our workflow are almost everything in MXF (XDCAM) and we wish this issue can be solved.
