Audio render VS Solo playback

Hello.
After I rendered audio effect, such as fade, I cannot monitor the other tracks as solo. When I select "solo" playback to the tracks, I hear the rendered sound from unselected tracks, just the section that have rendered audio.
Weirdly. we have two FCP stations with separated media drives.. It doesn't happen to the other station.
Looks like both has the same setting.
Does anyone know what I am missing????

Thank you for your reply.
What audio setting I have to use to prevent this unwanted marriage audio issue.
I tried to look for the mix/pan setting, but I didn't quite know what I should do.
pls let me know
Thank you.

You can use only one device at a time I Logic. However, in the Audio MIDI Setup utility (Applications>Utilities) you can create an aggregate device, which effectively combines multiple devices into one "virtual" device, which you can then choose in Logics' coreaudio device setup.

  • Audio error message on playback and P Pro CS6 won't stop playback. Have to force quit.

Hello: I'm getting an audio error message on playback and P Pro CS6 won't stop playback. Have to force quit.
Earlier in the project, I would crash when moving audio up/down tracks or up/down time line.
    Any thoughts?
    Thanks,

That screenshot will help us figure out what's going wrong, but I won't have any news until at least July 8 because our offices are shut down next week. In the meantime, two suggestions:
Download CC and see if this crash occurs in the new version.
Google cpp-99 premiere pro audio prefetch. I got several hits, but not dig into them to see if any had a solution or workaround.

  • Audio waveform causing choppy playback

Having issues with nearly all Premiere cc 2014 (8.1) timelines where playback with audio track expanded to show waveform causes bad, choppy playback. As soon as i collapse the audio track playback is perfect. Not very useful when cutting interviews and needing to see waveforms.

Everything's on the internal drive - a 320 gig 7200 rpm WD.  Still has ~120 gigs free.  The thing that's really getting me is that when I unplug the USB audio adapter, the video playback is fine.
There is an external drive for TM backups, but I just unplugged that to see if it was part of the issue and it doesn't seem to change anything.

  • How to Set Left/right audio channel while Video playback

how can I controlling the left / right audio channel while video playback, I can't find any method or class for this in JMF, anyone that can direct me how to do it?

The way I found to control two stereo channel is to implement a plug-in Effect that will control two volumes (left/right) indipandently.
You can start from the example GainEffect from sun, and implement your control.
For eample, if you want to mute the left channel, simply set to 0 all the odd samples (or even...I don't remember exactly, try it).
You have then to add you plug in to the processor chain... again see the examples.
More complex effects (panning etc) can be done in the same way, but it seems to me that it's quite CPU intensive.

  • Video Drive:Audio Render Files is missing

My Final Cut Express was working. Then I took a break and when I went to use it again I had to register the program. Once I figured where the serial number was I get this message...
"video drive:audio render files is missing. I don't know how to rectify this issue.

    Hi David,
figured out the issue. the drive wasn't connected. Once I double checked it. the program fired right up. thanks for your help

  • Audio Render

Am I to understand that it is safe to delete audio render and render files? This will not cause a problem when I go to re-open the project? Just want to be sure.
    Thanks.

Assuming all your original media is still in place, the only "problem" you'll experience is the need to re-create the render files as part of further work on the project.

  • Audio track gone solo?

So, I was just happily editing my movie when my cat ran across the keyboard. From now on, all my audio except the ones in the "narration" track don't play. It's as if my cat pressed something and made just the audio track turn solo. I'm a fairly advanced user on premiere so I tried all the audio mixing options, resetting preferences, checking the files properties, checking the audio gain and so on. I tried restarting premiere as well, but nothing changed. Any ideas of what has happened...? Thanks in advance. Oh, and I should add that if I move other audio to the narrations track, it plays.

