Audio problems when moving between chapters

My movie consists of imported video from my camera. I have a two songs playing over the video - one at the beginning of the first chapter and one at the beginning of the last chapter. When I play the movie straight through, the audio works perfectly fine. When I skip between chapters the two with songs play correctly. However the chapters that have the original audio are distorted - the video seems to pause or stall out and the audio doesn't play for several seconds. Does anyone know what my problem might be and how to fix it?

SteveG, I don't believe it is an 1820m issue at all. Do you have a single or multi-core processor? This behavior did not occur on my old P4 3GHz system. I only started observing it when I built this quad core system about a month ago.
By the way, today I replaced my mobo with one of the same brand and model and the behavior still exists (to rule out a defective mobo.) I've also tried 3 different video cards (although they were all NVIDIA) and the problem remains no matter which card I use.

As I was typing the first post, I verified that I was using the Emu 1820m ASIO driver in both Edit and Multitrack views. (As I was writing it, it crossed my mind that I might have it set to something else in one mode.) However, it is the same in both.
One thing I forgot to mention is that there is one more app that behaves similarly (Reaper). All other apps (Sonar, FL Studio, eXT, Ableton Live, Sound Forge, Wavosaur) do not show this behavior and are rock solid.

I believe Sonar, FL Studio, eXT, Ableton Live, Sound Forge, Wavosaur, etc.. are doing something properly when playing back audio and/or initializing plugins that Adobe Audition and Reaper are failing to do properly with certain hardware configurations.

Problem when moving between pages

Hi all,
I have buit an interface in Flash Catalyst and imported it into FB to modify a few little things. However, when I run the application and move between the "pages" I built in Catalyst, I noticed that the pages dont reset at the top. By this I mean: if I scroll down a long page and click a "next" button, the following page wont begin at the top, it will display at the point where I scrolled to on the previous page.
Is there a way to make a resulting page start at the top like it would if it were HTML?

When i import the fxp file in to FB the pages are already built. How would I go about putting the pages in a scroller (since catalyst doesnt already do it)?
I can drag out the Scroller component, but it doesn seem as if I can build anything in it. Sorry... I am quite new to this.
I made a quick little example and pasted the code below. Would I be able to modify this in some way?

Running Adobe Photoshop Elements 12 is sluggish when moving between pictures on new iMac. I have a standard 21" iMac with 8 gb of RAM, but it still sticks for up to 30 seconds when switching pictures in organizer or other functions. How can I get it more responsive?

How large is your HD & how much space do you have left? Make sure you are using the latest version of APE.
You should also contact Adobe Support and/or post in the Adobe Forums since it's their product.

Audio problem when importing video files.

Hello everyone,
I just started using FCP X a few days ago for a university project and I seem to encounter an audio problem when importing videos in .mp4, .mov format or via the import from camera option.
Indeed I need to import videos in .mp4 and .mov format into FCP X. The import in itself is normal I can see my videos into the events/clips library and if I play them from the library I can hear the sound quite perfectly.
However, when I want to edit my videos and put it in the timeline, there is no audio. As a result I started to think that my videos could be the problem so I tried the option "import from camera" option using the Isight camera of my macbook pro but the same things happened. I could hear the sound from the events/clips library but not from the timeline (I can't see any audiowaves in the timeline).
I found a solution using quicktime and extracting the audio of the video in .m4a then importing the videos files and the audi files corresponding but it's a long process and a waste of time as FCP X should be able to import the audio of my video into the timeline directly. Especially if it can read it from events/clips library.
I hope I explained myself clearly and you could help me resolve my problem.

You have an incorrect setting when you edit. Try trashing your preferences. Post screen shots of your timeline and toolbar.

My apple Tv has audio problems when streaming from my NAS server.

My Apple TV has audio problems when streaming from my NAS server or computer and even internet. I can hear the click sound it makes when you click on the icons, but when the movie starts there is no audio. This even happens when using XBMC. I have HMDI directly to my TV suing Apple TV 2. I have tried resetting, turning off both TV and Apple TV, and changing the HDMI cable. It is driving me nuts.

XMBC requires a hack, we cannot help with hacked devices.

Losing the audio track when moving a clip from the browser to the timeline

Today we were trying to add two clips from the browser in Final Cut Express HD to the timeline that was created yesterday. The problem is, the clips we were adding today are not moving with the audio tracks. All other clips from when we created the movie are fine but the two we added today have no sound. The audio works when viewing the clip in "viewer" but not once it is moved to the timeline. Any thoughts?

Look at the left side of the time line, there is a device (the patch panel) to set the current video and audio target tracks. (little V1 and a1 a2 icons). Swith them to desired tracks to select the target audio tracks (that's where the video and audio-or just one of them-will be inserted in timeline upon editing). There is also a contextual menu (control click) with reset panel command.

Audio Problems when burning

I have tried making disc image, burning disc and the audio will pause for second several times in the play back. It does not do it when playing back in iDVD.
The slide show was started in iPhoto and sent to iDVD. I have started over several times and still same issue. Makes a bad impression and is really not useable for presentation.
I have 30 gigs free space, changed settings to Professional encoding and still same issue. I have no open apps, changed all energy settings and screen saver to never.
Any ideas, I am fresh out, never had this problem with previous version.

