Audio streaming sound cuts in and out

While trying to listen to streaming audio, the sound cuts about every second and a half. I've played with different streaming speeds and none have corrected the problem.
Thanks in advance for your help!

Does this happen with just one stream (or from a single provider), or does the same think happen with more than one (particularly from more than one server source)?

I highly doubt your modem has anything to do with this because it doesn't have MoCA.However it sounds like you an original green power light Pace DVRs and they are well known to have audio dropout issues. I would replace that DVR with a different version.
Is this problem happening on a specific channel? CBS seems to be having issues lately. I am watching the CMA awards right now and I have heard the volume change a couple times but this is the only channel it is happening on which would suggest it is not Comcast's fault.

  • Audio Is Randomly Cutting In And Out In Playback

I have encountered this problem on all recent Premiere projects I've worked on with a variety of audio types. My audio is cutting in and out in a seemlingly random way while the video keeps running fine. Sometimes the audio will play fine for 15 seconds then stop, sometimes it stops and starts after about 2 seconds. I have tried adjusting all of my preferences, settings, audio types, and even video types but the problem always comes back. Spoke to a friend who's new to Premiere and he's having the same problem. Considering moving back to FCP despite the weak interface.
Currently I am editing Canon 5d Mkii footage at 1080p, 29.97 fps. I am using none of the audio attached to the video clips - only editing to a separate m4a music track. My audio is at 44100 Hz. I am playing back video at 1/4 quality. I am running a fully updated Mac Powerbook with a 2.6GHz Intel Core i5 and 8gb of RAM.
Please help, almostly completely unable to edit. Thanks.

I am still having the same issue in Premiere CC 8.0.1 (21)
Exact same issue as the original poster on this thread, as well as the original poster on this other thread:
Premiere Pro CC Audio Cuts Out
So this audio issue persists from version 7 now in version 8.0.1!
For me, audio is cutting in and out randomly and never in the same place. If I have multiple audio tracks on the timeline, then one or more tracks might drop-out at the same time. Sometimes all tracks drop out at the same time. It seems completely random.
I am editing with a combination of P2 footage and DNxHD 290 footage. (I originally had some AVCHD footage, but then I transcoded all of it to DNxHD 290 -- but this did not improve the audio issue at all.)
Two of my audio tracks contain the native camera audio (stereo); 1 track has the music bed (stereo .wav files) and 1 track has sound effects (stereo .wav files)
In one of my projects, I had a very strong reverb effect applied to the track (not to the clip). When the audio dropped out, I could still hear the tail of the reverb. This leads me to conclude that it's not the entire audio track that is muting -- it's definitely the source audio clip that's dropping out. The reverb tail continued after the audio dropped out.
Playing the same part of the timeline again produces randomly different results -- audio might drop out on a different track, or at a different time, or not drop out at all.
This bug is making it nearly impossible to edit! I have filed a bug report at http://www.adobe.com/go/wish_fr
During timeline playback, my CPU utilization never goes above 15% and at least 12 GB of RAM is staying free, so I am pretty confident these drop-outs are NOT caused by lack of computer resources. Also, my hard drives seem to be fast enough to play back 4 streams of HD simultaneously, but I am getting these audio drop-outs when playing back 1 stream of HD plus 4 channels of audio. Therefore, I don't believe this can be a hard drive bandwidth issue.

  • Sound cutting in and out on Macbook Pro 15 (original) when waking display

When I wake the display from sleep, any audio that was playing when the system went to sleep - or rather, the display went to sleep (ie: pandora, QT movie, etc), immediately starts to cut in and out and gets glitchy. This happens as soon as I move my mouse and get the dialogue box to enter my un/pw to wake from sleep. The only way to resolve it is to quit the application putting out the audio, and then open it up again. Once I do that, the problem goes away.
Currently running 10.6.2, but have had this problem since upgrading to Snow Leopard. I've searched the forums and can't seem to find any answers. There are a lot of vague sound issues with MBP and this is a hard one to "sum up" in the subject line. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I've searched the forums and can't seem to find any answers.
Not even quitting out the audio application prior to letting your computer sleep?
Not sure what you have already tried from searching the forums. If you have Applecare, give them a call or take your computer to an Apple store. Let the Geniuses there check it out.