Thinking about the Audio issue, we have ruled out a Mute setting in the Audio Mixer, but let's take a quick look on the Timeline, for the "muted" Audio, please. However, I would like to look at the Audio Mixer one more time. This time, play your Timeline, and watch the sliders for all Tracks. Do they all remain at about 0 dB, or do they move, or perhaps remain at a negative setting? The Audio Mixer will show the Track Audio settings, and the dB responses for those Tracks.
Also, looking at one of the Clips, that has no sound, when on certain Tracks, with the Clip Keyframe Display set to Volume, where is the orange line ("rubberband") - the one that runs THROUGH the Clip? Is that Volume line down at the bottom of the Clip, or up at about the 75% position?
This image shows the line, that I am referring to:
While it would be tough to drag that line down (lowering the Volume) with kitty on the keyboard, it's easy to accidently do, if one clicks on certain areas of a Clip.
Now, I think that we will probably rule this out too, as the Volume "rubberband" control would be on a Clip-by-Clip basis, and you seem to have Track issues.
    Just thinking about possibilities.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • Nested = audio render

I have a bunch of short sequences that I lined up into a stack reel for output to tape. So I ended up with one sequence that is comprised of a bunch of short nested sequences.
When I went to ETT, I got a window telling me that it would take 16 hours to render my audio. (This for a 25 minute sequence.)
Needless to say, I canceled the output. I tried various audio presets (mix to 2 channels, split to 4 channels) with the same huge audio render times when trying to go to tape.
I worked around this by un-nesting everything (cmd-dragging the sequences into the stack reel). The ETT worked like it always does with no audio render.
My question: what was causing the huge audio render times, and how can I avoid this in the future?
All sequence were Uncompressed 8 bit and no sequence had more than 4 channels of audio.

how can I avoid this in the future? seems like you already discovered a suitable workflow, ie sequence content rather than nests.
alternatively, it seems to me that the nesting is causing the Real-time audio mixing buffer to overflow, so you might try increasing that number in your FCP > User Preferences, and see if that helps
i'm guessing it is calculated such that each track in the master edit is a sum of all the tracks in the nest, do if you are doing a 4 channel output in both master and nests then that is equivalent to 16 tracks of audio
    hope that helps
    cheers
    Andy

  • The audio track beeps on playback...

The audio track beeps on playback, however when I scroll I can here the dialogue.  What's the issue?

Your audio is an MP3.  FCP doesn't work with them.  Convert to AIFF 48kHz/16 Bit.  You can do this in Compressor, QT or iTunes.

  • Unbelievably slow audio render times!

I've been dealing with his for a while now on this documentary I've been working on. When I export my timeline which is right around an hour, it takes around 2 HOURS just to render audio previews before it will export! The bulk of my timeline is a single track with no effects at all. Video renders faster than the audio! The only thing unusual about my project is it is largely composed of longish multi-cam sequences - about 30 sequences ranging from 30 mins to 90 mins. It's appears PP is rendering audio for every bit of my source sequences even though only a few seconds or minutes of each one is actually being used. I don't know what else could be happening.
I was thinking that since some of the audio was recorded at 44.1K maybe that was a problem and some of the sequences had several tracks of audio so to solve this I went through every sequence and rendered out a stereo mix at 48/16 and deleted the old audio. That seemed to help for a while as with CS6 I was getting a very annoying "rendering required audio files" message every time I hit play until I rendered the audio which as I said takes a really long time. Also I can render this but if I close Premiere and re-open I have to render it all over again. It is not keeping the audio render files. Premiere CC is better about playing back without the render message but it still needs to render for export. I have no idea why it would need to render audio from 48/16 source files.
I have reported this to Adobe but just thought I'd put this here to see if anybody else is having issues. If any audio rendering should ever be required in this day and age it should be extremely fast. This problem has really brought exporting to a crawl for this project.
Adobe CC, OSX 10.8.4 on a 12 core Mac Pro with a GTX 570 32GB ram, and BM Studio. My RAID is a 3 disk internal raid with 3 3TB disks in RAID 0. The video renders reload properly. The situation would be better if the audio renders reloaded at least but why it needs to render "audio previews" for such simple audio is beyond me. And as I mentioned I went through quite a bit of trouble to make it as easy on Premiere as possible by replacing all of the 44.1 audio with 48/16 wavs.

