Audio Quality Server Side Policy Takes Precdence?

Hello there I was reading the following article:

Where Dollar Wang provided an answer on Audio Quality settings. In his answer he stated that if you are going to set the audio quality it must be set on the server and client sides in order to work. What I am trying to understand what happens if we just
set this on the server side only, or client side only what would be the expected outcomes?
We are hoping to be able to set policies on the server side and essentially force everyone to Medium quality without having to change RDP files; however I don't know if this will work or not.

Thank you for your posting in Windows Server Forum.
The best and probable reason the dollar has suggested to enable audio on both side because, if we enable the audio on one side then we cannot get the desired outcome from server side only as the performance depends from both side. When we are able to take RDP
then RDP client feature for audio quality take precedence with server side effect. So we need to adjust audio setting on both side for remote audio.

Audio quality - also, return policy

The screen issue may be an issue of a defect, so I can hold out hope for that to be right by the time mine ships, but what about the audio quality? Do others find that the sound quality is worse than a 5g iPod? I would hate to find that I disliked the sound of the iPod touch.
In that regard, what is Apple's return policy when the issue is only that you don't like a product? Will they give a full refund in that case? I'd like to keep my preorder in, but if I found the sound quality bothersome I would definitely want to return it for a refund.

regardless of store policy, you my friend are protected by Consumer Law, which supercedes any store policy. Policy is just that, policy... law trumps policy.
Also, a policy is referred (legally) to as "to offer a replacement, refund..." - notice the wording - "offer". Just because they offer it to you, you do not have any legal obligation to accept such a policy/offer.
Trust me, I took my iPod Touch to the 5th Avenue store in NYC this morning, and "their policy" is to not refund when bought with a debit card, as it's similar to cash, and on the back of the receipt it states no refunds over $250.
I referred her to my consumer rights protected by Consumer Law, and hey presto, I got a full refund to my debit card (over $400, the cost of the Touch + taxes).
So, if you're knowledgable, and of course courteous, you'll get back what you want.
The law protects you.

Time out error in MIRO in prd , but takes times to Quality server

Hi all,
In the sap standard transaction MIRO, in Production while executive , time out error is coming in dump, while when i execute the same tranaction in Quality server, It takes 1 hrs time , but transaction is suceesful.
What would be the problem.

Problem in transporting details of wage elements of pe51 to quality server.

Hi Experts.
Here i have added some new wage elements in the windows of pe51 in Development sever.
They have added properly in the Development server.
But when im trying to transport the same to quality server,no details are going to the quality server.
Please provide the way of doing the save function.

Now it s been transported to Quality.
But some values are not adding to the particular window.
In Earings side Statstical net sub to adjumnets amount is not adding to earnings side.
In Deductions-genral window it is not showing the GPF Amount in total coloumn.
In deductions-taxes window it is not adding professional tax amount in total coloumn.
But take home pay is showing up correctly only.
Where should we modify to get the correct payslip.
Please advice.

I need the client copy of production server with application data in quality server. How i do this?
Main purpose is we have no data in quality server in testing purpose. if we configure the client of production server in Quality, we can test it by our requirement.

Preparatory steps in source SAP system
1 Take the trace of control file in the source system using the following command at SQL prompt as below:
SQL>alter database backup controlfile to trace;
The trace file can be found in the location <drive>\Oracle\<SID>\saptrace\usertrace.
2. Open the file with notepad and save a copy as controlsrc.txt
3. Stop the SAP
4 Shutdown the database from SQL prompt.
5. Take backup of database files.
6. Start SAP
Steps in the Target system
7. Install SAP system with <TGTSID>
8. Stop the SAP.
9. Shutdown the database from SQL prompt.
10. Take the backup of database files.
11. Edit controlfilesrc.txt with regard to the locations of datafiles of source system to be placed in target system taking in to account the space available in different drives and save as control.sql. Also SET DATABASE u201C<TGTSID>u201D RESETLOGS.
12. Replace the database files with source systems database files conforming to the control.sql
13. Start the database in nomount state from SQL prompt as below.
SQL>startup nomount
14. Run the control.sql script as follows:
SQL>@@<location of directory>\control.sql.
Once the script runs successfully, the database will be in mount state
15. Open the database with resetlogs option as follow:
SQL>alter database open resetlogs;
16. Create OPS$ users of source system conforming to target system conventions in database.
17 Set the environment variable dbs_ora_schema to SAP<SRCSID> as the owner of the database objects will still be as SAP<SRCSID>..
18. Start SAP.

