Audio timescale-pitch modification

hello guys
i am trying to time-pitch scale audio signals.im using labview 7 express and i was wondering if there is a way to capture a short audio file using just my computer's mic and then be able to insert it in labview for further processing.has anybody done this before?any help will appreciated.
i know that you can insert a wave file stored in you computer,in labview using the graphics&audio function.does that really help?how can you proceed further from that point and on?
in my project i will be using the TD-PSOLA algo to time and pitch scale the signal (which it will be monophonic or voice).has anybody worked or knows anything about this whole subject?any help or tips are wellcome
regards
alex

See if you have this file on your system, this will record the sound input to a wave file.
C:\Program Files\National Instruments\LabVIEW 7.0\examples\sound\sndExample.llb\Record Wave File.vi
Here is a vi to read that wave file.

  • Audio Edit~Pitch or Transposition for the Audio Wave

    Hi Expert,
I'm trying to Transpose or Pitch correcting for my whole Audio Wave (Pitch Machine)...but when processing is in progress...suddenly prompt out an error...unexpected quite for Logic Express....
anyone can give me a hand???
or does any other way to do the Pitch correction or Transposition????
    Ray

Well, you just use cents for finer control than a semitone. One example would be putting it on a track (voice, for example) and then if the singer was flat, push the cents up. Between semitones and cents you have 1200 degrees of pitch shifting available per octave.
Well, I can't tell you. In pro it is called pitch correction.. I think in LE you do but it is a lite version. In Pro it is in the Special Category when selecting inserts.
Enhance Pitch is I think what it is in LE.
If you want to control the paramaters over time, see Automation. You can then draw or record pitch shifting (or virtually any plugin paramater) and Logic will remember the movements and play them back, Automatically.
You can use the sample editor for file based (destructive) pitch shifting. Select the region/area you want shifted and then go to Factory>Time and Pitch Machine and apply.
    Cheers,
    J

  • How to make audio higher pitched on QuickTime

I was wondering if you can make noise higher pitched in/on QuickTime. If you can I would greatly appreciate if someone could help me figure out how to do that
    Thanks

QuickTime Player 7 has an A/V Controls window that can changed the pitch on an audio track.
QuickTime Player 7 for Mac OS X v10.6.3 or later
Don't be concerned over the version number and don't compare it to the newer version found in the Applications folder. It's the only version that can be upgraded to Pro.

  • Adjust audio shuttle pitch

Just curious if there's a way to turn off the "analog" audio pitch shift when shuttling through footage using either JKL or the shuttle puck? When I scan through footage at high speed, I can understand audio better if it doesn't sound like chipmunks.

I don't believe this is possible.

  • Audio Effect- Pitch

A couple of months ago I was able to go into Effects/ Audio and select Pitch.  I could very simply change the pitch of a song by .5.  Now after Final Cut Pro has had an update when I go into Effect/Audio there is either Pitch Correction or Pitch Shifter II.  I have gone into both of these effects but I can not figure out how to get the song changed by .5.  Can anyone please help me??

Select Effects > Audio > Voice -- at the buttom of the panel by the magnifier, type in pitch in the textbox.
You should have four Pitch related effects (and all of them will be in Voice.)
There are three sections (at least for almost all effect "classes"/categories): Final Cut (which is where you will find the Pitch effect you're looking for); Logic which contains the two you found: Pitch Correction and Pitch Shifter II; and the last in the Mac OS section (AU Pitch) which is basically the same thing as the Final Cut Pitch version, but is more "low-level". You can get into the specific parameters for each of them by clicking on the small icon that looks like a 3 - band equilizer - that will pop up the user interface dialog for the effect. You can also get into the specific parameters but turning down the disclosure triangle next to "Parameters".

  • AE audio problem - pitch

I am having an audio problem. The RAM preview plays my audio at a lower pitch. I made this screen recording including sound so you can hear it: http://cl.ly/2J471L3v0q3u
    I created a new project.
Add an AIF file to the project—but preview the sound clip first so you can hear how it should sound.
Drag the AIF into a new comp.
RAM preview (you notice the delay while it locks existing frames which seems to be another problem http://forums.adobe.com/message/4626528#4626528)
The RAM preview plays the first time through accurately but at a lower pitch the subsequent times.
    Mac Pro (early 2009)
    2 x 2.26 GHz Xeon
    24 GB RAM
    10.8
    AE CS6
    I've tried a full restart.
    Any thoughts?

After several restarts and repairing permissions I decided to shut the computer down for a moment. I fired it back up and the problem seems to seems to be solved—at least temporarily.

  • Logic Pro 7.2.3 - Pitch problem when opening audio from GarageBand 2.0.2.

Hi, I'm opening up a GarageBand file into Logic 7.2.3. All the synths open perfectly. However, the audio is pitched down as if it was recorded at a different resolution. I run Logic and GB in 44.1k, so I'm stumped. From the arrange window, if I double-click on the file and check it in the audio window that pops up, it plays back at the correct pitch. Any ideas what's going on?
    Thanks!
    Armen

I figured it out but thought I'd post the answer here in case others were having the same issue. I noticed to the upper left-hand corner of the arrange window that "Follow Tempo" box was checked. I unchecked it and the pitch is now correct.
The file default on my system opens up with the box checked .

