Audio Sliders on dv8t

Out of no where the Bass slider shows up on my screen with no contact any near where the sliders are! Also does it when in Treble mode. I tried wiping it off! Even with no media playing also! 2 week old dv8, windows 7 premium, all HP & windows updates I can find installed! Any Ideas?

Please see the above post for a possible solution from me. That's bizarre that it just started doing it out of the blue. I have the exact same laptop, I hope mine doesn't start doing this. (touch wood)
I wonder if it's related to an update that came in from Microsoft. A new update can cause software conflicts with application files in a computer. It also may be conflicting with an HP update to one of the drivers in the laptop.
I have my update manager set up manually. The updates come in and I pick the ones that I want and when something strange starts to happen I can go back to an earlier date in the recovery manager when the laptop was working properly and restore the laptop to a point where it was working. Then I note what has changed in the update file and I can assume that it was the problem.
The people in the other post are convinced that the hardware is at fault and not the software, but if all else fails you can disable the driver from "msconfig" or just uninstall it from "programs and features" in the control manager. You can always reinstall it from "SwSetup" in drive "C". The offending softare is simply labeled "HP tone control".

No sound in PE 7

I have no sound while working with video or .wma files. My audio meter shows sounds, but noting out my speakers. I search the forums and tried everything that I can find in them to no success. I have also tried reinstalling and that didn't correct the problem either. I can export to .flv and have sound just not when I am trying to edit clips. Here is are links that I tried with no success:

There are others that I tried and nothing seems to work. I have 2 computers that I have tried to get sound to work and neither one works with PE 7; however, both work with other applications and music cdroms. My first computer is HP with AMD quad-core 9850 processor 2.5 ghz with 8 Gig of RAM running Vista.
The second computer is Compaq with pentium 4 processor 2,4 ghz with 2 gigs ram running XP
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

It is only me popping in with some comments other than ASIO settings and updating drivers and resources.....
Are you saying that you do not get sound while in the Edit Mode of the program editing .wmv and other video, but, if you export the Timeline, you do get audio in the end product, be it a DVD-VIDEO or Personal Computer exports such a DV AVI, MPEG, Windows Media, or Quicktime?

When you find yourself on the Timeline with no sound for a .wmv, what happens if you render the timeline by pressing the Enter Key of the computer main keyboard? Is the sound there after this type of Rendering?
When I have a .wma file (and the same thing happens when I have a video hile in Timeline) and press the enter key there is no sound and all it does is starts the wma file or video over again.

1. When you are in the Mix Audio and are looking at the audio levels, are you interpreting 0 dB as the sound of the original video rather than zero sound?

2. Whether or not you have been working in the Sceneline View, have you check the audio sliders next to the Filmstrip, Narration, and Soundtrack to make sure that they are set properly? Click next to each to make the slider visible...can impact Timeline sound unknowingly.
I have checked them and moved them with no results.
3. You said that the audio worked OK recently. Have you had System Restore ON and have you considered a System Restore to a Restore Point when you know the audio was working?
I had to correct that statement. I don't remember if I had sound or not, but the only thing different from then is PE 7 updates.

A/V controls disabled QT

No. The A/V adjustments are not a permanent setting and are file by file.
The only way to adjust the volume of a streaming file (outside of system sound settings) is to use the Movie Properties settings available in QuickTime Pro.
Since you say you don't even get audio I think there is something wrong with your Transport Setup settings.

Flashplayer volume too low

Browser: Chrome v36

Basically for anything that uses flash player to run, the volume is too low to hear, even though in the volume mixer the volume level for chrome is at 100%, and the volume level on the video/page itself is at 100% also. I have tried to disable flash player in the plugins window which solves the issue for certain things (i.e. vimeo videos). However, Adobe Connect recordings require flash player to be installed and enabled to play, but the volume is then too low to hear.
I have tried deleting all locally stored settings in flash player, reinstalled it, but the issue remains.

and unfortunately for me, flashplayer autosets its own volume to 1 on every restart. i think this is the problem in your case too, and you might not see some audio sliders because of your audio drivers. maybe ill update my own audio drivers some other day. *i am using a creative audigy fx*

When I start a call, Skype turns its Application v...

