Audio Turned off in Render Queue

Hi all,
I have used the render queue to render a comp consisting of 1 audio track and various still images. When the render was complete I played it back, but their was no audio.
I revisited the render options and noticed under output module the output audio was off.
I have no options to correct this as it was just black and not blue text.
I also checked the preference menu, but cannot find anything their either.
I noticed the format option was set to Windows Movie
Using AE CS3 Pro
Any ideas?
Thank you in advanced
josel

In the output module, you just have to check to "audio output" and you will have audio. It is not selected by default.
Be aware that some kind of output modules does not suport audio such as still sequences. If you select any kind of standard muxed output such as Quicktime, h264, avi, windows media,.... you can check the audio output.

  • Machines 'dropping off' the render queue

    Hi guys,
         We have Windows 2008 server as our centralized storage.  All the render machines have the shared folders mapped correctly with all the permissions set.  We are using After Effects CS5.  What we are finding is that after a few comps have been rendered in a multi-comp project, some will drop off the render queue.  What happens is that the render window list disappears and the watch window pops up and keeps cycling as if it's 'lost' the project is supposed to render.  Usually, if we reboot or restart the render engine and go back to the watch folder, it "might" pick up the project and carry on rendering.  All the machines are on Windows 7 64-bit.
    Any suggestions?
    Jason

    This is a known state, but not directly AE's fault - one of your machines is not able to access footage items within a specific limit and this effectively also shuts down other machines because they, too, go into this waiting forever state. Ultimately it boils down to too many machines trying to access the same files or directories and clogging up your network. The only way to avoid it is to ramp up your network bandwidth or e.g. instead of working with compound movie clips, work with image sequences.

  • Strange audio issue when running render queue via script.

    The issue I'm having with AE is odd, and I'm hoping someone may be able to shed light on the matter.  I have a very simple composition that, when I render out using the GUI, everything works as expected.  The video renders fine, the audio renders fine, etc.  However, when I invoke a script that runs the .aep file, sets the render queue for the composition in question, and then renders it, only the video comes through, but no audio.  There is nothing in my script prior to the setting up of the render queue that alters any audio layers (i.e. no code shutting off audio, etc.)  Has anybody ever encountered this?  The audio file is a .wav in 44.1KHz, 16bit, stereo, and will try other formats to see if the problem might with the file itself?  Although, I don't see how that would be the case if it is rendering just fine via the GUI.
    Any help you can offer for troubleshooting would be great!  Thanks for your help and time!

    Thanks for your suggestion.  It wasn't the output module.  I created a custom template for it and ensured the audio was checked.  It was an odd fix.  I deleted the audio layer, then dragged it back to the timline.  Then, it worked.  Cost me like two hours of work for that, and I should have checked it earlier.  But I still don't know why the original wasn't working.

  • Audio turns off

    Hello there,
    A few days ago I installed Archlinux on my Compaq 6710b. I got it all to work. I installed kde and everything wend fine but when I changed a few network settings and I rebooted (via console) it booted into a console login. I looked to my settings again, saw I made a mistake, corrected it and rebooted again, yess kde turned up. But now I noticed that my mute light touchbutton is on and I have no sound after boot. Thing is, when I turn it on (sound), after a while it turns itself off (sound off, light on) again. I don't know what's happening but I remember in Sabayon linux I had the same problem ones when I pulled out the cable after it hanged. So maybe it has something to do with the wrong reboot. When it doesn't turn off right, and I do it manually. In Arch however, I rebooted via console in kde.
    Hope someone can help...

    found it
    It has got something to do with the booting and turning off, but anyway, the alsalevels were muted. So with alsamixer I unmuted them and putted them in the right levels again. Now it works again.
    Hope it works for you too... I have the same driver, the popping I'm not sure off.

  • Masking Turns Off After Render

    Hello,
    I'm on a Mac Book Pro:
    16GB of Memory
    2.6 Processor
    OS: 10.9.2
    I'm working in the latest version of Premiere Pro CC (2014)
    Here is my issue:
    I've been using the new masking option quite a bit; mainly the Crop tool, then masking with it.  I've been noticing that after I render, the mask I've created will flicker on and off, or will just not be there after I render.  This has happened with 1080 footage shot on a Sony camera, and RED RAW footage.  I've found that sometimes, when I change the Field Options the mask will come back.  Not sure if this is a bug, something I'm missing?  Has anyone else been experiencing this?
    Thank You!