Audio Quality issues in You Tube

Hi Guys
I am really struggling to work out how to submit my music video to 'You Tube' without severe degradation of audio quality.
V. Happy with the vid. side - H.264 output with optimised parameters on all fronts (debatable I know - but I guess I'm aware of those parameters)
Trouble is the whole point is the music - which just loses it.
The export from origin added to project in Premiere is 24bit, 96khz sample rate - mastered to optimised preference and sounds pretty cool in direct
comparison to random productions from other sources.
(ie: your favourite band music through stereo system (decent speaker output) via CD Rom)
Have attempted all available audio parameters within CS6 to no avail.
Whatever I do - the audio sounds the same ie: diminished
I know 'You Tube' compresses again but how can I avoid this? - Would love to hear from anyone who has had, is having the same issues!!
Suspect that this requires some kind of server side 'pay for' service, I just can't identify where.(or that my master is crap)

You won't even get CD quality sound out of YouTube, let alone anything approaching 24/96 quality. I think you're only avenue for delivering that is DVD-Audio, which never really took off.

Audio Quality help

I use these setting when import my cds to iTunes.
Mp3 encoder
Stereo bit rate:192 and use VBR
sample:Auto
Channels:auto
Stereo mode:joint stereo
Smart encoding:on
Filter frequencies:on
use error correct:on
Thats what I use. I want to learn if that is good. I don't know a lot of sound settings. I'm lead to believe that you can compress down from mp3 to AAC but not the other way around. These are settings that a friend gave to me.
He told me that any stereo bit rate higher than 192 doesn't make much of a difference. But that 192 is a lot better than 128.
You guys have links to some simple good sites that i can learn about file types etc?
I don't really care too much about sapace on my drive. i know mp3 take more room than AAC. just trying to learn some about audio quality.

About the MP3 encoder settings you listed: It may be worth noting that the iTunes MP3 encoder is not among the best MP3 encoders you could use. I don't believe it's been updated in years, while development of LAME continues to flourish, producing better and better results. Also, I've read some listening test results in the past suggesting that the iTunes MP3 encoder is especially bad when used in VBR mode.
On the contrary, the iTunes AAC encoder is stellar, except that it doesn't allow for gapless playback in other players. For this reason, I prefer to use Nero's encoder for AACs on my PC.
Whether or not you care about gapless playback (possible on a Mac with Cog), you still might consider encoding some files with LAME. A great way to do this is to use Max.
A final note is that properly encoded LAME MP3s produce results on par with AAC at the same bit rate, so in the case of LAME, the hype about AAC @128kbps sounding as good or even better than MP3 @160kbps simply isn't true. However, it is true when you do a side-by-side comparison of MP3s and AACs encoded with iTunes.

what is the difference between jsp :include and server side include(request dispatcher include method)????
i understand that both request dispatcher include method and jsp:include take dynamic data,so when would one use request dispatcher include and when jsp:include.
Is the usage interchangeable?i believe jsp include is used only for jsp/html but include directive can be used to include servlets ,jsp and html....correct me if i m wrong and

