Audio Randomly Looping

On my timeline on some clips the audio randomly starts looping like a broke record for that clip.
I deleted the .cfa file for that clip. and it starts working again.
any suggestions to fix this for the whole 2 hr timeline no clip by clip.
thanks

Your current thread is concerning your audio problem
with 4-channel .mov files from "...a ZOOM Q2HD".
This thread, and the fix described relates to .aiff audio files.
Two different issues, I'm afraid.

we use to have in the audio loop browser a ton of audio- midi loops the ones with the green icons . did they dissapeared??? I dindt see them
    thanks

No they haven't dissappeared. Maybe you should set the Loop Browser view to "All" to see all the Loops available-if the green loops still don't show up something went wrong during Installation.

  • Loop browser vs the loops in audio apple loops

My number is different in the loop browser. lets say
show all> i hit reset then all drums, the number is less than that that is what in the drum folder i have in the HD.
    same for Guitar and others.
i.e. all the loops i have in the HD are not in the loop browser.
I have all prefs in Loop set to not filter and reset keywords.
is there a shortcut/proper method to show every loop i have in the HD showing in the loop browser.
    I thank you all
and have a nice day making music.

    Ht
an honor to hear from you
and i would hope you have 5 minutes to clarify or atleast add your thoughts here. I am puzzled by this.
I went ahead and bought thousands of loops from third party.
i have 2486 elect guitar loops.
and 349 acoustic guitar loops. filter is off
    they are reindexed.
In the apple loops folder where i store all the loops, i have created folders for each instrument ( as close as i could associate them ).
i have the guitar electric folder ( 2486 loops ) acoustic (349 ) harp etc etc etc. If i type in names they show ( most seem to ) but one cannot memorize names of 10,000 loops. I cant!
so if i go into the lbrowser i am expecting to see in all guitars a number almost equal to about 2800. Now you say time signature will mismatch that. But you see there is a mismatch of about 600 guitar loops!? that doesnt make sense does it? they are residing elsewhere, where i do not know except ofcourse in my meticulous folder Guitar electric on my HD.
    1. Reindexing makes sure that every loop in my HD is in the loop Browser isnt that the case. I dont remember if i dragged all of them over the browser or not.
    2. It seems to me ( and see no other options here ) that if i want to be able to peruse all of my loops and have them accessible i have to have the lib>audio>apple loops>folders of loops open so that i can choose those that are not being brought up in the browser and as you say have time signatures that are different?
how do i then bring up those no shows in the browser if they are not showing up ( acc to you )due to signature problems because they might be usable if edited?
    3. i could check off favorites couldnt I and then have maybe 2000 loops to chose from. Aint this a kick in the ***?
Im trying to organize as best i can what loops i have on the HD
so that i can see them exactly organized and neatly in the browser, but APPLE has made this very very difficult i think.
i appreciate your time thoughts and forgive me for insisting on an answer here which i may not get.

  • GB won't open- This is what I get... Path does not exist: /Library/Audio/Apple Loops Index  st: /Library/Audio/Apple Loops Index w/out this directory you cannot use the Loop Browser

Path does not exist: /Library/Audio/Apple Loops Index  st: /Library/Audio/Apple Loops Index w/out this directory you cannot use the Loop Browser.  Then I get this message...
    Instrument Library Invalid
GarageBand Ecpects a valid instrument foledr in /Libraty/Application Support/GarageBand
Please choose a valid instrument Library folder or quit and re-install GB
    Any solutions?

Is this a new installation of GarageBand or has it worked before on the same computer?
Or have you transferrred your GarageBand from a different computer?
The error message is saying, that your GarageBand installation is incomplete. There are essential foldrs missing in your system library.
Check, if indeed both folders are missing or if only the permissions are set incorrectly.
Your system library (the folder "System" directly on your system drive) should have the following folders inside the folder "Audio", and they need to be readable by the system and by administrators.
And in the folder /Library/Application Support there should be the Instrument Library.
If these folders do not exist (or no longer exist), restore them from your backup-  If your GarageBand version is a new installation, the application may not hve been downloaded or installed completely, then reinstall GarageBand.
What is your GarageBAnd version, and how did you install it originally?

