Audio Timing in .fla Files

Hi, all. First things first, I'm not stupid with Flash, I've been using it for 2 years and this is so far the first problem that I have not figured out on my own. I'm making a flash movie and I have all of the audio timed out right in the .fla, but when i hold Ctrl+Enter to play the .swf, the audio is not timed right. I haven't expoted the video yet so I'm hoping that the file will be fine when exported. But if anyone has had this problem or knows how to fix it, please respond. Thank you!
Ps: In the file attached, (it is unfinished) the audio, "You talkin' to me?" should happen after the camera has already finished panning up to the man's head. Instead, the audio plays while the camera is panning upward.

yeah, thanks
i figured it out a few minutes ago actually =p
here's a link to the finished video, kinda short =p

  • FLVs dropped into existing .fla files?

We are working with a set of old files, first developed in
Flash 4 or 5. They contain text, audio, and embedded QT video, and
they were published as .mov files. We've converted the videos to
.flv files and now we need to link to the .flv files, using
progressive download, and keeping all the text and audio the same.
I've looked at every tutorial everywhere and cannot find one
that shows a combination of video plus text and audio. I can get
    the FLVPlayback to work
if I have nothing else in the file, and
if I leave all the frames left from the original audio and
put the video where the original .mov file was.
Otherwise, the movie doesn't play. The path is correct.
Actually, I just tested one where I removed the original .mov
and replaced it with the FLVPlayback, and this one didn't work
    either.
This is my 2nd request for help. I hope I've stated the
problem clearly enough that someone will say aha! and give me the
    solution. I am highly frustrated.
    Thanks.

That's not quite it. The old mov files contained embedded
video files in .mov format. I've converted the original videos from
.mov to .flv files, no problem. Now I basically want to replace the
embedded .mov file in the .fla file with a linked .flv file. What
    I'm doing:
    1. Open the old .fla file, convert to Flash 8.
    2. Select the embedded .mov file (the video), note the
    coordinates, and delete it.
    3. File->Import Video. Select Progressive download, locate
the .flv file, and get the FLVPlayback component into the same
keyframe and coordinates where the original .mov file was.
    4. Check the parameters for the FLVPlayback - path is correct
(same folder as .swf and .fla).
    5. Publish - No video plays.
If you can help me with this I will be deeply, deeply
    grateful.

  • Sound won't play in .fla file

How can I get sound to play in .fla again like it did before
    actionscripting control buttons?
When I installed control buttons in my .fla file for a
maintimeline movie to stop, start, rewind, and jump to end of
movie, sound would no longer play when running the playhead in the
.fla file. This is a disadvantage when it comes to trying to sync
    video to audio.
I have installed an additional layer in main timeline with
same mp3 file attached, published settings, and even assigned
actionscript play(); to sound layer and deleted sound layer with
control buttons, but sound still won't play from .fla playhead

  • Edit Audio Timing Menu - Not Playing audio

    Hi -
I have recorded my Audio in Audacity and am trying to IMPORT audio into Captivate 4. When I import this .wav file (that becomes a MP3 automatically from CP4) - and try to Edit Audio Timing to set my slides with the audio - I cannot get it to play any sound.
    Mute is not on
There are wave form across the slides
The audio will play when I publish it (however, it plays across the wrong slides because I haven't been able to set them yet)
I have tried to import multiple different .wav files in different CP4 projects
    I am using Windows 7/Office 10 - 32 bit
I have downloaded the fix for audio for Vista included in a blog post, still cannot play the sound
If you can help - please let me know!!! I am struggling as this is the last few steps before I give this project to my customer.

  • How in Flash CS4 to change text words of .fla file from a website template?

I have a website template in which I am trying to change the header text words and menu text words to customize the template. How do I do this in Flash CS4? Thanks!

There are any number of ways these text elements might have been designed into the file.  So you pretty much have to search for things.  If you do not see the text that you want to change when you open the fla file, then you may need to either make some layers visible that are not (eyeball icon next to layer name) or you may need to look into the actionscript code to see if the text is being dynamically written when the file opens.  If you happened to receive any .as, .txt, or .xml files with the template, the text elements may also be defined in those files.
Just so you know, and this is just an observation, it appears from experience in these forums that template designers tend to make templates so that you are more likely to hire them to update things than to be able to solve it yourself.

