Audio Settings for PVR

I have the TV@nywhere product, and it all works well under XP (after removing SP1) except for one thing...
When I pause live video and try to use the time shift feature it mutes the line in on my sound card.  Muting the line in causes it to stop recording audio, so non-live video has no audio.
I can manually un-mute the line-in, but then I get doubled up audio with the live feed over the recorded feed.
I'm using a Creative Labs Audigy card (OEM).  Does anyone have any tips on how to configure the card/software so that I can use the time shifting feature?
Thanks in advance!

Thanks Tim T!
After I unmute the line in, which level should I turn down?  If I turn down the level on the line in it still doesn't record audio...  It records the audio at the level set in the mixer.  If I turn down the audio in the application it kills the recorded audio and leaves me with only the live audio.
Still, thanks for trying buddy!  Let me know if I just mis-understood!

  • Audio Settings for Premiere CS6

Hi, I currently run a Mac Pro with a 27 inch Apple Monitor with built in camera.  The machine is also running Mountain Lion 10.8.5.  Could someone give me some clarification as to why the Audio Settings for Premiere CS6 are the way they are?
Example with a Macbook Pro and an iMac when I plug in a headphone I can get the sounds from Premiere pro as well as something from youtube to the headphones.  However in the case of the Mac Pro with the Apple Monitor, when the headphones are plugged in the youtube sounds come through but the Premiere sounds go through the monitor.  I'm aware of the audio settings but I suspect this is working by design because of the different audio options the Mac Pro have and there is nothing broken about this.
    Please advise.
    Thank you.

I've always found this a bit annoying.
The intended behaviour is that if you go into Premiere's audio settings, and choose "System Default Input/Output", it should change along with the system (so that the audio comes out wherever YouTube does). In practice, I've found this to be inconsistent in pre-CC versions of Premiere (CC fixes this).
One tip that may be helpful for you in general on a Mac Pro:
    1. If you don't already have the volume icon in the menu bar (by the clock), enable that in System Preferences > Sound.
    2. Option-click on the icon and you'll get a quick menu of your output options

  • Output to XDCAM HD - Audio Settings for Final Sequence?

    Hi,
If the approval gods are smiling, it'll be time to export several programs back to disc for a client in the next week or so. The original clips and the sequence are all at XDCAM HD 1080i60, 35Mbs VBR. I've ingested using Sony PDZ file transfer with a PDW-F75 deck, and everything looks/sounds great on approval QTs so far.
My question is on the audio settings for the final sequence on to XDCAM disc. I've got 2 tracks of talent audio, 2 of nat sound and 4 of music. If I understand the FCP manual correctly, I have to select 4 mono track outputs when doing a file transfer export of the sequence. What settings do I need to choose so that the mix I hear when I play back my sequence in studio is what anyone down the line will hear when they play back the final sequence I've exported to XDCAM disc? That is, if I've got 8 active tracks, what happens to them with the 4 mono track setting? Thanks very much for any suggestions and advice.

Agree that the HDV downconvert in the camera is optimal.. but the darn print to video needs to work reliably to GET the hdv material back to the camera
i still have to use iMovie to get my files back to the camera in HDV...

  • Dolby audio settings for Lumia 520

As every nokia Lumia windows phone 8 device has a Dolby audio settings with a equalizer in the settings menu, there are presets and a
custom one. This is not available in Lumia 520. This is utter discrimination, just because it is a low end Lumia device. If Nokia didn't want to give us Dolby audio settings, then why show a audio menu like in other devices and when we open its blank. This is teasing us. They shouldn't have put the audio settings in the settings menu for Lumia 520. Firmware. This is very bad nokia. Either update the firmware by removing audio from the settings or just give Lumia 520 users a equalizer. All the devices have the same chipset 520,720,620. A qualcom msm8227 with 2 krait cores and same adreno 305 gpu. But 520 doesn't have the equalizer , the other devices do have it. I expect a. Prompt reply. Nokia.

I am so disappointed with the way this lumia 520 turned out to be. There is no speed dial function, when even typing the numbers you have to type it,fully without the phone giving suggestions. There is no means to go forwards when using internet explorer, and you cannot set personal ringtones unless you use a computer or an app that does that. It is so messed up and uncool. I just hope all these are corrected in the amber update, speaking of which we don't even know when it would be released.