  • Error on start: Path does not exist: /Library/Audio/Apple Loops Index

I get the error "Path does not exist: /Library/Audio/Apple Loops Index
Without this directory you can not use the LoopBrowser. Please make sure this directory exists" when starting Garage Band. I also cannot use the onscreen keyboard, or musical typing in GarageBand. All other sounds work fine.
The only thing that changed since I last used GB was that I installed Leopard. (and that was a while ago, so I thought all was well and got rid of my last Tiger backup. )
    Any suggestions?

  • Iphone4 Audio randomly dropping on apple tv 2 through airplay

both firmwares fo ipone 4 and apple tv 2 are updated.
when use iphone 4 to airplay music on apple tv2, the audio randomly dropping.
but if I airplay youtube content, every thing is fine.
More, if I use macbook pro to airplay music on apple tv, every thing is fine.
dose any one know what is the problem?
    this problem is really annoying.

It's happening to several thousand people (myself included, but I can't even play some of my mp4's on my iphone or apple tv)...Apple doesn't give a rats one....
In fact, they seem to thumb their nose at you and say it's your problem, not their firmware.
    They need to fix it.

Yep, noticed the same. But when you open the Audio Bin with the windows menu (like before) it's there again. It's a pity, that this feature is not yet implemented, used it all the time...

  • Audio randomly cutting off on T410

I have a Thinkpad T410 and the audio randomly shuts on and off all the time. It never cuts off when there are headphones or speakers attached and when it does it can easily be turned on for a short period of time by hitting the volume button - sometimes up and sometimes it has to be the down. This makes me think it is some sort of software and not hardware or short in the computer. I have tried to reinstall all the audio and that doesn't work and have run several performance scans from Lenovo and diagnostic tools and nothing comes up. Any advice?

My speakers will kick back on if I press the mute button, either up or down volume, or click the mute bottom from the sound window.
The Hotkey software is made of the System Interface Drive (1.02)r, the On Screen Display (6.10.01), the Fullscreen Magnifier (2.15), and the Auto Scroll utility(1.0).  I had a spare HD, so I installed it and used my Lenovo recovery disks to get my laptop back to the state from when I first got it. The versions for Hotkey are listed above. On my original HD, I updated to the latest Hotkey software and still had the problem.
I was originally thinking this was a software issue but now am leaning toward a hardware issue. I did have to send this laptop to Lenovo in May 2011 under warranty because the left speaker crackled and went out. It worked fine when it came back up until 3-4 months ago. I've ordered some new speakers from ebay and will install them to see if that fixes the problem. I found lots of hits from "W" thinkpad owners where the left speaker wire was placed on top of the heat sync and was being shorted out, but haven't seen any "T" owners reporting that.
I'll post an update after I replace the speakers.

  • Jmf voip audio problems (loops, delay)

    Hi,
Im here with a lots of audio problems. Im testing a simple voip app.
The system is winxp, sb live , 3 gb ram, celeron 3ghz
    with JAVASOUND:
Loops in sound appear randomly and bad sound quality (i give it up javasound)
    with DSOUND:
Random delays in conversations(0-7secs) but no loops at all and good sound.
Pleople complain about the 0-2 secs delay in DirectAudioRenderer...here i am having 0-7 secs! is just me?!?
    Some interesting things:
I found that the delay is most of the times unidirectional and when the user that DOES NOT HAVE delay makes a mute (stream.stop()) for 5 secs at least, the delay disappears "completely" in the other side!
When the delay is bidirectional, both have to stop the streams (mute) for some time in order to the audio to "synchronize".
Another thing that seams to help minimize variable delay is starting the receiver player about 5 secs after the RealizeCompleteEvent ( the java examples start teh player imediatly)
Could anyone ever confim this behaviour?
If there is any other solution other than messing with the sources i would be preciated!
    Thanks

