Audio suddenly quit on 55 inch tv

Question

we have a 55HT1U television that we purchased about a year and half ago. we were watching it today and all of a sudden, the audio just QUIT! all theother tvs in the house still work fine. this 55 inch still has a great pisture, but absolutely NO SOUND. any suggestions?

Start by updating your firmware. The notes say it "corrects various audio related issues."

If your firmware is already fully updated, try the following:
Try turning the TV off, unplugging it, and waiting a couple minutes. Then, reconnect it and try again.
If the problem persists, try restoring it to factory settings. Press MENU and select "Setup." Then select "Installation," "System Status," and "System Information." Finally, select "Factory Defaults" and confirm. Once the reset has been completed, it should turn off. Ensure the TV's off, and then unplug it from power. Wait a few minutes, and then reconnect it.
