What is the best way to convert audio recording to PM3 and play on iWeb web site? I know nothing about this subject. Help please.

I hate iTunes and for quick conversions use the freeware Vox....

  • Playing video from web sites

I keep getting messages staying that I need plugins to play video content from most web sites. When I go to the recomended sites to download the plugin I am unable to open the plugins on my Mac Book Pro. Is there a simple solution for this?

    Quiktime video should work fine.
For windows media, you can download and install Windows Media Player 9, incwhich case Safari will prompt you with a message that it can't play the movie in the browser window, but will ask if you want to play it in a seperate application (i.e window media player). If you answer in the affirmative, Window Media Player 9 will automatically launch and try to play the movie - and fail 50% of the time.
You can also download Flip for Mac, which adds windows media support for Quicktime. Meaning you will be able to play windows media player movies inside quicktime (embedded in web pages). The catch with this is that you have to force Safari to run under "Rosetta" - unless Flip for Mac has released a universal binary in the last few days.
By the way, some people claim that even to get the windows media player solution to work (the one where it launches separately) you also need to set safari to run via Rosetta, but this is not the case.
Long term, your best solution is the Flip 4 Mac add-on for Quicktime, but for now its a little quirky and we will just have to wait for them to update it to run universal.

  • IWeb 3.0.4 problem under Lion X: Why are my movies unable to play after publishing web-site?

No problems with the above running Snow Leopard 10.6.8.  Under Lion, I can place movies during the edit phase, set up quicktime to autoplay, and test it and it plays.  After publishing the site, the movies do not play.  Sometimes a note saying that "a plugin is not available" appears in the movie window.  Could this be a Quicktime problem?  The movies were placed in iWeb using iTunes from the Media Display and are .m4v files edited in iMovie. The web-site works on iMacs running 10.6.8, and on PC's.  Any ideas?  Thanks!

Thanks QTKirk. Tried the web site under firefox 5.0 and the movies played!  Not sure about the DivX extension for Safari.  There is something called 3ivx on my machine that has something to do with Mpeg.  Could you give me the steps to remove this from Safari, assuming that it is the extension you were talking about?  How would I see what extensions are in Safari?  I'm labeling your response with the correct answer to my problem because either way --- I can always use firefox if I can't get Safari straightened out.  Many thanks!

  • Can hearts be played at yahoo web site on a mac

I love playing hearts at the yahoo web site but heard that since it needs a java download, you can't play with it because Macs don't take Java.  True?

    false

  • Audio file converted to MP3

I am using FCP 10.7.5. I recorded some sound bites and then converted them to MP3. They sound great on FCP but like a robot on MP3 or Aiff. Why are they converting so badly? They sound terrible.

Thanks Tom. This was not for a video project. It is for an audio TBT. They requested the file be in MP3. It sounds great in Final Cut and Final Cut Pro 10.7.5 allows you to share these files as an MP3 but once it is converted the file soundslike a robot. Not natural at all. Any idea why? What can i do about it?  I tried having Final Cut save them as an aiff with the same result. I took the aiff  into Itunes hoping it would convert it better. its did not.
    I would appreciate any insight.

  • No Audio when converting a movie from iphoto into iweb.

    Hi there,
I have a Sony Camera W17 which takes stills and short movies. I often grab little bit so film of the kids.
Today it was my daugthers birthday so I am in a hurry to get stuff up on my web page as we have moved to the opposite side of the world to our family.
So heres the problem. When I import the stills and movie I use iphoto and I can see all in there (although the duplicate option is crap for movies).
Now if I import them from the camera into imovie or copy across from iphoto I lose my sound. I really want to use the compressing function in imovie so I can add to my web page via iweb. The problem is that I lose the sound so I resort to copying the file in iphoto and taking it straight to iweb. These files are too large for most people to view.
Has anyone gots any tips as to how I get around this? What is causing the sound to get lost yet I can hear it in iphoto. I read somewhere that says its to do with the file type but I am not sure.
    Thanks for your help.
    Poppetbed.

Are you losing the sound on the movies or the stills?
Can not hear audio in iMovie when I import an MPEG clip

  • Quick time file to be converted for windows media player usage on web site

i have a quicktime file and need to convert it for usage on a website through windows media player. i have final cut and compressor and can convert it to mpeg 1 and 2. is there a recommended codec or tool i should use for the conversion. the file will probably be viewed through a downlaod versus streaming video...if that matters.
    thanks
    dennis
G5   Mac OS X (10.3.7)   i have final cut and compressor sw

Although I dislike MPEG-1 because of the large file size those .mpg files are commonly used on the Web. They can be played by nearly any computer and are not "Player" dependent like WMP or QuickTime so each user can decide how to view them.
As a bonus they are a "playback" format which makes editing and repurposing them a bit more difficult so your media is a bit more "secure".
I'll stick to QuickTime formats (avoiding H.264 video codec) and force QuickTime down their WiMPy throats. Millions of PC's have QuickTime installed (because of iTunes) and others can easily download the free Player and browser plug-in. By avoiding H.264 my files can be viewed on Mac's and PC's that can't install QuickTime 7.