    >
    > Yes...i see some "?"
I see you making a bunch of declarative statements based on your observations on a system you've not given much technical detail about, and then asking questions that border on being rhetorical.
And I can see a request for a possible solution... You asked for a solution to a problem you're having with an application you didn't remotely talk about how you'd implemented ANYTHING. So how you expect anyone in the world to offer you a solution to your vague babble about 5 to 7 second delays in an application they know nothing about is beyond my comprehension.
Do you think its always required a question to get someone to share some information? I actually walk down the street and crazy people offer to hand me their manifesto, religous people shout out my damnation and/or give me copies of their handouts and religeous texts, I go to a football game and people hand me pamphlets for their political candidate, and I'm often handled fliers with information / meeting times for student organizations on campus. And dude, RSS feeds, man...the RSS feeds just push out information all day long, man. It's amazing! All the information being given to me without asking a single question of anyone / anything...
But yeah, if you want help with something on a coding forum, you'd be better of asking a damned question instead of sharing your observations about what your unposted, undescribed code appears to be doing and expecting someone to share information about where 5 seconds may have came from...
Regardless, I'm going to suggest that a normal program travels significantly closer to the speed of light than your implementation does, and as such, you're experiencing a problem with time dilation. I'd recommend you google around for the special theory of relatively, and make appropriate corrections to your inertial frame of reference. With the amount of information you've presented, that's as good a theory as I can offer.
And I'm officially done with this thread.

  • Audio randomly cuts out for a few seconds

After an hour or more of use, audio on my 160 GB iPod Classic randomly stops for about five seconds, then resumes. This problem doesn't happen often, but will happen two or more times during a couple of hours of play. This problem does not seem to be related to the music that is playing at the time.
I'm wondering if Apple is going to issue a firmware update that might fix this problem.

Unfortunately there's no fix for this problem that plagues Classic since release. Considering that a new generation appeared I guess we have no reason to expect a fix anymore.
I also have the problem and it makes the iPod Classic less desirable to be used as a music player than a generic $10 (no name) usb stick.

  • Audio randomly popping out

I recently aquired a 2012 MacBook Pro (Non-retina). I have my screen (Dell u2410) connected via a mini-displayport to displayport cable. I also run my audio via this cable en have my audio system connected to the displays audio out.
Whenever I play music or watch a movie I get random short cuts of audio. They are shorter than a second and happen at random intervals. I am not quite sure if it has something to do with the quality of the audio (more frequent with flac than 320 mp3) but it is quite annoying. I also want to note that this issue also occours in my bootcamp windows 7 environment.
What's interesting is that I don't have the problem when using the normal audio out jack.
    Any help would be appreciated.

    Try a PRAM reset:
Power off, hold down the keys option, command,P,R, (no commas) power up and press and hold these keys before the grey screen. Hold these keys till you hear the start up time 2 times, then release. Reboot and see if your MBP works better. This is a starting point.
    All the best

  • N8 / Belle / Car BT Audio - random problem with au...

I updated my N8 to Belle when it was first released.  Ever since, I've been experiencing random problems with audio volume and how it is being output from the phone.
I have paired my N8 with my car (2012 Subaru Legacy) which allows me to make phone calls via the car and stream music to the car via BT from the N8.  Everything works fine most of the time, but there are some anomalies.
For example:  In the morning on way to work, I used Music Player to listen to songs in the car.  Later on during lunch break, I made two phone calls from the car.
After work, I turned on Music Player and started listening to songs, but realized that the audio is being played from N8's loudspeaker, and not the car speakers, even though the phone was paired with car BT.
I restarted the application but nothing changed. I then turned-off BT on phone, turned it on again, and this time the audio was still output via the loudspeaker, but I could now see the song details on the car stereo display and skip to next song using car controls.
Another example:  I've also noticed that sometimes after using BT Audio in car, when I later play songs, the volume coming from N8's loudspeaker is maybe at 20% of what it should be and the volume buttons have to control over it.   It seems almost as if the phone still thinks it is connected to car and is letting the car stereo do the amplification.
I tried different settings, but I can't pinpoint any specific cause of this behavior.
Has anyone experienced the same?  Solutions?

For the song details to appear on the screen of car stereo you have to make sure your .MP3s have the ID3 info stored in them.  You can do that with programs like Winamp/MediaMonkey/others.  But I found that only works in my car when it wants to; it is never consistent, and most of the time it doesn't work.  I blame the phone software for that.
As far as sound quality with my BT Audio I couldn't ask for better.  It is very clear.  I have most of my MP3s encoded at 192Kbps; I found the lower rates not to be very clear.  I have not tested FM Transmitter in the Subaru (because BT works so good), but in my previous car it did not work well at all.  It would only work in one spot (under dash in the foot area) and even then it wasn't very clear.