  • Audio settings for airplay mirroring

I am using MBP late 2011 mountain lion OS x and just started using the 2nd generation of apple TV and the airplay mirroring work just fine but what I want to know is how make the audio only from the mac and not the TV when I play a video and have only the video playing on the TV so I can use the earphones on the mac?

  • Audio Settings for Premiere Pro CS4 during capture

During some other discussions regarding audio challenges with PP CS4 someone pointed out that if you analyze a file with G spot it should be in WAV format. I did this and I see my footage is showing PCM Audio at 48000Hz 1536 kb/s tot (2 chnls). Based on the fact that I record SD footage (audio selected to 16 bit 48k) onto a Mini DV tape on a DVX 100B and export via Firewire into PP CS4 does that sound right?
In the Preferences window I have Premiere Pro WDM Sound selected as the default device (Adobe default windows sound and creative ASIO are the other options) . The input and output in Audio Hardware Settings has the Buffer size sliding bar at about 25% across from the left and the Device 32-bit playback is unchecked.
I am just worried about what my dialog will sound like by the time it is edited in PP and send to Encore to export to DVD.
Thanks for any input you can offer.
    Cole

GSpot should have shown the audio as WAV not PCM.
These are two different things.  WAV is a computer file format for audio files, much like TXT is a format for text files or EXE is a format for executable files (programs).  This is just the specifications for the file formatting on the hard drive.  It applies to audio only files.  Those which contain both audio and video will not be WAV files.
PCM (Pulse Code Modulation) is a method of encoding analog audio, turning it into a digital signal.  This applies to both computers and separate components (CD players, DAWs, most cameras).  It is the codec CDs use.  It is also the standard for DV.  Even most WAV files contain PCM audio.

  • IMovie audio settings for FCP?

    Hi there
I have had this question for a while, and never got to post it.
I often import my footage using iMovie, mainly because it is easier and lets me do a quick edit quite simply. When I then bring those clips into FCP I always need to render the audio. Does anyone know if there is a setting either in iMovie or FCP to avoid this?
    thanks
    Hannes

    Hi Michael
Just as an update/conclusion, I tested it and both FCP and iMovie are pleased – no more rendering of the audio in the timeline. I now have an Automator workflow exporting all my .dv files to .mov, so soon I will be back on track.
    Thanks for your helpful answer

  • Best audio settings for DV6 2060EA

The sound is good , as I havent adjusted the IDT control panel, just wondered if it could be made better ? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

Have the same laptop and sound is not bad. If you would like a better sound so use some external speakers. The internal speakers are designed only for a basic usage, not for High Definition. To get a good sound performance you need to use powerful external speakers..
edit: To get some sound settings go to:
Start-Control Panel-Hardware and Sound-Change system sounds-click on Speakers and Dual Headphones, choose properties-Enhancement and Advanced. There you can get some changes..
edit2: I use default settings because it seems to be the best sound..

  • Copy master audio settings?

So... I've set up an HD sequence, and spent ages creating the master audio settings for all the audio tracks.
Then I realise that I want a smaller sequence so I can zoom into some of the footage.
I can't change the sequence settings to a different size.
So can I copy the master audio settings from one sequence to another?
    Many thanks, Linda

I have the same question - is there any way to copy the "Master" track's curves?

  • Does anyone know their way around the audio settings and audio cables?

I need some help setting up some audio settings for my Ps4 in a weird way. What I want to do is what CBarner89 does on twitch. If you havnt seen him stream from his Ps4 he has his decks hooked up to his stream directly channeling the audio in to the stream. I asked around on the stream about how to do it the only reply I've had is that I should plug the RCA connection from my decks in to my controller with the aux input. Howerever when I do this there is no option in the audio settings to set the input to come from my decks. But when I plug in a pair of headphones I have that also have a mic for answering calls the option to set it my controller as an audio input is highlighted. And then I can set my controller as the main audio input.  I noticed that on the RCA cables I have for my decks have 2 black lines on the actual gold part that you insert and my headphones that have a mic has 3 black lines is this something to do with it?

