Audio stuttering in all browsers
I am having a constant issue with audio stuttering when playing videos, which has persisted for a couple of weeks now. This occurs in Firefox, Chrome and Internet Explorer.
I have tried downgrading to previous versions of Flash (including both 10.3 and a previous 11.X version), and (unless I am not doing this correctly) this has not fixed the issue.
I have even attempted to solve the problem by resetting Firefox, and then upgrading to the latest 15.0 beta, but this did not work as well.
Is there anything else I can do to resolve this issue, or is there something more fundamental broken with my machine? (I ask this as I have had problems with both Windows Update and a virus recently, and before these issues I did not have any problems with Flash playback.)
I am running Windows 7 on a Lenevo G570 laptop. I am currently using the latest version of Flash (11.3.300.268), and before I upgraded to the Firefox 15.0 beta I was using Firefox 14.1. (I believe that both Chrome and Internet Explorer are up to date, but I predominantly don't use these browsers.)
Hi,

Strange "Audio Stutters" in All Exports
Hello,
What I can only describe as "audio stutters" occur at seemingly random times in my Premiere Pro exports created with Media Encoder. They are very brief but noticeable intrusions that sound like glitches.
All audio sounds perfectly normal in Premiere; there are no problems on the timeline. I have tried the following troubleshooting steps:
Restarting the computer
Restarting the software
Cleaning Premiere's cache through the preferences panel
Changing the Renderer to "Mercury Playback Engine Software Only" in Media Encoder
Unchecking "Enable Parallel Encoding" in Media Encoder
These "stutters" occur in all exports; I have experimented with different projects stored on different drives, as well as with different formats (ie., H264 and Quicktime) and audio codecs (ie., AAC and MPEG).
The only way I have found to create an export WITHOUT "stutters" is by sending a sequence to Audition, creating a mixdown file, importing this file into Premiere, using it to replace the original audio, and then sending this single-audio-track sequence to Media Encoder.
I would love to be able to export from Premiere without having to run my audio through Audition. Any and all leads are welcome!
For your reference, I am running Premiere Pro CC on Windows 8.1, with a 3.60 GHz processor and 16 GB of RAM. I have 11 GB available for Adobe products. For what it's worth, I know for certain that I did not experience this problem prior to the 7.2 updates.
Thanks in advance!Clearing the Cache is best done outside of PP using Windows Explorer. You can get the location of those files under Edit>Preferences>Media...
(On a side note, this Cache cleaning could use some improvement. Please add your vote. http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1369263?tstart=60)
If that changes nothing, it would be helpful if you could upload a file somewhere for us to hear the issue. -
ALL Flash Audio Stuttering: YouTube, Pandora, etc
Within the last few days, something must have updated that is causing ALL my Flash Player streams to stutter miserably while playing in either Chrome or Safari. This inludes sites like YouTube, Pandora, Grooveshark, Spotify, etc.
I'm running Mac OS X Version 10.8.5 on a MacBook Air 1.3Ghz Intel Core i5, 8GB 1600 MHz DDR3.
Adobe Flash version is the latest version.
The stutter is an infrequent clicking that sounds like my speakers are being destroyed. Strictly a Flash problem because all local music and non-flash players play audio perfectly.
Please help or participate if you're having a similiar problem.
Best,
MMHello,
I use:
- a MacBook medio 2009
- OSX Mavericks (10.9.1)
- Latest Google Chrome version 33.0.1750.117
- Latest version of Flash Player at the moment (12.0.0.70)
I did the following in Chrome to get around the problem (in chrome://plugins/):
If I remember good, I've had the audio stuttering problem about half a year, a year, something like that. I'm not using my MacBook daily but when I played some music for example with YouTube , It annoyed me a lot that the music stuttered when I opened a new tab in Chrome or when I was typing when I Googled something. Also when loading a page or clicking a link the stuttering occured.
I tested If the problem occured when my laptop was plugged or unplugged but that didn't alter the behaviour.
I guess the problem just occures when there are two or more flash-plugin entries in the Chrome plug-in tab enabled. Why would you need two Flash Players to play a video or audio etc. anyway? I guess it's just some conflict between the two plug-ins but I'm just a simple guy that does a wild guess.
I hope you can do something with this info