  • Annoying Audio randomly plays on my mac.

Iv had this problem for 2 days now. Randomly some Russian or a similar foreign language of audio plays for 5 seconds then stops. This happens several times with seemingly nothing that triggers it. There might be a time interval between when it plays but it does happen very often, a minimum of 2 to 3 times an hour. I do not know what the problem is. I scanned the computer using iAntivirus and it turned out nothing.
The audio seems to resemble a an english trailer that has been translated to another language. Because while the foreign language is spoken you can hear some english. Sounds like a movie trailer.

Does it continue to occur after you restart the computer, FrizzyHair? No possibility that it is something that has simply been "minimised" from a pop-up add in Safari or the like?
Are your running under OSX or booted in Bootcamp at the time?
If OSX, when you head to System Preferences > Speech and select the "Text to Speech" tab, is "Announce when Alerts are displayed" turned on? If so, turn it off.
No chance that a "friend" has had access to the computer and installed the "Talking Moose" or something similar?
No chance that a "widget" is running in the background that makes announcements from time to time? (there was as situation a while back where people would suddenly find their Macs making noises like an aquarium a while back , because of a "free" widget that had been widely distributed that made such sounds even when the widgets were not on screen)
    Cheers

  • Audio randomly stopped working

The sound on my computer randomly stopped working yesterday. I think it happened when I installed wine, but I'm not sure...I use alsa and it worked before. I tried rebooting a few times and reinstalling alsa, which didn't help. I did unmute in alsamixer, so that should be ok. From lspci:
00:08.0 Audio device: nVidia Corporation MCP79 High Definition Audio (rev b1)
I don't know what other information is necessary, so please tell me what other info would help figure out the problem. I don't see how wine would affect the audio as I had it installed before and the sound worked, I uninstalled for a while to attempt to get rid of left over menu items of uninstalled Windows programs which didnt work but thats not really a problem. I installed Wine again and I have problems this time. I've tried to get sound from my laptop speakers and headphones and through audacious and youtube, and nothing worked. I looked at the alsa page on the wiki, under https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Al … on_Startup but that is only for people who have multiple sound cards, which I don't (as far as I know lol). Audio is fairly important for me (not vital but still... ) so please help. I probably didn't supply enough information, so tell me if there are any log files I should post or something. I looked through /var/log but didn't see any files looked like they would have something to do with sound/alsa. Thanks

No errors, but only the first test, pcm0 worked. Everything else only gave silence. That didn't help really because audacious/youtube doesnt play either. So I guess it isn't alsa specifice, and therefore isn't wine's fault. (I think?)
It is normal that you only get audio from "HD Audio play front" unless you have a 5.1 setup, so oss works as expected.

  • Audio randomly stops working while watching videos

For the past 3-4 days when I've been watching Netflix, Youtube and other video sites, the sound will randomly turn off while the video still plays. I went to preferences and my input and output have the built in internal speakers seleceted and says they work just fine. There is also no light coming from my headphone jack so it is not that problem as well. I have also tried rebooting it. The only solution I have is pausing the video and then playing again, but this only works for a few minuets before it happens again. My macbook pro is running on 10.6.8 if that helps. Any advice is appreciated.

Have you tried playing a sound directly with aplay?
    aplay -D SB /usr/share/sounds/alsa/*.wav
    #or
    aplay -D plug:SB /usr/share/sounds/alsa/*.wav
    Edit:
Do you have any Auto-Mute options on that card? Check alsamixer.
All Automute options have been disabled. Keep in mind that the sound does work for about an hour or two of playing audio, but then just stops. I don't think this is a problem with the card order or selection of the device or anything, but rather a problem with the driver or something like the buffer size which you mentioned. It could also be because of some random program, but that shouldn't be the case since I don't have any unusual audio-related things installed. I have already tried playing sound via aplay, and it does not work. When the sound is fully working, I can play things with aplay just fine without any extra options. When it stops, then aplay doesn't work either.
