Audio Stopped Working After Yosemite Upgrade
I just upgraded my MacBook Pro to Yosemite from Mavericks. While all my audio options are averrable to me and seemingly functional, I still have no sound from internal speakers, external speakers or headphones plugged in to the audio jack. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

DisplayPort audio stopped working after Yosemite upgrade
I have an LG monitor with built in speakers that has audio passed thru the DisplayPort connection. Its been working great since Mavericks. I recently upgraded to Yosemite and since then audio through DisplayPort has been broken. It no longer shows up as an output option in the Control Panel. I've tried resetting SMC and PRAM to no avail. I get audio when I'm in Bootcamp, thou. Has anyone else encountered these audio issues and figured out a fix?

CD/DVD Reader Stopped Working After Yosemite Upgrade
My partner and I both have Mac Mini's (late 2012) versions. They came loaded with Mavericks. He recently upgraded to Yosemite and I did not. I have heard there are "Wi-Fi" issues and "don't want to fix something that ain't broke"!! He connects directly to our ATC, so he doesn't need to be concerned about those issues, however; he came home from getting an Xray yesterday and wanted to copy the CD they gave him. He's never done that before, so I said: "Sure, give me a blank and I'll burn a copy for you. Loaded up the Xray CD on his Mac and it started to read then just quit. The drive did not show up in the sidebar of Finder, like it does in Mavericks.....OK, so let me take the disc into my office and see if I can read. No problems, the disc loaded right up. I copied the files into my "Burn Folder"; loaded up the blank and burned all the files to it; just like it's supposed to. This morning I thought maybe his drive might be bad. We both have the same external USB 3.0 CD/DVD burners. Brought the drive and his cable into my office, plugged it in and it took off working like it was supposed to. So that eliminates the drive and cable. Took it back into his office and plugged it into a "known" good port on his machine, same thing, no work and had to eject the disc with a paper clip in the eject hole. Although his machine seems to address the drive (it will start and spin the disc), nothing shows up in his sidebar or desktop. Help...What's the problem???
This might help. If you haven't done so yet, try installing Apple's SuperDrive Firmware Update 3.0, which is on Apple's support site at http://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT201953 to see if that resolves it. Although it's not specifically for that problem, the firmware update seems to be important for making external SuperDrives work in Yosemite, and it is one step I used to get my SuperDrive to work in a USB external case when plugged into my MacBook Pro.
Please let us know either way, whether the firmware update helps or not in your situation. -
My camera connection kit stopped working after I upgraded to ios5
My camera connection kit stopped working after I upgraded to ios5. If I plug it in to my iphone I get a message saying it is not recognised, but when I plug it into the ipad it does nothing at all. I've tried resetting it, but that makes no difference.
I have an ipad 1 which I bought because it had lots of storage. I'm going on holiday soon, and I want to be able to upload my holiday photos to my ipad while I'm away.
Any suggestions?Actually this sounds the same problem I have on my iPad2.
I use a cheap copy of the CCK which I got off eBay.
It worked great when fitted with a 16gb SD card, but since I upgraded to 5.01 it has stopped working.
Sorry, no solution at this point but it worked on 4.3.3 but not on 5.01.
I'll keep on looking, was considering a proper CCK thinking the cheapmversion may be drawing too much current, but it sounds like that might not work either. -
SugarCRM stops working after Leopard upgrade
My local copy of SugarCRM CE 4.5.1 was working in Tiger before I upgraded to Leopard last week.
After the upgrade, SugarCRM complains with the following message:

=====
A copy of PHPMyAdmin has not had any problems during the transition from Tiger to Leopard, nor have local copies of WordPress and Drupal.
Any advice would be appreciated. I'm new to the subtleties of Apache/PHP/MySQL on Leopard, so please be gentle.
Thanks.Thanks for the swift response.
I'm familiar with the socket location issues with MySQL on Mac OS X. My local copies of WordPress and PHPMyAdmin both work with their configurations pointing to the socket at /tmp/mysql.sock. These installations were working, along with SugarCRM, before the Leopard upgrade. Only SugarCRM has stopped working after the upgrade.
Is there something I misunderstand about your pointer?