  • Can't open PC .fla file on Mac

I have searched archived messages and although there have
been posts about this, no one seemed to have any answers. So, I
thought I would ask again. Oh, and please don't laugh!
My company had a web site built back in 1998-1999. The
outside person they hired to do the site created a Flash animation.
I do not know what version was used or for sure what platform (PC
or Mac). I do have the .fla files as well as the .swf files to work
with, but when I try to open them I get this error message.
"This document contains embedded objects that were created
with Microsoft Windows version of Flash. These embedded objects
must be deleted before opening on a Macintosh."
I am trying to open the .fla files using an old Mac version
of Flash 4. (Yes, I said please don't laugh!) My company will not
allow the resources to buy an upgraded version. Can anyone tell me
why I am getting this message? How I can open these files? or
ANYTHING I can do? Thanks for the help.

i think your company's lack of resosurces allocated to
software updates has finally caught up with
    them :p
The only thing you can do is find flash 4 - install it on a
pc - open the FLA and well...come to
think of it - i have no idea what that error could mean - FLA
    files are cross-platform. Original
author must have embeeded windows video files or something -
i cant even remember what flash 4 did
or did not support. Flash 4 didnt have a dependant files
    feature (i dont think).
chances are the error is generic and the real issue is that
the file is old and possisbly corrupt. I
dont have flash 4 anymore but you could post the fla to see
if it can opened at all - on PC and/or
MAC - then try downloaded the 30-day trial of flash and
editing it - or search ebay for flash 6 or
even 7 at a cheap cost.

  • How can I convert a flash object on a webpage to a fla file?

I made a flash effect for my friend's site and he won't let me get the flash back after a fight. I can see the effect on the homepage of his website. Is there any way I can get the flash to an fla file on my computer? Is there any way I can find the swf file on his websites system and convert it to an fla? Please help, thanks.

Open the web page where this swf is placed then go for the source code by right clicking on page anywhere. Then find the name of the swf file like if the name is myFlash.swf then search it but if you do not know the name then just search .swf you will get the file path on your friend's web. like it would be yourFriendWeb.com/flash/flashFile.swf or what ever is the name. Then copy the link and paste on your web browser and when the swf is opened then save it by going to File menu.
Now you have the swf file on your PC. Now the task is to convert it to fla. This thing can be done by a flash decompiler like Flash Decompiler Trillix. Decompiling will end up with your orignal fla file.

  • How can I copy layers from one .fla file to another .fla file?

    Hi,
How can I copy layers from one .fla file to another .fla file? Please do help.
    Thanks.

Select all the frames you want to copy, right click and select copy frames then select the file you want to paste them into and right click again and then paste frames.
The layers the frames are should come across with them.

  • How can I extract only the audio as an aiff file?

Using a Sony DSC-N2 Cybershot Camera I recorded video that was saved as “MOV01606.MPG”. The video plays back with sound in Quicktime Pro and iTunes but how can I extract only the audio as an aiff file?

Use MPEG Streamclip (free) to convert your .mpg files to QuickTime formats.
QuickTime can't extract audio from muxed file formats.

  • (How can we) Import Flash Professional .FLA file format?

How can we import a Flash Professional .fla file format into Flash Catalyst? It would appear that we can't...at least not yet! I have added this as a feature request within the adobe labs site for Catalyst. Someone at Adobe suggested that I also explore the forums, so here we are. If you would also like to have this feature added, please let Adobe know by promoting the
    idea.
Our use case is this: we have a large Flash file with a library of over one thousand skins and assets that were built in Flash with Adobe's Flex Skins Templates. These stateful, graphical skins were used within a custom theme by several Flex 3 projects.
Now that we are looking to migrate to FlashBuilder 4, and start to use Spark components, we are trying to find a workflow that allows us to use Adobe tools and to reuse our existing vector artwork. Since we have such a large number of assets, we are exploring various approaches, including the use of JSFL. So far we haven't found a good way to migrate from Flash-built skins for Flex 3 to Catalyst-built skins for FlashBuilder 4.

    Hi Ajay,
    See attached V 7.0 example...
    Hope it helps,
    Nick

  • Can you copy multiple audio (text to speech) files from one slide onto a new slide at once?

Can you copy multiple audio (text to speech) files from one slide onto a new slide at once? OR do you have to copy and paste each line of text to speech and insert into new slide?

    Hi there
I believe that you end up with a single file that you can use. Once you get that created, it's an audio file in the library. You may then add the audio file to another slide or object by looking in the Library after choosing to add audio.
    Cheers... Rick

  • Export QuickTime file with new audio and maintain the file size and quality as the original.

I shot some footage for a client yesterday and ran into an issue. To make a long story short I have QuickTime mov files shot with my Panasonic GH4 that have a buzzing sound in the audio track. I have clean audio from a recorder that can be sync'd. Is there a way for me to do this for the client and deliver them as the same QuickTime file but with the clean audio and keep the file size close to the original and not have quality loss in the image?
If so I will probably put all of the spanned clips together from each interview and sync the audio before delivery. I am just not sure which codec will give the client the same quality footage compared to the originals and not have a massive difference in the overall file size. They did request that they be Quicktime MOV files though so that is a must.
I don't see this as an option in the codecs in the export settings in PP, but is there a way to export as ProRes or another MAC native codec that will save them from having to convert it on their end? I am on a PC with Adobe CS5.5 so I am not too familiar with MACs, but from what I understand they would need to convert the files if I sent them straight out of the camera.
I found some related search results for this but they pertained to "Best quality" for export. I am not sure how the varying options work but I don't want to create files that are considerably larger, just not less quality.
If anyone has experience with this it would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Cole

Here's the workflow: I imported the video footage into iMovie '08 and did my edits. Then I exported it (share) to my desktop with compression set @ 740 X 480. Then I used QuickTime Pro to fix the audio track. The file plays perfectly with both audio tracks working. It's a QuickTime file (.mov).
I hope this jars any replies as to why the file when uploaded to my iWeb gallery drops the second audio track.
    Hmm,
    Jack

  • Getting Error in opening a fla file in flash 8

Hi I use flash 8 to edit my projects, recently I got a website related to music downloads and it was built in flash, now when I try to edit the fla file it opens up in flash 8 but I cannot see the library and when I edit it and make some changes in it it saves but it doesnt work like the original one.
any suggestion would be really helpful.
I think it has something to do with older/newer version of flash ?

If it's a flash cs3 fla, then you might have a lot of problem since cs3 has new features that flash8 cant take care of.

  • No Audio on MPEG-1 files since upgrade to 7.0.2

I recently upgraded to QT 7.0.2 as well as having to re-install DVD Studio Pro 3 (and did them in that order). I have QT Pro.
Since then I can't hear any audio from Muxed MPEG1 files (so, lot's of stuff online) although the EQ meter in Quicktime is still registering the sound. Additionally, the MPEG1 files playback really choppy and usually freeze (the image quality looks a bit rough too).
    All other formats are fine.
I do have some DivX components, but had removed them. FYI, this is the list of components installed (including the DivX ones):
    3ivx D4 4.5.1 for OSX
    AC3 Codec.component
    AppleIntermediateCodec.component
    DivX 5.component
    DVCPROHDCodec.component
    FCP Uncompressed 422.component
    FFusion.component
    LiveType.component
    Toast Video CD Support.qtx
    I have so far tried:
Using the 7.0.1 re-installer (no joy there)
    Re-updating again to 7.0.2
Removing the DivX components (no joy there)
Ensuring the Pro Apps update was installed (fixed another bug in DVDSP, but not the MPEG1 issue)
Ensuring the latest update of DVDSP 3 (don't have the need for 4).
Anyone got any ideas? It's a real pain.
(My next thing will be to roll back to QT 6) and work my way up again.

    For me the fix worked at the 64KHz - 2ch/24bit setting (iMac G5, 1.8GHz, 768MB RAM, QT7.0.3).
But, I must say, it's quite unacceptable on Apple's part not to make sure to notify those who update to 7.x.x in good faith and trust that there is this tiny change needed in some settings. I spent several hours downloading re-installers, trying to roll back to QT6.5.2, and then this wouldn't work, and I had to go back up, download third-party software to use with my muxed mpg's, and, while doing all this, suffer my first real (and frightening...) black-screen crash after more than a year of use.

  • IPhone 4S keeps playing audio from a video file that is no longer on my phone.

If I'm listening to music and try to change tracks or pause with the earbud buttons the music fades out and starts playing audio from a video file. It will only play about 3-4 seconds and then stop. This also will happen when double clicking the home button to try and change tracks. When I do that the track skipping buttons won't work and there's no title for the short bit of audio that plays. The only way to get music to start playing again is to go into music and press play again. The music I had been listening to is sitting there paused. The audio from the mystery video file still sometimes plays even when you're in music and the only way you would know is the little play icon at the top right part of the screen. I have removed every video off of my phone and it still does it. This is really frustrating.

Sounds like a bad battery.  You'll need to bring the phone into Apple for evaluation.
I'm sure you've been using your phone as designed and properly backing up your data, so you should have minimal, if any data loss should the phone need to be replaced.