    I've worked out my problem. I didn't realise you had to use the actual edge wipe within the mask. I thought when the mask was being used the edges of the mask worked in the same way (as a replacement) as the crop edges do, negating the need to use the left, right, top or bottom crops. Now that I crop one of my edges completely the mask does all the work as a wipe. It still a little confusing but its working so that's the main thing.

  • Noisy audio +  audio output turns off / on - annoying

    The audio out on a MBP (10.5.4) turns off after about 30 seconds, then turns back on when it makes any sound such as an alert sound, playing a song in iTunes / Quicktime, etc...
    Case and point: Listen with headphones (or with your ear close to the laptop speaker) and do something that requires audio - e.g. just duplicate a file using Apple+D, you'll hear your alert sound. Then listen for 30 seconds - you will hear a faint hiss (with good headphones), then a click/pop as the audio turns off. WHY?
    And this is really annoying: there is also a click/pop sound when you start to play something if the audio has turned off, i.e. the audio output has to turn itself ON again. Plus, in iTunes there is digital distortion and some very faint high-frequency hums.
    I have my old PowerBook G4 sitting next to this MBP and it does NOT do this. So it begs the question: Why does Apple have to change things like this? Why change the audio output to turn off after 30 seconds? How is it that iTunes on a MBP creates digital distortion?
    There is NO digital distortion within iTunes on the Powerbook G4. (I compared the same exact track from iTunes on the MBP to iTunes on the Powerbook G4.) There is NO digital distortion when playing audio through Quicktime on either laptop.
    I don't get it. Apple/Mac should be improving their products. They bought Logic 8 from Emagic! That must mean they are interested in audio, yes? Then WHY cheapen the audio outs?
    This is essentially a post to see if there has been any fixes for this problem, or to see if Apple/Mac really care or noticed. I hope it is the former.......

    I have a brand new Macbook Pro Unibody 15'', which presents the same issues, but with some peculiarities. I have M-Audio reference speakers, connected with an analog cable minijack to RCA cable (note: they work perfectly when connected to the ext. firewire audio interface..) .
    The weird thing is related to whether I have the power cord plugged in or not:
    - with the magsafe power cord plugged in I only hear the intermittent "high pitched noises" described here: http://tech.kateva.org/2007/06/macintouch-review-audio-noise-in-new.html. They are apparently random .
    - when I unplug the power cord I can hear all kind of sounds and noises: I can hear the harddrive spinning and seeking, a "fixed" background hum noise, more noises even when I type or move the mouse or use the trackpad.
    UPDATE: When the external audio interface is not plugged in (it's a M-Audio firewire solo) I hear no more noises from the internal audio output ! Must be all related to some grounding issues of the audio interface.

  • There needs to be a way TO TURN OFF this audio-killing feature.

    I've written in Apple's suggestion form several times during the past two and a half years, but iChat seems quiet forgotten since Leopard. So now I'm wondering if there's a hack-like way to fix this.
    My girlfriend and I are in a long-distance relationship.
    I live with a roomate on a 11quartermaster who can be quiet noisy. She lives in a family-packed home.
    iChat has a tendency to gradually mute the other person if loud audio is coming from one side. This feature is useless. Skype doesn't do it, and we always have clearer audio. But Skype has far less features, iChat theater for watching films and sharing music and pictures with one another. Screensharing for giving techsupport, group video for free (How the &%#€ does Skype charge for P2P chat anyway?)
    So, is there any way to disable this "Smart" audio leveling/normalizing feature? Oh and while I'm at it, is there a way to make calls autoresume if connection is lost? A session can easily last 3 hours, sometimes 6+, saying something for a long time, thinking you can be heard only to find out it's saying that there was no connection for 10 seconds, is quiet frustrating when it happens several times a day, every day of the year.
    Thanks in advance! Willing to use any terminal-based fixes!
    What we did to troubleshoot: Turn off and on the "recude ambient noise" in sound settings, as well as both using headphones. I asume the feature is to stop feedback, but feedback is impassible with headphones (As long as they are volumed responibly)

    Hi,
    On the sound front you seemed to have tried most things.
    From the way you started I was thnking of Headsets but I se you have tried them as well.
    I generally keep my Volume on my computer fairly low.
    I then use this AppleScript that is linked in the iChat Video Invites in the Alerts section of the Preferences so it is auto Triggered.