Incoming mailserver won`t work after Yosemite upgrade
My incoming emailserver (pop.online.no) suddenly stopped working after upgrading to OS X Yosemite on my Macbook Pro 2013.
I have checked all the settings, and all seems to be correct, apart from it won't download any e-malis anymore.
(My outgoing emails from smtp.online.no seems to work fine though).
What can I do to get this fixed? Everything seems to be correct in all fields. But my Mail won´t establish any contact with my incoming pop.online.no account.Hey there SirOlsen,
It sounds like you are unable to receive mail, but you seem to be able to send it without issue. I would use the Connection Doctor to help you troubleshoot the issue here:
OS X Mail: Troubleshooting sending and receiving email messages
You may even need to remove, and readd the account from your Internet Accounts pane of System Preferences:
Add your Twitter, Facebook, and other Internet Accounts - Mac Help
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

Share option for email does not work after Yosemite upgrade.
Hi,
Does anybody know why the share option, "Share via email" does not work anymore after Yosemite upgrade? I love this feature. It's just quick and easy.
Rod.On Yosemite, Pages '09 v4.3 no longer recognizes the Share > Send Via Email categories. You will have to export and manually drag/drop/attach documents to Mail. There is no fix.

Epson printer stopped working after yosemite
All of a sudden, after Apple autoupdate installed yosemite update and new epson drivers, my printer will only print first line of a document.
I've tried deleting and reinstalling printer, repairing and verifying drive, deleting printer library files, unplugging, rebooting... nothing is working. Does anyone have a solution for me? Help!My Epson WF-4360 "lost it's mind" after being accidentally unplugged for most of a day.
The printer DID work from Yosemite both before and after the "loss of power"
The printer DID work from iOS before the loss of power ... but stopped working after that
ALL the printer status reported to be fine -- showed the wi-fi network address and connection ... but was NOT discoverable from iOS
This fix resolved the issue:
Find the wi-fi IP address of the printer -- either from the printer or the network (mine was a local IP ... 10.0.1.n)
Go to Safari on the iOS device -- enter the IP address of the printer
Scroll down to the BASIC SETTINGS on the left side menu
Scroll down to the AirPrint Setup button ... click to start
Click OK -- to advance through the menus ... two separate browser pages for me
You will see AirPrint "Setup Complete"
From iOS ... the printer is now discoverable. -
HT1338 motion 4 will not work after yosemite upgrade
motion 4 will not work after yosemite upgrade
To be honest I do not use motion or any other compositing app so i do not miss it personally. However the new Motion is not that expensive, around $60 i think. Still, I understand your frustration.
I am afraid the more the OS is updated the less compatible certain applications will become.
Good Luck

IPod audio stops working after a few minutes of watching a video Mp4.
When watching full length movies on the iPod, my audio stops working at random. The only way to get it back is to stop the movie and advance it, then start it again.
What video conversion software did you use? And did
you install the latest IPOD updater?
I read more of the discussions and going back to the old version took care of the problem.

FaceTime Camera Not Working After Yosemite Upgrade
So After I upgraded to Yosemite yesterday, my FaceTime Camera stopped working.
Every time I turned on FaceTime or Photo Booth, the green light on the camera started to blink like crazy but nothing would show up on the screen. It was just black. And I tried different user too, not working.
I tried to reinstall Yosemite, no luck.
Tried to rest SMC and PRAM, no luck.
Tried safe boot, no camera in safe mode.
Tried repair disk permission, no luck.
Here is how it showed in system report, I thought it would be more details?
I am using MBP with Retina late 2013 model. I am 90% positive that the camera was working before this upgrade.
I don't know whether anyone else encounter the same problem and I am afraid it's something I installed that's causing the problem. In that case, even a clean install works fine, after I restore everything from Time Machine, the problem might just come back.
Thanks!
<Image Edited By Host>geoffreysong wrote: ... I am afraid it's something I installed that's causing the problem...
You have done the right things. With all you have tried, some third party item you have added is a very good guess as to what could be causing your trouble. The biggest difficulty will be determining which installation caused the trouble.
I am certainly not experiencing your problem on any of my 10.10 Macs.
geoffreysong wrote: ... In that case, even a clean install works fine, after I restore everything from Time Machine, the problem might just come back...
Right again! The way to prevent reinstalling the problem (and to prove your guess was correct) is to reinstall OS X using the OS X Yosemite: Erase and reinstall OS X instructions.
Next, before adding anything else, test your camera using the applicable suggestions from Apple's How to Troubleshoot iSight article. (Over time, Apple has changed the built-in camera's name on newer Macs from "iSight" to "FaceTime" and then to "FaceTime HD." Regardless of the name of your Mac's built-in camera, the same info and troubleshooting applies.)
• If the camera works now, your suspicion is correct. You can then add ONE needed app FROM ITS ORIGINAL SOURCE (not from any of your backups) and test the camera again. If the camera fails, you have found the problem app. If the camera works, continue adding apps one at a time, testing thoroughly between each addition. After all your apps are added back, if your camera continues to work correctly, you can copy your data files back from your latest backup.
• If the camera doesn't work immediately when nothing has been added to your fresh Mac OS X installation, you most likely have a hardware problem. There are no user serviceable parts of the camera. Contact Apple or an Apple-Authorized Service Provider for service.

