Audio-Technica AT-LP2D USB Turntable ...

... how can I use this truntable to covert records in MP3 and/or iTunes Files?
I have 27" iMac 10.7.1 running 2.93 i7 w/12GB of Ram
Any help and suggestions greatly apprecaited

I was able to find the manual online:
http://www.audio-technica.com/cms/resource_library/literature/463931ea42c6e7d9/a t_lp2d_usb_software_om.pdf
Please save the document for future use. Beginning on page 15 it will advise how to use it with your Mac. If you still have difficulty I'd recommend contacting the manufacturer or also doing a Google search for Technica forums. Because this isn't an Apple product and IMHO is not a mainstream product the chances of finding someone familiar with it would be slim on this forum.

  • P7-1446s Hooking up a Audio-Technica AT-LP120- USB Turn Table Windows 8 64bit

When I plug the USB cable from my Audio -Technica AT-LP120 USB turn table into my HP p7-1446s,  I loose sound from anything else such as iTunes. The computer recognizes the turn table, it shows up as a "3-USB Audio CODec Default Communication Device" microphone. When I put an album on the turn table, the VU meter shows the turn table/ USB Microphone is out putting but I get nothing to the speakers that show up as "3-USB Audio CODEC Default Communications Device".  I'm running Windows 8 64bit. Thanks in advance.

I decided to use nouveau instead of nvidia and now I got my external an internal display working.

  • Audio problems with a USB turntable using Linein, right channel not playin

I have an Audio Technica usb turntable and I am using Linein software to get the audio in. I am now missing the right channel. I use the USB connection and I have tried different cables so that is not the problem. I also tried using the RCA cables, plugged into the micro phone/line-in port via an an RCA to single stereo adapter up which did not solve the problem either. In fact when I switched the red white, left right cables the sound still only came out from the left channel and subwoofer. Both channels work fine with Itunes so it is not the speaker system. I am thinking that it is a setting problem with the software either the Linein or Mac OS. Does anyone use Linein and what settings should I be looking at, Midi settings, Sound preferences? Thanks.

  • Recording noise using USB turntable

I'm getting intermittent distortion/staticy noise at times when trying to record my LP's using "Audacity" software (1.2.5 for Intel Mac) and an audio-technica AT-LP2D USB Turntable. It is random, and comes out of nowhere at any time when recording. Once it starts, it persists. I've been able to complete several LP recordings, but it's very frustrating. I have to abandon the recording and start over if the noise starts up.
I've changed the USB cable, used a different USB 2.0 port on the back of my iMac, reinstalled the "Audacity" software, and reinstalled the stylus assembly - nothing eliminates the noise.
The below is a quote from audio-technica Repair/Support when I asked them about this noise problem:
"...there is a known problem with certain Mac computers experiencing "distortion" when using USB audio devices. This problem is not exclusive to our product, and has been documented online by several USB audio device users. I believe this to be a USB audio driver issue. I highly recommend contacting the folks at Apple about this issue."
I've not been able find anything in Apple Discussions or Audacity Forum that point to any inherent problem with either the iMac hardware or the USB turntable. The very random nature of the noise problem would indicate a defect in the turntable USB circuitry. I might add that when I'm monitoring noise (on my iMac while recording using "Audacity"), there is NO NOISE monitored at a clock radio connected to the turntable (turntable "LINE" output to "AUX" input of the clock/radio).
Has anyone heard of this problem? Any suggestions?

Be sure to try disconnecting all other USB devices (such as hard drives and printers) while doing the recording. All devices except for your standard mouse and keyboard, that is. Since they all connect to the same USB bus, there may be some interference.
Alternately, you can connect the line output of the turntable to the audio input of the iMac (using an adapter for RCA to mini-stereo jack), and not use the USB connection. You can monitor the sound while recording with the play-through setting in your recording software, or by running this simple program called LineIn.

  • Audio technica turntable to mac mini

please help me sync my audio technica at-lp60, non usb turntable to my mac mini using garage band or itunes. i was told i could use either but i cant get mac to recognize the turntable. please be specific with each step because i am not tech savvy. thanks alot for any info.

Have you selected the Line In as the audio input in
Preferences->Sound?  Also, when in that pane,
there is an input level meter.  Play something on the
turntable and see if there is action on the level display.
    Also, open Applications->Utilities->Audio MIDI Setup.
Select the line in and see what it is set up as.
This is also another posibility, sometimes the plugs can
be a fairly tight fit.  It may seem like it is plugged in but may
need a little extra push to engage it completely.  Mine
    is like that.

  • Macbook Pro,USB Hub, Maschine, USB Turntable, Audio Interface

So I have a MacBook pro 13 inch. I'm also using Maschine and a USB turntable to sample from. My problem is I want a USB audio interface so that the audio comes out clearer on these KRK Monitors I have. If I get a USB hub will I be able to use the midi options with the hub using Maschine or have audio going in and out of the same hub with an audio interface? Please help

I get the same type of problem with my usb hub when my usb3-enabled hard drives are connected, but not all the time.
Without the usb hub i never have a problem, which seems like the hub is the problem.
Things started to happen when I started using usb3-capable hard drives

  • AT-LP2D-USB compatible with OSx 10.8.5?