From the description of your problem using Toast, it sounds like you didn't actually export a DV video movie out of iMovie.
Export a DV video movie out of iMovie (it will run 13 GB per hour) and play it back with the QuickTime Player to see if the audio settings you made are really there. If this movie plays OK, you can bring IT into iDVD or Toast for turning it into a DVD.
If the DV video movie you created STILL has audio problems in the QuickTime Player, ask you question about THAT issue in the correct iMovie forum.

IMovie audio problems when burning in Toast 6

Hi,
i've tried to burn an imovie project in idvd 5 but i get 'the error #-1 was reported' like most people have been and i've tried loads of things suggested to fix it with no joy.
I then sent the imovie project to toast titanium 6 where it burned fine. However, when i watched it i noticed that although toast had picked up all the audio (both dv audio and aiff), it did not pick up all the volume adjustments during the movie. how annoying! for example: i have an aiff clip that fades into a movie clip with the sound gradually going down but Toast picks up the sound staying at the same level. this also happens with volume adjustments in a DV file.
Any suggestions why this happens / how i can fix it?

802.1X Authentication issues when moving between switch ports

Hi Guys,
We are having some issues at our office where when users move from one switch to another, the 802.1X authentication does not want to take place. The PC just gets an APIPA address. Now I have read about features that MAC Move and MAC replace but they seem to be used when moving from one port a switch to another port on that same switch. Will MAC move help for issues between switches? And should I focus my attention on the switch's configuration or have a look at the NPS server that might be blocking that authentication as the user is already authenticated?
My configuration we have on the switch ports look as follows:

I got some problems when I try to move from OWB 10.1 to OWB 10.2.
In the new environment I have

When I try to create a dimension I got the following errors:
VLD-0338: The hierarchy DEF in dimension D_ENGINE contains only one level ENGINE.
For Storage Type-relational along with Deployment Option-Deploy Data Objects, dimension can consist of only one level (without any containing hierarchy).
VLD-0339: In Relational Dimension D_ENGINE, the hierarchy DEF contains either only one level or no levels.
Relational Dimension hierarchy should contain atleast two levels or relational dimension can contain only one level with out any hierarchy.
When I then try to edit the dimension the Data Object Editor is not opened when I right-click and select "Open Editor". However when I double-click the Data Object Editor is opened but it is totally empty.
Another problem I have is when I try to create a Process Flow, I can't create any tranistions. When I place the cursor on the first activity I get the arrow but when I drag it to the next no arrow is cretaed between them,
I also like to add parameters to the start activity but I can't find the "Activity View"

Any body out there had this happen also or know how to diagnose and fix this type of problem? I would hate to have to delete my whole Firefox program and have to start over again. If that is the case I will probably just scrap it and go on to try Google Chrome instead. I already have GC partially set up. I really have liked Firefox up to this point. I know add ons can cause problems at times but I haven't added anything new lately and this just started happening?

Audio problem when running Win XP Pro SP3

I have a problem when running Windows XP SP3 on my MacBook. Every minute or so, and this happens consistently, the music would be played in a slow-motion mode, and after a few seconds return to normal speed. I have exchanged for another MacBook, and I am having the exact same problem. I have all the drivers installed properly, and have tried both iTunes and WMP. This even happens when I am gaming or watching YouTube.
The problem does not exist when I'm running Mac OS X.

After spending a few hours googling around I finally found the solution to the problem. At first I thought it was something wrong with my Windows XP Pro, but apparently people running Vista were having the same problem.
I installed Vista myself and indeed was having the same problem.
The problem apparently is a clash between the sound card and the WiFi card on the MacBook. If you turn off your WiFi, you would not get the occasional adio/video slowdown.
The solution was actually quite simple, force-install the 5.x Broadcom 802.11n driver, and voila, problem taken care of.

Audio Problem When Making Normal Call

I've run into a problem where, if I place or receive a call using my iPhone, the iPhone doesn't play or transmit the conversation audio. In fact, I don't even hear ringing. This changes if I change the call into Speaker mode; audio seems to work fine after I do that. I was having this problem last night and it continued into today, and I've reset it twice. I'd prefer to not have to restore it and put all of my music and stuff back on the phone. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I have noticed that from time to time the device loses track of what to use for output.
Since I use BlueTooth most of the time I have been able to bypass the problem with the depression of the button on the BlueTooth headset.
When I do not have the BlueTooth on, I normally have to put the iPhone up to my ear to hear the audio.
When possible you can go to Voicemail, depress the audio key and then depress the manner that you want to receive the audio.

Audio problem when burning DVD

Hi, Hope that someone can help me, I have already make several DVD's,and those went fine, but the latest Imovie project is with spoken audio.
When I try to burn this with IDVD 5.0.1 everything went well till IDVD has come to the audio part, hereby it goes wrong. I didn't get a failure message but nothing happened further on.
Hope someone has a solution!

You will need to be a bit more specific with your problem so we can help you.
What do you mean by 'it goes wrong'? What exactly happens?
You need to know that when your DVD is encoding audio, the process appears to be doing nothing. If you leave it alone for a while, it just may finish. Maybe you are not waiting long enough.
Especially if you don't get an error message. What are you doing? Did you force quit? Did the DVD burn and has an audio problem?
Give us more information!