The difference really is: in what format do you want your inclusions? If your environment has many Java developers and only a few designers that focus mainly on, say, Flash, that might push you more towards the server-side include() directive. Or, if you have a large set of pages that receive dynamic content that is displayed in a consistent fashion (such as a workflow header area on a page).
If, on the other hand, you have more web designers, there may be a greater desire to deal in markup rather than Java code. Java developers themselves might prefer to view markup (JSP) that more resembles the eventual output than something occuring in Java code.
Finally, there are considerations of tiering. While it is totally possible to (and I have previously) implement 'view classes' that render markup or generate layout templates, JSP's offer, IMO, a subtle, psychological advantage. By forcing a developer to work in a different format, markup versus Java source, the separation on view from controller and model becomes a bit easier. It is still possible to make mistakes, but if a developer at some point notices, "Wait, I'm in a JSP, should I be importing a java.sql class?", then the choice to use JSP includes has paid off in spades.

Reappears Missing Server Side Dependencies in Sharepoint Foundation 2013 Health Analyzer

I am a little bit confused why I am getting missing server side dependencies again and again. The missing server side dependencies shows the errors of "MissingSetupFiles". When I click on "Reanalyze Now" button,
the error vanishes from the Health Analyzer page. But after one day it reappears again and shows "Missing Server Side Dependencies", When I again click on "Reanalyze Now" the error of "Missing Server Side Dependencies" goes
away.
But after one or two days, the error comes up again.
Can you please help me why this is happening.

'Screen does not exist' error after transported to Quality server.

I have a report program which is working fine in development server. It is transported to quality server and when executed it throws dump. There is a CALL SCREEN statement in the program and the dump shows screen 1001 does not exists. I checked the program on quality server and when i double clicked on the screen number, it tells screen 1001 does not exist and do you want to create??. I rechecked the program in Development server and confirmed everything is active and have been catched in the transport request. When I checked with the basis guy, he said there was a component conflict error with the request while transporting and he overrided it.
Please tel me what should I do to solve this issue. Its very urgent. Please help.

You seem to have run into some trouble with transports. Did someone perhaps develop this report in the QA server?
I would suggest this:
In SE80. display your report. Then in the hierarchy on the left, right click on your report and select 'write transport entry' . This option will ask you to create a new transport for your report and all objects inside it. Take that transport to the QA server. It should include the entire report, including screens.
If you have trouble importing into the QA server, please provide the transport logs here.

Error getting the server-side naming service functionality

Hi all,
we are currently setting up the CTS+ activity based transport scenario. Everything seems to be working fine, however, we have to import each transport twice...
Before I go into detail in the error we get I will first describe our landscape. All the configuration we did was done in debate with SAP.
We use the SAP Solution manager (ehp1 SP 4) as the CTS+ server as recommended by SAP and have an NWDI system of which we only use the components DTR and CBS (since CMS is not used anymore in the activity based transport). We have defined three logical ports/RFCs. CTSCONFIG points to the NWDI system. CTSDEPLOY is running on the java stack of the solution manager and is only used for portal content (=epa) transports. CTSDEPLOY_DI is pointing to the NWDI system and is used for all NWDI (=dip) changes. The NWDI is running ehp1 SP3.
In STMS I defined all the non-abap systems (and configured them to use CTSDEPLOY_DI) and created the following transport route:
upload system (IMP) -> DEV -> ACC -> QAS -> PRD
I first attached the used dependencies in a transport request (SAP_BUILDT, EP_BUILDT, etc) these imported just fine. Then I did the SCA files which contain our custom code. I extracted these from the assemble step on our current NWDI system which will be removed as soon as we switch to the new CTS+ environment.
When we import the transport into the runtime systems then we see the DTR and CBS be filled sucesfully for this specific system. However, the transport request itself always fails with errorcode 12 and the error is:
Error during export service registration: Error getting the server-side naming service functionality during getInitialContext opera
tion. com.sap.engine.services.jndi.persistent.exceptions.NamingException: Error getting the server-side naming service functionality during getInitialContext operation.
Error in execution of Web services CTSDEPLOY_DI , exception is cx_cts_file_import_failed
File import canceled
When we then reimport the same transport it will go the second time fine. This is no problem during the setup but will not be workable when we go live ofcourse. Is there anyone who had this issue before as well and have a solution for it?