Let me start by saying I am only a hobbyist and do this more for my son and niece since they are musicians and play live in a number of venues.  I am not an electrical or audio engineer (I am an aeronautical engineer) so what I am about to say is based only on what seems logical to me…  First rendering audio should simply be faster than rendering video given the amount of digital data that needs to be processed.  That stated, I know that the Mercury engine using CUDA to process video vastly speeds the rendering of video.  Regardless, using today’s CPUs (i7 3930K in my case) should and does more than make up for the additional processing power for rendering video using CUDA.
It seems to me that there is a bigger problem than whether or not we are flattening, nesting or locking our tracks.  It shouldn’t take as long as it is taking for some of us to render audio!!!
I only experienced this problem one time.  I am not even sure what I did to change the outcome on the same project that I have since edited and rendered many times.  But now the audio renders very quickly (less than a minute).  I will say that in almost all cases my music videos have different audio sources (44.1KHz, 48KHz 16bit, 48KHz 24bit, and 96KHz 24bit) and that I set all my sequences to 96KHz since my master audio sources are recorded at that.  I use an external firewire RME Fireface 800 using RME ASIO divers to handle all audio.  I do find that this setup can be stubborn in that there are times PPro CC doesn’t know what to do regarding my audio so simply won’t allow me to play any track.  When this happens I simply remind PPro CC of my settings by going to Edit/Preferences/Audio Hardware then check that the Adobe Desktop Audio is set to ASIO FireFace and click on ASIO Settings to check that the buffer size and sample rate are correct.  If they are not I read the flash from the RME and all is good.
But I diverge, there is a problem Adobe and it needs to be fixed.  This never happened to me using CS6…

  • Audio Render Problems Again

I'm having problem again rendering a one hour presentation. If I use Command/R, the dialog box indicates seven or more days. If I highlight the selection I get essentially the same estimated time.
Command/R usually works, but not this time. Audio For Playback is checked.
The DV timeline plays in Quick Time OK.
I desperately need to get this video sent out! I even deleted preferences using the "Preference Manager" program.
    David

All of my lecture video series are recorded in LP 16 bit audio. Each lecture is between 1 to 1.5 hr in length. I have successfully completed 10 of the 23.
Each lecture is sent to iMovie HD and then the timeline.mov is placed into FCE. One other time the timeline audio would not render, so I converted it to DV via MPEG Stream Clip and placed it back into FCE. The lecture I'm having trouble with is #11.
As mentioned, usually Command-R will do the trick in 10 minutes or so, not 6 to 10 days.

  • Random Audio Render--deleted audio reappearing

When I adjust audio (i.e. change levels, in and out points, effects) on a section of audio that has already been rendered it oftentimes will not adjustment appropriately. It is like FCP uses the old rendered audio information and mashes it with the new. Sometimes the results are random bits of audio that pop in where they are not supposed to be--sometimes I have deleted the audio files from all tracks entirely and FCP still plays the audio like it is there.
I have had this problem for quite a while. I've deleted every render file on my computer, started new sequences, etc. This is clearly a bug--anyone found a fix?

maybe it has something to do with checking the render menu audio selections (for playback) or (item level)?

  • Audio dropping out during playback in timeline

    Hey everyone,
I've dug through these forums and unless I just completely overlooked it I have not found a solution to this issue. I've listed my setup below and then have stated the issue I'm experiencing.
    27-inch, Mid 2011 iMac
    3.4 GHz Intel Core i7
    16GB 1333 MHz DDR3
    AMD Radeon HD 6970 1024MB
    Running Mac OS X Lion 10.7.5 (11G63)
    Currently working off of a portable 1TB G-Technology G-DRIVE via FW800.
Working in Premiere Pro CS6 Version 6.0.2
Editing in a sequence with settings:
    1920 x 1080 23.976fps (also tried in a 29.97fps timeline with same issue)
Working with footage that is 23.98fps
Working with a combination of ProRes 422 (LT) and native H.264 Quicktime files strait from a 5D Mark 3.
The issue I'm having is during playback the audio will competely drop out. The video will continue playing on just fine but the audio drops completely out. All audio levels drop as well in the audio mixer meters so it truly is losing all communication with my audio layers in the timeline.
I read in other forums to go into Finder and delete out the .caf files, re open Premiere Pro, wait for them to be recreated then carry on. I tried this approach with no luck. Deleting the .caf did not change anything. Audio is still dropping out as I try to play through my timeline. The only way to get the audio back is to pause then press play again. I have 5 total channels of audio with only 2 of those channel active.
Any ideas on what is happening would be greatly appreciated. This is incredibly frustrating have to export out a video just to be able to watch it through.

Having this annoying problem also.  Using the Space Bar to play timeline it takes pressing and holding to a count of three or trying press play three time in a row using the space bar to get ungarbled audio, or any audio at all in a normal uncomplicated sequence on the timeline.
Really annoying.  Audio used to be so simple and untaxing to a sequence.
