Audio sounds good on computer but shakey on TV in spots

Hello,
2 hr project. all audio levels are consistently between -6 and -12. Project sounds perfect in fcpx. When exported to dvd and played on a computer it sounds fine, BUT when played on a new hd tv audio at various points in the project make the tv's audio shake just a little.
I used bass boost throughout project cause i wanted a fuller sound. I think it might be that, but short of having to go in and adjust all bass levels i was wondering if anyone knew of a filter in fcpx that normalizes everything so that it sounds good on computers and tvs? i think there's a broadcast safe filter. Will that take care of the problem, or is there something else? A little more detail - my audio levels were originally above -6 consistently via an someone who worked on the projedct throughout entire project. when i moved them back between -6 and -12 i didn't adjust any of the bass boost levels that he originally established.
Thanks for your help! joe

Update....
So far, the video made with iDVD only sounds clear via the computer or surround sound system. The sound is hissing/fuzzy sounding at the "s" and "f" sounds on ALL regular tv speakers that I've tried it on, mono or stereo either one.
I saw the reply that stated there are no audio settings in iDVD with "OneStep..." So nothing can be adjusted in iDVD to make it sound good on all tvs? And no clues as to what's causing this issue?

If you are talking about audio artifacts (e.g. static) especially on the higher-numbered tracks, re-do the burn with a fresh CD-R (not CD-RW) at a low burn speed such as 2x or 1x.
The burn speed is set on the dialog that comes up when you request Burn Playlist to Disc.

  • Audio Sounds good in SP and bad in FCP

    Hi,
I preface: Recently i did a clean up of system with prefernce manager and pro maintenance tools.
I just sent an audio file from FCP to Soundtrack Pro (SP) to get rid of clicks. Sounded great in SP but with more clicks  than it originally had in FCP. Never had this problem. I'm sure it's related to the fact when i went to export the file from SP after taking clicks out it asked me if I wanted to Reference Source Audio or Include Source Audio. I chose Include Source Audio even though it said in the box that it wouldn't  play correctly if I didn't reference source audio, but it said i could change the setting in preferences back to the default. I did change it back to reference source audio, resaved and exported and it still has all those clicks in FCP.
    Any help is appreciated!
    Thanks,
    joe

    Hi Mike,
Thanks for your help. I played it in i tunes and fcp today and it sounds good in both, but yesterday it was cracking throughout. I don't understand. Bizarre.
    Thanks again!

  • QT audio playing on one computer but no others!

I have a QT presentation that's 3 minutes long and plays perfectly video and audio on the Vista OS computer where I created it. However, as soon as I try to play the same file on any other PC whether Vista or XP, I get no sound. I've tried everything I can think of. Can anyone help?

Best "guess" is that you've used QuickTime Pro to "add" the audio track but saved the file as a "reference" (not self-contained) movie.
As a reference movie the file would play properly only on the created machine (it can find the audio portion of the file).
Open the file on the original machine and use "Save As" (self contained) to gather up the stray parts.

  • Mandatory SuiteLink - sounds good in theory, but...

Am I the only mailer who is wondering how CASS Cycle N with mandatory SuiteLink is going to work, in real life?  My very nice but often database-challenged mail customers have their data scattered all over the place--I find company names mixed in with First, Last, and Address1 fields, and often at the end of a last name or the end of the street address.  I'm already pulling my hair out trying to get everything into a Company field for NCOA - and I've written a mean disclaimer that I put in front of everybody's eyes saying that company names have to be in a company field - but really, do mail owners care?
How do other mailing agents handle this?
And another thing:  does anybody out there know how to treat (for example) the names of retirement communities?  If you live in a Kendal retirement community, is that a company name, or not?  If you are the administrator of a Kendal retirement community, is that a company name, or not?
Thankfully most of my mailings seem to evade MERLIN, but I would like to be doing the right thing, anyway.
    Jean

You might have to start tapping your customers on the hand with a ruler.  We "clean" lists for the clients before the mail goes out and specifically tell them if it's not in a usable file format (ie company in a company column) there is a possibilty that CASS will toss it out and you won't be able to mail.  You can train them like that.
As far as retirement communities, most of them have actual roads or an apt# (for their mailbox) at a specific street on that road.  If someone lived there, I wouldn't put the name of the retirement community on there.
However, if I'm sending a mailer to and administrator regarding business with the retirement center, then YES, I would put the name of the retirement center on the piece.

  • ITunes / Gracenote recognized audio cds on one computer but not another!

What tha....I was importing purchased retail cds (albeit old ones) on my iMac Intel OS 10.4.11 + iTunes 9.0.2.(25) and Gracenote recognized the artist, album cover & tracks no problem. Then I tried importing the same cds onto our MacBook (Intel) using SAME (seemingly) software: OS 10.4.11 + iTunes 9.0.2 (25) and I got the message, "This CD was not found in the CDDB database." If that is the case, what database was the iMac querrying? This has happened to 3 George Howard cds so far.
Anyone come across this problem? Any advice?

I have also had "recognition" problems with CDDB Gracenote.
The latest, incredibly, was a Sinatra CD entitled "Where are you?" - one of his classics, which I can clearly see on the Gracenote website Capitol CDP 7 91209 2.
I have sent feedback to: http://www.apple.com/feedback/itunesapp.html
and suggest others do the same - eventually the message gets through !

  • Audio sounds different from DVDSP to Build File

I have a background audio track that sounds different when I view my VIDEO_TS folder using Apple DVD Player. In my FCP file, my exported AIF, my exported AC3, and within the DVDSP simulator, the audio sounds perfectly fine.
But when I make a build and view it in Apple DVD Player, it sounds very different. I'd describe the resulting sound as having more 'contrast': the 'loud' parts are the same, but the quiet parts are moderately quieter. Any idea what's going on?

What dialogue normalisation setting did you use (in A. Pack, or Compressor) for your Dolby Digital coding to create the .AC3s? If you use the default setting of -27dB, a (correctly set-up) player will change the audio levels on playback. If you change the setting to -31dB before coding, the levels are left alone on playback.
(There is a lot of material about Dolby Digital on their web-site, if you require "further reading".)

  • My audio disappeard when Im working in a project but the sound in my computer works. How can that be?

My audio in Logic Pro disappeard when Im working in a project but the sound in my computer works. How can that be?

    Logic Pro>Preferences>Audio>Devices>Coreaudio
That can be because Logic can have its' audio hardware configured, different from System Preferences>Sound, which is the config all other apps use. You've probably assigned Logic to some inactive audio port.

    Hello there dinadinadina,
It sounds like you have modified the password settings for your Gmail account after changing the password. Thats where I would have started too. Next I would restart the device and test it one more time, and then remove and add the account again in Settings:
Get help with Mail on iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch
    Restart your iOS device.
Delete the affected email account from your device.
Tap Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
    Tap the affected email account.
    Tap Delete Account.
    Add your account again.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

  • No Sound Speakers on computer not working, but head phones are for HP Pavilion Dv7

The speakers on my Hp Pavilion DV7-3164cl have stopped working. The only time sound works is when I use headphones or hook up the computer to my tv. I have already uninstalled and reinstalled the IDT High Definition Audio Codec (Driver Version 6.1.6345.0) and the ATI High Definition Audio Device (Driver Version 5.0.7000.6) for my computer via device manager. I recently updated the HP Support program for my computer, but even when I tried to do a system restore it didn't fix the problem.  I'm begining to think it could be a faulty wiring issue, but I'm not sure how to fix that. Any ideas?
My operating system is Windows 7 Home Operating System

    Hi,
As a last try you can perform a recovery on the computer (Reset to factoy settings) by tapping F11 as soon as you turn it ON. Make sure to have your data backed up before doing recovery.
HP Notebook PCs - Recover Windows 7 Operating System Using HP Recovery c01895783
If recovery also doesnt help then it has to be speaker issue. To fix that you can call HP Technical Support to get it replaced if you still have a warranty on the notebook.
    Note:
If you have HP Support Assistant installed on the computer(The Blue Question Mark) then open it ==> Complete all pending Updates & Tuneups==> Restart and Check. It may solve your problem
Although I am an HP employee, I am speaking for myself and not for HP.

  • USB Recording Audio Interface levels are visible but no sound.

I have a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 2 In/2 Out USB Recording Audio Interface hooked up to my iMac via USB cable.
On the System Preserences Sound Page, the computer recognizes the device and levels are visible.
But there is no sound coming out of my internal speakers/headphones.
I tried recording some music and it recorded fine and played back fine, I'm just unable to monitor the sound as it's coming in.
I've also tried a completely different device with the same outcome.

No, you have every business being here as any help is greatly appreciated.
When you say "core audio" what are you referring to?
Ok, here's what I see in the system preferences->sound window:
Output is set to Internal Speakers
Input is set to my device, the Scarlett 2i2 USB
When I play sound thru the device I can see levels where it says 'Input level'.
Now here's the MIDI setup->audio devices window:
Input is set to Scralett 2i2 USB (hightlighted in the left window with a microphone icon next to it).
just below that it reads 2 in/ 2 out
Output is set to Built-In Output (hightlighted in the left window with a dual smling face box icon and a speaker icon next to it).
just below that it reads 0 in/ 2 out
On the right is the Ch/Volume/Value/dB/Mute wondow
Master volume slider is in Light Grey and un-slidable
1 and 2 are Dark Grey and slidable.
That's pretty much it, sound comes in fine yet no sound from interal speakers.
Now I feel a crying spell coming on. Excuse me. Weep weep weep........