I would need the java trace files to get more info on this issue, but you can start troubleshooting this error with these notes:
#1172252: CTS+, 'attach file': Troubleshooting Guide;
#1003674: Enhancement for non-ABAP systems in CTS;
#1155884: CTS+, configuration 'close coupling': Troubleshooting guide;
Pay special attention to parameter NON_ABAP_WBO_CLIENT, whether it's correctly set on your CTS+ system(s).
Note #1003674 is a must for any CTS+ systems to work properly, as well as having an updated version of the transport programs (tp and R3trans).
Lastly, note #1155884 goes through some JCoException exceptions that commonly take place during CTS+ transports. But again, you need to check the underlying trace files to find the root cause of your issue.

for resolving the above error , pls do the following
1. Login to OS with sidadm user
2. Stop saposcol ( saposcol -k )
3. now login on OS with root user
4. goto exe directory ( /sapmnt/<sid>/exe )
5. Run command chown root:sapsys saposcol
6. Run command chmod 4750 saposcol
7. Login with SIDADM and run command :- sapsocol -l
8. also check folder /usr/sap/tmp exists or not ., if folder already exists then rename file dev_coll.tmp
An if folder /usr/sap/tmp eixits and file is not present there then , simply stop and start SAP.
Now while starting SPA you should not get the error which you were getting previously.

Is it possible to downsize a large image on the server side (before serving it to the user)?

One of the banes of my existence is resizing the same image several times because of the various contexts it appears in. For example, the main image in an article will appear bigger than it will on the index page, where many article teasers are placed. Then there's the image that goes in the Facebook "share" og. Then there's... you get the idea.
Same image, different contexts, lots of Photoshop resizing, lots of files to keep track of... but I save on bandwidth.
On the flip side, I can target the same (large) image and simply downsize via traditional HTML (width/height) on the browser end, but that will mean downloading a file that is 50-75% larger than what is actually needed. If the front page teaser displays a 1280px image at 500px, that's a huge (and potentially costly) waste of bandwidth.
HOWEVER...
If I could do the same thing on the SERVER side... in other words, tell the server to take only the pixels it needs from the (large) image and serve only THOSE to the end user... then the same image could be used in each and every context, and only the necessary bandwidth is used.
Is this do-able? If so, what is the process formally called, and where would I begin to learn how to do it?

That's amazing. I didn't think it was possible without saving files on the server first.
This will suit my needs just fine, but allow me to push my luck even further with the following "hail mary" question : would it be possible for the server to serve the PNG with a width of 100% of the container? In other words, the behavior would mimic width=100% but the server would still only serve as many bytes as are needed to fill that space.
Not only would I not have to create separate files for every resize (we fixed that problem with your suggestion) but I wouldn't even have to customize every link to a specific size.
I'm not expecting an affirmative on this one, but it was worth asking. =)

When playing any audio the audio quality on my Thunderbolt display steadily worsens over an hour period and becomes garbled. Restarting the media player fixes it. Does not occur when MacBook Pro is undocked.

When playing audio/video on my MacBook Pro docked to Thunderbolt display the audio quality steadily worsens until it is garbled beyond understanding. I don't know if it occurs when using the MacBook undocked. It takes about an hour to become noticeable and steadily worsens. Simultaneously when the computer speaks the time this is also gargled. As the problem develops it sounds like there is a static halo around each spoken word.

Create image from byte[]array on server side

Hello everyone..
I'm developing an application which will take snapshots from a mobile device, and send it to my pc via bluetooth. I have my own midlet which uses the phone camera to take the snapshot, i want to transfer that snapshot to my pc.
The snapshot is taken is stored in an array byte.
The image can be created on the phone itself with no problem using : image.createImage(byte[])
my problem is that when i send the array byte via bluetooth, and receive it on the server, i cannot create the image using the :image.createImage() code
The connection is good since i have tested by writing the content of the array in a text file.
Piece of midlet code:
