Audio tracks only playing the reverb portion

I'm having an issue with recorded audio tracks not getting played through the output properly. The only audio that I hear is related to the reverb effect on the track. I have been working on this project for a few days and it just started happening this morning. Everything was working fine before I saved it last night.
Example - I have a vocal track. I see via the track mixer the audio is playing but I barely hear any sound. I just hear reverb. If I turn the reverb plugin off (Im using the default GB reverb), I don't hear any audio. It's as if there is a hidden "send" track for the reverb, and the audio track is getting routed to the send track, but not the master track. That's why I only hear the reverb. Since the GB interface is so simple, I don't see a way to edit this or even check it. It's just my guess based on using other DAWs.
If I create a brand new track and drag the audio from "the bad track" - the audio plays. I have to re-add all the plugins I was using to the new track, which is annoying, but at least I have a workaround. I just don't understand how this happened. I seriously did nothing in between the time it worked and it stopped. Last night, everything was good. I hit save and closed. Then this morning I woke up to resume my work, and nothing was playing.
If anyone has a solution for this, please let me know. Mixing is already a time consuming process. I don't need to add more time to the process.

I'm using Garageband 08 - Version 4.1.2

Since this was pointed out, I've left the "ducking" section as viewable. I just noticed that when I dragged a new .aif file into a new track, it triggered all of the other tracks ducking to be enabled - upwards. The yellow arrow. The new track was ducked under, downwards, or blue arrow.
I'll continue to keep an eye on it for any other patterns.

I would try plugging in the HDMI from the ATV to a different HDMI port on your TV and even trying the ATV on a different TV altogether...sounds like the HDMI port on your TV might be bad or a bad connection. Keep in mind you'll need to switch the TV input to the new HDMI port

Web Quicktime playing audio track only

When I access websites that provide streaming MPGQuicktime movies, only the audio track will play. I can't see any pictures.
This has only recently happened. If the site is providing WMV videos they play OK no problem.
I am using 10.3.9 and have installed the latest version of Quicktime but still no luck

Ok. This works. Sadly, I did not try the solutions one step at a time (remember the scientific method?) so I'm not sure which one was the fix. However, the Quicktime files now do play on apple.com/trailers or any other site with QT videos.
STEP 1: I did this one first and it is taken from another thread an posted by Baby Boomer:
Save and/or quit your applications & doucuments
Go to Applications>Utilities Folder
Click Disk Utility
Click the Volumn (HD) that you want to check.
Click the Repair Disk Permissions button. (Don't worry about verifying)
At the bottom of window when the repairs have finished, you will see the “most important thing”:
Permission Repairs Complete
The previliges have been repaired or completed on the selected volumn.
Restart your computer.
STEP 2: This one I did next and it was posted on anther thread by Borntostrum:
Go to HD> Library> Internet Plugins> Delete Quicktime Plugin.webplugin and restart your browser.

ITunes 10 will only play the first track of a CD, including brand new CDs.

I reinstalled my operating system and had to reinstall iTunes. Now I have version 10 and after I import a CD it will only play the first track then progressively go track by track skipping through the rest without playing. Does it even whether I try to play from the CD or from the music section I imported it to. Even have 3 brand new CDs that it is doign the same thing to, so I have a hard time believing it is a disc reading issue.

the laser of a CD player can't physically read DVD media. All professional cds with dvd tracks are created via the DualDisc method. One side cd, the other side DVD.
The process is acheived at the replication house.
This can be created via dvdsp by sending the replicator your dvd project and the audio cd and they sandwhich them so to speak.

Folder mutes audio tracks (only)--why?

I'm a bit baffled by this one: I have a folder in a current project in which all audio tracks have somehow gotten muted. Oddly, the software instruments in this folder are not muted. The mute button for the folder is not selected. If I pull an audio track out of the folder, it does become unmuted. I suppose I could pull everything out and pack a new folder, but this folder is fairly complicated, and I don't want to have to do it over again. Is this situation the result of a preference that somehow got selected, or is the folder corrupted?
Any suggestions appreciated.

Let's make sure that we're talking about the distinctions between what happens when you use the mute tool, when you mute a track, and when you mute a channel. The mute tool will only mute multiple regions (no matter what they are) if multiple regions were selected in the first place. Otherwise, if you have only one region muted, using the mute tool will only mute that region. A black dot will appear (should appear) on any region muted with the mute tool.
If you mute a track, all instances of that track will be muted in the arrangement. So if you have a vocal comp spread across multiple instances of Track 1 (to allow for overlapping regions, keeping multiple (but muted) takes/phrases, if you mute any instance of Track 1, all of them get muted throughout the song. So you could have a folder with stuff on 5 instances of Track 1, another folder with 10 instances of it, and 2 instances in your Arrange window (that would be pretty sloppy programming, but whatever). And if you muted any of those Track 1's, they'd all mute.
Then there's channel muting. It's equivalent to muting any and all tracks assigned to that channel, but it mutes the audio at the channel (meaning it's pretty much instantaneous when you hit the mute button) as opposed to muting audio from the track level (where there's always a bit of a delay if audio's playing and you mute the track).

If your country's iTunes Store allows you to redownload purchased tracks, I'd delete your current copy of the track and try redownloading a fresh one. See the following document for instructions:

Otherwise, I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the item that is not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the item, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" link next to the item.

Audio track not playing back (appears greyed out)...

I just recorded a bass part and the region appears in the track with Audio Data but doesn't play back within the context of the song (arrange window), but does play when I double-click the region and scrub through the Audio window. The region appears greyed out in the Arrange window. It's really weird because everything else plays fine including loops I am using in the other Audio tracks.

Sounds like the region may be muted. Try using the mute tool and click on the region to unmute (or select the region and type 'm' on your keyboard).

My dvd only plays the left speaker of my song...

Hello everyone. I recently exported onto a dvd from adobe premiere 2.0 that included a song that i had recorded in mp3 format.
In the song, some of the instruments come out of the left speaker, and some come out of the right. When i play this video on a standard dvd player through a television, the mp3 only plays the audio that is supposed to come out of the left speaker, but it plays it through both speakers. This renders many of the instruments unhearable.
When i play it through a computer, though, with a dvd decoder, it plays everything perfectly.
What should I do?

MP3's are very often problematic. First, I would check your source file in G-Spot, to see what it reports, 2-channel, or 1-channel.
Personally, I always convert ALL MP3's to PCM/WAV and Import those. This eliminates the issues, and Audition (or the freeware, Audacity) can do this easily. The only exception will be tiny SFX files, and most are mono anyway. Where did your MP3 come from?

What happens when playing the same books in iTunes. Is there sound after 15 min?
If also silent in iTunes, check the info tab where you can see the item is an audiobook, etc. Check the volume bar, this normally is on the zero point.
When an audio book is really low in audio, I tend to move this to the plus side (+1=max), but for some strange reason this bar was at -1 in some books I had and they also seemed to play in absolute silence.
