Audio speed from iPhone video

I have a problem with importing video footage shot on my iPhone 4s.  The video plays at the correct speed, but the audio has been sped up.  Funny though it is to hear people talking ike Alvin and the Chipmunks, I'd like to be able to use the footage.  Any thoughts?
The audio plays fine when I play it back on my iPhone so the problem is definitely with iMovie 11.
Thanks

Fixed!  Although not using the advice above...  I re-imported them to iMovie a third time and they now seem to be ok.  I have no idea what was causing the first and second imports to go awry.  The only difference was that when I imported them for a third time the project was empty.  My guess is that by having a project already partially done, iMovie was trying to force a change in the frame rate on import.
The tip on Quicktime will still be useful though as I'm considering a change in workflow, and potentially different software (Premiere Elements) after all of the problems that I've had with this.
Thanks for your help with this - appreciate the time that you took.

  • How do I seperate the audio track from the video and save it to a CD in Premiere Elements 13?

How do I seperate the audio track from the video and save it to a CD in Premiere Elements 13?

    Binbashi
You can separate the audio track from video and save it to a DVD disc within Premiere Elements but not a CD disc.
To do save to the audio to DVD disc, you do not have to separate linked audio video, just use the export Publish+Share/Computer/Audio and set Presets to the wanted format (AAC, AIFF, MP3, or Windows Waveform (WAV).
You will not see Audio in the choices since it is at the bottom of the list of choices under Publish+Share/Computer/. You will need to use the thin scroll bar to the right of the choices to scroll to it.
If you need information on selective export of Timeline content when dealing with more than just this one file on the Timeline, please let us know. If you are trying to produce a CD for listening in car or CD player elsewhere, please let us know.
Looking forward to learning of your results.
    Thank you.

    Sure.
Choose Share>Export Using QuickTime.  Then select Sound to AIFF from the Export dropdown menu.
The resulting will be an audio only AIFF file.  The Sound to AU or Wave work in the same way and will create audio files of those file types.

  • How to send out audio wireless from a video running on AppleTV?

Airplay its a great feature, I have one AppleTv First Generation and AppleTv Black (AppleTv 2) with ATVFlash, I was wondering how to leverage the airplay feature and send out wireless all de audio comming from my Movies playing in Apple TV?
I have a Onkyo Multiroom system and I would like to use it.
My iMac its connected directly to my amplifiers and from there I can send all audio to my home, I was figure out How to do it from Apple TV. I get a great app call Airserver and you can stream all your audio from iPhone, iPad to the iMac and the you can heard using the Onkyo.
Any help? Why the Apple Tv does not stream audio from movies, actually the first generation has this "Speaker" function and you decide where to send out the audio but just from audio files not from musical videos or movies.

    Simple answer is:
AppleTV1 can send audio to Airtunes speakers on the network
    AppleTV2 can't.

  • Importing from iPhone video camera?

I'm about to start a an audio/video project and wanted to just put this out there for some advice.  3 Camera iPhone 4 shoot, 1 prerecorded audio track. Not planning on using the audio from the iphones.  I've never imported iPhone video into FCE. Any suggestions? Any know problems with this? I'm planning on doing it all in HD. Then syncing the video to the audio track. (The audio track is just an Mp3.) Will this just be super easy and straight forward? I've done this same thing with Canon Vixia HD cameras before and it was no problem. Does the iPhone present any particular issues?
    Thanks

Thanks Tom. (BTW, love your book!)
So, how do I convert these files? I've always just dragged things into the timeline before, then rendered them, but I don't want any funny business. Is there a specific way I should prepare these files before I bring them into the project? I'm always a bit confused by this and have had some bad experiences with projects that looked squashed or stretched.
    Thanks for your input!

  • Does anyone know how to separate a movie track from an audio track on the new Mavericks Garage band. It used to be very easy on the iLife 11 version. If anyone could respond ASAP I'd be grateful. I need to make an audio file from a video.

I urgently need to make some audio tracks from videos using the new 2013 GarageBand. In iLife11 Garageband, this was very easy. However, I cannot see how to do it in the new one. The alternative might be to revert to the iLife11 version, so does anyone know how to do this. It's extremely urgent since I need to produce these for a court custody hearing which will take place at 0800 GMT UK time on 31st October 2013. Please help.
    Thank you.

When you drag a movie from the Media Browser to the Time lIne in GarageBand, you will see a pop-up "Extracting Audio".
The Movie and the audio file will appear in separate tracks. You can copy the audio region from the sound track to a different track to keep it safe and then hide the Movie track.

  • Audio Problem from Analog video

Ok the basics are, I'm working with iMovie 4.0.1, Quictime 7.0.4 and video input from a vhs deck thru a Director's Cut DV converter box which is connected to my G4 via firewire and connected to the deck via the RCA jacks.
When Previewing the tape all is well and there's no perceivable issues.
Once imported into iMovie, there's a major audio buzz over the tape's audio making it unusable. I can hear the tape's audio faintly through the buzz. The video quality is fine. Any ideas on what's causing this? Third party apps, etc?
    Thanks
    Eric

Lennart, again you are the master. Your link led me to this link, http://www.miglia.com/Support/dctechfaq.html which tells me some unfortunate info.
For ease, here's their FAQ on the subject---
Q: When I import video with iMovie, the audio sounds fine during import. Once I play it back, there is a background noise that covers the audio track.
A: This issue is discussed in an Apple KB article: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=42979
One workaround under iMovie 3/4 is to extract the audio from the video in the timeline.
If you own a Director's Cut Take 2 with a serial number starting with 70xxxx or 71xxxx, you can purchase a firmware chip that provides a workaround for this iMovie issue.
Units with serial numbers starting with 72xxxx or 172xxxx have the firmware workaround already built-in.
Note that the firmware update is not compatible with the D-10 model manufactured by PowerR.
I called Miglia, which now handles PowerR converters under their own name, and they will sell me a refurb at discount since I got this converter VERY early on.
I will have to check with them to see if iMovie 5-6 addressed this issue and corrected it as upgrading is cheaper than buying a new converter, and extracting the audio isn't going to work for a lot of what I do. If anyone knows if upgrading to iMovie 5 or 6 fixes this issue, let me know! =)
    Thanks again Lennart!

  • Making a DVD from iPhone Video

Lifelong Windows user here seeking some Mac expertise:)
I am in the process of making a DVD from Iphone home videos that can be played on any DVD player.
I see that Mac's video format is .mov which from what I can tell is not the same format needed to make DVD's that can be played on all DVD players. I already have the files saved on my MacBook Pro as mov. files can anyone tell me how to get them converted in order to have them play on a DVD player? Can iMovie do the conversion for you or do I need another program to convert the files and then process them into a movie in the iMovie program or even Adobe Premiere Elements 12 which I also have installed on this MacBook Pro.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

That is great information to have. Thank You for your quick response. Following your response I did some more research on video converters and found that Handbrake which I already have installed on the MacBook converts video files but only in the output formats of MP4 and MKV which does not help my cause; however, while doing that research I came across a program known as iMedia Converter Deluxe for Mac from Skysoft which from what I can tell supports output .avi video formats. Do you have any experience / advice on iMedia or any other recommended video converter program that works well with Mac and is preferably "free"?

  • Missing one audio channel from MXF video

    Greetings,
I have a bunch of footage shot with a Canon XF300 camera. Two wireless lav mics were feeding into the camera. On the day, I was monitoring audio and am 100% certain that it was recorded correctly. I found a couple of unerased CF cards from the shoot and was able to verify that the audio is good when I pop the CF card into the camera.
However, when I transfer the footage to hard disk and attempt to play it out using either Premier Pro CS5, or VLC, I'm losing channel one of the audio. I've been attempting to troubleshoot, and have found a couple of references on the Web regarding missing audio channel 1 from MXF video files -- but nothing that is relevant to this situation.
I'm on Mac OS X 10.6.6 and am running Premiere Pro CS5 5.0.3. No video cards.
I've tried bringing the files in using: Finder, XF Utility and ShotPutPro. I'm copying the complete directory structure in all cases.
Has anyone seen this problem before? Any troubleshooting thoughts?
    Thanks,
    Cameron

It turns out that the MXF files are coming in with 2 mono audio tracks, and for some reason, in the clip viewer, one of the audio tracks doesn't play, but if you move the clip to the timeline, both audio channels can be heard. Ran into the same issue with Cineform encoded material coming in with two mono audio tracks. So I'm going to file a bug report.
Ah, OK... now I understand. No need to file a bug report; maybe a feature request, but a bug report isn't necessary. Here's why:
When you bring in clips with mono channels, by default, you only hear the first mono channel when playing back in the Source Monitor. If you toggle over to Audio Waveform view (click the Output button), you can select which of the channels (called "Tracks" which is a little silly, frankly) you want to monitor. Here's what this looks like:
This applies to any format that has mono channels. If you interpret the footage to stereo (you must do this before you use it in a sequence), you can listen to both channels at once. Of course, then you have to deal with the audio as stereo, which is not always what you want. That's why I do a lot of my editing with MXF material (primarily P2) that has multiple mic sources in a sequence, where I can monitor more than one source channel.
In any event, that's why this isn't really a bug; it might be a poor design decision, but it's otherwise working correctly. I'd definitely suggest making a feature request for a "Mixed" or "Plus" audio source option in the Source Monitor. I'm going to do the same.
Anyway, I hope that helps explain the issue. Good luck!

