AUDIO SERVICE IS NOT RUNNING

Hi there
I need help with my PC....I muted the sound yesterday and now I want to unmute it the message that says the audio is not running pops up. Ive tried everything but nothing works, What should I do
Please help

You have muted sound and now unable to unmute error says services not running
There is an issue you have stopped services of windows audio from task manager.
There is simple way to get audio back just open control panel and search for troubleshoot and select hardware and sound troubleshooter then choose playback sound.(This process take 2-3 minutes and you have to connected to internet if any major problem in driver it will repair from internet for you )
If this will not work you have to downlaod and install latest audio drivers for your system from hp download center.

Yeah as the title says..my audio isn't working it tells me "The audio service is not running"..in my headphones no sound even on my speakers..What will I do? I went to the service button and when I did start to windows audio it told me "Windows
could not start the windows audio service on local computer Error 1068:The dependency service or group failed to start.

    Hi,
Find the related services and start them:
    1. Click Start, type Services.msc in the Start Search box.
    2. Scroll down the list of services, right-click Windows Audio
    and select Start.
    3. Select Properties for Windows Audio and set its Startup Type
    to Automatic.
If the Windows Audio service does not start and you still get the error
Error 1068: The dependency service or group failed to start, then make sure that the following services are started and their
Startup Type is set to Automatic.

    •Multimedia Class Scheduler

  • The Audio Service is not running when I open certain programs

My audio works fine when I boot my computer.  However, any time I got to click on the speaker icon at the bottom right the audio service stops running.  When I use the system.msc fix that is very common on the web by the time I open the panel the
audio has already realized that it is running and starts running again.  If I open razer comms, it stop working again and I either can open system.msc to fix it, or I can just click the speaker icon to fix it.  When I open a game, like FFXIV it stop
working again, click the speaker and all the sudden it turns back on.
I have read every thread I can find on the web about the "Audio is not running" issue but no one seems to have had this exact problem and I don't know how to fix it.
For the love of god help

    Hi,
By saying the audio service us not working, do you mean the speaker icon show an red "X" ?
Please take a check with the following KB article:
In Windows 7 a red 'X' may appear over the speaker icon in the notification area even though audio output functions correctly
If this is the issue, then this behavior is cosmetic in nature and does not affect the performance of Windows.

  • Windows 7 professional - one or more audio services are not running

I have a windows 7 professional laptop. The audio stopped working suddenly. When i click on the audio icon (with a red x on it) the system tried to troubleshoot the problem. This is the error i see in the troubleshooter.
One or more audio services isn't is running
I tried to start the windows audio, windows audio endpoint builder. Neither of them started but gave some error.
When i tried to restore to a previous version i got an error message that there are some bad sectors on the C drive but could not run the checkdsk on that drive. Instead windows offered me to run it at next reboot. I did multiple reboots but the chkdsk never
    ran.
I am don't have a windows reinstall disk. Can somebody point me where i can get the windows OS to reinstall it?

  • The audio service is not working/running.

    Hi,

AVG did a system restore, tried starting windows audio in computer management and updated and restarted my laptop numerous times but to no avail. I would very much appreciate it if you could help me out with this matter ASAP.

  • Windows Audio Services will not start

The sound on my HP Presario stopped working. Diagnostics said it was because the Windows Audio Services was not running. When I go to the Microsoft Management Console and try to start it again, I get Error 1068 - The dependency group failed to start. Any suggestions?

    Hi Mziggi,
You may want to try installing the latest audio driver for your PC directly from the original device manufacturer. I'm not sure what your exact model number is (SR5000) is the series, but of the SR5000's that I've looked up they tend to have the Realtek High Definition Audio. If this is true for your PC (and I think it is), here is a link to the Realtek download site:
    http://152.104.125.41/downloads/
Just select "High Definition Audio Codecs", select the agreement, and then download and install the driver for your operating system.
I hope this helps. Let us know how it goes.

  • Audio Service is not Working.

    HI everybody,
So today i just turned my pc on after a few days and noticed that there was RED CROSS "X" on my volume icon. It says that Audio Service is not working. i opened services(service.msc) searched for it and when i tried to start
it gives me this ERROR! I searched for solutions over the net as well as here. Recommendations that i found were
    >Reinstall the drivers
    >Unisntall drivers from Device Manager and then reinstall.  (WHEN I TREID TO INSTALL DRIVERS IT GAVE ME ERROR THAT "AUDIO SERICE IS NOT RUNNING AND COULDNT BE STARTED" )
    >Run "RPC" service and "Endpoint service". Currently both are running !
Last but not least, u must be thinking that why i posted such a big post, this is because others problems were solved and issue was also a bit different. :D
(I tried to post two images but the site said that u are not allowed to post images and links!)
Thank you all in advance, and please help me quick to solve this problem. I cant play games without sound for long ! :"(

    Hi
Are you installing new drivers downloaded from the manufacturer website or letting windows install it for you?
Try disabling the sound card in the bios, reboot and then enable it again, reboot and see what windows does.
Can you also run a sfc scan and see if there are any corrupted files?
Hope this helps. Please remember to click “Mark as Answer” on the post that helps you, and to click “Unmark as Answer” if a marked post does not actually answer your question. This can be beneficial to other community members reading the thread.