Incoming Emails stopped working after Sony Upgrade
Hi, yesterday I upgraded to the latest Sony software 12.1.A.1.205 and my Talk Talk emails have stopped working. I have been in touch with Talk Talk and my settings are correct - POP3 server - mail.talktalk.net, Port 110... My outgoing emails work absolutely fine. It happened immediately after the upgrade. I can see that that I currently have 57 emails to read on the the phone but it just won't display any at all after the upgrade. Any ideas would be most welcome. Thank you.
We appreciate you spending so much time with Apple trying to get your information and audio back. We want you to have a fantastic working phone so you can enjoy our wireless network for many more years. Did you have your information backed up before the update? You may be able to follow the steps at http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414 to restore your iPhone to it's previous information-filled glory.
As for the volume, make sure to check inside the headset jack for any debris or corrosion. I've come across pocket lint in my headset jack that caused the phone to think I had headphones plugged in. If the jack is all clear, try playing any song from your Controller Center (Sliding from botton to top with the screen block) using the Earphones. Disconnect the earphones while the song's playing (the song will stop), and then press play again without the earphones in. This may help to trigger the phone to play sound normally. If not, when did you purchase your iPhone? Has there been any damage?
Thank you

Hdmi sound on my mac mini has stopped working after I upgraded the OS
I just upgraded the iOS on my Core i5 Mac mini to 10.8.5 and my hdmi sound on my monitor stopped working. I have tried rebooting and adjusting the Audio midi settings and nothing seems to work. I know the mac mini speakers are working and the monitors speakers are working. What do I try next?
Resetting the NVRAM / PRAM, as per > About NVRAM and PRAM
1. Shut down the computer.
2. Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command, Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
3. Turn on the computer.
4. Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys. You must press this key combination before the gray screen appears.
5. Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
6. Release the keys. -
USB scanner stopped working after PC upgrade
I have HP Officejet 4500 all in one printer. It has both USB and ethernet connections.
This week I have upgraded all PC components (so everything is new) except SSD drive so that I was able to continue where I stopped working.
However, my USB connection with printer stopped working.
First of all, I need to say, that I had to make scanner working over ethernet, so now my printer/scanner works without USB, but:
1. what may be the reason to stop USB connection working?
scanimage -L has usually expected output:
scanimage -L
device `hpaio:/usb/Officejet_4500_G510g-m?serial=CN141F219005CQ' is a Hewlett-Packard Officejet_4500_G510g-m all-in-one
but sometimes:
scanimage -L
and sometimes:
scanimage -L
device `hpaio:/usb/Officejet_4500_G510g-m?serial=0' is a Hewlett-Packard Officejet_4500_G510g-m all-in-one
When I try to scan over USB:
scanimage --format=tiff > test.tiff
scanimage: open of device hpaio:/usb/Officejet_4500_G510g-m?serial=CN141F219005CQ failed: Invalid argument
sometimes it stucks and sometimes:
scanimage --format=tiff > test.tiff
scanimage: open of device hpaio:/usb/Officejet_4500_G510g-m?serial=0 failed: Invalid argument
I have tried all steps on https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Scanner site. I remind, that on the old PC it was working correctly. The problem appeared after upgrade.

I don't have any such problem with rear USB.
All other USB devices work with front USBs. (wireless mouse, USB external HDD, USB CD/DVD, bluetooth dongle).
Can anybody explain me these issues please?