  • Sound cuts in and out

I am running Mainstage 3.0.3 on my MacBook Pro - 13" (early 2011), OS X 10.9.1, 2.3 GHz Intel Core i5 processor, 8GB RAM and running on a Samsung 500GB SSD drive. I am plugging in a bass through an M-Audio USB Fast Track.
Using this right now simply to play along with tracks on iTunes (for practice). Used to use Garageband for this, but then I got Mainstage. Mainstage 3 was running fine when I first bought and downloaded it. Not sure what the problem is now, but when I open it and create a new concert (bass-rig) then turn the master volume up, the slider movement is choppy and the sound/signal cuts in and out (more out than in). The only time I can get sound to consistantly come out is if I click on a menu option, like File or Edit or Action, etc... if I click off the menu, the sound cuts back out and I get nothing.
Sound works perfectly fine through Garageband with the same setup.

That's the model of your processor in your HP P6350z. Do you have a discrete (separate) audio card in your PC?  When you purchased your PC did you add a separate audio card?  If not, then go to www.realtek.com and download and install the latest audio drive for the Realtek ALC888S.

  • MacBook sound cuts in and out & getting a beach ball a lot.

When I try to play a video the sound either cuts in and out or just stays off. You can barely hear a small popping noise through the speakers. The chisel also lags very band making it impossible to watch, it does not matter if the video is online or on the computer itself.  I also get the beach all allot even sometimes just using Word. Is there any way to fix this without wiping the hard drive?
Here is a video if this will help

Hi I have experienced this problem also, especially when listening to mp3's. At first I thought the quality of mp3 was the cause (as in different encoding quality) but it seemed to happen when playing DVD as well. I don't think a reboot will solve the problem for good, as it happens quite randomly. I have a sneaking suspicion that the internal speakers may be at fault. doesn't hurt to get apple to check it out while under warranty.

  • Audio cuts in and out on iPhone 4S

I have an iPhone 4S (16 GB) that is on version 6.0.1.  My problem has to do with sound cutting in and out when listening to music, using apps or watching videos (audio never cuts out on actual phone calls).  The issue happens both when I'm streaming online and using local programs (like apps or iTunes).  The music plays anywhere from 15 to 45 seconds, then the audio cuts.  The volume bar disappears and the iPhone pauses the muted music 3 to 5 seconds after.  If you hit Play again, it works for about 3 to 5 seconds before cutting again and automatically pausing.
Is anyone else experiencing this issue or have heard of it reported?  I noticed this issue on my device four days ago.

    Hey Fitz,
I was just in to the Apple Store to have the same issue looked at for my iPhone 4. Audio cutting in and out across programs, headphones or not, with the volume bar dissapearing when the problem occurred. Turns out its damage to the audio processor (evidently located near the speakers). Can be from water damage, wear and tear or as simple as dust. I had to replace mine outright, but the employee was saying sometimes they just need a cleaning. Worthwhile having it looked at.
Sorry there isn't an easier fix!

  • Logic Pro X Audio cutting in and out

When I am trying to record in Logic Pro X the audio seems to cut in and out at random points.
I have a MP3 track that I am recording to and it just randomly cuts out. Even when just playing that track by itself the same thing happens though never at the same spots. If I open the MP3 in Itunes or Quicktime there is no problem with the track.
As this seriously messes with the time of the piece and makes the recording long and painful I need help.
Is there some type of connection I am missing? I am using an old Presonus Firebox as an Interface, it unfortunately has adaptors to take it from firewire to thunderbolt. Recording into a 27" Imac that is very souped up and shouldn't have any problems until I hit a hundred tracks or so and I am only trying two.

It's most likely the Fusion drive, one of the symptoms is audio cutting out.
There are several related threads in this forum regarding audio problems with the Fusion drive.
This thread alone would take a couple of days to read.