  • Windows audio service is not enable

windows audio service not enable, when i try to enable it, error1068 the dependency service or group failed to start and 1059 cercular dependency service specified are displayed

    Quote from irfan H
The error message indicates that the Audio service is failing to start on your computer.
You can try the below methods to fix this issue:
    Method 1:
Run Audio troubleshooter that will automatically diagnose and fix any audio issues. You can refer this article to run Audio troubleshooter:
    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Open-the-Playing-Audio-troubleshooter
    Method 2:
    Check the services manually.
I suggest that you check if the dependency services are started and check if you have the same issue.
    a.     Click Start, type Services.msc in the Start Search box.
    b.     Scroll down the list of services, right-click Windows Audio and select Start.
    c.       Select Properties for Windows Audio and set its Startup Type to Automatic.
If the Windows Audio service does not start and you get the error ‘Error 1068: The dependency service or group failed to start, then make sure that the following services are started and their Startup Type is set to Automatic’
    a.     Plug and Play
    b.     Multimedia Class Scheduler
    c.      Windows Audio Endpoint Builder
    Method 3:
If the dependency services are not starting, you can uninstall and reinstall the Audio drivers. This will reset all the Audio components on your computer.
To uninstall a device with Device Manager:
    a.     Click on start and type devmgmt.msc
    b.     In Device Manager's left panel, open the node that represents. You should be able to find the Audio device under the Sound, Audio and Game controller. Uninstall and then right-click the device entry.
    c.      On the shortcut menu, click Uninstall.
    d.     On the Confirm Device Removal dialog box, click OK to start the uninstall process.
Once you uninstall the device, install the latest drivers by downloading it from the manufacturers’ website (Realtek).
Note:Make sure that you have the source to install the Audio drivers before you install it. Also create a System restore point before uninstalling the device.

  • OSB sbconsole "Test Console" service is not running

    Hi all,
A problem in the osb domain sbconsole I am facing during testing of proxy/business services. When clicking on the "Launch Test Console" icon I got following error:
    Error Accessing Test Configuration
"Test Console" service is not running. Contact administrator to start this service.
I have checked the test-console flag as true in ALSBdebug.xml file in all admin and managed servers. Still I am not able to test the service through sbconsole. All the servers are in OK state
    Please help.

Cluster address should be comma-separated address of managed servers. For e.g. - If managed_server1 is listening on host:8011 and managed_server2 is listening on host:8013 then cluster address should be like host:8011,host:8013

  • Report Subscription by email error - The SQL Agent service is not running

    Hello All,
This may be an easy answer, so please excuse my ignorance if I am overlooking something simple. I a simply trying to setup Report Subscriptions to be emailed to me. We currently have essentially 3 servers in use in our environment - a CAS, a Site server
    and a SQL 2012.
I have configured the email settings in Reporting Services Configuration Manager on the Site server and was finally able to see the email option in the Create Subscription Wizard, but it errors out with:
System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapException: The SQL Agent service is not running. This operation requires the SQL Agent service. ---> Microsoft.ReportingServices.Diagnostics.Utilities.SchedulerNotRespondingException: The SQL Agent service is not running.
This operation requires the SQL Agent service.   at Microsoft.ReportingServices.Library.ReportingService2005Impl.CreateSubscription(String Report, ExtensionSettings ExtensionSettings, Boolean isDataDriven, DataRetrievalPlan DataRetrievalPlan, String

ExtensionSettings, String Description, String EventType, String MatchData, ParameterValue[] Parameters, String& SubscriptionID)
We do not have SQL installed locally, therefore it makes sense that the Agent service is not running. How do I subscribe to alerts in SCCM without a local installation of SQL?
    -Brad

I am positive - see screenshots below of services on the SQL server:
Yes, reports work perfectly otherwise... Just cannot subscribe.

I'm not sure but since it's saying there's a library issue, you could try running:
    # ldconfig
Failing that you could try a:
    # pacman -Rns slim
    # pacman -Syu slim
I tried both "ldconfig" and "pacman -XXX", but the problem is still there.
Maybe I need use another way to recompile slim in my machine.
But I have no time to test it now, I will try it another day.