Video/audio Stuttering on Macbook 13
Hi All
I have a mid 2007 Macbook 13 running OS X Lion 10.7.4. all up to date. Initially I had 4G's of ram ( I know it only reads 3 ) now I have it running on only 2.
Problem is video/audio stuttering when running movies. mostly netflix and or connected to a flat screen tv. on wireless or wired connection. but it also happens just running youtube videos or videos that I have on the system mostly in .AVI format. I could be running movies with VLC or quicktime and same ting. I've tried turning every running program off. like firewall, little snitch, sophos AV, etc. after turning them all off I do a restart. I have done permssion repair, checked the disk, run the daily scripts, even downgraded to SL to see if Lion was too much for the system and nothing. of of the 4G's of ram that I have. I swapped them to see if maybe one or 2 of them ware bad. when I install the operating system, I do a clean install. delete partition, format, the whole thing and bring it up to date. not all at one time. disk permissions repaired after each big updated. almost half the time the videos will run ok and than it starts stuttering. when is doing it. not even the mouse responds in those few seconds. is like something is grabbing all the system memory for a few seconds at a time. it has gotten to the point that the system completly frezzes and I get that black translusent window that says the system needs to be restarted.
I have about 40% free HD space.
Any ideas ?
ThanksWelcome to Apple Support Communities.
The behavior you mention is typical of MacBooks with the GMA 950 video chipset and 64MB VRAM.
The best solution I've found is to quickly pause the video and let the video load completely before watching, IF the website allows it and will preload the content. Not all of them do. Some sites automatically buffer before they begin playing.
Watch in a window rather than full-screen.
Watch content on your MacBook screen rather than a HDTV.
The Safari Extension "ClickToFlash" lets you choose whether to load Flash content at all. It also allows 'preferring' H264/HTML5 web video content when available, and seems to be a bit better than simply defaulting to Flash content for every website.
I have a mid-2007 MacBook 2,1 with 4/3GB RAM. It is the very oldest model capable of supporting Lion. After reading of performance issues with these older systems in these forums, I chose to remain on Snow Leopard rather than upgrading to Lion. Snow Leopard runs most things I do very well in 3GB. Lion really seems to need 4GB and would like 8GB, from what I read here.
You don't mention how fast your internet connection is. A faster internet connection MIGHT help some. A wired Ethernet connection MIGHT offer a bit more throughput than WiFi. Worth trying out, especially if you have a friend with a faster connection where you can try before you pay to upgrade.
Ultimately we're talking about 5-year-old computers. That's "ancient" in computer life cycles, and the best solution (not most cost-effective) is a new(er) Mac. It's not a problem unique to Mac. Old Windows XP systems lack the performance of new hardware running 64-bit Windows 7.
New or recent Refurbs with 4GB or more RAM, faster video chipset, more VRAM, faster clock-speed, Intel "Sandy Bridge" (or "Ivy Bridge" likely coming soon) dual-core or quad-core processor, and, yes, a hefty pricetag to match. Anything else is at best a temporary measure to buy a bit of time (a year, maybe?) until you can purchase a new(er) faster better Mac.

Audio stutters with WRT54G v7.00.1
Hi all,
Last week I installed the Linksys WRT54G V.7 router. Since then, my audio stutters every 30 sec/minute . Music and movies just freeze for a second, than continue, 'till it happens again. When I disconnect from the router, everything works fine.
My router is also connected to a Xbox 360 (wired) and a Nintendo Wii (wireless, wifi). I've checked the security settings with the router's webutility, I use WPA2 AES, Beacon Interval: 50, Fragmentation Threshold: 2306, RTS Threshold: 2307.
I've tried for days, but nothing works. I have a Sound Blaster Live Value soundcard. Could anyone PLEASE help me?? I'm getting really annoyed. Thanks in advance.
Greetings,
PaterOh really? I forgot to mention. The computer having the audio problem has a wired connection with the router. Could it be affected by the wireless antenna's?
But I could try it. Won't this have a negative effect on my wireless connections (Nintendo Wii, Notebook)? Does it matter wether it's the left or right antenna?
I'm not at home at the moment, but tomorrow night I'll try your suggestion. I'll let you know, ok?
Thanks in advance.