  • Optical digital audio cuts in and out

I am connecting my new Apple TV 2010 to our Bose Lifestyle 28 (Apple TV HDMI to VS-2 and Apple TV Optical Digital to the Bose Lifestyle). After power cycling the Apple TV the audio works but cuts in and out every few seconds.
    All thoughts appreciated.
    Thanks in advance, Jay

Even after switching DD to "On" switching cables and ensuring that I was playing back audio content with DD encoded audio, I still receive no DD audio and continue to get audio drop outs.

  • AirPlay Audio Cuts in and Out

I have had major issues in the past six months with the audio from my AirPlay where there used to be none. For a long while I used an elaborate setup from my 2nd gen AppleTV, to a optical audio out to a quarter inch converter to an AudioEngine wireless dongle to my receiver with flawless results between 2013 and late 2014. When problems started occuring I naturally figured it was the wi-fi network, I did some serious reconfiguring to get as strong and clean of a wi-fi signal as possible, still had the issues. I finally decided to simplify the whole setup to an AirPlay compatible Denon AVR-x1000 stereo that hardwires to my wireless router. All was good for a week, now its worse than ever, even resetting the internet and the router will not seem to get the AirPlay from cutting in and out. I have an iPad, an iPhone 5 and a Macbook Pro, and an AppleTV all connecting to the receiver. All have the same cut in and out problem that existed before the receiver and after. It seems every update makes things less stable not more. Is there someone who can help walk me through a fix or just tell me AirPlay no longer works so I can stop trying?
    Please help!!!
    Here is my setup -
    Macbook Pro 15-inch, Mid 2012 - 2.6 GHz Intel Core i7, 8GB RAM Running OS X Yosemite 10.10.3 connected by Wi-Fi
Denon AVR-X1000 AirPlay enable receiver connected directly to router via ethernet
    Netgear Dualband Wireless-N Router WNDR3700 - 2.4GHZ Channel has a 92% Signal and the 5Ghz has 85%
Internet Connection is fast and consistent 72MBps Down 10 Up
2nd Gen AppleTV connected via Wi-Fi
    iPhone 5 iOS 8.3
2nd Gen iPad running iOS 8.2
I have shut off bluetooth on anything that has it to avoid interference. The video of the appleTV works just fine and the Airplay Icon is consistently available, this is an AUDIO issue.
***There is another 2nd Gen Apple TV in a separate room (weaker signals all around) connected to the same network that works flawlessly streaming audio and video from any device.***

  • Digital Audio Cuts In and Out

I have an earily 2009 Mac Pro hooked up to my Onkyo TX-NR3007 via digital audio (optical TOSlink). When I play a movie or music it cuts in and out. Maybe 30 sec of sound than nothing for a few seconds then sond again. I have tried 2 different cables. It is not the media because it does not happen in the same spot twice. I have also tried a differnet opt in on the receiver with the same results. I'm running up to date OS 10.7.5,
Please help I've tried everything I can think of...

Even after switching DD to "On" switching cables and ensuring that I was playing back audio content with DD encoded audio, I still receive no DD audio and continue to get audio drop outs.

  • Just used my FaceTime for the first time, and my audio kept cutting in and out.? Why is it doing that? Or what's causing it? HELP!

I tried facetiming for the first time and my audio kept cutting in and out.. WHY!? It was so annoying. Does anyone know what might be the problem? Connection? Thanks!

  • Mac Mini 10.7 external hdmi audio cuts in and out

I have the newer mac mini, have had this one and another one previously setup on my samsung TV through hdmi then fiber to polk audio soundbar has been working fine on 10.6.  I upgraded to 10.7 and now the audio cuts in and out.  When i go to audio and set it to internal speaker it works fine.  I didn't have any issues before the upgrade.  I did swap the hdmi cable with the one from my ps3 since it isn't cutting out, and it still cuts out on the mac running 10.7. Ideas?

Same issue here, and same fix. PRAM reset... twice! I actually held it down TOO long and it tried to prompt me to reinstall my OS which scared the crap out of me, but I just clicked the "reboot" button on the setup screen and it booted fine. Audio problem gone. Thanks!