  • Converting MPEG-4 Audio File (Protected) to MP3

New user purchasing tunes for my Lyrica MP3 player using daughters setup for IPod. Tunes downloaded in MPEG-4 audio file format and are 'protected'. When trying to convert to MP3 it won't because of its protected status. How can I convert them? If I already purchased the songs, can I go back and download them again in the MP3 format? Did I just waste my gift card and need to purchase them all again downloading them in MP3 format? Thanks

I too am interested in this answer. I am trying to copy files from my son's Itunes library to his PSP and it will not play protected files.

  • Converting an MP3 to audio book format - How???

    Friends,
I have long recordings of classes that I want to review on my iPod. Is there a way that I can save these as an audio book so that I can save my place between listenings?
    Thank you!!
    P

Just import into a logic session. Then bounce at the specs you require. Logic or Waveburner, iTunes and even Quicktime I think can each do this easily.
A question though. I am assuming you are converting an MP3 to 44.1/16 bit just so you can play the file in a consumer quality CD player?? IF so - that makes sense.
But if you are doing this because you think it will improve the sound quality of your MP3, I will save you some time here. It won't improve the sound quality at all. It will just turn the MP3 into a larger audio file.
44.1/16 bit resolution enables you to have a much better sounding file than MP3 formats, but not by going at it this way.
No offense to you if you know all of this already. I am assuming that you may not know this - because if you did you would also likely know how to convert an audio file.
    Cheers
    Darrell

  • Does my new Pavilion 23 come with software that plays Music CD's and converts to MP3

Well the title says it about all. I have a newer Pavilion 23 A6 VISION AMD
I wanted to play a music CD and have the tunes converted to MP3 on a flash or on my Motorola Xoom. Let's just say a flash drive for now.  What's the procedure?
Do I record them and save them somewhere first and then convert them?  Does the Pavilion 23 come with software that does that? How about Realplayer or Media Player? I also have the Cyberlink Media Suite bundled.

  • Can i convert AIFF audio file into an MP3 file please?

Can i convert AIFF audio file into an MP3 file please? I will be doing this on an imac 2008 model. thank you for help!

Since this is the Logic forum and you may be working in Logic, you dont even need iTunes. To convert Aiff to MP3:
    1 - Go to the Bin>Audio Files
2 - Select the Audio File you want to convert ( and not a region or edit of it)
3 - Go to Audio File next to the Link icon ( Audio - Edit - View ) and down the menu to Copy/Convert.. gives lots of options

  • Audio recording on a flash. recommended to download vlc media player did this. tried to play messages says quicktime does not recognise this format. what to do pleaser

RECIEVED AN AUDIO RECORDING ON A FLASH. PLUGGED IT IN. DOWNLOADED VLC MEDIA PLAYER AS RECOMMEMDED. TRIED TO PLAY.
MESSAGE RECEIVED SAYING QUICKTIME DOES NOT RECOGNISE THIS FORMAT. WHAT TO DO PLEASE.

You could add Perian.  It may help (...or not).
Wait, you received and audio recording and you are trying to use a video player (vlc) to play it?  What kind of file is it?  Does it have a filename extension?  If it is .wmv then you might want to install Flip4Mac.  Then you could play it with QuickTime.

Try running these songs through MP3 Validator to see if there any issues.
If nothing else, convert them to another format such as AAC via iTunes using the instructions in this Apple support document.

  • How to Convert iTunes Songs (Apple lossless audio file) to a MP3 for E-mail

How to Convert iTunes Songs (Apple lossless audio file) to a MP3 for E-mail?
My computer is Windows 7 and my Itunes software version is 1.0.2
    Many thanks in advance...

iTunes 1.0.2 is +at least+ eight years old.
The current version is 9.2, and it's free.
If that was a typo, and you're using something more current:
In the iTunes preferences, change the import settings to mp3.
Then select the songs you wish to convert.
From the "Advanced" menu, choose "Create mp3 version".
When done, change the import settings back to Apple Lossless.
    That's it.
BTW, this is the Logic Pro forum, which has absolutely nothing to do with iTunes.