Hello All,
I am a newbie with encore, trying to put together a slideshow with audio and subtitles. I used VBR mp3 encoded using iTunes. I rendered this slideshow and checked the preview to find that the audio stutters.
Any idea if encore doesn't like VBR mp3?
BTW, I will be glad if someone could explain what encore did by 'rendering'?
ThanksIn fact, I have most of the collection in VBR mp3 format only but I can still make AIFF files out of the CDs those are with me (and most of the collection is back home with parents)
Is there any way around to work with mp3 files like exporting to wav and using them etc? I am sure there will be a quality loss but is such thing possible? -
Hello,
After my ibook has been on for a while I get intermittent but fairly consistent stuttering in all audio playback (regardless of app). I'm running 10.2.8 w/classic active but can't seem to narrow it down to a conflict w/any other app. It usually takes some time to occur but once it's there, only a restart will resolve it (until it starts happening again).
I recently switched out my 256mb chip for a 512, but if the ram were the culprit wouldn't it happen right away?
Thanks in advance for any ideasThanks for the response and ideas Klaus,
I tried what you suggested but, unfortunately, the problem persisted. I'm fairly certain it's not an issue of inherent speed of my machine or its architecture or the os or version of quicktime. The same machine w/same system, playing the exact same types of mp3 files, has been working without these stutters for a long time, and nothing has changed w/my audio apps or the os. Also, the stuttering occurs on all and any audio app, even ones that I believe don't use quicktime (VLC etc...). This problem started only recently.
My hunch is that it could be a bottleneck of some sort or RAM or cache not letting go of or not flushing unnecessary data, or maybe a conflict w/an another app (though almost none are running when the problem crops up and the ones that are have been in use for a year or so w/out these problems).
So if I take the machine/speed out of the troubleshooting, I'm left to wonder if it could be the new RAM I installed. But, again, the stuttering doesn't happen right away and sometimes takes a day or so of the machine being on to start happening. but once it does, it doesn't go away until a restart.
**If it were faulty RAM, would the problem show up right away?
**Or is it a corrupt preference file somewhere, but, again, wouldn't that cause the problem to show up right away, too?
Thanks again -
Flash player opens muted by default on all browsers
In the past couple days I have experienced an annoying issue where flash player opens muted on all browsers. This is WIndows 7 64-bit OS, the latest Flash Players, the latest browsers (IE, Firefox and Opera). I can unmute but having to do so every time I open a new video is DANG annoying! Is there any registry or hidden config settings that controls the opening state of audio for the flash player that I can modify...I have never seen this in years of using Flash Player...help please...
After reading more discussions and testing flash player on other sites that stream flash its obvious that the issues stems from YouTube...but this only coincides with the latest release of Flash Player. This indicates that Flash Player is allowing stream content to manipulate controls on the player...so how can we prevent this????Google has acknowledged a "glitch" in their YouTube code that is causing this. There is NOTHING that Flash Player has to do with it, and there is NOTHING that Flash Player can fix in YouTube's code. Google has stated that they are working on the fix this week.

Adobe Flash Player Plugin crashes in ALL browsers while accessing webcam
Hi,
I am struggling to get my adobe flash player plug-in working while accessing webcam.
It simply crashes in all browsers. I googled this issue and realized many users are facing this issue.
However I did not get any solution to fix this. I tried uninstalling/reinstalling plug-in multiple times but of no use.
Following are specifications:
OS: Microsoft Windows XP Professional (32 Bit) SP3
Browsers: Internet Explorer (8.0), Chrome (8.0), Mozilla Firefix (3.0)
Webcam: Dell monitor inbuilt webcam
Flash Player version: 10,1,102,64
Please note, the webcam is accessible through other applications (e.g. Yahoo! Messenger, Skype, Windows Explorer)
Also, Adobe Flash player doesn’t give any trouble while playing streaming videos on YouTube etc.
Trouble is only when flash player tries to access webcam through any browser (eg. while "Record from Webcam" on YouTube)
An interesting observation I like to note here, the device list that appears in the plug-in window is blank for both video/audio devices (See the area encircled RED in the image below)
Not sure, but just suspecting could this be potential reason for crash?
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks,
StrugglerHello all,
My doubt was correct. It was all due to the blank device list. After lot of struggle I found this solution worked for me:
1. As soon as the plug-in tries to access webcam, it will show you "Adobe Flash Player Settings" box
2. Click Deny then Close to close it
3. Now press tab key on keyboard. It will highlight (in yellow) and show list of devices in video device dropdown control (This could be little bit tricky and you need to put little bit more efforts to see the list). You can now select your webcam as device here.
4. Press Tab key again to go audio dropdown and select audio device.
5. Then right click and bring up "Adobe Flash Player Settings" again.
6. Under Microphone and Camera tabs, make sure we select same devices we selected in 3 & 4 above
7. Come back to privacy tab and this time chose "Allow" and then close "Adobe Flash Player Settings" box
8. You should now see the camera images in the plug-in
Conclusion: This is a workaround worked for me. Plug-in is quite unstable and there is definitely something here Adobe Flash Player plug-in developers need to do about.
Hope this workaround helps many other users.
Thanks,