As the title says, when I answer a call on Skype, over the first few seconds of the call, the volume of the other person will increase gradually, to the point where I can hear the ambient hum of their computer and room.
I always fix this immediately by going to the Windows 7 audio sliders panel and returning skype's volume to a lower point.
But the next time I take a call, oh hey suddenly skype gets very loud again, I check the sliders and it's at 100%.
Why does it even do this? How do I stop it?
Googling, all I can find is results about skype lowering other application volume, but nothing about it raising its own. Please help.

Not sure if it will help but you can give this a try:
Go to control panel > sound > output > find your output device and doubbleclick > advanced > disable allow programs to control device. (after memory, hope it's somewhat accurate).
You may also find soundcard spesific settings here, try to disable enhancements for instance.

CS5 PP with Zoom R16 mixer

Does anyone out here know if Premiere 5.5 can be used with the Zoom R16 mixer via USB. I'm tired of using a mouse to manipulate the audio sliders and wondering if my mixer can do the job. Or in fact...any mixer. Thanks

I don't think there is any mixer that would supported by Premiere. However the sound card that does have some kind of mixer input will work with premiere
I have Asus Zonar sound card that has a mike input and line input and midi input as well. so any of those inputs work with premiere and midi input works as well, if it enabled. Currently it is disabled in sound card and not shown on screen shot. Perhaps that would give you some Ideas where to look for.

Loss of audio after upgrade os x 10.7.5, reset PRAM, SMS, updated software and other recommendations i could find. Master volume sliders inactive in Audio Midi section. Can see sound bar responding it input on line in but is not being internally routed.

Recently upgrade to OS x 10.7.5 resulted in loss of what appears to be internal communication of line in audio, and output. Have tired several remedies including resetting PRAM, SMS, updating all software, multiple Sound and Audio Midi applications adjustments to no avail. Also no audio is recognized on USB mixing board I tried as well, though Audio USB Codec was displayed. THe master volume sliders and other options are greyed out on Audio Midi application whn I try to troubleshoot that. Nothing external will play through computer speakers, but internal sounds and iTunes play normally.I made sure the audio sampling rates were default. Software issue or soundcard/hardware failure.?..Pullin my hair out!

Might be corrupted sound preferences ...
Open the Finder. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type or copy paste the following;
/Library/Preferences/Audio
Click Go then move both .plist files from the Audio folder to the Trash.
com.apple.audioDeviceSettings.pllist
com.apple.audio.SystemSettings.plist
Restart your Mac. See if that made a difference ...

Audio Volume Sliders for multiple channels of audio

I don't even know if this is possible, but I was wondering if
there was any way you can set up volume sliders to control multiple
channels of audio. For a project I'm working on I am going to have
background audio and comentary. I want the user to be able to
adjust the volume of both the background audio and the comentary.
Is there any was I can make seperate sliders for each of those
tracks of audio?

you can not.
the only workaround i can think of would be to create a volume curve on one track, and then duplicate that track as many times as needed, and drag the regions of your other tracks into these duplicated tracks.

Audio Clip Mixer is missing dB range down the sides and sliders

My audio clip mixer is missing the dB range down the sides and sliders 90% of the time. There isn't any rhyme or reason as to when they show up and when they don't. I've attached a picture of what it looks like. Can anyone recommend a solution? Is there a preference I should be setting?

Without being able to press customize I can't join this Button Editor...
Furthermore I can't join it via the settings button, where "customize video/audio header" is not selectable as well...

Touching the sliders on M-audio ProjectMix I/O gives a high-pitched whine

Is there some special setup that has to happen? Anyone know, or know who to ask or where to look?

Similar issue; Audio was working fine on Lion, now not on Mountain Lion. Have a Macbook Pro early 2011 with AMD Radeon HD 6750M, connected by thunderbolt through a Lacie LBD to a mini-displayport to HDMI adapter (n.b. same problem when not going through the LBD) to a Pioneer VSX 521 AV receiver. For me when I go into audio Midi settings all the volume sliders for the displayport device are greyed out and at zero. But when I click 'configure speakers', it's able to send out the test signals to each speaker. Part of the problem could be that I'm not getting the option to put out 6channel sound, only 2 or 8 channel. Since my system is Dolby 5.1, and I only have 6 speakers, I would have expected the 6ch option to be available. But I imagine there's more to it than that. Elsewhere someone has suggested playing with Remote Interactive over HD on an Onkyo device; I'll see if there's something similar on the Pioneer that can be changed. Any other suggestions welcome.