I have an old Audio-Technica turntable AT-LP2D-USB, but don't have the Audacity program. Found on-line downloads, but didn't know if any of these will work with my 2012 IMac. Anyone have an answer? Should I just get a new turntable??
    Thanks, Dennis

This is an interesting thread.  How are you getting Logic X to run on 10.8 when the tech specs clearly say that the "minumum system requirement" is 10.9.5 or later?

I am still on Snow Leopard 10.6.8 and looking to upgrade but I see no need to go to Mavericks or Yosemite until the bugs are fixed.

  • USB Turntable Issue

    Hi,
I have an iMac, and I'm running OS X 10.6.5. I'm trying to use an Audio Technica USB turntable to convert LPs to MP3. I used this turntable on my old PC, it connected fine, and I had no issues. However I recently switched to Mac, and my iMac is not recognizing the turntable when I plug it into the USB slot. I know for a fact that it's not the USB port on my computer because it works for other devices. I highly doubt it's the cable, as it worked fine on my PC, and the record player has been sitting in a closet untouched for about a year. Has anyone else experienced an issue like this? Is there something I need to install in order to use my turntable?

I installed Audacity, but when I plug the turntable into the usb port, the turntable is not being recognized by my computer. Nothing pops up on the desktop
I did recording but did it all a different way. I haven't used your equipment so I am not speaking from direct experience.
I am not sure your turntable will appear on the desktop. If I plug my camera into my computer by USB it does not appear on the desktop but there are various Mac and manufacturer utilities that do see it.
As I mentioned before, you may have to change your sound input settings in the sound preferences pane. I refer you to page 15 of the manual that can be downloaded at: [http://www.audio-technica.com/cms/turntables/8b88447e3530f153/index.html>

  • Whwt is the best simple vinyl ripping software using usb turntable

What is the best simple vinyl ripping software using usb turntable?

    http://www.networkworld.com/reviews/2009/080709-review-5-usb-turntables-convert. html
    http://vinyl-converter-turntable-review.toptenreviews.com/
I've always been partial to Numark and Audio-Technica. Have several DJ friends and a client who runs a DJ business, and they use Audio-Technica stuff almost exclusively.
You may be surprised at how easy it is...
With the exception of cameras (webcams especially) Macs are pretty much "Plug &Play" with anything USB, and even though I've never used one, reviews say you just plug the turntable in and it reads as a drive.

  • I have a new (mid) 2011 imac and want to transfer my old records to itunes but i dont know what usb turntable would be best for a new mac that would have compatible software for ripping to itunes?

i have a mid 2011 i5 imac and i want to transfer my vinyl records to itunes but i dont know what usb turntable would be best for my imac that has compatible software for transfer to itunes

    Hallo,
I use an Akai usb turntable with the Audacity sw delivered with it. To monitor during recording I also use the LineIn utility (all this on a Macbook Pro with Mavericks).
It works fine, only the input volume of the usb audio port cannot be adjusted (at least I did not yet discover how to do it) and the volume of the music is lower than other music imported into iTunes from CD or iTunes store, but still acceptable.
    Success, Jean

  • Only one channel of audio recorded with external USB audio interface on DV6604nr

I only get on channel of audio when i hookup my Behringer UCA202 to my dv6604nr
vista 32 sp2 . The Behringer takes analog 2 channel audio and converts it to a digital signal.
This is using the Audacity software. The hardware and software check fine, though i tested them with an xp system.
Are there trouble shooting tips for these issues. I've updated the Audacity software and the usb drivers say their up to date. (?)

Come on... It's just like a usb turntable, only a little better quality. What steps would you use to troubleshoot one of those?

  • USB Turntables - Do they work?

I have some 1/2dozen LPs I'd like to convert to digital files. My old turnatable needs a new belt and cartridge and would not be convenient to my Mac even if I fixed it. Does anyone have any experience with these (USB turntables) on a Mac? Any suggestions about how to get some decent sounding tracks using one?
    Any and all help appreciated.

    Japamac,
Thanks for the very thorough response. The links were very helpful! The post on Flyingsnail contained an audio file of one of his conversions. Sounded great! You response convinced me that the Ion I've been considering was worth ordering. I plan to follow the advice in the links on your email to concert my LPs! Hope I can get similar results!
Now, do you know anything about analog-digital video conversion. I'd like to convert my VHS and Digial-8 tapes to DV files that I can edit in iMovie. Ideallly, I'd like something that would record direct to a hard disk unattended. I got real excited about JVC's 3-in-One DVM600 and 700, until I discovered you cannot mount their hard-drive. I also looked at some of the new Panasonic HDC camcorders that can also come with hard drives, but they have NO video inputs.
Do you have any suggestons (I am looking at the ADVC300 by Canopus, but haven't decided if it does what I want yet)?
    Thanks again!

  • Final Vinyl 2.5.1 & USB turntables

Can Final Vinyl v.2.5.1 be used with a USB turntable? If so, can I then import the digitized LP files into iTunes v.10.2.1 (1) ? Thanks very much.

I am told by Griffin Technology Technical Support that the 2 are compatible.

  • Audio output and left USB port is not working!

Hi! I have MacBook Air 13" late 2010, Audio output and left USB port is not working!
    What happened?
    Part No.: Z0JH000TE RS

If the left USB port doesnt work with an external mouse its seems to be a hardware malfunction of this USB port.
The newest BIOS is already installed?
Have you removed all USB ports from device manager and restarted your notebook?
If you have already tried this, contact an authorized service provider. The guys can try to fix this issue and it should be covered by warranty, if you still have warranty on this notebook. :)