Flash player crashing in all browsers for live video
The Flash video player is crashing all browsers when I try to watch live video (specifically, live feeds out of Egypt, notably Al Jazeera's live feed).
I'm on a MacBook Pro, OS X 10.6.6, using Safari, Firefox and Chrome browsers. In Chrome, I can hear audio for about 60 seconds - no video - and then it crashes. Safari & Firefox crash almost immediately. They all give me various messages about Flash crashing the browser.
I uninstalled Adobe Flash Player, then re-installed it, rebooted my laptop, etc. I checked all the player settings, and they're apparently set as they should be.
Any ideas? The same thing is happening to me in Safari, Chrome and Firefox. I cleared my cache, deleted my flash cookies, and reinstalled Flash. None of those worked to bring it back. It was working on a PC running XP yesterday.

Flash 11.1 runs only in Software mode in all browsers
Hi,
I have a problem that the Flash player runs only in Software mode in all browsers.
I have the following notebook: Dell Vostro 3350 with dual graphics (Intel HD Graphics integrated and AMD Radeon HD 6490M dedicated), the OS is Windows 7 64-bit.
The driver version that is in the device manager is the following: 8.840.7.3000 (I've made sure to have installed the latest driver from Dell)
The hardware acceleration radio button in the Flash settings is on, of course.
The funny thing is that in the Flash 11 Incubator program DirectX rendering was working properly, the problems have started since the RC version of Flash 11.
Can you help me somehow?
Many thanks,
CapKosmatyHey guys, I'm unburying this thread; I've waited a bit, hoping that an update would put my model from the blacklist, but there's no change;
Here's my dxdiag log: (could it be that Flash has problems with switchable graphics? I run different retail games, like Star Wars: The Old Republic recently, and they run perfectly on the Radeon HD 6490M)
again, I'm grateful for help!

We are experienceing a audio stuttering problem on playback. Very annoying. The ouputs are okay. It is just in the monitoring of audio. Any solutions? Thanks.
P.S. We are on a Mac and using AJA Kona 3 card.I am experiencing the exact same problem on two brand new toshiba laptops.
Definitely wi-fi related, my problem goes away if I disable wi-fi - But it seems to be much better on some wireless networks than others - I suspected the security encription - I changed to WPA 2 from WPA and things seemed to get better - but then after a week it went back to being bad again.
Skype, CD, MP3 on the laptop, youtube - all give the problem
Did you have any luck on solving the problem?