    You could take the second part of this and set it in a loop to keep resetting the volume every few seconds.

  • How can I turn off the sound from the original midi  or audio tracks when I turned on the duplicate tracks for editing ?

    How can I turn off the sound from the original midi or audio tracks when I edit or listen to the duplicate tracks in Logic Pro 9 ?
    I'm using iMac desktop with Mac OS X Version 10.7.3. Pls advise.

    Dan,
    It sounds like one of your preferences has changed.
    Go to preferences > audio > general, and make sure "track mute/solo" is set to "CPU saving (slow response)". It is probably set to "Fast " at the moment.
    This setting (fast) basically causes immediate muting from the channel strip while your song is in play. This is because the audio is still being read from the hard drive, but the channel strip is simply muted.... like a hardware mixer. When set to "CPU saving", the audio from that track, when muted, is actually stopped from streaming from the hard drive, but there is a couple second delay before the audio is actually muted.
    One would think that the fast setting is generally preferable, except when you need to do what you are doing. The only way to keep duplicate copies of channel strips acting independent of one another is to leave this setting on the "CPU saving" setting.
    Hope that helps

    I am using earphones, but the external audio of my mini ipad is still on. How can I turn off the external audio while listening with my headset/earphones?

    Other than iMovie, GB always incorporates the audio files into the GB package. So just save or move the GB project to the external drive, and you're done - anything you import, edit or record will be saved to the external drive.

    I have been testing the Curve 8330 regarding streaming audio from an icecast server. The address of the station is http://www.AirProgressive.org, click on "listen". (I have already run this by the icecast experts and they say it is a Blackberry "bug")

    So, to stop the streaming server from communicating with the Blackberry handset, you must either turn it off or disable mobile network for at least 5 minutes.
    It appears that the handset continues to transfer data (and therefore incur charges, if the user does not have an unlimited data plan) if the handset is not turned off or mobile network disabled for at least five minutes. It also runs down the battery much faster because the radio transmitter is actively being used, even if the user is not listening to the stream.
    The Blackberry network has intervening servers that continue to receive data from the streaming server even if the handset is off. This behavior likely has utility to deal with the realities of the cellphone network, to allow the stream to be transferred from one cell to another, and deal with the possibility that the handset may be out of range for up to 5 minutes without "interruption." However, it is hard to turn off the stream.
    QUESTIONS:
    1. Is there a way to stop this sort of behavior using a configuration setting or something? It seems particularly stupid to start a new stream connection each time a STOP/START cycle is completed, allowing the old connections to continue streaming data (even if the data does not make it to the handset).
    2. IS IT TRUE that the user will be "charged" for the data streams that are not disconnected?
    3. Is there a way for a developer to send a signal to the intervening cellphone network to discontinue the orphan streams?
    THANKS!!

    No, I'm using something like this :
    to start...
                       channel = new SoundChannel();
                                            soundPlay = new Sound();
                                            urlReq=new URLRequest;
                                            urlReq.url=mylUrl;  // url of radio mp3
                                            soundPlay.load(urlReq);
                       channel = soundPlay.play();
    to stop it...
                          channel.stop();
                          channel=null;
                          try{soundPlay.close();} catch (e:Error) {} // error or not, the sream won't stop.
    Any idea ? Did you try with a NetStream object ?

    I like to download podcasts directly to my desktop so I can later transfer them to my Sansa media player. Now that I've installed Quicktime podcasts stream and play automatically in my Firefox browser window. What settings do I change to turn off automatic streaming of MP3 audio?

    Well, in fact I have the same problem. And by the way, I dislike marketing tricks as proposing that you buy the pro-version of quicktime if you ever want to download mp3-files again (as a right click on the quicktime browser-player does).
    I already switched off every file link and stream-related ghismo that points towards quicktime as player, in the quickime control in control panel as wel on any other place I could find.
    But the only thing I acchieved is, that IE now starts downloading as soon as I go to a link to an MP3 file and after some time it says "ready".
    An firefox stubbornly keeps opening the quicktime player.

    Is there a way to get things back to normal without uninstalling Quicktime and reinstalling my browsers (wich is useless as Itunes will prompt me to reinstall quicktime)???