Pulseaudio & tsched=0,random whitenoise since change to HDMI audio out

I had a fully working mythtv box with pulseaudio. Some time ago, I remember I had to add tsched=0 to /etc/pulse/default.pa like in the following line
load-module module-udev-detect tsched=0
because I had random white noise when skipping sections in music/video. I used analog out of my Creative Labs SB Live! at the time. Now I have a Nvidia GT 520 with HDMI out, connected it and changed some settings in alsamixer, pavucontrol as well as mythtv in order to have audio out through hdmi to my TV and it worked.
But since then I have again those random white noise issues. I start watching a recording and when I skip for 30sek it might still play normal, but randomly and with very high probability like every third or second time I skip again there is no sound anymore, but a very strong noise blasting out of my TV speakers. It is nearly unbearable, so loud.
So basically it is the same thing I could earlier work around with the tsched=0 parameter, but after searching hours in google I could not find anything better/else than setting this parameter which I already have since very long time.
Does someone have an idea where to start searching for the culprit?

Ok, so I have had some time to devote to this. Since this was a a new install of Arch I decided to just reinstall again to wipe out anything that I might have added to cause further compication to the solution. I am sure I am missing something obvious as aplay shows the card:

I have tried numerous howtos, tutorials and posts to attempt to solve this issue, but no luck. Here are a couple of them:

A couple of things worth noting:
All four channels are Mmuted (MM) each time I boot within alsamixer. There are no sliders on the four channels. They are either muted or not.
I have the HDMI input in HDMI1 on the TV, but I can move it to another if needed.
Since I am really unsure what would be needed beyond the alsa-info output I will hold off throwing irrelivant system logs and output, Please let me know what information would be helpful and I will post it.
I would really like to get this solved, so anyone willing to give a shot at helping me solve it would be most appreciated.

Importing a project into PE 12 trial version, not all audio tracks play back!

I'm trying the trial vesion of PE 12. Imported a project that I had created with PE 9. Everything appears to have been imported, including all the audio tracks. But when i play it back, some of the audio tracks are completely muted, while others, are fine and I can hear it.
Any idea what can cause this?

With "muted" Audio Tracks, I would look at a few possibilities, and especailly with a Project created in an earlier version of PrE:
Open Audio Mixer, and look to see if any Tracks are Muted.
Play the Timeline, and observe the Levels in Audio Mixer, and also whether there is any movement of the "sliders" in Audio Mixer.
Observe which Audio Tracks your Audio Clips are, in the Timeline, and report those please.
Making sure that Keyframe Display is set to Volume in your Audio Clips, are there any Volume Keyframes?
I am sure that others will have a few more ideas, and questions.

HP Mediasmart TV recordings lose audio sync

I have a HP Dv5 1235dx laptop and I am using a Kworld UB435-Q usb tv tuner stick to watch and record free over-the-air hdtv.
My issue is that when I record a program with HP Mediasmart TV the audio loses sync with the video. It starts out ok, but gradually goes out of sync the longer you record, so that by the end of an hour long show the audio is about 2 seconds off which is extremely distracting bordering on unwatchable. I can record programs with Windows Media Center and it has no audio sync problems, but WMC doesn't pick up all the channels and doesn't have as nice of an interface and program guide as HP Mediasmart TV.
Does anyone else have this issue, or know of a fix for this? I've also noticed that the recording quality options are greyed out in the settings menu, so its not like I can even try a lower quality setting to see if it makes a difference.

HP Pavilion p7-1421 Desktop PC BEATS AUDIO not working.

Hi, new here with thankfully my first problem with the desktop in the subject line.
Somewhere along the way, the Beats Audio stopped working correctly. The Equalizer
sliders will not move at all, and the "Test Speakers" button will highlight the left, then right
speaker, but no sound will be produced.
For background, I did install StartDoc, a program that gives one back the original Windows 7 "Start"
button and desktop. Other than that, I have not installed anything, except the reccommended HP upgrades.
Also, the machine is obviously running Windows 8, and I have NOT switched to 8.1.
I see on the Notebook page lots of questions re. Beats not working and solutions, but each user is asked
for the specific model, OS etc. This is why I chose to post a new thread, so that the experts can address
my exact machine.

I suggest reinstalling Beats Audio.
Open the Charms menu, select "Search".
Enter "Recovery Manager" and then select Recovery Manager from the list. Click "Yes "at the User Account Control.
Select "Hardware Driver Reinstallation". Select "Next". Select 'IDT High Definition Audio CODEC".
Select "Next"
Follow prompts to reinstall and reboot your PC.