Audio stuttering in Yosemite iTunes, Mavericks OK
Ever since installing Yosemite, I've noticed a quite annoying problem: stuttering audio. I listen to music a lot and so iTunes has been the app that shows the problem the most. However, it's not as clear-cut as just playing audio on iTunes.
I've been trying experiments over the last few weeks. I've used tools like top and Activity Monitor, trying to determine if something is taxing the CPU for a split-second or not. Unfortunately, I found no concrete evidence of this. It's random, and it's annoying.
I've also quit all apps that could be causing it like Safari. The audio still stutters.
Symptoms: music played on iTunes will randomly stutter for a fraction of a second. Like a hiccup.
Tests:
iTunes with low-quality audio (64kps). Happens sporadically.
iTunes with high-quality audio (24/192, 24/96). Still happens sporadically, but no differently than low-quality audio. I thought maybe higher quality audio was taxing the system.
Music is on an external thunderbolt My Book from Western Digital.
Movies streamed from the same Thunderbolt drive do not have issues.
Music played using Quicktime from the same Thunderbolt drive does not have issues.
Music played using VLC from the same Thunderbold drive has issues, but not as often as playing through iTunes.
Movies and music streamed to my AppleTV do not have problems when played from the same Thunderbolt drive.
YouTube is OK. No stuttering at all.
So, something seems to be happening with iTunes on Yosemite, and sometimes VLC.
As a developer, I have a small partition for OS testing. I put Mavericks on there and copied some albums with high and low quality audio. Not a single stutter. Not one.
So the problem has to be Yosemite. It's obviously the same computer (mid-2011 iMac, 20GB RAM, 3.7 GHz i7).
I have no clue how to solve this problem. At first I thought it was some kind of Thunderbolt issue, but even with the Thunderbolt update it still happens, and doesn't happen at all with Quicktime.
The only wildcard is the strange stuttering I get with VLC but I'm wondering if it's a red herring.
So is it iTunes, or is there something wrong with the Yosemite sound system?
What can I do to check something like this?Linc,
I had not mentioned I already tried that, but when I tested it a few days ago, nothing came up in Console.
Just now, I tested it again. It looks like some kind of problem between the Alesis Multimix 8 driver and Safari, but when I quit Safari a few weeks ago the problem still occurred. I just tried it now and it didn't happen. I did upgrade the Alesis driver a while ago and I don't remember if I tried the Safari test before or after that.
Regardless, here's the dump. This does NOT happen every time there's a skip. In fact, nothing shows up in the log when there's a skip, but the dump below does show up when Safari is running.

Audio stuttering in podcast app, IPod 6th gen.
Audio stuttering in podcast app, IPod 6th gen. I don't know what triggers it, other audio is fine- only podcasts. Set on 1x speed. Affects all podcasts (not a media problem).
I can't see any setting that could be affecting it.Just tried that and did not work. Also I do understand and have made podcast lists in the app. The problem for me is that when done with the podcasts I can't just reach down and get my Ipod unless my truck is not moving. Think safety of everyone on the roads.

Audio stuttering problems with certain exported MP4 files
I'm currently running Captivate 6.1.0.319 on my old and decrepit Pentium 4 machine that has 4GB of RAM and is running Windows 7 SP1. I'm developing an online training course on RoboHelp 10 for Udemy, and they require all lecture files to be in MP4 format. Unfortunately, some of the MP4 files I generate from Captivate have audio stuttering starting a few seconds into the generated video and nothing I try fixes the problem.
All the videos are being recorded with video dimensions of 1360 x 978 pixels. I import the .cptc file I recorded into the .cptx file, and then I import an MP4 audio file into the .cptx file. When I finish editing the .cptx file, I publish it to an MP4 file using the highest video settings and the highest variable bitrate audio settings.
I have tried the following to try to fix the problem:
Turned off SWF compression.
Created a new .cptx file and copied the slide from the problem .cptx file into the new one, and published that new .cptx file.
Disabled all software operating in the foreground and the background.
Tried generating the MP4 file on my laptop; the laptop runs the same version of Captivate on Windows 8.
As I said, Captivate generates some MP4 files perfectly without any stuttering, and others have the stuttering problem. If this problem sounds familiar, it's because I wrote a couple of messages about this a few months ago and despite some good suggestions, I wasn't able to solve the problem. I've spent my time during the past few months trying to find another program that will convert SWF files to one of the formats Udemy supports -- MP4, MOV, or FLV -- without success. Captivate exports to SWF and HTML5 format files without any trouble at all. But MP4 generation is spotty and I need to get this resolved so I can get this project off my plate and start making money off it.
If you have any further questions, please let me know. I look forward to hearing your suggestions.
Thanks,
Eric ButowHi,
I am having the same issue and cannot figure out what is causing it, as it occurs randomly - but fairly frequently - when I publish to mp4. And it is not tied to the project - seems to be something happening during the publishing. The issue might occur one time when pubishing a project and if republished again it may or may not occur again. I would be very interested in finding exactly what is causing this and any step that are tested and proven for getting away from the problem.