Unfortunately I could get neither of these to work, probably because of my own ineptitude.
I couldn't get VLC to output from Spotify, this could be my own fault.
I also couldn't make Airplay play with OS X 10.3.9.
I did however find a messy workaround.
I am currently using Airfoil on my main Desktop to output Spotify and then am receiving it on Airfoil Speaker on my iPhone, which is in turn connected to my 10.3.9 iMacs audio input via a 3.5mm Jack.
You need to download an app called LineIn for 10.3 (http://www.rogueamoeba.com/legacy/) to play the sound from the input from the built in speakers.
To be fair it's not that messy it just requires you to have a device that can have Airfoil Speakers installed on it and have a 3.5mm Jack.

Yes this is pretty rubbish, I have a presentation that we use to run the whole of an 'Oscars' like ceremony for our company which is attended by over 200 branches and hundreds of people, we use animated backgrounds which loop and look really professional, but due to lag and pauses while the next slide loads we have layered these one on top of another in a single master slide, after the first fixed animation runs it fade mixes through to the looping slide beneath it which looks great and means there is no lag in music or movie animation.
Now that they have removed animation from the master slides this doesn't work any more so we have had to restore back to the old version of keynote and all works like a dream again, how silly is it when upgrades end up as downgrades!
Thank goodness I had plenty of backups or this would have been a disaster as our conference apporaches in March!

  • Audio Settings are ignored on export to SWF in Captivate 4. Advice?

Background: Project is a 1-hour, spoken-word PowerPoint slide presentation, about 60 slides, about 1 min each. Audio has been split into one CD-quality, mono .wav file for import to each slide. All clips are excerpts from the same, full-length .wav file. Nothing fancy, no captions, animations, etc. Just one dog and one pony in this show. Using fully updated version of Captivate 4.
Problem: Upon export to SWF, any changes I make to the audio quality settings do not take. That is, I still get a huge SWF file with full CD quality sound. SWF file size is ~47MB. Should be closer to ~25MB or even less at my target quality of 11kHz, 24kbps.
What I've tried: I have adjusted both the Audio Settings for the project, as well as the SWF Size and Quality settings (in the Preferences dialog box, Project category) by alternately selecting "Low" or unchecking the "Retain slide quality settings" box, then synchronizing the settings with the settings in the Audio Settings. I have also tried selecting and unselecting all SWF compression options.
I have tested this on two computers, one XP Pro, the other Vista Home Premium 64-bit. Both Captivate installations are fully updated. Same results on both.
Things that make me go "Hmm": I can create a Captivate project with one slide as a test and achieve full flexibility of audio kHz and kbps upon export to SWF; that is, it works just like I want. However, as soon as I add a second slide, my export quality reverts to full CD-quality. I've even tried this with an extremely simple project with no PowerPoint slide, no skin, just blank white slides. So, I do not think it is an issue connected to some other aspect of the project in question.
So... Is this a bug? The odd thing is that this process has worked in the past. It seems that it has suddenly become a problem. If it were on only one computer, I would reinstall, but given the same outcome on two very different computers, it seems very unlikely that the same quirk has materialized in both.
    Advice? Thanks. -Steve

    Hi Steve,
This is a long shot, but you could try copying and pasting all of your slides into a new instance of Captivate. If you have specified certain audio settings Captivate should pick these up when you export. If not then it is possible that your CP file has become corrupted.
If that doesn't work, please file a bug report using the web address I have included below.
Adobe Captivate Feature Request/Bug Report Form
It would be interesting to see if the CP team can shed any light on why this is happening.

Even without an explanation, I would imagine you could use
    the disabled
version in cases were the button is ... disabled. ;) If
    you're using the
button in a slideshow, for example, and you reach the end of
    the show, you
might disable the "next" button, if you don't want the thing
    to loop again
    to the beginning.

You need to assign at least one event handler. Check out the
    "MovieClip
class" entry of the ActionScript 2.0 Language Reference and
    you'll see all
the events available to any movie clip instance.

Not sure I get what that means. I *think* so, but not sure.
Anyway, you've left us on a cliffhanger. How does the author
    suggest you
assign event handlers? If your movie clip has an instance
    name, you may use
that name and reference any of the MovieClip events. Assign
    whichever you
    please a function:
    myClip.onPress = function() {...}
    myClip.onRelease = function() {...}
Or, you can do it the old fashioned way -- not the currently
    recommended
best practice -- and use an on() or onClipEvent() function.
    In this case,
your movie clips wouldn't need instance names. Click the
    movie clip itself
and attach the code directly to the clip via the Actions
    panel.