  • Select audio channels from a video

I have imported a video in Audition CC.
The video is an H264 with 4 audio channels.
How can I select a specific channel that I want to later export in MP3?
Only the first channel is visible in Audition CC.
    Thank you.

In the Files pane, there is only one audio item along the video item.
Handbrake sees the 4 audio channels and allows me to export the channel I want.
I wonder if Audition can do the same.

  • Batch Extract Audio Files from .m4a videos

I saw something about using Terminal to extract audio files from a batch of quicktime movies, but I'm not sure where it was. Anyway, is there a way besides doing each manually? There are quite a few of them. I know my way around Terminal fairly well if necessary.

Okay, I kind of solved it (drag and drop, click, drag and drop, click, etc...) by using ffmpegX, which puts each file into a queue and goes through and converts them all. Still, it would be cool if there was a way to do it all in a single batch because if you drop a batch into ffmpegX, it only does the first one.

  • Missing audio from iPhone videos?

Some videos on my iphone are missing the audio. They used to have audio, but now when I play them back they are silent. The backup copies in iPhoto also have no sound. The videos are about 2 months old. I have done the update to IOS 7 recently, however the copies in iPhoto were done prior to this and also have no audio, so I doubt its an update thing. Is there anyway to retrieve the audio, and what would make random videos on my phone lose the audio?

    Hello SebastianTroen,
It sounds like you are seeing these performance issues persist between 2 different versions of the Apple TV. I would recommend that you use these troubleshooting steps from the following article, as it should help you resolve the issue:
iOS: Troubleshooting AirPlay and AirPlay Mirroring
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4215
Troubleshooting performance issues with AirPlay or AirPlay Mirroring
If you are experiencing intermittent playback or significant network lag with AirPlay or AirPlay Mirroring, it could be due to a weak Wi-Fi connection, interference, or the distance between the Wi-Fi router and your iOS device, Apple TV or AirPort Express.
    Try the following suggestions:
Ensure that other devices are not trying to stream to the same Apple TV at the same time.
Ensure that your Wi-Fi router is set up with the recommended settings for the best performance.
Certain external devices, such as microwave ovens and baby monitors, may interfere with a Wi-Fi network. Try moving or disabling these devices.
If possible, try to locate your Wi-Fi router in the same room as your iOS device and Apple TV.
If your wireless and wired networks are the same, try connecting your Apple TV to the router via Ethernet instead of Wi-Fi.
If the Wi-Fi router has an external antenna, check to see that is it connected properly and in good condition.
Use the Wi-Fi network troubleshooting guide to resolve interference and other issues.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    Cheers,
    Sterling

  • Airplay audio stutters from Yosemite, video remains unusable.

I've come across numerous other threads describing this issue but none seems to have a resolution other than "wait until Apple fixes it via update", so I decided to make a post and see if I could find some newer answers since it's been a while.
Upon updating my macbook pro to Yosemite back in when it was released, Airplay audio from my MacBook to my Apple TV 3rd Gen stutters for about 30 seconds after beginning Airplay and intermittently thereafter. With Mavericks, everything worked perfectly and nothing has changed hardware-wise since then, which handily implies that Yosemite is to blame. Still, I have wiped and restored both my macbook and the Apple TV (via usb), and even my router (Airport Extreme ac) in my efforts to troubleshoot with no luck. Wifi conditions are maybe 8 feet with direct line of sight and I've tried both 2.4 and 5 GHz spectra. Video airplay functions after a fashion but has a continuous stutter that makes it practically unusable. Note that this issue also affects my partner's MBP but both of our iPhone 6's continue to function perfectly. The Apple TV is connected to the Airport via ethernet cable.
Other solutions I have come across include disabling bluetooth on the mac, but this solution is untenable as it breaks the functionality of Continuity features which I have come to depend on and also doesn't seem to work for everyone, and several terminal commands which alter the behavior of bluetooth on my system which ultimately have the same adverse side effects as simply disabling it.
I am seriously lamenting this broken airplay functionality and, since it was a key motivator in my use of the Apple TV product, am strongly considering something different. Am I pretty much just out of luck here?
    Brendon
    Apple TV 3rd Gen
Retina MacBook Pro 15 inch, early 2013
    All software current.
Edited to note that the Apple TV was connected via ethernet.

Completely random fix that worked for me - was driving me nuts and like you tried every other suggestion.
I was certain issue was post iMac Beta upgrade to 10.10.3 - reverted back to 10.10.2 and still there - did all the Blue Tooth, router suggestions blah blah blah
Changed to wired network, still there.
I then factory reset Apple TV - while not connected to the network - problem was not present - just playing around in Apple TV basics no issues - happily confirmed not the Apple TV.
Removed wired network, re-added wifi network, de-authorised my computer and then re-authorised and everything has since worked - just watched an hour long show and no issue.
Doing a little jig of joy - off work today sick so wanted the bloody Apple TV working Fingers crossed it works for you.