  • Audio pitch control

    Hi all,
I am a Flash actionscript programmer. I have come across a
peculiar need in elearning courses I have developed so far.
Some of my users are not able to follow the speed at which
the audio in content pages reads. I have hundreds of pages like
that. I need to reduce the audio speed (pace).
Is there a way to slow down the audio speed (pitch) from the
actionscript or any other way in flash?
Any third party tool also welcome. please help me.
    thanks,
    Krishna,
    India

I'm not sure if flash can do that, but there is a free
program called Audacity, which lets you change the speed of an
audio clip. You can also add periods of silence to space things out
a bit more with Audacity. Inserting silence between sentences might
sound better than changing the overall speed, since that will also
likely change the pitch of the voice.

  • Changing Pitch in Final Cut Express 2

Is there anyway to do so? I know for certain that you can in normal Final Cut. I need to know this because I am teaching advanced audio techniques for my editing class and I want to show my students how to disguise voices, mix character speach, etc. Yet at my house I only have Express 2. Can audio's pitch be shifted in Express?
    eMac G4   Mac OS X (10.4.4)

Have you had a look for any AU plugins? I think FCE 2 supports them.

Only thing is it might not work with ones with custom graphics, which are probably all of above.

  • Retiming audio

    Hello everyone,
I know Motion (as well as FCP and all time remapping tools I know, except for After Effects) doesn't remap the audio. Hoping that anyone from Apple is reading this, I want to emphasize again that AUDIO IS ABOLUTELY NECCESSARY for many (that is about everyone working with action sports videos) for time remapping to be usable at all. The remapped audio is part of the effect and so far, there is no usable solution, other than After Effects, which is a shame, since the retiming behaviour in Motion is so great and the quality I got so far was amazing. I can't be that hard, can it? And while you are at it, why not add audio remapping without pitch shifting in Soundtrack Pro? Now that would truly be something ...
If anyone has found a nice solution to use Motion retiming without loosing audio I'm eager to hear them!
    Thanks,
    t

You can retime audio without pitch shifting in STP - and as of FCS2, you can send your audio to STP from either FCP or Motion.

  • EXS24 - how to affect speed when creating zones from regions

So what I want is to be able to change the pitch of a region without changing the tempo of the new region.
I convert a region to a new sampler track and then map it over say 5 contiguous keys. This allows me to play a loop in 5 different keys no problem, but the higher I go the faster the the loop plays. Is there a way to keep the same tempo and just change the pitch of the mapped loop?
    Thank you,
    paul

You'll have to make copies of the file and transpose them in "free" mode in the audio time pitch machine and then assign the transposed regions int the sampler. You could also use just the original sample and add a pitch shifting plugin which you could automate to change keys as needed.

  • Timeline won't play video but scrubs fine CS4

I don't know what I did, but the timeline won't play the video now in CS4, only the audio.  It scrubs ok.
I cleaned the cache. I tried the loop button, opening another saved project, and starting a new one.
Priemiere Elements works ok.  I'm not sure what I did, nor what else to try to resolve this..
Anyone familiar with this and know the solution?

  • Video malfunctioning upon import

When I import video as an asset or a timeline into Encore, the video is immediately choppy, and the audio is about 40 cents lower than the original. Help!

-MacBook Pro 2.6 gHz i7 running OSX 10.8.3
-Apple Pro Res 422 as .mov, 1920*1080, 35.8 GB
-The file length is actually 40 min long
-I am using the most current version of Encore CS6
The audio is pitched lower regardless of whether I import the ProRes or any other format I've tried.
Sorry for the newbie posts, I am a long time audio engineer/ editor, but just started getting some video work!

  • Sound cannot manipulated on TAD c

mabey someone has been in my shoes on this one
It appears that I cannot use AV VCS voice changer or the EAX Control Panel's audio effects (pitch shifter, voice morpher, etc.) through the TAD connector. I have the sound card hooked up to my modem and it works great for a regular phone conversation. I can record the conversation and even modify the sound coming of the TAD such as changing the way their voice sounds but, I just cannot change how my voice sounds to the other party. It's as if the sound card's mic jack has a hardwire directly to the TAD connector to bypass the dsp or any other kind sound processing when it is being sent through the TAD connector. I tried checking the "What U Hear" box in the recording controls but I still doesn't work. My previous card would allow me to apply effects before sending the sound out. It was a yamaha chipset. The sound card I'm using is a SB Li've! Value (Dell version) and the software I am using with my voice modem is BVRP classic phone tools. I posted this message a long time ago but no body responed. Please help somebody. Thanks for any contributions.

The Geniuses usually won't steer you wrong, but no one's perfect.
Try double clicking home to bring up the multitasking bar. Swipe to the right twice. There should be a volume bar. Adjust it the way you like.
Also, make sure the Volume Limit setting isn't on. Check in Settings > Music
If none of that works, I can't help.

  • Anyone work with Entourage Project Center?

A while back I bought the expanded version of Entourage that has "project center". It worked great for a couple of weeks, then whenever I entered a new entry on a date on the calendar, it moved it to the first of the month. Microsoft was not able to fix it and offered my money back! Anyone have that experience and/or a cure? I have been using ical instead, but I like the Entourage's ability to link to tasks, calendar entries, contacts and emails. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

    ibook g4   Mac OS X (10.3.9)

just to add. a few weird observations....the quicktime i am using has audio embbeded. so i click mute in the video settings so i dont hear it. (side note: a bug i hate is that mute is my default yet i have to go each time i load the project and click internal then click mute, for it to work) because i want to use the omf's dialog.
when i have the sound output of the video set to internal it plays perfectly in sync with my omf tracks delayed a bit. but the omf tracks dont delya at the same ammount all the time....they go in and out a fraction. also the embeded audio changes pitch at weird times too.
im running my project at 48k.
